My wife and I first contracted with The Sliding Door Company in 2019 when we were remodeling our living room and wanted a nice barn door to separate that area from the main hallway. We called and subsequently met with the onsite Account Executive (Anna Pearson) at the Costa Mesa location, and we were impressed with her professionalism and knowledge. We gladly contracted to have a beautiful glass Barn Door installed, and additionally contracted to have two milky white sliding closet doors, and our expectations were not only met, they were exceeded (see Barn Door 1 and Closet Door 1). We recently remodeled our kitchen, and considered getting a Barn Door to separate the kitchen from the dining area. Based on our previous experience with Anna, we reached out to her, and just as in the past, she was amazing. We met with her, and contracted once again for a Barn Door (see Barn Door 2) and a milky white closet door (see Closet Door 2). Outcome - perfect! The installers for this job (Marco and Arthur) were also gracious, knowledgeable, and did an excellent job. They took their time to make sure everything was done properly, and left the work area clean. A great crew! It is refreshing in this day and age to have an experience with a company 5 years after the first experience where the quality levels (both of the products and the employees) have stayed excellent. I had almost given up trying to realize my vision for the door between my office and master bedroom. What I wanted didn't seem to be available in any showroom or home store. I spoke with a specialist at local door outlet and was quoted nearly $10k for a custom order (!!). I went from there to the company's web site and inquired by email, ultimately connecting via phone with Anna P. at the Costa Mesa, CA showroom. So good. Our subsequent dialog translated my verbal specifications into reality, at a reasonable price point. I'm very happy with the outcome. After design, company techs came to the house and took measurements. When the door was delivered the same crew returned for the installation, which went like clockwork. I'm impressed and extremely satisfied with the build materials and overall product quality, including a top and bottom track system that is significantly nicer than is typically available on sliding doors. Sliding action is smooth, stable, and quiet. No wiggle. No rattle. Everything fits. True, I paid more for this door than I would have if I'd purchased at a home improvement store. I worked with Kelsey and almost everything went smoothly except for a few hiccups during final pricing. Despite the pricing hiccup (their initial quote didn't price out the build correctly when reviewing the final contract), Kelsey was great to work with to review all of the color and size options that were available. Once we got some of those issues sorted everything else went smoothly. Even a last minute change on the door handle color was no problem. My first interaction at the time of booking an appointment was also good, fast and professional. But the quality of service after that basically none. They promised getting back to me with quotes and lead times, but never did. I called them multiples, and was told they are waiting to hear back from their vendors to give me a quote. We are a repeat customer. This is our third transaction with them in lasts 6 years. We've gotten two master bathroom doors and a loft partition multi-panel system. Their design is great (for all three products), price is decent (they aren't cheap but not the most expensive either), and I strongly recommend you spring extra to use their installers for it comes with measurements and installation warranty that is well worth the money. Over the years, we've had small adjustments needed and they went an extra mile to replace product parts and provide service that's above and beyond what we expected - it's one of the reasons why we are a repeat customer. On this last transaction of a large loft partition system, my installer team ended up being Marco and Luis S - and boy did they go an extra mile. While there was some unusual drama - product took forever to arrive, first installer team couldn't complete the job, second visit with new installer team consisting of Marco and Luis S did the best they could but had missing part and miscut parts from the other (first) installer team visit, and then the third visit was nearly perfect - the back office team (Esther and Jason) went the extra mile to schedule Marco and Luis S again for us, and the installer team went an extra mile to deal with typical problems you usually encounter on jobs like this: tight corners and crooked walls/ceilings/floors. I've noticed little things in their process - careful handling of the product, constant work site cleaning including vacuuming metal swarf before it scratches the expensive flooring, and they deliver an all-around competent and professional installation experience. read more
