I got a 60 minute massage coupon off of Groupon. I tried to call twice across two different days and nobody picked up so I showed up in person to book an appointment. It didn't seem too busy and they seem to have a lot of availability in case anybody else is wondering about their walk-ins. I will note they did ask me to pay a five dollar Groupon tax at the beginning of my appointment. They did have a sign for tip policy where the suggested was a minimum of $15 for a 60 minute service. I tipped $15 and they did not beg for tips after which I was a bit anxious about. Anyways, ask for my massage my masseuse was great. She checked in a lot to see if the pressure was ideal. I went with medium strength and it was pretty good. I honestly think I could've gone a little bit harder, but I've heard a lot of stories where massages can be really intense, so I was scared to choose the strongest strength. My bestie and I purchased Two 90 minute massages with hot stones and came on Saturday to redeem it. I called and made the appointment for us ahead of time. We were placed in a room together. The room was nice and clean, very modern looking. The bathroom here was also clean, and staff were nice. They had a recommended tip and $8 tax per person, We tip well so that wasn't an issue. She had a female and I had a male masseuse. He was a bit rough on my calves and arch of my foot but phenomenal on my back and shoulder which needed it the most. I have a high arch so my feet are a bit more sensitive. However, when i voiced that it hurt he lowered the pressure which i appreciate. Otherwise, great massage. I tried to post this on Groupon twice, but somehow it didn't show up. Got a Groupon for a 90 minute massage (the cost wasn't much less than their regular price) and when I arrived, I was asked to pay $8 "in tax" (not a usual request). I would have been fine with it if the massage had been good... but unfortunately it was subpar, the worst I've had in NYC thus far. It was clear that, while a sweet person, my masseuse was not trained in massage therapy. She just used brute force and elbow strength the whole time. There was so little variation in her moves -- just elbow moves for most of the 90 minutes and mostly on my back (I didn't even turn onto my back). In the moments that she did use her hands, her callouses made it pretty unpleasant. I get a massage once a week so I know what a good masseuse feels like now. I also enjoy medium to hard massages, but this was painful. I had to ask her to be softer 7 or 8 times, and she would for a minute before going hard again. In short, I would not recommend this spa... it's just pretty clear that at least this one masseuse (and probably others) was not accredited. I have a back injury so had I not told her to stop doing some things or to go softer, I might have risked further injury... read more

They required me to pay beforehand which is typically NOT normal for a service but whatever I paid for the entire service. At the end I give her a tip and she is forcing me to give her more. Truly one of the best massages I've had in years! The gal who did my full body (60 min) massage did an amazing job. I am a little sore today but that's simply because I live in a world of stress that has created all these tiny knots across my neck and back. I mean I knew it was real when she straddled my head and got deep into my back; I was in Heaven. And just to be sure it was 90min I set my own timer on my phone. I have been coming here since it opened a few years ago. Actually, been very regular - once a week / once every two weeks. Always thought the service was pretty good and the massages were decent. It's not fancy, but it's clean. Unfortunately, it's changed a lot over the years and not in a good way. The prices were always pretty competitive (but certainly not the lowest). I never really minded as the place was clean and respectable. Unfortunately, they have raised prices and now have become very aggressive with demanding a massive tip. By the way, there are 5-6 places within a few blocks that all charge the same amount. The front desk person has changed and now they try to make you pay upfront - umm no thank you. I'll pay after the service. Additionally, when paying they tried to overcharge me - $55 for a foot massage vs. the clearly listed $45. Then after giving the masseuse a 20% tip she demanded more. I politely told her that I've been coming for years and always give this amount. She became aggressive and in my face ranting about being mistreated. I really think it's just gotten out of hand. This place seems to not want to pay their employees and wants customers to give a massive tip - she was saying $20 for a $45 service. A gratuity is based on the level of service and is not a requirement - if it was, it would be included in the price, which it clearly wasn't. Customer service was horrible. We went in the night before to ask for pricing and availability. The lady at the desk gave us the card and said that we could just walk in. The card says they're open until 12 but they close at 10pm but if you want to go In After 10, just call and make an appt. So I called and made and appt for 3 people. As soon as we walked in they were asking us for payment. If you pay with card you pay taxes. He was charging me $55/person when the card they gave me the night before clearly has $49 per person. I asked him why the difference and he respond "no price change". I explained to him that I had just been in the night before and was given those prices. He didn't care and would not budge. $6 is not a huge difference but it's the principal. That was the price I was quoted and that's the price on the card I was given. First the decor was nicer than expected given the pricing was inexpensive. $49 cash for half hour body and half hour foot reflexology. It's $54 if you use credit card. We paid $60 cash each. Started with foot. No soak but they rubbed our feet with warm clothes and started rubbing right away. I fell asleep in total bliss Then we went into a room for body massage. I've been here before and it was good. But this past weekend, I had the worst massage of my life. I'm still in pain! It was a bad experience all around. A buddy and I went there after an active day. I requested appointments with masseuses for 2 men. For some reason, they put us in the same room. 2 straight men have no desire for couples massage! That itself was uncomfortable. Great, affordable massage that is clean and friendly. While in vacation with friends, we came in twice to get massages. Both times I did the 30 min foot and 30 min body massage. Pressure was great and found those knots perfectly. You can choose to be in a private room or in the front room in a chair but stay fully clothed.
