A+ customer service. Went here to get a new battery in my watch and to my surprise there was no…read morecharge. Donations are welcome but not required. Also had my earrings cleaned too. Thank you Emilia for your great service. I will definitely be back.

Bailey's Fine Jewelry was very kind and accommodating with my initial return after my husband…read morepurchased gold and diamond earrings for Christmas. I decided that for the investment, I would prefer an updated wedding band instead and was looking at a two-tone style. The sales process started smoothly, and sizing seemed straightforward at first. However, the communication around ordering and sizing became confusing. I was initially told the ring would take 5-7 days to come in, then 12 weeks, then suddenly it arrived. When the ring came in, it was still too large. After returning to have it adjusted, I was told the wrong size had been ordered (a 5.5 instead of a 5), and that it would need to be reordered again -- potentially another 12 weeks -- with no clear confirmation whether it could even be sized properly once it arrived. Ultimately, I requested a refund, which I did receive, though there was some hesitation due to timing even though the delays were outside of my control. The staff was polite throughout, and I genuinely liked the ring, but the inconsistent communication and sizing issues made the experience more frustrating than it should have been for such an important purchase.

Would not recommend them with high carat gold. Wanted to turn my 24k gold into other jewelry and…read morethey did a scratch test to test the gold. They stated it was 22k. As a jeweler, they should know scratch tests are not meant for higher carat gold but a xrf or pmi gun. Took it to a pawn shop for testing and even the jewel recycle and they both confirmed it was 24k. Them being jewelers, they should know this and not try to scam customers. Their work is amazing from what I have seen but I can not trust them. Beware.

From the moment I met one of the owners, this gem of a store got my attention. Before setting foot into the shop, I was impressed by their proactive, organic social media campaigns. The visit to Jewel Smith of Durham blew our minds. The attention to in-store customer service was most refreshing and sadly unique. They know how to make the jewelry purchase experience fun and memorable. Each piece is created by talented architects with impressive tools and timeless machinery. There are exquisite pieces that are one of a kind with gems carefully purchased from every part of our planet. I realized after my first visit to the local mall here how I'd never again attempt a purchase at a chain jeweler. It's not too late for Christmas with their fully staffed extended Holiday hours and a dedicated parking lot. And then there's always Valentines Day.

5/5 - this woman-owned business is incredble! I came here to get an engagement ring. Painless,…read moreworry-free, everything you would want when you're buying something so special. Positives: * Jo Sparrow was professional and clearly knew her craft. She had an artist on-staff, Gretchen, to sketch out potential designs, and that definitely helped us envision the ring. * Knowledgeable about lab grown diamonds and natural diamonds * We wanted to design our own ring, and it came out stunning! * Jo chose 5 stones, with a great variety of sizes, colors, cuts, symmetries, etc. to accommodate our price point. It seems like she definitely has a lot of clout with the diamond suppliers, because we loved all the stones we saw! * Budget-concious and transparent - was very honest with what we would need in a stone, what imperfections are present in a stone (and whether we could tease those out under a microscope), and where we could cut back without too much loss to meet our budget * Gretchen has been great to interact with, even now that we're choosing our wedding bands

My wife brought several of my watches to Sparrowood over the years, for new bands or batteries…read more The service and price have always been acceptable and the quality (of replacement bands/bracelets) was usually (not always) OK. A couple of weeks ago, though, my wife brought in a beautiful Citizen dive watch of mine that needed a battery. Someone came out from the back room to tell my wife my watch was broken, it didn't need a battery. Lucky for me, wife didn't discard the watch on the way home. I put a battery in it myself and it works fine now. BUT THE PERSON AT SPARROWOOD apparently did not know HOW A WATCH WORKS. Dive watches have screw down stems, and maybe this woman didn't know how to use a dive watch's stem/crown. BUT WHAT SORT OF JEWELER doesn't know how a watch stem works? Never again will I go to this shop. Non-competent, or just lying rather than doing a little battery job? Doesn't matter. Find a jeweler who knows what she is doing.
