After investing nearly $70,000 in window replacements with Renewal by Andersen, I expected a professional, coordinated, full-service experience. What I received instead was poor communication, lack of oversight, and a project that I largely had to manage myself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the beginning, communication was inconsistent and reactive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The very first scheduled day for scaffolding installation was canceled without any notice. I received no call, email, or text. I only discovered the cancellation after calling the office myself.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also contacted the representative who scheduled the appointment in December and never received a response.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] During the sales process, I clearly stated that I did not want ladders or foot traffic on my tile roof or on my newly installed aluminum patio cover. This concern was discussed prior to signing the contract and again when the crew arrived (a day late). I raised it yet again before installation began and was told their "hands were tied." For a project at this price point, previously discussed conditions should not be dismissed on installation day. There were also coordination issues with inspections. A city inspector arrived to inspect the full replacement window before the work had even begun. That should not happen on a properly managed permitted job. The crew finished early on a Saturday, yet my stucco and drywall were left incomplete for several days with no communication about completion. I had to follow up repeatedly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only time I received a call back was after submitting an internal negative review.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When installation was finally completed, I conducted the walkthrough inspection alone -- without a project manager present or even available by phone. For a permitted, high-value project, that lack of support during closeout is unacceptable. Now, I am still waiting on the final city inspection. As this project required permits, it is typically the contractor's responsibility to pull permits, coordinate inspections, ensure compliance, and obtain final sign-off. To date, I have received no clear communication confirming whether Renewal by Andersen is scheduling and managing the final inspection or if I am expected to handle it myself. For a company that markets itself as premium and professional, the project management and communication did not reflect that standard. The installers themselves worked hard, but the oversight, scheduling coordination, and customer communication fell significantly short of what should be expected on a $70,000 contract. If you are considering Renewal by Andersen, be prepared to actively manage your own project, follow up frequently, and ensure inspections and closeout procedures are properly handled. At this price point, customers should not be left chasing basic communication or coordinating elements of a permitted construction project themselves. read more

Chose them because of their reputation ...when they were finished, I had two entire sides of the house repainted...and around every window and door they changed, looked like this, with a dark ring around them. I will never use Renewal by Anderson again. They incorrectly measured my doors and created such a disaster for us. They also ordered the doors in the wrong direction so they had to temporarily install and then come back to reinstall another time. Then the door handles broke. We used Anderson for my other house in LA and had a great experience but this company has gone downhill. Separately, we financed with their interest free finance option with no issue and we just recently found out they put a lien on our house for the work even though we financed through them? Who puts a lien on a $2.5M house for $20k in doors that we financed through your company? They placed the lien at the same time we financed but didn't tell us. Shady business practices and will never use them again. You want cheaply made doors at a mid-level price, this is the company. Otherwise, avoid! read more

After it was installed I noticed something wrong with the way the glass panes were attached. The door looked warped as if from too much pressure from power tools (just a guess, not my area of expertise by a long shot!). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I sent a photo and was told that the door would be replaced. I was impressed and grateful for the response.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The new door was put in place and the exact same condition exists. I reached out and let them know that this would be forgivable if it was a homemade door, DIY has different standards. But this one was quite an investment. Anderson's solution to caulk the window frames, which means every few years I will need the windows recalled. Live and learn. read more

Today I had someone check why my bedroom and hallway are freezing cold during the colder months drafty and intolerable. I live close to the beach and we have a lot of wind hitting the south side of the house. We found subpar anchoring and insufficient insulation around the perimeter of the windows. Now I have to pay someone to improve the prior installation. This after paying $54,000 for their work. Best to not use Anderson at all. read more

Let me begin by saying that this review does not pertain to any particular authorized Andersen dealer, rather the company itself. In November 1990 I began searching for windows to replace the old single pane dual hung windows that were originally installed in our early 1950 stucco home . I selected Andersen over such companies as Pella and Milgard to name a few because of their warranty, their reputation, and years in business. In 2022 I decided to do something about blemishes between the glass panels. Apparently, these blemishes were caused by seal leaks. I truly believed that my warranty was a lifetime and that I would never have to replace any of the windows and doors in my home. Unfortunately, I was wrong on both accounts. Apparently, the lifetime warranty was my misunderstanding. Andersen's warranty today is 20 years. In 1991 I installed a complete replacement of the windows, a side window door and a sliding patio door in our home. Since then, five of my windows out of warranty have experienced seal leaks between the glass panes. In 2022 I began the process of replacing the worst of the problems, my patio sliding glass door. I ordered a replacement panel. The first door panel was received or ordered on 10/23/2022, this door was damaged, caused not by the shipper, but the tight binding with which Andersen packaged the product. It should be noted that the damage to the first door ordered was minimal, and I offered to repair it with the understanding that if I wasn't satisfied with the repair, Andersen would then furnish me with a replacement. Andersen insisted that they replace the damaged door. The second door was delivered approximately 3/8/2023 and it was missing the new required interlocking weather strip. Andersen furnished that on a follow-up call and order on 3/20/2023 and received approximately, 4/1/23. After a few months we noticed an odd appearance on the replaced door. At first, we thought it was just dirty. Apparently, there was a leak in the seal or in the manner of construction. So, a third door was received in May 2024. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was no call advising us of its arrival, it was left lying on our driveway without notice. The shipping carton was severely damaged and of course its contents door was also damaged.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The fourth and final door was ordered, and this time was shipped to KTM Glass, Brea, the company that would deliver and install the door. On December 9th KTM delivered the door. I finished the unfinished inside of door and in January 2025 KTM returned to install the door. KTM Glass is the company authorized to handle some of Andersen's issues. I could not be happier with this company because they have resolved the problem. Seniors beware! The original salesman left so many details unaddressed that when they came to measure it became such a train wreck. We wouldn't have matching framing, they wouldn't be able to do this or that. All the stuff the salesman assured us could easily be done and all would be answered when techs came. Nope! We eventually cancelled the front door entrance which is what we actually needed. So sad. We ended up keeping the patio sliding door and regret it. It was overpriced and the administrative experience leading up to install was not pleasant. I highly do NOT recommend Renewal by Andersen from personal experience and unfortunate experiences during this contractual agreement. I can only speak about the getting an estimate I agreed to the pricing on the initial visit just needed a corrected estimate by the installer to verify the measurements and the job site. To my surprise the work was a lot less than the initial visit. I do not need any brick work I do not need tempered glass, the base of the window can be made out of Fibrex which I was most interested about. Long story short Tracy Jones who's been doing windows for decades knew what needed to be done and very knowledgeable about the business gave me an accurate estimate which was $3k less. But Hugo the salesman on the initial visit took only a few hundred dollars off stating I am getting all the wholesale discounts for the adjusted pricing. With a lot of less materials labor and glass that is not worth only a few hundred dollars. I canceled my contract had to wait weeks for a refund and do not have to spend $5k per window that I was willing to pay to begin with. I gave it one star only because you have to give a rating. I'm sad to have to give a bad review. The sales person gave a good pitch, the product did seem to do what I was looking for, and between the flyer I received in the mail and a $500 "bonus" for making the deal that day, I received over $4,000 in discounts. Still, the price was much more than I anticipated, but I did decide to move forward. Now here's the sad part. When the guy came to measure, he said because I live in a high fire danger area, the windows had to be tempered (CA code); the sales person missed that. So the measure guy had an addendum to the documentation for my project that stated it was THEIR mistake and I would have to pay nothing. I signed that addendum understanding there would be no cost to me. I received a call from my sales rep stating that I would have to pay around $2,800 more because of the tempered glass issue - BUT that Anderson was "splitting" the cost with me and I wouldn't be charged for the aluminum frame removal. Well, I signed a document that said I would have to pay NOTHING for these mistakes. Sales rep took it up the flagpole to his supervisors but bottom line, they wouldn't budge with the $2,800. Seems also a bit of "bait and switch". If I had agreed to pay the extra monies, I would actually no longer have gotten a discount. That seems a little fishy to me. So it seems very foolish, stupid even, that the company would rather lose almost $15K with a cancelled order, rather than the around $4K for their mistake. All I can say is BUYER BEWARE. read more

I'm writing this review to alert all homeowners out there who are considering purchasing with this company. I purchased this property a year ago and began looking into contractors for remodeling the property before moving in. In the process of starting the remodeling, there was a bit of rain. Thank God for the rain! Due to the rain, we were able to see that ALOT of the windows from Andersen (purchased by the previous owner) were all leaking except 1. We reached out to Andersen and they sent out a crew to inspect and they confirmed it was due to poor installation on their part. They replaced all the leaky windows and ran a few tests by spraying water on the newly replaced windows and there seemed to be no visible leaks. Keep in mind, this also caused us to have to pause the remodeling process for them to fix these windows. Our remodeling was delayed due to the issue needing to be assessed by Andersen's crew. Fast forward to about 6-7 months later (now) there was some rain last night and we wake up this morning to leaks around the same windows that they just replaced months ago. Another poor installation job?? Now we have to deal with possible mold inside my property due to the leaks and my children both have asthma! Mold can effect people with asthma more severely than for someone who is perfectly healthy. I'm in a position where I feel like, do I allow them ANOTHER chance to fix their mistakes? Or do I just contact Dept. of Consumer Affairs for Contractors State License Board? Or do I give them another chance?? I mean.. What if this happens again?! What if they don't cover all the damages caused by the leak and only assess the windows?? I'm going to see how their response is and take it from there. We signed a contract for replacement of two double doors and three windows in September, 2022. We were originally told our project would take ninety days. It took four trips to get one set of double doors right. It took 15 months to get the third window right. The window was shipped eight times before they got one to install that wasn't cracked. The people are very nice. Very polite. The worst commercial experience in my 70 years. I had an entire 2900 sq ft house built from ground up faster than they got two sets of doors and three windows installed. I would never do business with them again. Ever. read more

Blown out of the water by the professionalism of this company. Never actually encountered anything like it before. Even bring it up in random conversations. My salesman Andy came out to the house and worked with me on the design of the replacement windows and was full of helpful suggestions. No major sales pressure which is unusual. Found every discount he possibly could. Still super expensive for my budget, but no one else was even willing to tackle the job. 43 windows to be replaced and one wall of the entire house is glass. So the windows had to reach 30 feet high. No problem was Anderson's attitude from the beginning. Then the measurement guy came out and spent hours dialing in the measurements and figuring out window spans that would reach 30 feet. Signed the contract with a one year, interest, free loan and then waited for the windows to be built. Made a couple of course corrections along the way with no hassle. Management reached out a number of times to me to explain things. Everyone was professional, courteous, and helpful. The whole process was bizarre because I had never had such top-notch customer service. Then Jose and his crew showed up to install the windows. It was a big crew, and they all seemed to gel well. Happy workers to me means a good company to work for. My job was challenging because it was at 6000 feet and my house is at the top of a steep flight of stairs. There was zero grumbling. I was so comfortable with the crew that I was fine leaving my house for extended periods of time while they were working in it. When I was around, I paid close attention to the detail and have a background in construction. Their work was excellent through the entire process. I felt like hugging them at the end. They did such a great job. Then the follow up was equally amazing. Management reached out to see if I was satisfied. I explained there was some minor cosmetic damage caused by the scaffolding company that had set up the scaffolding. They immediately paid for the damage. Then I had changed two of the windows from sliders to fixed windows. I mentioned that to management and they checked into the pricing difference and issued me the refund for the cheaper windows. We are disappointed. Renewal replaced some windows which were plate-glass, outdated and dangerous. They did a great job, the new windows are beautiful, sturdy and easy to clean. When we wanted to replace others, the team member said they couldn't do it -there's a window-AC unit (small) installed in one and they said they couldn't remove it or put it back. That's pathetic. They refused to do this project which we had budgeted for months so now we have to find a different company. Thanks for tromping through the house (twice) and turning down the project because of an AC unit. The upshot in the end is that we paid no money to a company that advertises on Fox, so that's a relief. read more

I obtain an estimate over a year ago. There were two individuals, one was in training. I wish I would have kept their names. The one doing the training was one of the most blatantly sexist salesperson I have encountered. I am a professional with a salary greater than my spouse (who is also a professional). The estimate took forever, the delay seeming to be part of their strategy. My husband came out and stated he knew about the estimate, it was entirely up to me and I would be paying for it so whatever I wanted was fine. After listening to their long pitch I thanked them and said I was in the process of obtaining other estimates and would let them know. They then said today only was a 50% discount or something like that to which I thanked them and said I would be in contact. I was then asked if I was going to talk the offer over with my spouse which I said no, as he had said, I was paying for this and I would be making the decision. The experienced person then said he could not believe as a wife I did not even need to talk to my husband about this offer and that he could not imagine a situation in which his wife would not consult him about such a big decision (as if a wife is unable of making such a decision). I simply said no thank you and that I would be in touch. The trainee looked uncomfortable with his trainer's decision. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A couple of days later, while we were out to dinner, I received a call on my cell phone (the contact number given) asking to speak with my husband about the window decision.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Maybe it was just poor communication, but it felt like he was trying to go around me even though he had been informed it was completely my decision. Nothing has worked[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I am at the point of needed to file litigation for violation of the TCPA which seems crazy but I am tired of it. My purpose was to determine whether to replace three windows in my modest garden apartment, which is a 60 year old condominium located in a retirement community. Two Andersen sales men visited with me at my residence and inspected my windows. They found defects with all three windows and strongly recommended that all three be replaced for a cost of $13,000. They also promoted an expensive finance package sponsored by Goldman Sachs to pay for the windows. As a senior citizen, I was badgered by both sales men who were relentless in making a sale. I almost purchased the windows out of fear of major leaks if I didn't go through with the sale. When I declined the purchase of all three windows, one of the salesmen contacted me repeatedly by phone to offer replacing only one window. The cost of that replacement was $6,000. I also rejected that offer. I felt that the sales practices of the Andersen sales men were questionable and took advantage of seniors. The initial salesman was knowledgeable but a lengthy sales pitch was a turn off. When I finally got the bottom line price after discounts, etc. I almost had a heart attack! Their discounted price was tens of thousands of dollars more than another seller with a reputable brand. read more

I am a 100% service-connected disabled Veteran who served this country for 24 years. I contacted this company to replace one window in my bathroom. They came out and measured the window to be replaced. They sent a second person to measure the window. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Each time, I showed them what size window I wanted to replace the current one. Since I could not stand and verify the measurement, I accepted what I was told. I was not shown the window before installation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once the window was installed, I checked it. It was smaller than what I wanted. I called and complained and was told the window installed was the size I had ordered. That seem to need your business unless you're doing major projects, called and asked if somebody could come by and give us an estimate on some windows in a bay. She kind of laughed and said is that all we just don't do a couple windows try to make an appointment they only make appointments a week in advance so I told her it's OK. They can come by call again in next week when we can make an appointment for the following week never heard a thing back. read more

I would only recommend this company to people I dislike. We got our windows and one patio slider replaced in our house in Apple Valley three years ago. They are crazy expensive but we thought we were good because we had a coupon and got a Military discount, but no. We got slide in windows for our 1971 built house. Apple Valley is a desert town, so we get hit with dusty winds. The new windows still let in the fine dirt into the house. For some stupid reason, the caulking that the contractors used always stayed tacky, inside and outside. So by the end of the week, the outside caulk was dirty. It did not come off when sprayed with the hose or cleaning spray. Those expensive windows looked terrible just from the caulking. We also did not know until we refinanced the house that they put A LIEN on the house! They put a lien on the house even though we made payments on time. We were not told they would do that when we were getting the quote for the windows. Terrible windows and patio doors, terrible materials used, terrible customer service. read more

As a recently retired commercial construction project manager, I feel that I am very critical in my review of any subcontractor work. I can honestly say that this is probably the best experience I've had in my entire career. Renewal By Anderson just installed 58 windows and eight French doors and a home that I built 30 years ago. The entire experience was excellent from the sales portion (Don) through the measuring process, the order leadtime, the office staff (Maddie) communication, and finally the excellent installation team. Jose and his crew, met and far exceeded anything I could've ever hoped for. Their attention to detail, cleanliness, courtesy, and care for my home and family was top shelf.
