I know it might seem odd to actually seek out an opportunity to do a review for a team--Dr. Ronald Swanger and tech Annikki-Fluoro (sp?), who jabbed needles and chemicals into both of my hips a couple of weeks ago at the Eureka office. But I was so anxious about the whole procedure, which was prescribed by my ortho doc for chronic arthritis in my hips. They both put me at ease and I must say, Dr. Swanger was so personable and expert at what he does that it almost felt like a semi-fun social outing. Seriously, there was virtually no pain during the procedure and the results since the steroid injections have been nothing short of miraculous. I had to have a CT scan done, I don't like hospitals , I hate IV and needles and I always get anxious and sometimes helpless when going! However , everyone working there made me feel so comfortable, even the front desk girl was super nice . The girl who greeted me and did the IV needle was super sweet as well! A special shout out to Lisa who performed my cat scan, she was super nice and answered all my questions and didn't at all patronize me for being scared, she really made everything feel so incredible easy ( and fun) , thanks a lot Lisa! I shouldn't even give this place a one star rating they know how many patients are scheduled and for what times and things still run extremely slow we checked in at the time they gave us and still we waited an hour just to be taken back. People coming here are irritable and in pain and do not need to waiting for this long especially when there is no other patients in the waiting room. I have been to both Reno diagnostic centers, the Sierra Rose location and Eureka. I have made my appointments ahead of time and have always been put through to the appropriate person. Sometimes they have to call me back but that is expected for the more specialized services. I've had mammograms, 3-D mammograms, a bone density test, dense breast specialized exam, ultrasounds as well as a fine needle biopsy. All went well without any complications, prompt results and on my more complicated biopsy I had two doctors in the room with me at once! The facility is always clean and most recently when I was in they had all their Covid procedures in place to make me feel safe going in. They took my temperature did the screening questions for Covid. This was streamline and efficient. In addition they had a special pens in the waiting room and cleaning procedures so I felt very safe. Came here to get a DEXA scan to see my body composition. Overall the experience was positive. Got there early in the morning so wasn't left waiting around all day. Here's what you really need to know: 1.) The scanner itself is a LUNAR Prodigy Advance. 2.) It's a bit old - I'm guessing 10-13 years old but it still functions fine. The big difference is in the output features. 3.) They don't let you take home the digital files. I'm not sure any place will let you but I'd really like to have the raw data or at least a spreadsheet format of the data output for record keeping purposes. Who wants to manually transcribe data? 4.) The output is good but missing some key parameters that you will find at other more athlete friendly DEXA centers - namely: No Fat Mass Index No VAT No Appendicular Lean Mass Index These aren't so important to me right now as I'm just beginning to get serious bout dieting but if I were an athlete I'd really want to have fine grained detailed numbers. read more

Unfortunately, during the Corona virus quarantine, I found a lump in my body and had to get it scanned in order to have any peace. I was terribly afraid to go in for imaging because of the Coronavirus, and did not want to risk going to the hospital. Thank goodness I found Reno Diagnostic Centers. It was extremely clean, they were screening at the door, everybody was wearing gloves and masks and constantly wiping everything down. From the interaction at the front desk on, everything felt extremely clean and safe. I was relieved to learn that they were not seeing any Covid patients. I can't imagine why anybody would risk going to the hospital at this time. In general, I would go back to Reno Diagnostic Centers any time. They were kind, friendly, safe, professional, and offer higher quality imaging than the hospital. read more

BEWARE!!!! This place is a HORRIBLE example of how a medical office should be run. First off my father, who is a senior had An appointment there a couple of weeks ago for some xrays. He fell and broke his back and is currently in a brace. He arrived for his appointment and proceeded to sit for 30 minutes as nobody had told him he had to be there 30 minutes early and he had another appointment scheduled for an MRI after. They then proceeded to take him back to a room where an assistant began to ask him a list of questions that he had already answered twice. My dad asked if they could hurry up due to his other appointment and the assistant then copped an attitude with him and became very rude. My dad got up and left and went to his mri appointment where he was told that this place had cancelled his appointment. He left a message for the supervisor and never received a call back. Fast forward to today where he gets dropped off for his xrays again. They then proceed to tell him he needs to pay $265 for his copay today which nobody had ever mentioned previously. My dad told them that he doesn't get paid until Wednesday and the front desk tells him he can't be seen unless he pays the $265. So my dad calls my brother to come pick him up and sits down to wait. While he is waiting a supervisor comes over and tells him she understand he isn't happy about the copay. My dad told her it had nothing to do with the copay only that he couldn't pay 265 until Wednesday. She then tells him that he only needed to pay 25 for the xrays the rest was for the MRI. So obviously the girl up front doesn't know what she is doing. At this point my dad is upset that they would make him come back a third time given his condition over $25. Keep in mind the first time he was there he made it back to the room with no mention of a copay whatsoever. My dad said he couldn't believe they treat their patients this way over a small copay and the manager proceeded to come back out of her office and tell him to keep talking and she would make him wait outside for my brother. I work in the healthcare field and I would never treat a patient this was. Especially a senior with a broken back. Be cautious when you go there. They Don't care about patients only money. I have already filed a grievance with the insurance company and I will continue to post anywhere and everywhere people can see this so that somebody else doesn't have the same horrible experience. read more

Dr. Swanger and Susan, X-ray tech, conducted a procedure under fluoroscopy. Susan took considerable time to explain the procedure, risks and after care instructions. Honestly, the procedure was done, and I thought Dr. Swanger had just started. I left within 30 minutes, including wait time, well informed and happy. I thought the service was excellent! They called me a couple of days prior to confirm appt. and made me aware they would require ID along with payment in my case as I'm self Insured, they also explained I would need to fill out some paperwork (as usual) gave me a pager (I like this as I was able to go back to my car and relax). About 15-20 minutes later the pager went off and I was received. I had 2 scans that were called for from my doctor. The CT scan was quickly explained to me by an assistant and I was told what to do. It took maybe 5 minutes or so. The technician (Lisa) greeted me afterwards (we chatted along the way) and walked me to my next technician (Jessica) for an ultrasound scan. Jessica made me feel very comfortable and she was also very professional and friendly. Thanks again for your service! read more

Excellent! Before I decided to schedule an appointment here, I called a few different times to ask several questions about the cost, insurance, and appointment availability and they were wonderful (I think I spoke to Kelsey). They were kind, professional and patient with me every time I called. I requested that my provider send the referral here instead of the place she originally sent it and she did. Before my appointment, they made sure I knew what to bring with me and what my copay would be. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt so comfortable, everyone was so nice. It only took about 15 minutes from the time I checked in to the time I was taken back to the exam room. The radiation tech who did my ultrasound was very knowledgeable and took the time to listen to me and my concerns. She didn't make me feel rushed or silly for asking questions. I highly recommend Reno Diagnostic Center and I will definitely be coming here again if I ever need imaging. I even signed up for Yelp just for this review. read more

I have had several procedures done at RDC on numerous occasions. There is always plenty of parking and the staff is always amazing and friendly. I have never waited longer than five minutes and my doctors received results very promptly. I have seen several radiologists but my favorite by far is Dr. Vijay Sekhon. His calming demeanor and extensive knowledge has been a tremendous comfort to me. Their prices are also better than most places in town. I fully recommend RDC to everyone. read more

I scheduled an MRI for my back in the beginning of February for today 3-6-22. Yesterday, Friday 3-5-22, I get a phone call at 3 pm telling me that they don't have something from my insurance, and that I need to call my insurance to get an authorization ID. She also informs me that she will be off at 4:30 so I have to try to get this all to her before she leaves for the day. So I scramble to call my insurance, and try to get everything worked out before this woman leaves. Long story short it didn't happen, so I had to miss my Saturday morning appointment. To say I was very disappointed was an understatement, very unprofessional to call me LESS THAN 24 HRS BEFORE, especially when I have had this appointment scheduled for a month now. Then I call today to try to rebook, and another woman says they have everything I need and no notes were written about my appointment having to be cancelled because of an insurance issue. In their system it was just a no show!? Now I have to call Monday to try to get an appointment in, which I'm sure will be another month wait. All of this extra stress is honestly hurting my back even more, I might just take my business elsewhere and you should too! read more

I went in 2 days ago to get Xrays and I waited for about an hour and still wasn't seen so I asked if I could make an appointment to come in the next day and she said sure so I came in the following day at my scheduled time. I checked in and she said it will be 20 minutes because my check in time was the appointment time but my .. (don't remember what hat she called it) time is (20 min later). I said ok so I sat down, 20 min later there was a lady on the floor and about 10 employees surrounding her trying to figure out what happened and how they could help her.. meanwhile about 10-15 min later a girl came up to me and said, "Are you ready?". I said , "well, ya, I was ready yesterday". She quickly quipped, "well, we had an emergency and you know people just have to wait when that happens". I said, "Oh, of course I understand that but I was here yesterday too". This girl talked over me ranting how busy they were blah blah blah as we were walking down the hall. So I let that go, thinking ok, whatever. As we get in this other room she opens the door to the dressing room and said, "Get undressed and put in this gown with the opening in he back and remove your necklace". I said, "I can't remove my necklace". She said, "you need to take it off". I said, it doesn't come off. She said, "ok" I asked her will happen and she said she would write that I refused to remove my necklace. I said, "ok". She then slams the door to the dressing room that I was in!!! I was instantly infuriated and opened the door and said "Do not slam the ** door!" She said "excuse me?". I said, "you didn't have to slam the door that was really rude!" She walked away and I proceeded to get undressed. The X-ray went fine, the technician asked me to hold my necklace in my mouth h so it didn't interfere with the X-ray. Bye, she was very nice and professional, total opposite of the other girl. Afterwards as I was leaving this lady called me in a room to ask me about the incident that happened. She said, "so I heard you called one of he employees a bad word name". I said no I told her not to slam the ** door on me. She kind of rolled her eyes and said next time please ask for a manager instead of yelling like I did. I told her I would but if that girl didn't slam he door I wouldn't have been angry and that she needs to learn how to be more professional. I feel like the lady that called me in he office was totally on the girls side. I wish she would have asked me what happened from the beginning so she could really understand but I guess that's just the way they are there. I don't look forward to going here again. read more

I feel like I need to update my initial review because of today. I took my 1 year old daughter in for follow up x-rays (note to self, Monday is probably not a good day for x-rays). Since they don't take appointments, there was already a 1.5 hr plus wait at 8:30am. They told me to give them a call later to check on wait times, since it wasn't a good idea to wait for that long with a 1 year old. Well, I tried calling about 7 times, and never got through to the front desk. So, don't waste your time. I went back around 11am to be told the same thing. I was also told they didn't have my daughters orders (which is funny because when I called scheduling at 8am, they told me they had them and read them to me). Only slightly dysfunctional at this trip. Because the prior trip was so good, I didn't dock them too many stars...just down from 5 to 3. read more

They receive one star because that is as low as it goes. My experience was terrible. They did not listen to my Medical history, prior surgeries, drug allergies, refused to look at UCDavis's Medicsl recommendation where to start the IV so they poked me unnecessarily, gave me drugs without proper administration, then did not endure my safety or that of my thing out of the building to my driver waiting in the parking lot. I was heavily sedated wandering in the parking lot. When following up afterwards less than helpful. Told my specialist that I was never seen there and documented in my chart poorly and stated they gave me no drugs. Danger danger stay away. read more

I chose Reno Diagnostic Center after doing cost comparison research. I had to have an MRI done and own an HSA/High Deductible Health Plan, so trying to control costs is huge. Although RDC was by far the most competitive price (In some cases less than half the cost of others), they didn't lack in service or quality. They have a 24 hour turnaround on results and were professional from start to finish. read more

I had been trying to call and schedule my exam but was having no luck getting a scheduled. I decided to try one last time before taking my business elsewhere. On this particular day the operator Rachel took my call. I humbly admit I was yelling and explaining my frustrations. Rachel quietly listened and when I was done yelling she calmly and sincerely apologized and explained they had been having some phone issues. She asked if I would be willing to give her a chance to turn this situation around and explained they really do care about their patients. I agreed and she proceeded with asking me if I could hold and actually waited for me to respond with yes or no! That never happens! Most people will just tell you to hold and put you on hold! Not Rachel, she was very kind and professional. I held for a bit and she came back and thanked me for my patience and explained she was still trying to find an available scheduler but did want to let me know she had not forgotten about me. A few moments went by and she returned thanking me again for my patience and explained she found a scheduler and was going to transfer me directly and told me to have a lovely day. I honestly was impressed with her. She really did turn that entire situation around for me. You just do not see that now days. Way to go Rachel! If you need to get scheduled for a test call Reno Diagnostics, if you are lucky you will get the pleasure of speaking with The operator Rachel. What a rare diamond she is. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about RDC! After my doctor's office sent over the MRI request order, RDC called me to schedule an appointment and got me in the following day. There was plenty of shaded parking and the front desk staff was friendly and quick. I got my paperwork done and was called back almost instantly. The scan was very quick and comfortable and the machinery was quiet; although, they did provide earplugs. I could've taken a quick nap! I was in constant communication with the staff during the scan as they kept me updated on the length of each scan segment. Overall, I was very impressed with the efficiency and friendliness of every staff member I dealt with. I would definitely recommend RDC! read more

Watch out for the extra mammogram form trying to get you to sign up for the 3D imaging. They listed that our insurance would cover $108 and make you think it is a covered item. Our insurance did not cover this and we were billed the full amount. However if you check the box to pay out of pocket it is only $70 the extra $38 is for the processing according to Katie(refused last name) and no break at all. So beware that even though they list a dollar amount it is not true. Sad way to do business and our family will not be coming back. Not into deceitful practices. read more

Great experience! Susan Kato was my x-ray technician for my L-spine x-ray series. She was extremely friendly, outgoing, and funny. She went above and beyond to make sure the x-ray images were of high fidelity and quality, retaking several images become my spine anatomy is unusual. She was very professional and knowledgeable as well. Even though I was her second to last appointment after a busy day, she was thorough and didn't rush the appointment. She even took extra time to document further information about my positioning in order to relay the most accurate information to the radiologist. I've been dealing with this lower back pain for several months and Susan really went the extra mile to make sure the radiologist and my referring physician get the most complete picture in order to help me get better. Finally, as a grad student, my health insurance doesn't cover imaging and I had to do cash pay. Reno Diagnostic had the lowest price that I found for this x-ray series. Thank you! read more

I had a very pleasant and comfortable experience at Reno Diagnostic Centers. I had called them to make an appointment on a Thursday and they were able to get me an appointment in less than a week. I had to have an ultrasound done and they asked me if I had a preference of a male or female tech, which I thought to be very considerate. The day after I made the appointment they called again to remind me of the time and to give me all of the necessary instructions. Before I even stepped foot in the door I was impressed my the level of customer care. Once I arrived, I was able to check in within moments, filled out a little paperwork, and was ready to go. I was informed that the appointment would take a little over an hour, but it took less than 30 minutes. My tech was awesome - super professional, friendly, and informative. I was quite nervous about the whole thing, and she put me right at ease. The whole process was super easy and they made sure to get results to my PCP the same day. They also take Medicaid FYI.
