We Have no choice.. there is no other garbage company I can hire.. my problem is this, We live in this same house 30+years, My Veteran Spouse is eligible to have backyard pick up for many years now.. but we only started using this service 3months ago and since then.. its a hit and miss service, I complain of ex. recycle bin still in front of my house since monday ,I call daily and its now friday and.. YUP, still here. I think they are my top worst customer service Ive ever had to deal with. I say obligated because how else do I get rid of my garbage? The route drivers could care less about the quality of their work specifically in my case the recycle driver. The phone operators are monotonous scripted people that seem unhappy and over worked. They have no reaction good or bad when you call after long wait periods. I call and can do my dishes and laundry by the time they answer the hold. I have had major problems with our route with the blue bin recycle container. This is 4 time I call about this. Many times I have to leave for work and just have to hang up. I called today and found out their staff is not even local-it is a call center in Arizona. They are super picky and demanding when it comes to how your garbage and/or recycle bin must be yet they miss pick ups and don't empty the cans correctly. Yet my bill always arrives on time and always paid in full each time. The powers at be need to seriously look into this and their faulty service as well as phone customer service. My bulky waste that is twice a year is not even available till next year yet they will count it as a 2021 pick up-even though I have only used 1 for the 2020 year. They don't inform customers of anything even though they have our mailing address and emails. All around terrible and disappointed in Republic services. We never had these problems when we lived in Hayward. read more

I found that Republic service is reliable. This is the most important thing when I try to get rid of the junks/ trashes. They have 2 free bulk item pickup a year. It's very critical that the truck shows up for the bulky 6x6x6' pile that we worked on and moved out with 2 people for the cal king mattress, couch, bed frame ... that we normally have no way to get rid of. Really appreciate that Replybluc always showed up on the scheduled days and helped us get rid of them with no misses. read more

The only issue I have is with the compost truck that always left a mess on the street for me to clean up. The latest was yesterday, 4/25, that the driver had to returned twice to clean up himself & afterwards I had to clean up once myself. Imaged what a big mess it was created yesterday. My video camera captured all moments of the clean ups. Could the driver be more careful & not in such a hurry to put down the compost bin? It not only happened to me but to my neighbors also which of course had to clean up their areas. read more

Out of the blue they swapped my bin to a smaller one for no reason and I've called them many times over last couple of months to get the previous regular size and they keep saying they will deliver on a certain date but it never happens. read more

My 35 green bin disappeared within 3 minutes after the blue truck left according to my security camera yesterday. I called RS and was told sometimes the bin drops by accident in the truck and the driver cannot retrieve it due to safety reasons. Now I have to wait a full week to get a replacement bin while dealing with smelly food waste and yard trimmings without a proper place to dump then since the rep told me I need to wait a week to get a replacement bin. I've had multiple instances of missed regular pickups and while customer service seems happy to schedule additional pickups during the week, they never end up coming, leading to piles of trash building up. Apparently everyone over the age of 70 is entitled to a senior citizen's discount in accordance with the agreement they have in place with the City of Fremont. However, getting that discount is another thing. Their website mentions a Senior Citizen discount form. BUT that form is nowhere to be found on their website. This is the worst garbage service ever. My trash bin was "mistakenly" drop into the truck garbage by the driver and the driver told us that they cannot go back there and get it, and that we will get a new bin. It's been 2 months and we still haven't received a bin. There customer service kept telling us it'll come the week after and the week after and it's been 2 months with no garbage. We called, spoke to a manger and he gave the same answer there customer service did. So we have to pay for the mistake of there driver!!?? Unfortunately we live in a area that everyone uses this service because that's all we have or know of. I just noticed my bill increased 10% from $129.99 to $143.44 without any prior notices. It caught me by surprise as it exceeded my preset auto-pay limit and the auto-pay failed. That was how I found out. In fact, their web site does not even list the new 2022 price list as of today. What a sneaky way to increase the price! In replying to the Republic Services comment, this is not an isolated issue specific to my account, so there is no need for me to contact your customer service. This applies to the whole city of Fremont, CA. Just be transparent on your pricing and disclose your fee on your web site. Why Fremont continues to use these guys is baffling besides that we're probably stuck in a long term contract with and they're probably cheaper than other garbage disposal services. These guys miss pickups for our trash or recycling routinely. And they never pick up their phone for us to remind them that they have a job to do, of which we are paying for. I read a couple reviews to make sure I'm not the only one waiting hours on end to reach a live person. Three days in a row I call Republic Service and wait over an hour and I am not able to reach someone. I get we are in a pandemic, but I find the wait time to be absurd. The reason I called was for some reason, the company decided to take all three bins from my property on garbage day and did not leave a note, call, or email as to why they took the bins. This company is very unprofessional. They missed our commercial pickup THREE WEEKS IN A ROW NOW. We called and were told again and again someone would come and pick up the next day, however, our trash is still there when we open business the next day. VERY DISAPPOINTED. My regular pick up day is Thursday and when I get home from work I notice that the recycle bin is still 3/4 full I call them And they tell me they will be there on Friday to pick up but when I get home it's still not empty and that they can't come until Monday we'll it's Monday and still no pick up. I thought I would write a final update for my experience with Republic Services after moving out of the area. As the service is pre-paid, I was entitled to a prorated refund for my final month of garbage collection. The standard process with every other utility is to call, cancel your service, and provide a forwarding address. They then send you a check for the difference. However, as you could imagine that is not the case with Republic Services. They will immediately issue you a credit invoice but never send you a refund (despite stating they would when calling to cancel with forwarding address). You have to call again, wait on hold for 20+ minutes, and ask it to be sent. When I asked why this wasn't automatic, the rep made up some nonsensical excuse about it being "stuck". I'm sure this is just another tactic they use to hold on to customers money after they leave the area (and forget about their remaining credit). Terrible. read more

Probably the worst disposal service I have had to deal with in my life. Numerous time I've had to call to have an extra cart left in front of my house to be picked up. It took me literally 7 different phone calls on 7 different occasions within a span of several months for them to finally come and pick up the cart. And then recently in the last month, they didn't pick up my compost for some strange reason. I had to make multiple calls to have them finally pick it up. Another time when I scheduled for them to pick up for a missed pick up, they didn't show up so I was stuck with a compost cart over the weekend. read more

Last year in December 2021 I called Republic Services to schedule a bulky pickup for December. I was informed that the first date available for my bulky pickup is in January 2022. Due to the fact that this was scheduled for the following year I was concerned because I wanted to make sure that this pickup is counted as a pickup for the year 2021 instead of a pickup for the year 2022. Republic Services assured me that after my January pickup I will still be able to get two free bulky pickups for the year 2022. Believing that I called today to schedule my second bulky pickup in December and I was informed by Rose that I already had two bulky pickups for this year. I explained to Rose that the January pickup was for last year when I called back in December 2021. Rose informed me that they do not roll over the pickups and counted my January 2022 pickup for the year 2022 instead of for the year 2021. I explained to Rose that's not what I was informed last year. She put me on hold and came back to tell me that there is no bulky pickup available for me in December and that she has no schedule available for January 2023. Due to their poor service availability I asked Rose for the name of her manager and she hung up the phone on me. I'm rating Republic Services one star because they don't honor their word to schedule my bulky pickup as they informed me last year. Two years in a row with no bulky pickup available for the month of December deserves one star only. read more

Edit: After getting a reply to this review, I was finally contacted by the company who confirmed the pick up date. I am changing my review from 1 star to 3 stars. Obviously, I cannot give 5 stars because customers should not have to go through this much trouble. I requested a bulk pick up on Fri, Nov 29. There was some confusion as to the scheduled date, so I asked them to confirm the scheduled appointment. They refused to answer the question. After asking several times, they simply forwarded me an old email they had sent which does not answer the question at all. If you try to call them, at any time of day, you are told they are "experiencing high call volume" and have to wait for anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour before someone picks up. The irony is their customer email address contains the words "customer first" when they clearly put the customer last. read more

At our business it is hit or miss on the green bin, feels like they are doing us a favor by picking up the yard waste. When I complain about their lack of pick up/ask for credit it seems like all of a sudden we don't speak the same language. VERY FRUSTRATING. This is a school. Horrible customer service! I work for a construction company and constantly ordering temporary dumpster for my job sites and this is just one of the worst companies to work with. It's should be easy and it isn't. I called to order a temporary dry trash bin. One person transferred me to a construction representative and that person transferred me to back because she don't do 3yrd dumpsters.
