ReliableTech won't call me back for routine service on the air conditioning system ReliableTech recently installed. This Trane system is very nice and technical and needs routine maintenance with a code that it's been done - but ReliableTech will not return my phone call or my request for support on their website. I hope it doesn't shut off like it did last year - we shouldn't be dealing with summer heat just because we cannot arrange for service for this "smart" air conditioning system. read more

We had a furnace put in a couple years ago with a yearly maintenance included. However, it was really not done well and the filter was never changed because they had to break it to fit in the furnace. My 89 yr old mom was unable to ever change it out herself and I had to really struggle to get it out. When I finally did- it was so bad!!!!! Where can I post photos of what it looked like? Then when we had an inspection in order to upgrade the electric, the furnace wasn't even up to code! ugggg read more

Hired Reliable Tech to run a gas line and icemaker water line to the kitchen. They were the middle estimate of three contractors, and I was impressed with the estimator. Plus, they are one of the very few contractors willing to work in Los Alamos county. First sign of trouble was when they didn't come on the scheduled date. At least they realized it and called to reschedule, but it was two weeks later because they didn't want to bump another customer. ??? On the rescheduled day, they plain forgot to come. I called and raised heck, and they sent two guys out the next day. First guy shows up an hour late. Second guy about 90 minutes after than. They second guy tracked mud all over the house, then he forgot to charge ANY of his cordless tools, so we had to wait around for that. Toward the end of the job, I caught the first guy running copper water tubing on the OUTSIDE (over the countertop) of the kitchen wall. The wall was already opened up, so I don't understand why. The second guy didn't put a shutoff valve on the stove gas line, he said I could just turn off gas to the whole house if I needed to. WTF? So I made him put in the valve that they had ALREADY BROUGHT WITH THEM and were just too lazy to put on. After all that and several phone calls later, it turns out they never even got a permit... which I had already paid RT three hundred bucks for! So that was another couple of weeks waiting for the permit and inspector before I could even put drywall back up. Don't give RT your business. They are unreliable, unprofessional, and untrustworthy, and will take your money without doing the job properly. read more

The mini splits in my house have never worked properly since I moved into my house. I called Reliable Tech on a recommendation. The tech came at the appointed time and made an assessment. I was to receive a proposal for the work for the fix. I received an email saying I would be receiving the proposal by end of day or the next day. The next day came and went; the week came and went. I called them back to ask about the proposal and was told that I would receive a call right back. Have never heard back from them. Adding two stars. They finally sent me a proposal..a week late. read more

We interviewed five local contractors to sell and install a ductless central air conditioning system ("mini splits") in our home in Santa Fe. We chose Reliable Tech because of our assessment that they understood these systems and could explain to me how the work and their advantages/disadvantages compared with traditional duct-based central air systems. We initially bought 3 room units. But at the end of the first summer, Reliable Tech gave a good price on two more room units. Okay, today was the final blow. In the Spring of 2015, I bought a new furnace and on-demand hot water heater from you folks ($11,000+). This purchase and installation soon became a comedy or errors. After the installations, when both machines failed it was learned that your supplier didn't have the models in stock I ordered, so I got upgrades--thanks. However, the technicians installing the equipment were not informed. After several call backs, especially on the hot-water heater with water standing in my utility room leaking from the furnace it was learned that my upgraded, high-efficiency furnace and hot-water heater required condensation pumps, which was promptly installed. I told the technician that if he ran the tubing up in the attic to drain he needed to insulate it because I had had a water supply line to my ice maker freeze. They ignored me and soon the heater was leaking on the floor and the hot-water heater wasn't working. In the meantime, there was a loud rattle when my furnace came on and ran. I think there were several call backs on that, even a technician from ABQ since I would not have any more of the original people from Santa Fe back out. Finally, after no one could find it or listen to me about its source I asked the technician for couple of screws and his drill and put two screws into the foot on the squirrel cage--fixed. Then after several calls regarding an annual maintenance contract I got someone final to issue me one; wherein, I had to call and schedule the mx and call each year to remind your people to renew my annual contract. No annual reminder of contract or service on the part of your scheduling folks. Now you don't do service contracts. Well wouldn't you know it, about three years after installation the condensation pump goes out requiring a maintenance and replacement call to the tune of $415. In October, we had several overflows from the condensate pump and called someone back out--he fixed it for as long as he was here. Our hardwood floor is now warped next to the furnace area. This young man wired in the auto shut off, which had not been done previously. Then last week with more overflow and shut-off furnace we have the supervisor come out and it worked for about a week, installing heat tape to keep the line from freezing. Several times the pump was running and running and I stopped and jiggled and squeezed the pump and it went off. This morning the condensate pump beeped, light went red and we now have no heat. Please check your service call records for this unit to confirm my complaints. I would like this furnace fixed, this is a new unit. I also assume you know that calling your number, Santa Fe or Albuquerque numbers, after duty hours the person gets a message that the number is no longer in service. read more

First found Reliable on Yelp. I must concur with the other reviews--they came quickly, were polite and thorough, reasonable cost. Jerome was our service tech--he did a complete job of figuring out why one room was too hot and the other too cool. He also rewired the thermostat and made it work. We're calling him back to complete the work agreed before. Altogether an experience which was 100% satisfactory. read more
