I really do love Renew Yoga. I am somewhat new to Yoga in general and have only gone to a couple of studios but this one is awesome. The studio itself has an incredible ambiance with dark wooden floors, high ceilings, and a temple feel. I have had both Pam and Elizabeth as instructors and both are great. Elizabeth in particular is incredible. She speaks and enunciates in such a way that really helps make the experience great. This studio is fantastic! Pam is so great and positive in everyway. She is always in a great mood with a huge smile! I feel so great after her class. One of the best things about this class is the way she helps you with your pose so your getting the maximum benefit from the class. This is a special place I found by accident one day while visiting Petaluma. It's in an exquisite old building so the studio has wonderful high ceilings and polished dark wood floors. The teacher and owner Pamela was sublime. Challenging enough for experienced yoginis, yet peaceful and centering. A wonderful mixed-level class. I have LOVED every class I have taken here. There are morning and night classes as well and the space is gorgeous. Classes get pretty crowded, but the energy of everyone fuels the practice even more! I am so grateful to have found the Renew yoga studio in Petaluma. Kathleen's Sunday night class was absolutely amazing! It provided the perfect blend of physical challenge and spiritual nurturing. The beautiful room felt comfortable and inspiring. It was very warm and I definitely needed the towel in my bag, but it never felt too hot. Accompanied by an accordion harmonica, Kathleen sang Om's at the beginning and end of class. The music and her beautiful voice were quite moving. She made physical adjustments throughout class to assist students in their asana. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for an amazing yoga experience! read more

I had tried another yoga studio the day before and it wasnt for me. So, I tried this one.. I loved the room, it was inviting, comfortable and had a positive energy. The class (slow flow) was the perfect amount of challenging, yet not so demanding I wouldnt commit. I would! I LOVED IT. I worked up a sweat, was able to focus on the poses, take it all in to learn, and felt great afterwards. I was sore, but only in a good way. I knew I worked out, but could totally still move and function the next day! The after effects lasted well after the class. I would do it 4 times a week, if they offered this beginning class more often. So, until I feel more ready to take on an intermediate class, I unfortunately am going to other studios with the same time frame that offer beginner classes. Although, I would stick with this one if it was offered more than on Monday. The instructor, Pamela made me feel welcome and was very nice. For the first time I felt like I knew what all the fuss was about with Yoga. I am now loving it also! Fellow students were also very welcoming and nice. I cant wait to go back! read more

Such an amazing, welcoming, loving and wonderful community. There really are not enough adjectives to describe my experience for this yoga studio. I moved to Petaluma a little over a year ago and was looking for yoga classes that would not only make me want to work out but also open me up spiritually, physically and mentally. And Renew Yoga did just that. I loved taking classes with every teacher here; Pam's classes always left me feeling wholesome and peaceful; Elizabeth's classes made me feel challenged and ready to take it to the next level; Amy's classes always made me sweat and I knew I would always leave her class energized; Helaine's class made me feel limber, calm and self aware. What a wonderful place to practice yoga! The studio is beautiful with its gleaming wood floors and beautiful crystals. The teachers are remarkable! I haven't been able to go to each teacher's class yet, but I am working on it. I have attended a number of classes taught by Pam, Amy and Helaine and I leave each class feeling uplifted, inspired, and rejuvenated. The teachers are sensitive to the different levels that may be present in each class, and teach modifications and give accelerated options to a number of poses. I love the music the teachers use and thrive in the healing supportive environment they create with their thoughtful words. The studio also holds special events on a regular basis that enrich your practice. The studio offers special workshops on types of poses, yoga integrated with extras like acupuncture and meditation. My (adult) daughter and I have been going to Kathleen's Thursday noon Classic Yin Yoga class and we are loving it; feels like a one hour vacation in the middle of the work week. I was recently injured in a collision and this has been more beneficial than the physical therapy I am also doing. The room is serene and the acoustics are incredible, the perfect venue for Kathleen's amazing singing voice that we enjoy and absorb while holding poses. I can't say enough about how special this experience is, almost magical. I love how Kathleen helps you shed all outside stress and thought-chatter, focusing instead on the here and now and self-nurture. I also appreciate that they only heat the room to 80 degrees for this particular class. I've tried yoga elsewhere over the years but most classes have the thermostat set so high that I just cannot tolerate it. If you're near Petaluma you should come try this class. It's perfect for beginners (62 yr old me!) and seasoned students alike. You'll be happy you went. See ya there! :-) read more

Amy Wolff teaches Om Kids Yoga at Maldonado's Renew. Amy has a gift for working with children. Her voice is sweet, gentle and kind. She is very welcoming to the children and really shows a love for teaching yoga to them. The Om Yoga class is fun, creative, challenging and so worth getting to by 9:15am on a Saturday morning. Amy uses story as a way to engage the children and integrates the poses into the theme of the day. For example: For the class that fell on Halloween day, Amy talked with the children about facing their fears.... Makes sense that this be a conversation on the scariest day of the year. The poses that she had them do were ones that we do not do in our everyday life; head stands and back bends. I can tell that Amy is very thoughtful in her lessons. My child always leaves with a positive outlook for her day and she shares her class experiences for many days after. Amy is awesome! The classes are the right price too. I am so happy that we found Maldonado's Renew and Amy Wolff! read more

Renew is awesome! I went to their heated Vinyasa class on Sunday morning and absolutely loved it! The dim, temple like ambiance was tranquil and calm. 90 degrees was just right- not to hot but still felt like a challenge. Elizabeth, the instructor, is great! I love this place. I recently brought my friend who had done a little yoga at home, but was really intimidated by yoga classes especially heated ones, after she said she loved it and is addicted. An hour class is probably a good place to start. For anyone who is nervous just let me say, atmosphere is really non-judgmental and the heat is really quite nice once you start moving! I returned to Renew to give it another chance after a friend recommended the yoga there. I received a warm welcome and had a nice and relaxing session with a wonderful teacher. I ended up signing up for a package and enjoyed the studio and all the teachers are great. I'm glad I went back and didn't let the one less than ideal experience I had years prior keep me from finding out what a nice studio it is. The person I encountered the first time must no longer work there as I never saw her after I joined. read more

This is a great studio for many reasons. The convenience (parking, class schedule, etc) is a plus. The studio itself is clean and spacious...hardwood floors, high ceilings, etc. That being said, the best thing about this studio is the class itself. The classes are GREAT. They are hot (90 degrees) but not bikram. It is a great power yoga with a ton of stretching at the end. I think it is the best workout and I am totally addicted! I recently moved to Petaluma and this studio is one of the reasons that the transition has been so smooth. :) Pam (the owner) is a terrific teacher and Elizabeth is awesome as well. I recently injured my knee and just finished Physical therapy and I used reformers at PT! I started at Renew with Ava Motter in two private sessions and then equipment classes and Booty Bare! Ava was excellent! She was always aware of my knee issue and kept me safe! My knee is so much better! Ava is an excellent instructor and very considerate in doing exercises in a safe manner!
