We found this place by happenstance after our kayaking trip went awry earlier that day. The location is beautiful especially if you choose outdoor seating. The wait staff seem to know to keep the tables decently far apart because of Covid, and I highly recommend that you go around sunset as the view outside is gorgeous. Our waiter, named Ben, was brand new to the team. Turns out it was his second day on the job and he nailed it. He came over quickly to take our order, even when we had issues with our drinks he took them off the bill and brought us new drinks that we ordered, and was checking to see if everything was OK. The food was good, I didn't see anything that had me excited or impressed, but definitely tasty and all-around feeds different people with different tastes. I highly recommend the coconut chicken tenders, I would even say get them as a meal with a side of french fries. The order is pretty large and the sauces were very tasty. Overall a good choice for my birthday dinner, I certainly would've tried a dessert but we had to get home to cut cake. I recommend giving this a try! read more

A hidden gem of a restaurant among a whole bunch of pubs. Location rightat the province lake golf club just off 153 just over the maine/nh line. Parking beside and behind the building. We usually get reservations just to make sure seating is available. Staff seats you quickly. Menus, specials and drink offers given. Nice drink menu with plenty of options. Tequila pineapple drink off the charts. Food -salads good size, the apps, mussels or dumplings tasty. Dinner choices range from burgers,wraps to scallops, fish and chips to shepherds pie. Personally I start with mussels, house salad and move on to the spicy fried chicken sandwich. Wife gets the scallops or fish and chips. Never disappointed. The meatloaf wrapped in bacon is incredibly good! The salmon and the scallops are basic but nicely done. Have anything with the garlic mashed potatoes. I wish they weren't out of the chicken pot pie that night - that sounds wonderful, with a puff pastry crust. read more

First of all you'll never drive by this place, because it's nestled in a beautiful place - way off the beaten track. Worth the drive for us. Never had a bad meal. Public NOT Welcomed here! Very Disappointed! Attempted to take my parents for their Anniversary. Drove over fourty minutes. No hostess or bartender as you enter to welcome you. Waitress walking by us obviously overwhelmed and stressed. Avoided eye contact as we waited to be noticed. Finally, got her attention and she told us to seat ourselves. We asked about oustide dining. Irritated, waitress told us will be few minutes before she would be able to clean a table. We waited. Male waiter avoided us at all costs. We waited. Female waitress gave us annoyng looks as she cashed out other diners while we waited for a table on the outside porch to be cleaned. It was a beautiful, Saturday afternoon. We waited and waited and waited. No apologies from staff, no smiles, no effort at all! We left. Emailed the restaurant manager about our experience. No response. Will never go back. I had dinner here in late September 2018 with my husband and two friends. The restaurant was recently reopened in a charming old carriage house after a fire in its old location. We came for drinks, and then came back for dinner, and loved it in every way. The menu had so many great choices all four of us had a hard time deciding on what to order. Everyone loved their meals, and portions were huge. My lobster mac and cheese was incredible, and the leftovers were great the next day. I went here last night with a few friends for dinner and drinks for the first time and it was great! I was skeptical that it was going to be lame because it's at a golf course but it wasn't at all. The place was very busy but they seated the 5 of us right away. The service was very quick, our waiter was great, the food tasted amazing and the drinks were just right. I went with my aunt grandmother and 5 year old son on a Sunday. It wasn't busy by any means when we got there. One table of guests outside and one other inside besides us. First... regarding Covid the menues were paper (not laminated) and dirty with clear signs of being used multiple times. We started with the spinach artichoke dip which was delicious. Then some subpar French onion soup. Then we waited for our meals. And waited....and waited....and waited..... another couple came in shortly after us and were served and done before we got our meals. I ordered salmon mashed potatoes green beans and the others got the same but the baked haddock. My salmon was supposed to have a "lime butter sauce". There was NO taste of lime whatsoever and the outside was so dry. The beans might as well have been raw served with a vegetable dip. Then.... the potatoes had a gravy on it that tasted like the McCormick stuff you add water and boil. It ruined the mashed potatoes. I also got a side of citrus slaw that tasted like it was on the verge of going bad. Finally...my son got grilled cheese and fries and his came out last on a piping hot plate!?!? For the prices they charge they're quality and service needs to step up. read more

Attended a wedding reception recently, while the views, and atmosphere were great. (it was after all a celebration) the food was terrible. The oven roasted potatoes, green beans and carrots were so under cooked they should of been served as a veggie platter, the chicken while cooked was slimmy, and if chicken with bone and skin are to be served wouldn't it be convenient to have a steak knife so it can be cut into bite size pieces, Plus it would of been handy to cut the veggies and potato..... The cocktail hour and after dinner dancing were held out on a deck under a tent. Well unfortunatly we did get a couple downpours and the tent was leaky. If u were lucky enough to actually get a small table and a chair to sit in, you got soaked and had to stand anyway. A couple fans blowing the hot humid air around would of been great, yes out side in NH can be unpredictable, but these situations should be thought out by the function coordinator. The one positive is the waitstaff and bartenders were all very pleasant and served with smiles.... read more

I have been in the area since 1985 and love the atmosphere of the golf club. To sit outside in the summer and have dinner and look out to Province Lake is amazing. Many staff and chefs have come and gone but the staff that is now working there are amazing. My husband and I went to the Wine Tasting a few months ago and had such a wonderful time. The appetizers that were paired with each wine was fabulous to say the least. read more

Four of us went for dinner last night. There was no host at the host station. A second group of four came in after us. One of the women pushed past us to the dining room door and the hostess seated them without even looking at us. Then she finally noticed us and we asked to be seated on the porch. This was about 7 pm. We found out later there were two waitresses and their manager to handle the porch, the bar room and the dining room. Our waitress was obviously overwhelmed. She finally took our drink order and we ordered our food at the same time, around 7:15. One of our party just wanted water which she brought about 30 minutes after we got our drinks. We did not get our food until 8:30 PM. People on the porch who were seated after us and had the other waitress got their food very quickly. When our food finally came the burger (which was ordered well done) was medium and was sent back. The Turkey chipotle wrap which had bacon in it..the bacon was practically raw. So our friend was totally grossed out and couldn't eat the wrap.The garden ravioli was good. I ordered the sea scallops. When they came out they were bay scallops with about 1/4 cup of rice pilaf and broccoli even though the veg of the night was described as summer squash, zucchini and green beans with a herb butter sauce. Thank goodness the scallops were hot. We never got the bruschetta appetizer we ordered. The waitress said she would take the burger off the bill but didn't so we had to send the bill back. All in all a total dining disaster...what a pity because it is a beautiful spot with gorgeous summer landscaping and beautiful buildings... Stop offering what you can't provide...just have a bar menu if you can't pull your act together for dinner. We will not be back..... read more
