The staff is very, very accommodating. Jill is the GM and made our welcome pleasant. Marriott pulled through in allowing me to use one of my room upgrades. I had reserved 3 rooms. Arrived the day before thanksgiving shortly after noon. Jill was having a staff thanksgiving luncheon. She left her plate to attend to our check in. Awesome!! The hotel was immaculate. The only disappointment was the breakfast offerings for the two days we tried to eat there. Understandable that one morning was thanksgiving but not understanding why it was not better the next morning. I am writing this for the second time, they were anything but professional, they didn't know customer service, they didn't make eye contact, the maids pretend they can't speak English but do a great job if you take a towel. RUDE, inconsiderate, AC didn't work then dishwasher, then one puppy one small accident they were sick of me reporting them to corporate so two days before they were having their staff Thanksgiving dinner, they were giving me 12 hours to move. I am 63 with two small dogs and was burned out of my home. Without warning because being called out for less than customer service. PET people they leave debree on the floor that could cause your animal to end up at the vet BE CAREFUL. Where are all my write ups about my horrible experience, they allowed to remove them. The hotel is nice. The staff is friendly and welcomed me with two bottles of water. They even followed my detailed request for the type of room and location in the building I wanted to be placed. There is plenty of parking. A pool and gym. The suites are nice. With a kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, full size fridge/freezer and electric cooktop. A dining cafe table, a desk, a sleeper sectional sofa and queen bed. The only thing I did notice about the hotel is it definitely is a "residence" inn. It appeared that families were living in the hotel. Kids playing in the hallways on the lower level. And smells of different ethnic cooking all throughout the hallways. But I will tell you I slept good where I was located. I didn't hear any noise on my floor and wing of the property and I was grateful of that. I recommend this hotel. read more

HVAC system broken (room was 81 degrees), though we were ultimately moved to an alternate room. Lock was broken off the door in the new room. Window locks/sashes broken. Couch smelled like urine. Rooms very dirty/moldy. Paint chipped everywhere. Toilet seat was broken off of the toilet. No linens provided for pull out sofa. Bed was hard as a rock and pillows were old and lumpy. Bed sheets were like sandpaper. No ice machine in the hotel - advised to use old ice in the freezer left over from prior guests instead. Amazing! My family needed a place to stay overnight between Pennsylvania and Maine and we choose this place at random. Makayla was so helpful in getting us the King bedroom suite with two bedrooms/bathrooms plus kitchenette and even applied a military discount for us. She also gave us a list of local restaurants and helped us with the marketplace. The room was spacious and clean. We were able to shower two at a time due to there being two bathrooms. A total of three televisions meant everyone could watch whatever they wanted. We had a nice dinner in at the kitchen table. Would definitely stay here again!!! read more

This is a Marriott, so I expected an assault of on-property signage guaranteeing me that their perma-grinned staff will do everything and anything to deliver an exceptional experience within the reasonable limits of good taste. Fantastic. Let's take a shower together. First there's the humongous "rain forest" shower head promising eight minutes of succor as I wash the cares of the day away. Well... it looked that way on their website... Silly rabbit, this device must have prostate issues since water literally trickles out at the Niagaran rate of nine drops per minute only to double my delight by the presence of soft water that guarantees a leisurely 45 minutes to wash the shampoo out of my hair. No fix says the front desk because this hotel is "environmentally friendly." A competent shower is the minimum cost-of-entry at any hotel regardless of price point or melting ice caps - by that measure the Worcester Residence Inn is a complete and utter fail. read more

First let me say the staff at this hotel was outstanding. We stay in Residence Inns all over the country and this property was by far the worst we encountered. Pets are allowed, but there is no where on the property to walk your pets. We were told we could cross the street to walk our dogs on another property. The breed or size of dogs is not screened so dangerous breeds of dogs were present and left off leash to present a danger to other guests, their children and pets. The grounds were littered with all types of trash including liquor bottles and pet waste. Large gatherings were present in the parking area that made it difficult to walk our pets. The staff was remarkable and responsive to our concerns. I believe they did the best they could. read more

Stayed here for a business trip and forgot my AirPods in my room. Called them when I realized and spoke to Joanne who said she would go look in the room. Sent her an email with screenshots of the exact location of my AirPods in the same room I stayed in. After 2 days of silence I called again and she said she will go look today. Called back later that day and she had gone on vacation so I got told to call back the next day. Called back the next day and spoke with Afaf, the general manager. She said the room is booked but she will talk with the occupants to look for them. Again, 2 days later and still radio silence so I called again. I ended up sending her the same email I sent Joanne, but I took more screenshots of the exact location and added them. 2 days later still nothing so I called again and she abruptly told me that they will look when they have time. Waited 5 days after that and still nothing. Emailed her and she responded with a very rude response telling me IF they happen to show up she will let me know. I reached out to corporate but all they did was tell Afaf the whole situation again and no help beyond that. Here we are a month later and my AirPods are still showing the exact same spot as they were but nobody is helping. I'm all the way in Miami so I suppose the next time I come to Worcester, I will just have to go to the hotel and request to go to the room and get them myself. I certainly won't be staying at this hotel again after the terrible service I had, I suggest you stay away from them as well. read more

I checked in later in the night with my daughter who had just been dancing in a competition since the early morning. I originally had reserved 2 nights- Friday and Saturday but cancelled Friday night directly with the hotel Tuesday. When I got there Saturday night, the lady at the desk said there was not a room that I cancelled it. I pulled up my reservation on the app and then she quickly said it was for both nights and I said no I cancelled in the appropriate time. She then proceeded to tell me I was lucky because she had "one" room left. I told her our friends were on their way to check in as well and she proceeded to fully discuss their room with her name and everything to me. When we finally get into the room it smelled of urine and cigarettes( mind you it says it is a non smoking hotel). What an awful experience for literally a stay that was from 11pm to 6am the next day. Not worth the aggravation, the attitude from the front desk, or the money. read more

The best part about this hotel is the amount of space you get in the room. Our room had a small kitchen, living room, work space, a separate area with a bed and a decent size bathroom. It gave us the opportunity to all have our own space. The room was clean although the bed could certainly use a new mattress. The front desk staff was very friendly and super helpful in locating area restaurants. They have fire pits outside to sit and relax by the fire as the sun goes down. The continental breakfast was nothing special but satisfactory. We also saw a basketball court outside. The down side of our trip was the pool was closed. This Residence Inn is located right off the freeway, its easy to get to, they are pet friendly and get this... give you breakfast every morning. I mean a full breakfast buffet. Eggs, sausage, potatoes, breakfast sandwich, breads, fruit, yogurt and even hot oatmeal with the fixings. Juice, coffee.. etc. There is an indoor pool, an gym AND an outside sports court. The room was really comfortable, clean and had a full kitchen set up. This is a really nice set up for long term stay. In the evenings they have a cocktail hour and each night a dinner item, tonight it's hot dogs and hamburgers. The pet areas are kept green and clean, they have doggie bags available and a trash bin right there. Fergie loved her stay here. WIFI is freeeeeeeeeee, parking is freeeeeeeeeeee This place ended up being a real cost savings. Staff was super friendly and helpful. read more

I've stayed at this Worcester Residence Inn in the past and it was fine, but I didn't use the kitchen then. So here are some insights if you're planning to stay there after my stay with my husband and son last weekend. Overall the place was nice but there are things you should know and bring for yourself. The bedroom was very nice and the bed was comfortable. I would have liked a mirror in the bedroom so I could put on my makeup while my son and husband showered. We were using the pull out couch for my son but there were no sheets for it in the room and we had to go to the desk to get some at about 2 am when we got back from a friend's house. That was no big deal but it would have been nice if they were available. The bathroom was not well cleaned, hair on the floor by the tub, a tissue box on the top of the sink was empty and had been soaked on the bottom and dried that way. The staff does not service the room daily at a residence inn and there weren't enough towels for multiple days but we had brought some. There was no garbage can in the bathroom and no drinking cups. The coffee pot makes only 4 cups which is really two cups of coffee. They have coffee filter pods but be careful, for some reason the orange banded package is the decaf and the green one is regular. Odd. Bring your own creamer / milk / half and half. The only cookware in the kitchen was a big sauce pot. No skillet / frying pan. Fortunately I had brought one and a spatula because there wasn't one of them either. There were three drinking glasses and one was not well washed. There's a small microwave and a dishwasher but after I made breakfast and loaded it up, I got it started before we left for the day. When I got back, the dishwasher apparently had no water. Nothing was washed. There was no sponge nor dishwashing (manual) liquid in the room. I washed my dishes at home. There were only two coffee cups also. I was very unhappy with the kitchen. I specifically wanted a kitchen so we could relax and have breakfast in our room but that didn't work out too well. The rooms are very big, the bed is very comfortable and I'm hard to please that way. I'll think twice before staying here again though. If I was fully prepared it may have been better, but I think I'd rather stay at a regular hotel and eat breakfast out. read more

The reason that I gave this location 2 stars is because house keeping did not come every day to replace towels and NEVER replaced the shampoo, soap, lotion, or toilet paper. Surprisingly good. OK, it's Worcester, which is not exactly a garden spot in many respects. Although to be fair, I think the Residence Inn sits right on the border of Worcester and Shrewsbury and its definitely not anywhere near downtown Worcester. Recently renovated, I needed a place to stay for a week before I could close on my home. I found that the Worcester Residence Inn was much less expensive than the Westborough Residence Inn, which was close to $300 a night. I took a 1 bedroom unit, which had a very comfortable bedroom, full living room and kitchen. There were TVs in both rooms, so I could hang out on the LR couch or watch TV in bed. Which was good because I ended up being sick most of that week. The kitchen is well stocked enough to prepare simple meals, plenty of room the fridge. The room itself was very quiet. I was on the 3rd floor, right next to the laundry room. I did not hear any noise from the adjoining units, and only a little noise from the floor above. The heating/cooling system worked well and was quiet. All the appliances were relatively new. There is daily maid service, although they will only change the linens and towels every other day, unless you request otherwise. When I checked in, I told the front desk I wasn't feeling so well, and the clerk offered me a free drink and food from the store. The bellman took all my bags (a lot of stuff) right from my car to my room. The whole stay, I felt like service was a priority, the staff there worked hard to make sure my stay was a good one. I would not hesitate to stay here again, and recommend to anyone needing accommodations in Shrewsbury/Worcester. read more

I'm really surprised by the poor reviews here. Other than what one person said about parking being limited in the front of the building (though, I always got a spot), I can't think of anything major to complain about at this hotel. SIZE: The suits are huge. I got a one bedroom that was bigger than most of the apartments I've lived in. RATE: The price was incredible, especially if you're a state or federal employee. I got a government rate and only paid $93/night + taxes for what amounted to a huge one bedroom apartment. But I also saw good deals on budget travel websites that don't require any particular credentials. FOOD: Not only do you get a full breakfast (waffles, eggs, cereal, bagels, fruit, juice, etc), but dinner is also on the house twice a week. Additionally, there is coffee and tea available 24/7 if you don't want to bother making it in your own kitchen. FLEXIBILITY: I asked to check out a day early with little notice (which most hotels will make a huge stink about). The front desk staffer said that was no problem, and indeed I was not charged. They also let me do a late check-out with no extra charge. INTERNET: I'm still amazed how many hotels don't have wireless and make you hook up your computer to the wall. Wireless here was great, and fast enough to stream Netflix movies each night. STAFF: Did not encounter one unpleasant staffer over the week I was there. There were only two minor things I disliked. Firstly, the TVs in the living room and bedroom were aggravating. The buttons on the TVs and the remotes were not sensitive at all and you had to press down several times to get it to do anything (it wasn't the batteries). It's also satellite, so during a snow storm that week, most of the channels didn't work. The second thing is, I wish they had more dishes in each room. I prepared meals at least once a day at the hotel for myself and my family. I felt like I was constantly having to wash dishes because we didn't have a lot to spare. They need bigger bowls too. The three bowls provided were seriously baby-size. That being said -- I've stayed in tons of hotels over the years, both for work and vacation and I've never been happier before. read more

Worst hotel experience of my life!! I travel and book hotels for living through my company. So I check into Marriott hotels as Titanium Elite. As a Titanium one should expect certain levels of customer service but this was beyond horrible. My company accidentally booked me a day short, instead of leaving Thursday they booked me to leave Wednesday. Not aware of this I left for the day to work. Now, instead of calling me or waiting until I returned to the hotel the did the unthinkable... The Hotel staff packed all my clothes in a trash bag then proceeded to throw away my medications, my phone charger, receipts for reimbursements, bathroom items, grooming kit, food, drinks and notebook with years of ideas and notes. Then the front attitude is horrible, they truly did not give a F###. They treated me like it was my fault. This is not the way you treat loyal customers, hell this is not the way to treat a human being. I wish I could give negative stars! read more

Evidently the door lock battery had died. Absolutely no one was available to fix the issue. I was extremely lucky that the night staff was able to find a vacant room that I could use for the night. Had a great suite! (Spacious, clean, equipped with kitchenette, everything.) This would have been a four-star stay, but the morning that I was checking out (had to leave by 6am), I realized I'd forgotten a razor. I rang down to the front desk asking for one and was told I'd have to come down and get one since they were shortstaffed. Nice new fridge and microwave in the room. Internet is very fast. Breakfast was awesome: great selection of fruits and other 'healthy' foods like yogurt and high-fiber cereals. Hot items included oatmeal, waffles, eggs, potatoes, and sausage. Great selection of toppings for all hot items too! Minus one star because housekeeping came knocking at 10am and checkout is at noon. I understand that many hotels instruct housekeeping to check on guests before the checkout time, but in that case, shouldn't each room have a "Do Not Disturb" sign to put up? If there was one in our room, we couldn't find it. The hotel could save its housekeeping staff a lot of trouble by simply providing these little doorknob hangers. Oh, and I asked the housekeeping lady who knocked on our door what time checkout was, and she said, "I don't know". *sigh* Overall though, a really great stay. Nice place to stay!! We had a very nice and clean room with a kitchen, located on the 4th floor. We enjoyed the free breakfast and the scrambled eggs were very good!!! I have to admit, I was expecting them to taste bland and just be "eh", but they were good! Even my husband said they were good. The hotel's location is really nice, the grounds are very nice and the hotel itself was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The only one thing I didn't like, was our bed - even though it was a king, it was hard. Now, I can't fault them for that, because some may love a hard bed, me, no, I like my bed soft, but other than that, very impressed with this hotel and if we are ever in Worcetser again, I will most likely book here. OH, and we never got a chance to check out the bar area and play a game of pool!! Yes, they have a pool table!! Nice place to stay! Indoor pool, free WIFI, free parking, many different entrances so no matter where you park, one is close. As I write this, there is one small gripe about the place. There are no stairs from the lobby to the first floor. You must take the elevator up one floor or use the back or side entrance to get to the first floor. Not really a big deal but when the place is busy, you can wait a while for an elevator to take you one floor. Poor design by the architect, no fault of the staff. Rooms are very spacious and clean. While staying at different times I had both a studio and a one bedroom. Plush comfortable king size bed in both rooms with 4-5 pillows. Breakfast is included seven days a week. There is always cereal (four choices), juices, coffee, milk, waffles, bagels, toast, eggs, some kind of meat (ham, sausage) breakfast potatoes (hash browns, etc.), biscuits and gravy on Sundays, yogurt, and usually some type of fruit. Dinner is served Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Some type of mixed green salad, tacos, burgers and hotdogs. Not delicious but what can I say, it is included in the room rate. Fitness room had a bench that could be used for bench press and would incline to do sit-ups on. Two treadmills, one stationary bike, one elliptical, and free weights ranging from 5-45lbs. (A couple of sizes were missing) One Satellite TV in the workout room. Staff was very friendly to me. From the front desk employees to the maintenance men. My husband is an absolute "lodging snob". We visit Worcester every October and usually stay at the boutique hotel down the road. This year we opted to save a few hundred dollars and try the Residence Inn and I'm so glad we did. It had all of the style and atmosphere you'd expect to pay twice as much for. The rooms were incredibly clean with a full kitchen and free popcorn! The staff were lovely and went above and beyond to accommodate any request. And they offer free breakfast. Not the "continental" B.S. everyone else has. I mean eggs, waffles, sausage... real breakfast! We will definitely stay here from now on. read more
