I am far from pleased with the process from start to finish. Percy Melendez was my assigned project manager and was not very communicative prior to the work being scheduled. When the contractors completed the work, I noticed that they hadn't completed the tiling underneath my washer/dryer and the trim around the new tile work didn't match the rest of the house. The contractors told me that they ran out of tile and would need to re-order more and come back to finish the job. Percy also agreed that the tiling and matched trim could be done at a later date. I requested that he put this in writing and that never happened. After multiple texts, emails, phone calls to no avail, I was finally able to get a response from another project manager about this fix. Percy finally contacted me and sang a very different tune that the contractors were unable to move the washer to do the tiling and they were not instructed that the trim match was necessary. Within 2 months of the tile work being completed it was already lifting and catching on all the doors. The contractors came back over 4 months later and finished the work. However, on the phone Percy told me that if the issues still persisted with the doors he would have a resolve to fix the issue, even if a few years down the line. I asked him to again put this in writing, and no such response yet. I have again sent a few texts to him asking for this and nothing. The work itself is average, which is disappointing as it cost nearly $20K. I would definitely NOT recommend using Remodel USA for any reno needs. read more

I contacted RemodelUSA to provide me with a traditional basement finishing. However, after speaking with one of their representatives for about 45 minutes, she was able to convince me to dump my initial plans for one of the finest products in the market- the Owens Corning basement finishing system. The price was reasonable to me and I was facing shorter installation time, reduced mess and dust, not to mention that this proposed system was mold and mildew resistant. My imagination was already blown by pictures of what my own basement could look like in a matter of weeks, so I was very eager to get on with it. Two weeks later, I have an absolutely amazing basement finished and ready for use! Words couldn't describe how joyful I was (and still am). They may be great at some things, but deck rebuilding is not one of them. I contracted Remodel USA to rehab my wooden deck. It was structurally sound, but in need of new planks and railings. I also needed them to build a patio deck on the side of my house. I listened to their spiel, gave them my specs and timetable, and wrote a deposit check after being assured that they could and would do a professional job. Nothing could be further from reality. They overcharged me for inferior materials, used amateur labor masquerading as skilled carpenters, and left me with more work to do in order to get a moderately satisfactory job done. Their miter cuts didn't line up. The planks were not cut evenly, leaving an unsightly jagged appearance. The idiot with the nail gun couldn't shoot straight. He shot nails at the wrong angle so that they protruded through the outside of the deck supports. They installed the planks wrong so that they split in several places. They failed to follow their own saleswoman's specs and did not install furring strips to cover their uneven end cuts. And they cut and installed some of the worst-looking lattice work that I have ever seen. To add insult to bad workmanship, the foreman offered to sand & stain my deck for a mere $3000, "...on the side. Don't tell my boss!". I wouldn't let that jerk near my house ever again. Here's the real kicker. I complained and demanded that the owner of Remodel USA come and see the crappy work for himself. He did, accompanied by his sales manager and a supervisor. While cordial enough, as I pointed out the very obvious deficiencies, he was not the least bit apologetic. When I asked him if he would accept this level of shoddy work at his own house, he had no response. He offered to send his crack team of skill-less misfits back out to "fix the problems". But the only way to do that would have been to start from scratch, and I did not want these pickups from the local home center parking lot back on my property. A couple of weeks later, after arguing with me that I was being unreasonable, and then being subjected to a lengthy and very specific tirade from me about his lack of quality and ethics, he agreed to forego the payment of the final balance, about $3000 as I recall. I had to use that money to have a real carpenter fix the deck as best he could, and to replace the crappy lattice. These people are not to be trusted to give you what you pay for, at any price. I arrived, unintentionally, at Remodel USA via kohlershowers.com. I called the 800 number on the site to schedule a consultation and ... I should have known immediately something was amiss. The person who answered sounded like they were hired a week ago and given a script and told..."Here, book our appointments". I should have stopped there, but I figured...oh...probably whomever they send out will be fine. Let's start with the works part.... The appointment was at a condo I own, in which my 82 year old in-laws live. I arrived about 10 minutes before the appointment only to find the salesperson was already there --- unmasked. I inquired about their vaccination status, to which they replied "I'm not vaccinated...but I'm okay not wearing a mask".... What?!?!?! Well I'M SURE AS HELL NOT OKAY WITH THAT!!!! I was stunned. If I had arrived in time to greet them at the door, I would NEVER have let them in. I should have stood my ground and requested they leave immediately, but I didn't. And I'm regretting that as I write this. So we let them continue...and it was 90+ minutes of torture, They send what basically amounted to a rookie salesperson who could barely work a tape measure and wasn't much better at using the iPad in an attempt to make some slick sales presentation that began with...wait for it....a history of Kohler. No doubt all in an attempt to assuage the sticker shock they would deliver after 90+ torturous minutes. I've read reviews that read like this one before and always sort of discounted them as the ravings of a lunatic...but please...trust me...I am the same sane, patient and good natured adult as you...just driven to madness by a near traumatic experience. I'm in the process of trying to see what options i have for a very super small bathroom and the cost for various options. I was clear from the beginning that this is a meeting to figure out "possibilities" and budget. First- non stop calls from call center, often 2 times a day every day. They DO NOT leave a message. Just non stop call until someone answers, every day, doesn't matter if its weekend or what. They don't care if you work or not, which you would have too in order to afford their shower replacement (I just laughed at the incredulity to cover the rest of the floor or what ever was included in the total bathroom make over- i literally can do my floor , top of the line tile, for about 150 bucks, because my bathroom is that small. My shower is half the size of my bathroom). Once they get a hold of you, still text you and call every day, more than once. I finally requested that they limited their annoying calls to one a day or they can cancel appointment. They can't get their info straight before they even get to your door. Once the person came, sitting their for over an hour to listen how great they are, i knew the price was going to be high...but wow...nuts! Showing me value of bathroom and houses for DC, when i live in an area that doesn't even remotely compare to that market...seriously. They priced at several thousand OVER the price that even home adviser quoted for a ENTIRE bathroom remodel for my area highest estimate (not even taking into consideration that i have one of the smallest bathrooms in this town). If that isn't bad enough, that was just for a shower! What was the final insult, If you don't buy the day they stand at your door, the price increases by several thousands in 90 days, and again several thousands in 1 yr. Some people call that high pressure marketing, I call it a penalty. Now sit down.. the penalty for not doing it that day, but maybe waiting for close to a year, specially considering the price for the remodel, is...whooping 40% of the price! I wish i was kidding. On top of that. I was promised, I would be left with an estimate. I was not allowed to keep the estimate (never heard of such thing???) but was allowed to take a picture of the estimate. I was first contacted by Remodel USA at the Home Show at the Prince Frederick, MD Fairgrounds. They came to my home to give me a free estimate and see what I had in mind. The lady was here for about 6 hours. I signed the contract. I was told I would get one thing then after signing was told that they "couldn't" do such and such. They told me they would paint since they had to put up sheet rock. Then I was told they don't paint. When I told them they could tear up the contract because if they wouldn't paint, they couldn't do the job. I was told they didn't use subcontractors, they do. The carpenter was late three times in a row. I had to miss work each time and he didn't seem to care. Blamed traffic. PLAN AHEAD! The job started when they said it would(Aug 2015) but, I was told that the job would take two weeks total start to finish. It took four weeks. One of the subcontractors took vacation for a week in the middle of the job. The work done by the subcontractors that did the tear out and build up were great. The floor guys not so much. The floor was wavy in one area, I kept telling them about it but no one listened until I signed the completion paper but put a note that I would not release the money until the floor was fixed. Guess what? The owner of the company came the next day to see what was going on and the floor was fixed. Now, it's been a year and I have been trying to get them to come out to fix some issues since April 2016. The guy came out and said he had to order parts. Called in about two weeks and was told he was still waiting on parts. Then the Quality Assurance person called about two weeks after that to see if I was happy and I told her I was still waiting for the individual to come back and fix the issues. I was told she would have someone call me within two days. That was June 2016. Still haven't heard anything. Remodel USA takes your money but never returns to fix any of the issues. Caveat emptor! Made the mistake of talking to this company about a bathroom renovation project. In a nutshell: Do NOT give them your phone number - they will NOT stop calling you. Here's the longer version: They called to schedule an in-home estimate. Warning bells started going off when they required both my wife and I absolutely had to be present for the estimate. I told them in clear terms I was in charge of the project and fully capable of making the decision on my own, but they didn't relent. That was the only good thing they did as, based on the other reviews, we dodged a bullet of being subjected to high-pressure sales techniques for three-hours. I've seen the movie before as my wife and I suffered through a similar sales meeting by Thompson Creek's door sales guy: They sit both of you down (they want to have both decision makers present so you cannot say you need to talk to your spouse before making a decision) and continue wearing you down to a nub trying to make you give in and sign on the dotted line. We didn't give in to the door sales guy's pressure and he left PO'd. Do yourself a favor and find a reliable, local guy through word of mouth. You'll feel better about putting food on the table of a community member, not massive company's owners'. read more

32,500.00 bathroom remodel project!!!!! I scheduled an appointment to get an estimate on a bathroom remodel. Two of your sales representatives, Christine Nikolia and Robert Meyers were scheduled to arrive on April 3, 2017 at 2pm. They arrived 20 minutes late. After introductions, I served bottled water to my guests. Robert took out his tablet and shared information about Remodel USA using a PowerPoint slide and played a video of a "happy" customer who provided a testimony on how happy she was with the services your company provided. In all honesty my observation of the woman in the video appeared to be scripted and she didn't appear to be genuine. I didn't even watch all of the video, I told Robert that I had gotten the point. After the PowerPoint and video presentation Christine talked about the number and type of awards the company received over the years, number of jobs they had during the month of March (i.e., 70 something), number of jobs the company has this month (i.e., 90 something...note I met with them on April 3rd and within three days the company has obtained 90 contracts already...I am not saying it's impossible but ok), and continued down the "sales pitch" road. It was rather insulting because I had already done my research on the company and didn't need a PowerPoint presentation along with a lecture. I already searched consumer reports, BBB, and read reviews of people's experience and heard the good, the bad and the ugly but I wanted to get my own opinion in this estimate/consultation. It was obvious that both thought that I didn't do my homework. In addition, Christine and Robert were stunned that I knew the definition of "Value to Cost Ratio" in regards to a project. Both presumed I was uninformed. This presentation lasted more than an hour. However, in the middle of the presentation, I asked if it was necessary (i.e., again I had already done my homework) Christine stated that the presentation was necessary because I would be spending a lot of money and I should continue on with the presentation (i.e., I almost felt like a prisoner in my own home). I took note of what she said and everything that had been shown and said to me at this point, however, the statement "a lot of money" was a red flag for me but I kept it tucked away in the back of my mind for the moment. After the "Death by PowerPoint" presentation they both measured my bathroom which is my only bathroom and small (5x7). Then we all sat down again to discuss types of tile, toilet, vanity, warranties, length of time for the project, what would be standard and customized, etc. Robert made several trips to and from his car to bring samples of tile, wood, etc. Then Christine rips a piece of paper of her notebook and I immediately knew what she was going to ask. Before she could ask I told her what my budget was (i.e., there was no need for me to write down a number I have no problem talking about money) she then shows me what she has written down. 32,500.00 dollars to remodel my bathroom. This includes keeping the same floor plan and standard materials with the exception of one customized piece (i.e., an L shape glass door for the shower). I knew they were going to give me a high number (i.e., again the whole presentation, and showing me samples and the "red flag" she threw me earlier) however I was shell shocked when I saw the 32,500.00 for a 5x7 bathroom. She asked me a few more questions but I could not wrap my mind around the number she showed me on paper; it was like I was in class with Charlie Brown and the teacher is speaking but all I heard was "Wah Wah". This number is absurd for a 5 X 7 bathroom with all standard materials. They also really PUSHED financing the project through the company. I think people forget that you can have morals and values and still make money. You don't have to overprice projects, push financing, give a 3 hour presentation/consultation (yes they were in my home for 3 hours), or push/intimidate and/or manipulate people to get a sell. read more

I guess this company is not in the business of making money. A Remodel USA consultant came to my Fort Washington home in early June 2020 to give me an estimate for a patio enclosure. He took pictures, measured and discussed ideas for about an hour with a promise to email me a cost estimate. I have yet to receive an estimate for this enclosure project even after calling their office three times and emailing them and today is 7-31-20. Initial sales appointment was fine... Our appointment was scheduled for 4:30pm and we advised in advance my husband had to leave at 6:15. We did not have enough time to select materials and get an estimate so we rescheduled for the following week. My husband rearranged his work schedule to be home. No show by company for our appointment. I called the following day and there was no apology for anything just "would you like to reschedule?" They ended up telling me they sent a text message to my home number to confirm appointment. I am giving 4 stars only because of the installer Mike Sater. We talked 2 Ted and signed the contract in June. We had 2 keep calling 2 see what was the next step. We provided any requested paperwork as soon as requested. Several weeks went by with still no communication and 3 weeks ago I called and was told that the request for the permit was going 2 be sent that day. We were 2 go on vacation at the beginning of August and had 2 cancel because we did not know when the work would start. Communication is one of the most important part of business. The actual project was done fine however the communication is horrible. I received a call two weeks before my project was to start and told the project manager was no longer with the company and that the new project manager would be reaching out . I did not receive a single email, phone call , or text letting me know anything . And neither did my husband . I was calling anyone I could think of for two weeks and would get sent straight to a voicemail . The day that my project was supposed to start I get a phone call at 3:00 pm that the date would be delayed till the following week. Then after the project has been completed I am told that the debris and trash is picked up by a different company and would be there within 2-3 bus days . They remodeled a back porch of ours into a 3-season room in 2019. Don't recommend. I explained up front and several times throughout the job that I wanted the electrical wiring to come through the garage attic directly into the room. I even told the electrician this directly before he started the job. Nope. He pulled it from the attic, yes, but for some really strange reason drilled a hole through the outside wall and siding, ran it down through conduit, and then drilled another hole to bring it into the room. I expressed my displeasure. The electrician reran the wiring inside, but by then the damage to my siding was done. They also damaged a piece of siding near the door they installed. I told the project manager I expected my siding to be replaced. My biggest mistake was making final payment without thinking; that's on me. He made verbal promises several times he'd make it right, but instead he ghosted me after that, and they all stopped returning my phone calls. However, they're sales department has called me twice in 2 years now to upsell themselves. I told them the ghosting story both times and they get really quiet after that. Also, it was a really expensive job, even for the low quality walls they installed, and the walls crackle and pop loudly due to temperature changes. They also ordered the wrong color. I just wanted it done, so I let them install it. In hindsight, I shouldn't have been such an easy pushover. At least the windows they installed are good quality. But, I'll never do business with them again. Also, their sales tactics are strong and pushy. They insist on having both adults there, put on a big show, and then wallop you with the price. When I pushed back, he made it sound like I was being unrealistic. He countered with a lower offer using a cheaper wall system. It was still pricey, and I let them do it, but I regret the cheaper wall system. It's complete crap for what I paid. All around a shoddy job and terrible customer service after the fact. My wife and I attended a home show a couple of years ago where Remodel USA had a booth. We requested a quote on some windows and they came to our home and gave us a quote. We ended up not going with them. They called shortly after that and I told them that we went with someone else. They called again and I politely told them again that we had gone with someone else and to take me off of their calling list. Since then, they have called me around 10-15 more times each time telling them to take me off their list. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I rated them 1 star only because you can't give them 0 stars. Reading the other complaints here, I see that I am not alone in this harassment and despite what the 'owner' responses are, apparently things have not improved. How hard is it for a telemarketer to say to someone in charge of these things "Hey! Why don't you take this phone number off of our phone list". I wish I could give a minus 1 review. This company is the WORSE, run, don't walk away from them. I wish I would have read all the reviews before doing business with this company. They will say whatever they feel the need to say to get your business and then afterwards treat you like you never even existed! $7K lesson learned. We got the siding replaced on ONE side of our house because it was warping, like the sun or something was literally melting it. Before we entered into a contract with them I asked, if this keeps happening will it be replaced and I was told yes, by the initial Sales Person, then by the Project Manager, but after they replaced it twice, the VP stopped returning my calls and then the President of the Company called and had the audacity to tell me that this was the last conversation that we were going to have because it's not a siding issue it's a HOA issue....really!!! The President also told me that my warranty is not with them but with the manufacturer, but I entered into a contract with Remodel USA, not the manufacturer. He (the President) also told me that they rode around my development and took pictures of other houses that have the same issue. So my question was well I can see that happening with builder grade materials, but this siding is supposed to be a better grade and insulated, whereas the siding that was taken off our home was not insulated, so how is the same thing happening. We arranged a new appointment for a better date. The day before they called to confirm and asked many many questions, repeated their questions, asked multiple times if we would be able to keep this appointment and would both spouses be present. Liked the saleswoman. Signed up for them to install a new kitchen floor WITHOUT doing my due diligence as a consumer to obtain multiple estimates. My bad. Oh, how bad. Gave them nearly $2000 as a down payment and didn't go to the smart place of checking with the BBB or other consumer sites or I would have ****cancelled the contract**** within the time permitted. Settling on the install date was the first of many communication breakdowns. 10/22/12 rolled to 10/29/12 based on the work we needed to do to rip out the old porcelain tile floor, and move all the appliances from the kitchen and utility room plus powder room toilet into the living room. (Saved $3000 with our sweat equity.) When 10/29 wouldn't work, I called ahead and said we'd be definite for 11/5/12 if that fit their schedule, and to please call me to confirm (no confirmation). I got a call on 10/30/12 where they apologized for not being there on 10/29 because of Hurricane Sandy!!!! Where'd my 11/5/12 message land? Anywhere???? I left it on the cell phone of the installation scheduler directly. Foreboding . . . . First install (on 11/6/12, election day) went badly (2' tear in vinyl off one corner of my island that was patched and visible for all to see, big bubble off the other corner). I stopped payment the next day on the check I gave the installer for the balance of the work and called the company several times to notify them of the stop payment, in an attempt to be up front and work with them respectfully. . Communication failures again and they didn't find out about the stopped check until they presented it to the bank. The eventual resolution for the tear and bubbling was to install a new piece over the first one. That job went better, and the shoe molding was salvaged and reinstalled from the first time with no visible damage. After the second vinyl was installed on a Saturday (no bubbles, no rips) it sounded like I was walking on rice crispies over most of the floor because of air pockets in the glue between the 2 layers. Installer said that would go away in a day or so, and, doh, I believed him. I did not remit the balance of payment on the contract after this second layer because in reusing the metal transition pieces between the vinyl and hardwood, they were all dinged up and no longer looked new. I knew it wouldn't be high on their list to address this, so, no check. The installer then told me he hadn't been paid for his last several jobs because mine was still a problem. Didn't need that laid on me. I told him to call his supervisor before he left, but he didn't. An hour later the supervisor called and gave me all sorts of crap for withholding the check for "$6 worth of strips." "So you're calling me a liar when I said we'd take care of your floor?" It was ugly. Then he lays on me that the installer would be fired come Monday. Do I need to hear that? I just wanted my freaking floor installed properly. Supervisor told me he'd call me Monday to get this resolved. I ended up calling the next Wednesday to find out what was going on, and told him that the rice crispies didn't go away. "You didn't tell me about that Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I told him that the installer said it would go away, so I didn't bring it up at the time. Take a chill pill, dude. During the first install my partner mentioned that he'd never seen a vinyl install done without a heavy roller to even out the glue. We got blown off. After the second install with dinged-up transition strips and persistent rice crispies sounds, the installer returned with nice new strips AND, drum roll please, a ROLLER. He rolled for over an hour. The morning of the day the roller and new strips were to arrive, I got a call from the company president and let him have the piece of my mind that was left about this floor. I checked with two local flooring places, bringing them each a sample and the name and pattern of what was installed. One place came in at HALF the Remodel USA price for the square footage I needed, the other place was TWO THIRDS the price: confirmation that I got screwed. Remodel USA company president was going to send us a $100 restaurant gift certificate for our hassles. I told him that wasn't good enough and that I wanted something off the balance of my invoice. The absolute best he could do was $250. "Have you ever considered a sun-room for your home?" Wh-wha-WHAT???? I said perhaps, but it would never be from Remodel USA. He said "Never say never." I gave the installer a check for the balance, less $250, SIX WEEKS after the first install date on 11/6/12. Just like in a divorce, I considered it "go away" money. Much more than you want to pay, but it's not so painful knowing you're rid of them. Friends, just DON'T GO THERE. There are plenty of contractors with great reputations and fair prices. We had an estimate done for a kitchen remodel. The sales rep (I'll spare her name) walked in a few minutes late wreaking of cigarettes and cologne/perfume. We all sat down at our kitchen table to discuss things. Our appointment started around 6 45. My wife and I figured it would last an hour, two tops. Five hours later (yes, 5!), we basically had to force her out of our house. Here is a basic timeline of how things went down: 6 45- introductions and start talking about random, non kitchen things. 8- start talking kitchen related things. 8 30- I realize the appointment won't end soon and start making dinner. Good thing, too, we all would have starved! 9- We eat dinner while the rep continues with her presentation. 10- It is very late and we are tired of listening to a sales pitch for 3+ hours. I give my son a bath and tell my wife to end things before it is even later. 11- To my surprise the rep is still at our house. She may be able to stay up all night and chat, but some of us work a normal 9 to 5 and need sleep. Surprise twist- At 12 30, after we're finally asleep, we hear a gentle but continual knock on the door. Turns out, she forgot her purse and decided to come back for it that night instead of waiting to call us later. Suggestions for the company and their reps: Respect the time of your customers- NO ONE should have to sit through a 6 hour presentation! After a while, it becomes completely disrespectful. Set a reasonable price to begin with- Our sales rep did the price high and offer discounts strategy. This makes me wonder why you didn't offer the best price up front and tried to swindle me out of more money. Stop the fake phone calls- We had to sit through two 15 to 20 minute phone calls where she described our entire night in detail to her bosses. We all know they weren't listening. Plus, she had trouble reaching them at the late hour, which delayed things even more. Set a cut off- If you haven't closed the sale by 10 PM, end things (unless you're drawing up the paperwork or something). We made it clear we weren't buying that night several times, yet it still took 1 1/2 hours to make the rep leave. Protect your customer's personal information- During the entire presentation, the rep's binder was open showing two of their clients' contact information. I almost wanted to write down the number or email address and tell the person this company is leaving this information out to complete strangers. They might be a good remodeling company (i doubt it based on yelp and Angie's list reviews), but their sales tactics are questionable at best. read more

I gave this company my information at a home show, I should know better. The scheduling was disorganized. The quote they gave me was insanely expensive ($45k) for a very small front porch I wanted converted to a sunroom-type space using their "special" fiberglass material and their proprietary windows and $25k for standard materials. Upon receiving the quote I was immediately angry that I had just wasted an hour of my life. And angrier that they are taking advantage of people who don't know any better. A week later the scheduler called to say the manager had approved a reduction. I told him to stuff it and hung up. The only thing good I can say is that the salesperson was nice, but they are still vastly overcharging. read more

I hired Remodel USA to gut my only bathroom. The initial response was positive and they were very responsive and accommodating of my schedule (came out after 7pm to demo and do contracts). Their sales representative was a bit high pressure which I didn't appreciate, but was knowledgeable and helpful. I picked out my tile and such. The project was very expensive but they promised they could get the job done in 5 days or less (which was important because it was my only bathroom/shower) so I signed. As soon as I signed the contract though, all communication evaporated. I was told I would be contacted to set up an initial project assessment with the person doing the work, and they called the next day (unfortunately during work hours and I couldn't take the call). I spent the next 5 days calling back and leaving unanswered voice messages until I finally got a meeting set up. This meeting involved me sitting down with the person in charge of doing the project (or so I was told). This went well and was brief. During this meeting they found a permitting issue (initially I wanted a shower, but found out it would require me relocating my toilet for thousands potentially more). I had already signed a contract, so unless I was set on spending more I had to relent to keeping my tub. Overall I was still happy and they set another day in the future for installation. Once again all communication dried up. It was not until a day or two before the project was scheduled to start (and after I called the project owner twice) that he contacted me to verify he was showing up on time. He showed as promised and had two assistants with him (whose English skills were weak at best), but it was then I learned he wasnt actually going to oversee the project and was going to be out of town during the duration. His two assistants would be handling everything. The next few days went well and they completed the work ahead of schedule (~4 days instead of 5). Unfortunately I found multiple issues: 1) They had removed the old tile from one wall where the sink was but had done some lazy patchwork that left a huge bulge in the wall that also affected the floorboards sticking way out past the door frame. Also the sink countertop wasn't 100% level (nothing would roll off it, but wasn't level) 2) I had asked for gray grout for the shower tiles, but they had used white - The grouting in the shower started cracking severely after only 1 day 3) The vinyl floor tiles and sink countertop did not match the samples I was shown (wasn't a huge difference, but noticeable). The marble countertop had significant more gray in it (yes, rock has variations but this was a lot) and the floor tile was lighter color. After contacting them, they returned the next week and fixed the bulge in the wall and the cracked shower grouting. However during this process they managed to put a small scratch in the countertop and a noticeable chip in the backsplash of the sink (which I didn't notice immediately). No discussion about fixing the grout color or the tile/countertop discrepancies besides I will check the sample with no follow up. Pros: - Started job quickly (less than a month from first consultation) - Completed job quickly - Stuck to won&t nickle and dime you - Used high quality components (like Kohl) Cons: - High pressure sales - Messed up several factors like grout color and mismatched samples to final product - Required follow up visit to fix original delinquencies - Lack of communication For the price I paid, I expected better. UPDATE: After 2 months the grout started cracking in the same place again. read more

I received Re-Model USA's number through an on-line referral. They called me and I set up an appointment to have them give me an estimate on a bathroom re-model. The night of the first appointment they called 15 minutes after the guy was supposed to be there to say he could not make it. I do a lot of work with contractors and realize that at times things come up and understood. I re-scheduled the appointment for another day. This time they did not show up and did not even bother to call. When I called the office to see what the deal was they told me he would try to be by within an hour or so. Since they were already late I figured they had wasted enough of my time and told them to forget it I already had enough quotes on the work. A few days later I get a call apologizing for the guy not showing up and if I would give them another chance they would give me a $500 discount. Against my better judgement I relented. This time the guy showed up and looked at my project. 2 HOURS later I finally got rid of him He refused to give me a written detailed proposal which was an end game for me right there. After I insisted on something he gave me a handwritten semi-estimate that was 5000 higher than the other three had received. A few days later they called me again and said they thought they could do better and wanted to send another estimator to my house. I was a little annoyed but told them if they came on a certain day between these hours I would give them one last chance. They never showed up. Between the time of the call and the scheduled day I received at least 3 calls from their marketing department wanting to set up an appointment to give me an estimate. I explained to them that they already been and an additional one was scheduled. After the guy did not show up for the third time I called them and told them to take me off their list I never wanted to hear from them again. Since then I have received multiple marketing calls from people even though they assure me that they are taking me off their call list. I swear if I get one more call from them I am driving to their office and demand that I get to watch them delete me from their database. We had Remodel USA tear down an old deck and rebuild it with a sunroom on top last November. The subcontractor (we were told they had there own crews and did not use subcontractors during the interview process) was fired halfway through the project so it took 2 months rather than the 3 weeks we were quoted because they needed to start over. We just discovered that the boards under the deck are falling off and the outside light is falling off. I have left several messages at the home office over the last two weeks and not one person has called me back to take care of the issues. You can bet we will never use them for anything in the future. Buyer beware! read more

I went through home advisors to seek services to have my kitchen and bathroom remodeled. I compromised my schedule to meet when someone can come out. I literally received a phone call from a rep. 20 minutes before my appointment saying they were sorry, but there was an emergency and they "meant" to contact me earlier to let me know. I called back to speak with the so call scheduling manager, Sherice Duncan, while apologizing and explaining, she did so in an unpleasant manner (was not apologetic at all). I kindly told them I will not be using their service. She was short and discontinued the call. read more

The first time a sales rep came out to visit, he was very warm and gave excellent advice regarding sprucing up our outdated side porch but the cost was extremely expensive! We sat at our dining room table for at least 3-4 hours haggling over prices and monthly payments until we decided it just wasn't in our budget. A year later, we get a call from the company offering us a deal they refused to disclose over the phone but instead, scheduled a 9am appointment on a Saturday and they never showed! (I work two jobs and had to force myself awake) I called the company and asked if they had forgotten about my appoint and the young lady said the rep was running behind but will be there shortly. I think not! I said. We need to reschedule. I was told someone would call me to reschedule and guess what...I am still waiting for that phone call! read more

This is a zero star review, though Yelp has yet to make that an option. My wife and I signed up for a free estimate under much pressure and the possibility of winning a free basement finish. While we have been considering our options, we weren't even actively in the process of starting this job. That said, we reluctantly made an appointment for today at noon. We were told that we would be contacted to confirm the appointment 1-2 days ahead of time. That call never came, and neither did the people to look at our basement. Frankly, I don't really care that they didn't come, but it really pisses me off to sit around waiting for them wasting my Saturday. Based on the other reviews, I can only hope that the lack of contact is a result of them having lost my number, because there's 0 chance I'll ever pay these clowns to do work in my home, and don't ever want to hear from them. read more

I usually read a lot of reviews before hiring a company for anything. Glad I didn't read most of these! My mom's health failed and had to move in with us quickly, and we decided a sunroom addition would be great to allow her to be close to nature. Remodel USA was the second company that came out, and had a better product for a competitive price. We hired them because they could start quickly and we don't have regrets. They just finished our 4 season sunroom, and we love it! This was built on our existing deck, and they had to do substantial reinforcements. Construction is VERY solid, doors and windows glide effortlessly, and we especially love how the underside of the deck is finished beautifully increasing our outdoor living area. We have since hired them to redo our roof because their products are top of the line and their crew was excellent. read more

I had an appointment today with remodel USA to assist my friend in her kitchen and bath makeover. We drove over 45 minutes to get there on time, only to find that our "designer" is running late. He ended up being 30 minutes late. Not only was he late he not once apologized for his tardiness. One should first know that I'm a professional interior designer. Thus why my friend wanted me to help in selecting options. The building is not at all what one would expect to come from a reputable establishment. I asked the receptionist if they rented or owned the building. She said that remodel USA owned the building. I then asked if they remodeled the building we were in. The receptionist replied; yes. The room we were sitting in was dirty with two sofas that one would find in someone's dirty basement, not a waiting room. Don't get me started on the dated swag and cascade window treatments. The short room is dated with chair rail molding to further emphasize the lack of height to the room along with the fact that they had two different colors painted above and below the molding and a poorly done paint job at that. It appeared as though the flooring had been pieced together at different times. I could go on. Once our "designer" showed up he escorted us into some back conference room that also looked dirty and poorly designed. Some of the chairs didn't even match around the table. He in his haste brings in a few samples of flooring and doesn't seem to remember our project as he fumbles though our files looking to see what we had previously selected. He then told us we had to go to another place to see more samples of tile. I've gone to sooo many places directed from remodel USA I believe they are a glorified "middle man." My designer would interrupt me a few times as I spoke which only further irritated me. He spoke ill of other client projects and would tell me not to pick something because it was all the rage 5 years ago. Not giving me a viable design reason. Even the places that Remodel USA sent us too looked nicer then their own facility. I like many other went thought the never ending PowerPoint presentation that lasted 3 hours of all the bogus awards they had been given before I saw a single tile or sample. I don't trust them and fear what is to come. read more

Warning Bells should go off! I wish I had read the reviews before I accepted calls from this company to give me a free estimate. I am writing this review because the company made a 9 AM appointment and no one showed up. I was checking online reviews of replacement window brands and this site http://www.replacementwindowsreviews.co/company/reliabilt-windows-reviews.html was listed. It had what sounded like unbiased reviews and also had a box to get cost estimates. So, I filled out the form that I thought would give me online price estimates for replacement windows. After I clicked on "Get Cost Bid", it was too late. I had 3 companies calling me. One of them was this one emodelusa. The first call from a Bernard, I told him it was a mistake. Soon I get another call from a Marion. I told her the same thing that I was looking for window brands. She convinces me that they are looking for customers in a new areas and if I was willing to allow before and after pictures and provide a testimonial, they would sell the windows to me for a very low price. OK, I bit the bait. Soon Bernard calls and takes address info etc and then asks if my wife will be home. I told him that was an inappropriate question. He proceeded to tell me about his company policy. Well, I said, if your company wants to do business with me, that's fine but I am not going to provide personal info. No one showed up today and no calls that they were not going to show up. So, I called and Bernard repeats his company policy. Well, then, they should have told me the appointment was canceled. Like one other reviewer here who said Caveat Emptor, I agree. If they want your spouse to be there, they are looking for a hard sell. read more

Just want to say a few things and our job is not done yet! Bill, Ruben and Adrian are first class in our book. They have been on our job since the 19th of September and they have been great! They are very accommodating and fix everything we spot. Everytime we have a list of concerns they are more than willing to go down the list and show you what they are going to do to correct or enhance the issue. We went away for our anniversary while the work was being done and Ruben sent pictures every evening before he left, what contracter does that!! Only good ones!!!!! I will update once the job is done but I gotta say the job is going really really well and we are a very satisfied customer to date!!! I almost forgot about Wally, he was on time and comforting on his first visit and any questions we had he addressed and was there for us by phone whenever we called, Thank you Wally!!! read more
