UPDATE: I want to clarify Newman's response because it's actually a good example of the issues described in my original review. Newman states that they completed "additional work and services at no cost," including stucco work. That is not what happened. I was told during the quoting process that the finish work would be taken care of. Instead, I ended up having to handle and pay for the stucco work and interior moulding myself. I also had to come up with a workaround for the bifold that Newman measured incorrectly. The opening was measured too low in relation to our kitchen countertop behind the sink. Because of that, water could potentially collect at the threshold and make its way back toward the cabinetry. We ended up having to add a granite piece behind the sink to cover and protect that area. That was a workaround we had to come up with because of the incorrect measurement, not additional work Newman did for us. So I'm not sure what "additional work and services" Newman is referring to. To my knowledge, Newman has not performed anything outside of the scope we paid them for. In fact, we've had to pay other people and come up with our own solutions to finish or correct items we were originally told Newman would handle. This is exactly why I mentioned the communication issues in my original review. We're told one thing, later told something different, and now their public response says they performed stucco work for us at no charge when Newman did not perform our stucco work at all. I'm happy to acknowledge anything Newman actually did outside of the scope at no cost, but I genuinely don't know what they are referring to. UPDATE 2: I think you're missing the entire point of my review. The issue isn't whether you can go back after the fact and explain why each individual problem technically wasn't Newman's responsibility. The issue is that we repeatedly relied on what YOUR team told us, only to be told something completely different later. Your sales rep and project manager told us you would handle the full bifold installation, including the necessary stucco chipping. We relied on that. Now you're calling it a courtesy outside the scope. Your sales rep told us the bifolds could be rushed. We relied on that. WinDor later told us there was no rush option. We raised concerns about the installation and were told things were "normal." We relied on your expertise. WinDor then came out, told us they were not normal, and corrected one of them. Your project manager inspected our prepared openings and took the final measurements. One of the bifolds was still measured incorrectly, and we had to modify our kitchen design and add granite behind the sink to work around that mistake. Now we have a bifold that is so difficult to open we practically have to kick it, and again we were initially told this was normal because of the ADA threshold. WinDor has now told us it should absolutely not operate that way and is investigating the installation. That is the pattern I'm talking about. At some point, you need to stop explaining why every individual issue wasn't really your fault and take ownership of the overall experience your customer has had. We hired Newman to be the experts. We shouldn't have to verify what your team tells us with the manufacturer, come up with our own solutions to measurement mistakes, or debate afterward whether something your employees told us would be handled was actually part of the job. I'm not expecting perfection. I'm expecting accountability when something goes wrong. That is what has been missing throughout this project. read more

I had them installed new windows and a patio door, but almost 10 years ago. I developed a severe mold allergy and mold testing revealed that one of the windows had been leaking for quite some time which rotted out of framing around the bottom of the window created a serious mold problem in my house. I reported this to the company and they sent a man out who recorded everything and took pictures and sprayed water on the window from the outside and then told me the window was fine. It's not leaking. When the construction company removed the window, mold remediation, the aluminum frame around the original window at the top was bent about an inch which is where water was entering and running down around the window to the bottom. Avoid this company at all cost as they will damage your window frame not tell you and just shove a new window in there and you never find out that it's leaking read more

Do not waste your time. 10 emails and 29 days later still cannot get a basic quote from them. Keep saying they will get a quote out and never follow up. Corresponded with Ava Memel and Greg Frinell, neither followed after saying they would get the quote out. Had two jobs done over the past coupler of years, the last one was a replacement of patio door with sidelites which went ok until came the time to fixing very straightforward details like size of rubber, replacing a pedestal , turned out quite disappointing. They had to come back 4 times and eventually job is not even done properly, attached rubber patching two pieces together. Ridiculous to reach that point of incompetency and just a waste of time. read more

So I'm going through the pain right now of having them fix my leaking window that they installed 10 years ago. If you have unlimited days to kill just waiting for them to show up then this is the company for you. I've tried to be a nice guy and work with them. After a dropped appointment the manager comes out the next week and verifies where the leak is. The workers come out and I show them with the hose that the second floor window will only leak into the interior of my downstairs if you hit it specifically on a 2' section of their window. Antonio the worker seems unsure, so I go inside with another worker and wait as Antonio tries to push the water in. After 10 minutes we ask him to go where I know it will leak. Literally 2 minutes later the leaking begins. He then tells me what I see is not true, but for $1100 on the side he will rip all my stucco out from the 1st floor to the 2nd to chase this elusive leak. I've sent video after video proving that the entire wall will not leak until you hit this one window area. So here I am, on the second week of having parts of my wall ripped out...waiting for the managers manager to look at my video. Doesn't matter who they send to your house, don't expect that a poor installation will ever be repaired. We won't even talk about the amount of water I had to pump into my house, damaging my lower interior window sash and probably creating black mold just to get this problem fixed. I highly recommend not choosing this company. read more

I did a lot of research prior to having Newman Windows and Doors install 15 new windows for me. Everyone from Cindy in the office to Kevin, the sales agent, to Scott the installation manager who supervised to make sure everything was perfect., and Jose, Robert, and their entire team who installed the windows were very professional, courteous, and hard workers who cleaned up each day when they were finished. They were on time and called ahead to let me know when they would arrive and made the process go smoothly. All the measurements were correct when they re-measured prior to installing each window and they look great. Time will tell but with the lifetime warranty and care they took with installing the windows, I don't expect my satisfaction to be any less than this 5- stars rating for Newman Windows and Doors. I can't believe how impressed I am, both with the company and the product! We desperately had to replace some of our windows due to winter cold and summer heat. I'd been putting this off for a couple of years, as it was money I really didn't want to spend. Quotes from some other companies were coming in so high, that we would only be able to replace the few we really needed to. To be honest, I was set to go with one of the bigger stores, but my Blind installer recommended Newman Windows, so I thought I'd just get a quote. Darren was my Sales Rep! He was so friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and made recommendations. He answered all of my questions and didn't make me feel like 'this is your only option, take it or leave it!' Then came the quote. The quote was so much lower than the others, that we ended up doing to whole house!!! They also offer a lifetime warranty on product and installation, which was not offered by the other companies. The windows were installed over 2 days. The installers came, they were respectful, again, answered all of my questions and kept everything clean. They did an amazing job! I was concerned about having people all over my house, with kids at home on summer holidays too, but we almost didn't know they were there. They just got on with it. I imagined it would be dusty and noisy, but it was none of that! My real surprise here, is that this was a functional project, like plumbing; we had to do it for energy efficiency. Also, I wasn't a fan of replacement windows and actually thought that these would look worse than what we had. However, I am truly blown away. I really really like these. They look solid, clean and are just lovely to look at. Did I say that I reeeeeaaaaally like them? ;) They actually add curb appeal! I didn't expect that. My neighbors are asking... :D Oh, and I can already feel the difference with the summer heat. read more

Newman windows and doors were highly recommended to me by Milgard window company repairmen. I ordered new replacement windows for an older bay window we had in our kitchen. When the new windows arrived, Newman's installers put them in then told me that they were damaged (scratched frames) and they would contact Milgard for replacements. After they were installed they also informed me that there was significant termite damage in my window frames. In my opinion they should not have installed damaged windows and they should also have told me to get the frame repaired before they installed the new windows. Newmans installers said they would notify their office and took pictures of the damage to send to Milgard. All of this occurred on August 28, 2017. It is now November 27, 2018, and after calls and e-mails to both Newman and sending requested photos of the damage to Milgard because they say did not receive any photos from Newman, I still have not received response or communication from Newman Windows and Doors to replace the damaged product. At this point, I would give zero stars if i could. read more

If i could write a lower star review I would. I purchased my windows with faith that they were a company that could be trusted . When the windows arrived apparently they were measured incorrectly. They weren't going to tell me so they proceeded to put the windows in until I happened to notice on the last window that they were installing on the first floor I noticed that there was a lot of the foam being used to hold the window in the window frame. They were too small and the foam was being used to hold the window in with a few long nails . The installer confessed that they were all the wrong size and they were making them fit with the foam. The supv was called and he assured me that it would work. I should have realized sometime was wrong when it took them over 4 hours to install two windows. If I hadn't stopped them they would have installed all the 13 windows and would have covered it up with the casings. They did order new one and when they were being install I video taped two of the crew members trying to cover up an error they had made again had to have the supv called. Who know what they did with the windows I didn't video tape. Apparently Newman hires cheap laborers and says they are trained. They only had 1 gentleman that appeared to know what he was doing and he couldn't watch what they were doing. I'm just hoping that when the next rains come that my windows wont leak. Only time will tell. Beware of Newman Windows is all I can say. read more

In early February we decided to replace the windows and sliding doors in our house, Newman windows & doors were the third Company that I asked them for bid. We made appointment with Robert (their sales specialist) at our house, after he explained and answered all our questions and concerns, we found him very knowledgeable and professional and courteous and fair. we decided to give the job to Newman's Co. In early April when the time came for installation, me and my wife were not sure if we should do it or reschedule it for a later time, but after I talked to Amber in their office and she explained and assured me that all their installers are following the County's Protocols and will observe all the precautions, we decided to do it as it was planned and we are so happy that we did it. New windows are quite, nice with high quality, that made a big difference, especially during these quarantine time that we are staying in. Mr. Newman, your installer crew did an excellent job, by quality of the job and wearing the masks, gloves, shoe covers and observing the social distancing during their entire installation, which was very important for us in this situation. It was a great pleasure doing business with you, and I will highly recommend your company to our family and friends living in Orange County. I called on January 8 and made an appointment for January 14 for someone to come measure and give me an estimate to replace patio sliders. No one came and I did not receive a call so I contacted the company. The woman I spoke to stated that my appointment was cancelled and someone was supposed to call me and she did not even apologize. Definitely a missed opportunity to acquire a new customer. read more

We finally had to replace 2 sliding doors that had given us problems because Lowe's had incorrectly installed them. After years of jerry-rigging them to not leak, it was time. We went to Newman Windows and Doors in Mission Viejo came highly recommended. Janine and Mark were great to show us the doors, go through the options, and and get job scheduled. Normally these 5 star reviews go one to say how great the doors are and how smoothly everything went. That was not our case. When Mike was installing the doors he found a defect in the frame of one of them. They were able to do a temporary install and ordered a replacement frame. Unfortunately Milgard would not replace the frame until they had someone come out to see the frame and since we were having record rain they were backed up. Our situation was becoming dire as major storm systems were forecast to roll in and the temporary install would not withstand these storms and we would get flooded. Mark stepped in and got Milgard to replace the frame on a rush order. The day before Stormaggedon was going to hit, MIke put in the new frame and Newman sent out a crew to paper and seal the surrounding area to keep it from leaking. We rode through the storm without a drop leaking into the house. Caesar came out the following week and did an exceptional job with the stucco, just as he had previously done on the other "good" door. One other note, MIke did not like how the rollers were working on one of the sliders and scheduled a service call with Milgard. MIlgard came out and did a great job getting them to open smoothly. A company is only as good as their response when things don't go well. Years ago Lowe's told us to go pound sand when the doors they installed leaked; Newman was with us through the entire process and made sure it would be done right. read more

The installers were on time, efficient and extremely courteous. No damage was done and they left the area very clean in and out. The frame and windows are absolutely beautiful. I was able to schedule an appointment for a quote within a few days. The gentleman showed up to my home, took measurements and said he would get back to me in a few days, even gave me a date. Never heard back from him. It was more than two weeks later I reached out and asked for my quote. Never said he was sorry for not getting back to me but blamed it on the door company they use. Then texts me and says his company doesn't have any door manufactures that will meet my needs? This gentleman is obviously too busy to take the time to give me options.
