I will start off by saying the quality of our sliding glass doors made by Win Door is of good quality. We are satisfied with the door itself. What we are extremely unsatisfied with is the sliding screen that comes with the door. Apparently, Win Door fabricates the door itself but does not fabricate their own screens. They purchase from a third-party supplier that does not care about quality. We bought a $10,000 door and when you're paying for quality, all included parts should be of the same quality. The screens are junk. We hired a contractor to install and After installation, we called our local retailer about the Junky screens that weren't closing properly. The handles weren't even close to being lined up with each other. terrible quality! She reached out to win door and their answer was "you could purchase an upgraded screen for $650". Again, when you pay for quality, the screen is part of the door and it should be of the same quality as the door. This isn't a $2000 door from Lowe's. This was extremely expensive. We opted to have the company replace the screen and hopefully get a better one this time. Nope, same situation and even worse. Now, our contractor is charging us each time he makes a trip to the warehouse to pick up the Replacements. We just tried the third set of screens and same situation. Win Door isn't interested in replacing with quality or even supplying us with a credit to pay our contractor for his time. We will never purchase a door from them again. Our door's latching mechanism had been partially replaced on an earlier appointment and by another technician. The problem wasn't resolved on that visit, so Jerrod assessed the fitment of our door and correctly diagnosed our issue in less than ten minutes--wasn't the mechanism after all. After a few adjustments where he showed me how to make them myself, should I ever need to do so, Jerrod had our door working like new again. He also adjusted our lock to make the partially-replaced mechanism from the previous visit work smoothly while it settles into daily use. What a great visit. If it was possible this company would get ZERO! In 2014 our Association hired Win Dor to install windows and sliding doors in 25 units. Homeowners after about 2 years started experiencing water intrusion and other issues with their windows and doors. Trying to get Win Dor to resolve the issue is still an ongoing battle. After the recent deluge homeowners are experiencing more water intrusion. Emailed and left messages and am still waiting for a response! Their "Warranty" is a joke. We are furious with what should have been a simple lock replacement on our WinDor sliding glass door performed by WinDor repairmen. The lock on one of our doors became increasingly difficult to move even with the safety depressed. We were told it would be $110 plus $20 for the lock-ok! Repairmen showed up and got to work with a saw!! What! Then we heard hammering-again it was supposed to be a simple lock replacement! When they were finished I saw one of the guys wipe his arm across his forehead to tell his partner-whew got that to work! He went outside to the car! The other guy tells us it is fixed! I try the new lock which now sticks out and is not flush with the door. The lock is very difficult to move (hello that's why we wanted the lock replaced). It works in the opposite manner from our other door (unlock is now in the down position with lock in the up position). Instead of the smooth 3.25inch travel between lock and unlock, we have a very difficult 1.25inch travel in the opposite direction! To add insult to our door they installed a bright brass lock keep to our white frame making it look like a cheap box store piece slapped onto our door. What has happened to WinDor? WINDOR was a good company that has now gone down the tubes! 1. They installed three sliding doors in my home maybe 10 years ago. They have custom sized sliding screen doors in them. I want to replace the sliding screen doors with went to s$!% over the years. WINDOR no longer makes or sells screen doors, so I have to contract someone else to make custom screen doors for the WINDOR sliding door frames. 2. WINDOR used to service their doors and windows. Such an amazing experience I'm not sure where to start! We decided to upgrade the windows at our home as they are the original ones from the 80's and they were killing us energy wise due how old they are. After extensive research we gave Win-dor a try. They have good reviews, I like their work, and they are one of the only vendors that work with the Irvine co. The sales rep Stephon really impressed me, he was low pressure, and let the work his company does speak for itself. I was happy with the deal we worked out and we replaced every window and the patio doors. The crew was impressive as well. The foreman Danny was very professional, his team was respectful of my home, asked for permission to enter, use restroom,etc. they also were very friendly to my kids which impressed me even more. The work they did was flawless, you could tell they take ownership/pride in their work! After they were done Danny took the time to show us everything and answer any questions that we had. Having problems with one of the screen door sliders this company installed. The track they mounted the door in has no play whatsoever, making it impossible to remove the door from the track in order to service it. It's possible the threshold and/or opening door has swollen over time and now the door is so tight in the frame, the wheels don't even show. Was hoping to get them out here to look at the problem, but they said they don't service screen doors, even though they are the ones who installed it. They said they would be happy to recommend a screen door service technician who i could pay to fix my problem. Thing is, if the door was installed properly, I could easily remove and repair it. Sloppy install WIN-DOR refuses to clean glue finger prints that Win-dor's install crew left on a window that is 25 feet off the ground. Making it impossible for us to clean ourselves. We just bought a brand new building that Win-dor supplied and installed the windows for. I have been trying since getting the widows professionally cleaned to have WIN-DOR or Ganahl lumber 34162 Doheny Park Rd Capistrano Beach, CA since they are who the windows were purchased from to send a crew to come clean the windows since it requires a boom lift to reach them. Both parties point the finger at each other or the builder of the building waving the 1 year warranty flag saying not our problem. But why would the building builder look for glue fingerprints after the install. Nor would they have the outside of the windows cleaned when they aren't that dirty. We were excited to buy the building so we had them cleaned so that we could look out our beautiful bay windows. The product is amazing and I have tried for weeks to get them to help me with this problem because I would love to use Win-dor products again but sadly both their customer service and their installation team are awful to deal with. I will never use this product again unless they make it right. I suggest you do not either because they will not help you. The warranty has nothing to do with sloppy installation I'm not asking them to replace the windows I'm simply asking them to send a crew to clean up the mess that they left. I think it's a very considerable ask, Especially considering the cost of these windows and doors. We did some home renovations and only did the kids windows at that time (through our gc). A few months later we decided to get our other windows done and decided to use Win-Dor. Our house was built in 1969 with original windows. We got the retrofit windows but I wasn't happy about the window sill that was in its original, bad condition. I was under the impression that it would be replaced as well. They said they didn't do it and that I should ask my gc. My gc said he would have to uninstall the window, replace the sill and reinstall it. Obviously I wasn't happy about this. I called customer service and was put in touch with the manager Phil who was completely on top of it. There was miscommunication on what parts of the window would be replaced and he did everything he could to make sure I was a happy customer. I never expect everything (esp in construction) to always go perfectly but always appreciate a company to go above and beyond when there's a hic I'm updating my review. We had blinds installed in our house after windor installed the windows. Due to the way they installed it, we weren't able to do any inside mount blinds. We had our contractor replace 3 windows when doing renovations and those were all done with space to do an inside mount. I regret using windor and wish they would've given more details if they had so many restrictions with the installation. read more

We bought multiple windows over several years, which we are generally pleased with. However, a few of the casement windows have broken handles and we are unable to open the windows. Win-Dor has not responded to phone calls or emails regarding requests for assistance repair. Since their window cranks are proprietary, other companies can not make the repairs. We purchased our beautiful doors from Win-Dor in Montclair on 3/25/04. We had a few issues, such as the screens not properly fitting, but they handled it and replaced them asap. Over the years we referred several customers to them, because let's face it their doors are beautiful and we thought they were a great quality product. Now fast forward 13 years. Our doors are splitting and during the heavy rains we had a significant leak, damaging our hardwood floors. For the past two weeks we have been trying to get a hold of someone to come out and take a look at our doors, we don't want to attempt to fix anything ourselves because it could void our warranty. My husband has made five separate phone calls to the Brea office (the Montclair site is no longer in business) and I am disappointed to say that not one of his calls has been returned. I had the misfortune to need a window replaced in my home, and had the good fortune to call Win-dor who introduced me to Mr. Stephon Tyson. I contacted Win-dor, a family owned business fabricating and installing windows, that has enjoyed an excellent reputation for decades. I received the basic information on the first call and told that an associate would be given all my information and that he would contact me shortly. The next day Mr. Stephon Tyson called me and explained the entire process in just enough detail to satisfy my concerns regarding time and expense. We set a time to meet at my house so he could make a personal inspection and fine tune the project. He showed up for the meeting exactly on time and efficiently took all the measurements and considered all possible difficulties that could occur. He even had some innovative design ideas that I hadn't thought of. Mr. Tyson told me he would have a proposal the next day. He called me early the following day and laid out the entire job in detail explaining how his design would save me time and money without sacrificing a beautiful application or functionality. He met with me again based on my schedule and explained the entire job again and went over the ream of paperwork that needed to be read, absorbed and signed. He was patient and highly professional and had a fine sense of humor to take the sting out of an unplanned repair. When the old window had been removed and gave up it's secrets Mr. Tyson called to tell me by altering the design configuration we could cut 20% of the cost. To say I was surprised and pleased falls short of the mark. He never had to do that and I would never had known. I would have over paid for something I had no expertise in, however I realized that Mr. Tyson was a kind and responsible professional who was not only interested in making a profit for his company but equally concerned for my well being and satisfaction. How refreshing is that in today's business world? The window looks great, was installed right on time and is built to last solely due to Mr. Tyson's diligence and efforts. Customer Support? Nope. Been trying to get help on an installed door that isn't sliding. Left voicemails, contact requests through their website and all I have heard is crickets. They did a nice install a while ago, but it seems by another posting is that once they leave, you are on your own. UPDATE: I found a number to their warehouse and distribution center in South County and got them (note - NOT Corporate) to send out someone. They could not send out someone for 5 weeks unless I accepted their one and only appointment availability on my birthday, which I did. On a positive note, the installer came out and fixed the issue. He was a very polite and professional person. Today (8/6/18 - 11 days after the repair work, 25 days after my original post and approximately 7 weeks after my initial attempts at contact), I got a call from the corporate person whom I left messages for but never got a response. She asked if all went well with the repair. I said yes and told her the positives about the repairman. The repairman needed to be recognized as he seemed like the only person who cared. I would have given Win-Dor a higher revised rating than 2 stars (my original rating was one star) but there was no apology given for the lack of response to my calls nor the inconvenience I experienced. Sadly, I don't think Win-Dor learned anything from the poor experience I had with them nor did they care. read more

We just had all our windows and patio doors replaced by Windor.....and they look fantastic! Our home looks so much better inside and out. And we've already received many compliments from our neighbors. I'm not joking I feel like we moved into a model home. Never thought new Windows would make such a huge difference. But Before we made our decision we researched Simonston, Milguard and a few other lower quality brands. At first we were very impressed with Milguard but the price was high. Simonston was a close second and was within our price range. Then we met with Stephon from Windor and everything changed. Stephon's knowledge and confidence in their products intrigued us but the quality of Windor's product sealed the deal. Immediately I could tell their products are constructed from high quality materials. Their products are solid. Much better than Miguard and Simonston. If you don't believe me go to their showroom/warehouse and see for yourself....or even better call Stephon (714-932-0342) direct and he can walk you through the process whether you decide to buy or not. Best characteristic about Stephon is that he isn't pushy. Installation took a standard two days. The installers were friendly and did a great job with the installation and cleanup. Win-Dor replaced all the windows and sliding doors in my house...large project. Overall, I was disappointed because the installation was extremely poor. Whats the point of nice windows, great service, if the installation is so poor?? See pics and details below. So many window options in Orange County.... 1) Sales - 5 Stars. Stephon was great to deal with..very responsive and easy to work with during the entire sales period. Also followed up. 2) Customer service - 4 stars. Overall pretty good, returned my calls and had good communication. 3) Product - 4.5 stars. Overall, I think the windows are very good. House stays warm, good insulation. There was a problem with the casing around one of our sliding doors (see pic) where it could not hold the weight of a window shade. 4) Installation - 0 stars. The installation was done by 2 very amateur guys who were more interested in getting done quickly. They hurried and made many mistakes. See all the pictures a) Several of the outside casings were poorly installed so they immediately fell off the wall b) 2 of the windows did not fit properly- you can see the gap between the window and the frame after it was fully closed c) they forgot to install the big traps so there was a large gap at the top and bottom of the sliding doors that let a big draft in d) when they came to fix the bug stops, they ended up breaking the whole window (see pic of entire window cracked) read more

It was our first time getting new windows and Win-dor made it easy. We bought an old house a few years ago and recently decided we just couldn't stand the old 1950s windows anymore. It was time to use that tax refund for some window upgrades! Being new at this, we were naturally nervous and didn't know what to expect. From the consultation, they put our minds at ease. They were professional from the start and explained everything thoroughly. They also didn't make us feel stupid for asking lots of questions. We were given a pretty good discount too and so decided to go with them. We also had another window consultation with Home Depot and were underwhelmed. With Home Depot, we'd pay a little bit less for average windows. We thought, for a little bit more, why not go with the company that specializes in windows? After we had the first consultation, there was another appointment for them to come get accurate window measurements. After that, our windows were installed. One thing I really appreciated was that they custom make their windows for you. Their windows don't come pre-made from some factory. They measure your window space and custom-make the window just for that space. Home Depot doesn't do that. Oh and I like how our new windows are earthquake proof, don't shatter easily, and have UV protection. Pretty awesome! The actual installation went by faster than expected. My husband and I received 3 other quotes from different companies/contractors before deciding on Win-dor. Don Santana was our salesperson. He did a great job explaining the products and was very professional. We had 3 windows replaced and 2 sliding doors at the end of February 2016. The quality is excellent! Dual pane, vinyl windows with automatic locks. I love the trim detail around the sliding doors. Our HOA requires the outside trim to be a bronze color and they were able to accommodate that, but also keep the trim white on the inside of the house. The doors and windows have significantly cut the outside noise (which is important when living across a busy park that has a baseball field!). I've also noticed that it's much less drafty during the cold evenings. The cost is very reasonable for the quality of the windows. It's great that it's made to order, so the windows actually fit the current size of your window frame rather than having them cut any stucco (like I have seen done from my neighbor's house from a different company and seeing them re patch it and repaint it which took several days to do...None of those things need to be done with Win-dor). It only took 1 day to install. The installers were courteous, even vacuuming up after themselves. I also appreciate that it's made in the USA and all their workers are actual employees of Win-dor and not outside contractors. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to replace their windows or doors. The price may be a little bit more than other companies (but less than other high end ones) but that is a small investment for quality and peace of mind. Don't 'EVER' use this company. I hired them to replaced all 29 windows and 4 sliding doors in my home on August 2007, back them $20,000 was a steep dollar price. Throughout the years I was having water leaks on many windows and showing on my ceilings. I was told was my roof as it was old so I replaced my entire roof on April 2017 right after painting the house and since then still have had leaks with some windows and sliding doors. Finally, I had a water intrusion company assessing the problem and confirmed the issue to be the windows. A couple of years ago I tried reaching out but never got a call back. Last year, I was more persistent and was referred to the warranty Customer care at WinDor. By April 2022, I had their inspection and they concurred that indeed I had windows and doors leaks. Our contract reads life time warranty; however, they tried to shift their responsibility arguing that the customer has to provide proper window care otherwise the warranty is waived. Well, I had my windows wash every year, and re-caulked when the exterior was painted and again last year around the problem windows. After several follow ups, they offered to re-caulked 9 windows and 1 sliding door that they identified as the problems (water damage was visible) for $220/hr and estimated to take 4 hours. So what happened to the life time warranty?? and what will be the fate of the other 20 windows and sliding doors? I asked them to reconsider their offer as I was willing to pay some labor cost but should include all 29 windows and 4 sliding doors, its only matter of time until the others fail. I am appalled at their steep per hour offer and to the fact that their installation or window product has failed and the flat out denial of their responsibility of holding up to a contract and written warranty. By the way, I never heard back from them. I spoke with other window companies and they heard of WinDor complaints because the window seals were removed at the time of retrofitting the windows. In my case, it seems I could have issues with installation and the product itself. This kind of companies can't continue to get away with selling a product, charging a pretty penny and not holding up to their contract. Now I am left with leaky windows, damage ceilings and using water buckets for water leaks when it rains. Definitely, a Business Bureau complaint is a must! read more

Welcomed by a gentleman, whom i don't wanna release name on, and was told that he can give me a quote "tonight" after I give him all the measurements. I gave him the measurements in the afternoon and I got a response next morning said it would be ready "this morning". Then I received no response for the whole day. I then reminded him the next day and finally got my quote. That quote, from a "factory direct store", is the HIGHEST among all my quotes from its competitors (Please note, when i say competitors, I did mean those ones with 50+ yelp reviews). Excellent experience all around. We've used them about a decade ago and they are still as great as before. It was great having them come out ahead of time to get measurements and finalize details. We live in a condo association and had to get approval before installation. WinDor has done most of the installs in our complex and had all the paperwork that was needed before approval. It was great and took out a lot of extra steps. The installation crew was fantastic. Miles and his crew were clean, timely and courteous. They did a great job keeping our flooring clean by putting out protective covers and they did a great job cleaning up at the end of the job also. Miles walked me through to show me all the windows and how to use the slider properly. The quality of these windows are excellent and the slider feels so sturdy. The amount of noise we DON'T hear now is insane. And it's great to get rid of those rattly metal windows and actually have a good airtight seal.
