I am a Marriott Bonvoy Gold member and this was one of the most uncomfortable hotel experiences I have had. Earlier in the day, I requested housekeeping service for our suite. When I returned, the room had not been cleaned. While I was understanding about the delay, there was a large amount of garbage built up in the room, which had become a safety concern, so I called and asked for trash removal and requested housekeeping for the following day. Staff did come and remove the garbage. About an hour later, I had to call again because there was no toilet paper in the room. Shortly after those two service calls, the front desk contacted me and stated that my room had already been cleaned which was completely untrue. The timing made it feel as though the accusation was made only after the staff realized multiple service failures had occurred. If the room had been cleaned, there would not have been garbage needing removal or basic supplies missing. Instead of apologizing for the missed housekeeping or offering to resolve the situation, the response became defensive and accusatory, as though blame was being shifted rather than accountability taken. Because of how uncomfortable and disrespected we felt, we chose to check out early and leave the property. What is even more disappointing is that despite reporting this incident and being a Marriott Bonvoy rewards member, no one from Marriott has reached out to acknowledge what happened, offer an apology, or provide any form of service recovery. Mistakes happen but deflecting responsibility, accusing a guest of dishonesty, and failing to follow up afterward is unacceptable and far below Marriott standards. read more

Our family met in Pigeon Forge this Thanksgiving, and we chose the Residence Inn for our stay. The hotel itself is fairly new and has many of the updated features that Marriott is implementing in this brand. We rented two rooms. While one room was okay at first glance, the other had a filthy bathroom and no towels provided upon check-in--not the first impression we were hoping for. It was as if the room wasn't fully cleaned. The inconveniences continued throughout our stay. On Thanksgiving Day, we discovered our kitchen sink was completely clogged. We reported the issue immediately and were told maintenance would address it. We stayed until Saturday, and no one ever came to fix the sink. We were left looking at a clogged, unusable sink for days, forcing us to use our relatives' room for basic needs. Furthermore, the WiFi was completely out for our entire stay, with a sign posted saying the fix date was unknown. My spouse had to cancel a crucial work call because of this outage. We felt strongly that guests should have been notified about such a significant issue prior to arrival. Despite our Titanium Elite status with Marriott, we were also denied a late check-out, which compounded the feeling that our experience was not valued. On a positive note, the breakfast each morning was excellent. The employees did a fantastic job ensuring everything was fresh and hot, offering fresh eggs and even veggie sausage--a cut above many other free hotel breakfasts. Most staff members were friendly and helpful, trying their best to assist us with our many issues and relaying our concerns to management, although management never followed up directly regarding compensation for our numerous inconveniences. We also received a call from staff about some pet medicines we left, they offered to mail it which was nice. They said they didn't know we had pets and said they would be adding a pet fee to our room despite all of the inconveniences we experienced. We have stayed at numerous Residence Inns across the country, but unfortunately, this is one location we will not be returning to. read more

Our room was only "cleaned" one time during our 6 day stay. By cleaned I mean new towels and not even the bed made. The rooms are very spacious and modern which is why I am giving 3 stars. read more

I really like this hotel and it's amenities. (living/kitchen + seperate bedroom) Hotel is modern; well-designed. Employees are very gracious and helpful. Details that make things better: (1) the shower head and handle are on opposite ends of the walk in shower, making it great to regulate water temperature before stepping into shower. (2) Convenient table and counter height stools that are movable/ if needed. (3) Generous supplies (dishwashing detergent, dishwasher powder, combo sponge/scratch pad, paper towels) (4) Nice dishes, pots & pans (5) Nice towel sets (5) Comfortable sofa/moveable ottoman, comfortable desk chair and so much more. Unfortunately, there were some less than desireable details. Whoever had mopped the bathroom floor had done a 1/2 job. The tile floor was mostly clean except for the areas behind the toilet and around the baseboards (see photos). The @Whirlpool refrigerator has an "issue." Apparently the freezer defrosts, and the water will actually drain into the shelves of the bottom refrigerator. We reported it, thinking it needed to be repaired, only to find out every refrigerator in the building does the same thing. We had food sitting in puddles of water until we placed towels under the drain. When they become soaked, we simply put a fresh stack of towels under the back right side of the top shelf to keep from having our food sitting in the puddles. Not sure why @Marriott would not hold @Whirlpool accountable for this problem. Or why @Marriott even purchased fridges with this problem. But, YES! We would stay here again. The mattress was comfortable. The kitchen was well thought out. The room was spacious. The large windows was wonderful. The privacy shades kept the glare out, and the drapes could be closed to black out the sun, allowing for a wonderful nights sleep. Plenty of parking as well. We ate breakfast in our room, but usually picked up some fruit, muffins, sausage, etc. to add to our meals. read more

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful hotel and when I got home I couldn't find my favorite sweater. Jackson helped me look for it and involved Tracey, the head of housekeeping. They even checked with the laundry for it. The sweater was located and the extra effort the fabulous employees is much appreciated. Everyone went out of their way to help me. We were excited to enjoy a few days at this new Residence Inn property. The hotel is beautiful. Our room was very clean & had a nice view of the island. Shower water was hot but pressure left something to be desired. The breakfast was delicious. My husband was happy to see biscuits & gravy. On check in we were informed that the hot tub was open & 103°. When we returned from dinner the front desk informed us that the hot tub was broke but they turned the outdoor pool temperature up. The pool felt like a warm bath & hot tub was like a cold plunge. Our primary reason for booking this hotel was to enjoy an outdoor hot tub. We were disappointed and changed hotels after one night. read more

Booked two nights here. Hotel is located near the Cal Ripken field so, as expected, the hotel was filled with traveling baseball teams. Brought back great memories for our family. Front desk employee was pleasant and helpful, rooms were spacious and clean, location was ideal (across from Islands at Pigeon Forge) and so many other attractions. In spite of this hotel being packed for the Memorial Day weekend, it was surprisingly quiet. Great stay. Will definitely return! read more

I walked in, dressed appropriately, to this esteemed location only to be RUDELY asked "Hey BUD, you staying here?" I calmly addressed the man that I am not yet staying there and before I could even finish my thought, I was told "Gotta leave." Not by security or a manager, but by some random gentleman! I do not want to assume that I was RACIALLY PROFILED however I could not help but notice that he did not question any one else walking in. Odd Tod was super nice and helpful upon arrival when checking in. Our room had a full kitchen and living area separate from bedroom which was very nice and comfortable. Basic complimentary breakfast and nice gym. Location of hotel was easy to drive anywhere around Pigeon Forge or 20 mins away from Gatlinburg. read more

I loved this place! It was off the main road in Pigeon Forge, so it was much more quiet than other options. We stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. No foot traffic from tourists, which I liked. It's new, smelled nice and was clean, clean, clean. The pool was a good size and had a beach style walk-in area. A couple extra lounge chairs would be good, though. The spa heater wasn't functioning, but that can happen from time to time. Some guests used the bbq area to cook and seemed to enjoy it. There was a fire pit with seating around near the bbq. The hotel is located on a hill so you can overlook some of Pigeon Forge. The workout room was big and had free weights, but no weight machines. It was clean and open 24 hours, which is a huge plus. It also offered a filtered water machine. The breakfast was complimentary and had numerous choices. Staff kept it clean and restocked. They have a dog area and provide potty bags. They had three sets of washers and dryers, which we used during our stay. Parking is decent. I would have appreciated a better stocked "market" area in the lobby for late night snacks. They don't offer alcohol options, either. If you don't mind a bit of walk, there is a strip mall nearby with Guy Fieri's restaurant and arcade (which was really fun), a cinnamon roll shop, distillery and coffee shop. A grocery store is also located within walking distance (and a Marshall's if you need to pick something up). Overall, extremely satisfied with our stay and would stay again in the future. read more

We recently stayed at this Residence Inn by Marriott starting on 4/21/24 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We had a few minor issues, but they were rectified by the staff in a timely manner. Upon entering the room it had the modern decor that we're used to, so it felt like home. However, the fragrance in the room was absolutely overwhelming! I have severe fragrance allergies among others, but luckily we brought an air purifier which quickly purified the air. Our air purifier provides a number which tells the quality of the air.....it was initially 37 when we turned it on. Once we ran it for approximately 40 mins, it quickly improved the air to a perfect score of 0! So, if you have fragrance allergies...come prepared. It would also be a nice "upgrade" for maybe $5 per night, if this hotel has a select number of quality air purifiers/sanitizers available to check out at the front desk like a few other hotels. Maybe this will become an option in the near future for guests. Moving along...the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed for our stay, a full size refrigerator, dishwasher, cooktop (too bad not a full size range), ice bin (ice machine in the hallway), extra paper towels under the kitchen sink, coffee maker w/coffee, utensils, silverware, dinnerware, decent size dining area etc. However, I'd like to suggest a full size garbage can in the kitchen since these units are catered towards families and longer stays. The bedroom and bathroom door were open upon arrival so we didn't pay much attention until later that night, but the doors were super squeaky and woke me up during the night, however we didn't inform anyone since it was the middle of the night. Also, the air vent in the bedroom had quite a bit of visible dust. Once again, due to dust mite allergies, I wish it had been thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival but most people probably don't think about this or have the time to do a detailed check on a regular basis, so we came prepared with our tiny handheld vac. Lastly, after a long drive, once it was time for us to call it a night, we realized the sofa bed didn't have any bedding. A pillow was stored in the bedroom closet, but no bedding. A quick call to the front desk and this issue was resolved and we slept very well! The beds were very comfortable, sheets were clean but the pillows were lacking! We also encountered housekeeping during our stay and they were so helpful, down to earth, accommodating and great about bringing us extra towels, washcloths, trash bags and tissues. I must say that everyone was super friendly and welcoming! We always wonder about this when we travel, since we're a multiracial family, but we had absolutely no issues. We enjoyed the fitness center and the ample parking lot was superb! The pool, hot tub and patio area were very beautiful but we simply didn't have enough time to check them out due to our busy schedule. Overall, we felt very safe due to numerous security cameras throughout the property and the front desk staff. Although it wasn't a perfect stay, we enjoyed our stay so much that we're returning next week and requested the same room, so hopefully the stay is just as good if not better. We spent a long time researching a place to stay on vacation in Pigeon Forge and decided on the Residence Inn. It was a great decision. It is a beautiful hotel. The staff is nice. The place is quiet. The kids loved the pool. The breakfast was what you would expect at a place like this. And the location is perfect. If we go back to Pigeon Forge, we will definitely return to Residence Inn. read more
