This a special shoutout to Luis! He went above and beyond when dropping off our washer and dryer and I appreciated it so much. I'm a stay at home mom and my 2 year old son was 'supervising' the whole time and Luis was so sweet to both me and him and even made him a little 'house' out of one of the boxes leftover(made a window and all) and my son has been busy for about an hour now with it. We had used them about 18 months ago for a sofa for our living room, the rent to own option fit our budget and the payments were affordable. So since we had such a positive experience we decided to go with them again and am I glad we did! We purchased a large sectional for our family room for a fraction of the price at a brand furniture store. The delivery of our items went off without a hitch. This is my second time around going into RAC for temporary furniture. I travel a lot due to 18-month contracts and haul around furniture every time. Two years ago this was my store of choice and now being back in San Diego, they have earned my service again! We set up our apartment and the couch we had didn't match so they found us a match and switched. I just payed off my couches that I have been paying off since January of 2013. I will probably never recommend this place or be customer again. I walked in today to make my last payment and the lady was like I'm on my lunch I can't help you. I'm looking at her like seriously? She comes back after she can't find anyone else to help me. She said an amount that wasn't even accurate for the amount that was actually due. I had to tell her the correct amount. Then she gave me another amount due and I had to explain to her that this is my last payment. The man overt the phone told me I have a Balance of $60 due. She went from $77 to $80 to $60. I'm like do you even know what your doing? This sits very uneasy with me as she is handling customers payments? I'm happy with my couches but not with this entire experience. Very unprofessional, Not knowledgable, waste of time and money. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Worst customer service ever! Was supposed to have my couch delivered today between 1-3 and my husband called after 3 wondering where the couch was and they said they forgot to call them that there having a delay on the delivery and it should be there no later than 5 and 5 comes around still no couch they said another 20 minutes. 20 minutes goes by nothing. THEN they stopped answering his calls. So unprofessional. My sister called any they answered her and they said ANOTHER 15 minutes. Couch gets here and there waiting their car doing nothing. I had plans for 6pm and they are taking there sweet time. I do not recommend this place. Will never get anything from them again!! read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! Let me start by saying that this places has some of the laziest people working there. When you walk in through the door don't expect to be greeted, a smile or to asked if you need help! My biggest problem there was with the woman!! They have absolutely no customer skills they have a large amount of attitude and look as if there miserable working there! They do absolutely nothing to help you find what you're looking for or suggest anything else and God forbid it's near closing time because they come up with lame excuses to get you out the store such as our systems are down at the moment or the barcodes aren't being accepted in the systems! Letty is THE WORST worker at this location! I am more willing to work with Anthony, he's been a great help with everything but the older lady Letty is rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, and she needs to be fired! Our son and his buddy just returned from deployment/relocation and needed some furniture until theirs arrived from their originating port. Jason and Elisa couldn't have been any more accommodating. I now know that I will NEVER refer anyone, not even my worst enemies to this place. I've always had issues with this place from the day I moved here from northern California but due to my mediocre credit, I kept coming back. My mistake :-( I'm now working on my credit score so I don't have to depend on a low down place like this. I'm not saying that all Rent A Centers are like this but I know I will never do business with Rent A Center in Chula Vista again. As for the most recent reason why I will no longer be a customer, is because I needed maintenance done on a washer machine that I'm making payments on. When I called the rep stated that someone would call me at 2pm that day. I left work early and had not received a call back at 2pm. So I called them, that rep stated that he is scheduling me for 4-5pm and someone will call me to let me know that their on their way 15 minutes prior to showing up. As you guessed it, no call and nobody showed up. So I took off of work for absolutely nothing!!! I called today and asked the manager (Francisco) if this was the way that they treated their customers, he giggled and said no. He asked if there was a time that I can meet them there, I let him know I could be there if they were going to compensate me for not being at work to come and meet them.... AGAIN. That answer was a no as well. These people want their money on time but can't even show up to repair their crappy products at a time that is promised and convienet for the customer. The least they can do is give me a weeks payment or two off and/or have someone meet me at my home at a time that is convenient for me. Like a weekend or after 5:30pm Mon-Fri. I'm considered low income and work check to check. I go to work for my family and to be able to pay my bills. So if I have to take off for absolutely nothing, it really pisses me off! I've dealt with this company for years and I've never had any major problems. My local store in IB was closed down and I had no choice but to go to this one. The lady that attended me was professional and really helpful. Signed the contract gave first payment and got a delivery appointment. The appointment fell thru and nobody bothered to call me. It bothered me that I had to call them only to find out that they were unable to delivery my paid merchandise and were unable to give me a date on when they would be able to deliver. How do you pay to rent/own merchandise and not receive your product? After failed attempts of me trying to schedule a delivery date I then decided to call corporate. The district manager contacted me and resolved the issue really fast. We are going thru a family emergency. My in laws moved in with us and as a result we moved out to get a bigger place and surprise, surprise now I am having issues having them pick up their merchandise. I am no longer paying for the furniture and I have informed them I was to turn in my apartment 2 weeks ago and have yet to hear from them. It seems that when it comes to customer service, and taking payments they're grate but when it comes to delivery or pick up they have horrible issues which leads me to wonder how they run good business. They delivery young man has often asked us to help load/unload the merchandise! Are you kidding me? That's your job! And we have bad backs! The young man has an older gentleman helping him whom they appear to keep around because he fixes/refurbishes the furniture. The young man delivering needs help but for whatever reason the company won't hire more delivery people. They shut down one location to save money. We stopped in front of the Rent-A-Center on Shaw and Chula Vista at 10 90 3rd Street we went to the grocery store right next to it and bought groceries and as we unloaded our cart and as we're putting stuff in our car the security guard came out and yelled at us and told us to move those shopping cart we told him I'm moving in a minute and he's coming out 3 come out 3 times while we were loading stuff up telling us to move the shopping cart and then goes back in it's the lady in the store she comes out yelling telling us to move the shopping cart we told her where we will in a second cuz we were busy we were putting things away and getting the kids put back in the car and they're yelling at us and calling his name so I don't think the people in the store very friendly and I would never shop here there was absolutely no reason for them to say or do anything we were Finn the right and there was plenty of parking around as it's not like we're holding up partying or doing anything we were going to go in the store and do some looking around because I'm looking for a TV but I'll never do it again the rudest store I've ever been to read more

This is respond to Kim H post. Her post is completely inaccurate. I was actually there as a consumer when this happened. These two women had left a cart in a spot for that is meant as a parking space for their customers. A gentlemen asked them kindly if they would move their cart when they started yelling insults and profanities out the window. I'm assuming that the lady that came out was in charge and didn't like the way her coworker was treated. She also asked nicely if they could move the cart and they continued to yell profanities. Never have I seen two grown women act like this when asked to do a simple task. The employees of the store were nothing but courteous and dealt with it professionally. Both employees left and went back inside without saying a word as profanities were yelled at them. I don't like seeing good people get negative reviews because people are sometimes just scumbags. read more

First off stay far from this place I have done business with this store twice both times I had a bad experience. The first time I wasnt to bad the only thing was that I got a very rude phone call from one of the staff members talking to me like I was an idiot due to me being one day late on a payment in which I wasnt.when I corrected him he had nothing to say.I wish I knew his name cause he did this several more times till I told them im just gona return the product.The second time which was very recent I came back for another tv which I gave them benfit of the doubt and gave them my business they made me jump through hoops for peoples number references and of the such and bank statements which they said if I got I would get my product that day I turned in my documents to them when they said they told me that my product would be at my house around 5. I waited till around 6:30 still nothing so I called they advised me everything went through bit there driver was stuck doing something else that I would have to wait till the next day at 11.so the next day 11 came so I called they said my references didnt clear so I had to give them another one it took them till 5:30 to deliver.the last thing just today I went in and let them know I was injured and I was gona pay them in a couple weeks cause I just payed them thet said I only cleared one week due to me paying late which made no sense if they took my money and gave me a receipt. well now they said they canceled my account after I payed 200 or so bux on the product and didn't even give me the offer to frezz till I get back to work and to reapplie which means I would have to pay everything all over again ridiculous the manager was the one who said it was quote "its that simple" to the person that was helping me now there gona pick up my product.
