I used to do oil change at that place. Now moved to Dublin, it is kind of far. Therefore, today i went to a local shop for my "check engine light" problem. It is a four star local shop, they read code and told me it cost 150 dollar for just checking the problem. I came back and called REN motor and want to have a second opinion. The mechanic just heard my code p0441, p0446, p455, he told me it is kind of gas leak. There may be many sources for such problems. But I should first check gas gap and see whether the problem could be solved. They can definitely ask me to go there and generate some revenue. But instead they give suggestions. This is not the first time. Last time, I want to change something inside the car, they told me to postpone for some more time. They are chinese ppl. Language may be a barrier, I guess this is why some bad comments are here. Don't expect an experience like a Mercedes Benz dealership, then you will be fine. read more

What is done here: fix a tire. Overall eperience: Friendly, efficient, good price. My subaru outback got a flat tire. I first went to a dealership and I was told the tire is not repairable and I need to replace all 4 tires, which could cost around $1000 bucks(ridiculous). Then I googled and found Ren auto repair has a very good review. Checked in, got fixed in 40min. I actually was surprised that their price is so cheap since this is my first time to go to an independent repair store. I may go with them with my future maintenance work. Add me to the list of super happy customers. I moved to the area a few months back and it's been way too long since my S2000 had an oil change. I caught the review here on Yelp where the person mentioned being met by someone in a modded S2k and it caught my eye. Turns out Owen is also well recommended by the people over at s2ki.com forums. I'm one of those people who don't necessarily want to put a supercharger, exhaust, etc on my car but I *do* care that it's worked on by someone who's familiar with the vehicle and isn't going to take it out on a joyride or try to sell me services it doesn't need (I'm also a female). My car is like my baby. I can honestly say that after my experience with Owen today I will be returning again whenever it just needs an oil change or makes a sound I don't like. He's a local business, very quick, close to home and made my car run smooth as brand new again. The parking situation might occasionally get tight but when I pulled up he not only remembered me from a call-ahead the previous day but immediately said he'd move the car currently in the bay to make room for me to pull in. This place is kind of like a hole-in-the-wall as it goes for oil changes. its pretty close off the freeway, but you wouldn't know it was there unless you were looking for it. The place is pretty small and there were no customers waiting when i went there earlier today. The guy who helped me spoke broken English but I understood what he said. He checked if he had the proper air filter for my Chevy Tahoe '03 and said OK, 20 min. I asked how much and he said 25. i said OK. He was done in 10 min. I told him that he was pretty fast, he said he would have been faster if he used a lift, which was being used at the moment for a longer project. The truck was high enough that he just went under it. the price of $25 had the tax included. This is a pretty cheap place and fast if you go at the right time. I saved some time and 10 bucks by going here instead of my regular place. read more

Get the membership, you pay like 20$ for the year but you get $5 off every oil change and you can bring as many cars as you like. First time I ever been to this shop. I first called to see if they were able to install a sprint booster. Dennis told me he never installed one before and too come down so he can check it out. As soon as I arrived i was greeted and they will be with me in a minute since they were a bit busy. When it was my turn Dennis took care of installing the booster. Took him about 10 min. Very professional shop. They do cheap and quick oil changes with syn. oil only. However, they are capable to do a lot more than that. I have my suspensions, cat-back, bigger turbo, even a shortblock installed there. Their competitive price doesn't mean low quality work. "You get what you pay for" simply doesn't work here. Last time when I went to REN, I saw they were doing a JDM engine swap for the Initial D AE86, and a fully engine rebuilt and a beast supercharge kit for an American muscle car(potanic I think?) One of my friends just ordered a set of new tires from them, very competitive price too. I heard that they are gonna have custom alignment service soon. I might give it a try in the near future. However, like Min Y. mentioned, REN needs to put some real seats for customer. I don't like those car-seat couchs. I always just walked around to look at those cool cars instead. I took my TC105N wheels to have my spare tires mounted. I decided on REN Autoworks for two reasons, they had previously changed out my RPF1's and it was returned flawlessly and they are open Saturdays! Unfortunately this time I was not happy with the results. When I got there at 9:30am they originally told me they couldn't do it because the machine was broken, which was okay. I asked for other shops they recommend in the area since I drove from Oakland. After a quick phone call he said they could do it. This should have been my warning. Turns out they took it to another shop next door which returned my wheels with damage to my wheels. I expected the same amount of care that REN Autoworks would have taken. To cover up this damage they threw on generic blue paint over my dark blue metallic wheels and I don't think they mentioned anything to REN Autoworks. Now all 4 of my wheels have what looks like long curb damage. I love REN Autoworks and will return if they will be the ones doing the work but I have to give 2 stars for the situation. read more

Really disappointing experience. I came here because of the recommendation from a friend as well as good reviews online. However, the experience turned out to be a huge disappointment. They stained the interior of my car like a MESS after the job. The leather of my front seats were all stained with grease/oil everywhere and the floor mats suffered the same. Had I known that they would drive my car with greasy clothes and shoes with no protection (no paper, cover, or nothing), I would have gone with a more decent shop. Now I need to spend $200ish to get the interior detailed - what a slouch! read more

$15.95 oil change!!!! i got a postcard in TAPIOCA in Marina Plaza a month ago, it has been sitting under the my seat since then. last Friday morning, i was in a hurry to school. but i found my car couldn't start up...........i was sooo frustrated....b'cz I'm going to be late, again... Suddenly, I found the post card, and called them for help. The guy answered the phone asked a few questions, and told me that he could come to take a look at it. A few minutes later, a modified Honda 2000 showed up, a guy step out, right after he checked out my car, he asked me if I need a ride to school c'z it may take a while to fix it up.....(I was so surprised he'd asked like that) after school, i called the again to pick me up. I was brought to their shop. My car is fixed. This is one of the best place you can ever be. He seems to work alone and doesn't talk much. However, his work was really amazing. I had a gash on the sidewall of my tire, which he could fix it no time. When I went to the wheelwork, they just wanted to replace the tire, which might cost $ 360 (my car is a new Volvo S80... not a good model for changing a tire). Honest, friendly and reliable ALL describe REN. Although I rarely write reviews, their exceptional service convicted me to log on and give them 5 stars. This was my second experience here and for second time, they exceeded my expectations. I rolled in this afternoon after seeing my tire pressure monitoring system go off for three days. I walked in, told them my problem and they were willing to help right away. After locating and tugging away at a stubborn nail, they removed one longer and thicker than a ball point pen! I thought my tire was a goner seeing the size of that thing, but they were able to plug it up nice and tight. Dennis, one of the guys who works there, was very friendly and humorous throughout the whole process and extremely informative with all the questions I had. Overall this is a pretty nice and cheap place to get stuff fixed IF you know exactly what you want. People there are friendly and informative and service in general is solid. One problem I notice is that their service is not that standardized which may have caused issues and complaints from people who expect that. For example they don't really pay attention to stuff like keeping your interior clean or providing courtesy services (checking tire pressure etc.) like those chain shops do unless you ask them to. Generally they do the work by experience rather than strictly follow the manual so they may miss something if your car is different. So as I said, if you know exactly what you want but just don't have a garage or don't want to get hands dirty, these car guys are actually very helpful and charge reasonably. read more

Great place for a quick oil change- took me 15-20 minutes total! The staff was super helpful and nice, and enthusiastic. The place I usually go to usually takes an hour +. I will keep coming here in the future. Remember to call ahead to make sure they aren't too busy. My only issue with this place is the location- a bit hard to find, and there really is no place to park except for the street, and the area in front of the store is quite crowded. But the staff was extremely helpful and moved my car for me to the back to work on it, even though I parked a block away. read more

My friends just referred this motor shop to me. We went there for tire replacement. The service guy there is nice . He helped me inspected the four tired and suggested I replaced four of them instead of two. I listened to their advices. he identified the tire model and gave me a price cheaper than the one i found on discountedtire. I left the car there overnight. They called me the next morning said they saw the oil change stick and notified me it is about to change. they can offer me a free oil change if I want. I can't believe it is true. Literally the worst repair shop I have been to. Yes the floor has nice clean tiles, and yes they are quite pleasant. Well pleasant until they screw up the job, and over charge you.
