Atmosphere for this place was great had an anniversary dinner outside and the group of 10 of us were seated out side for the evening the service e was superb waiter was excellent knew everything by memory remembered orders by memory gave recommendations for food items in reference to people's likes and got it spot on he was great. The cocktails were also fantastic all of them were tried by the party members and we tried it was great. I had the pecan crusted grouper it was fantastic! Wife had the chicken that was succulent! The bread and olive oil with cracked pepper was also fantastic. The cheesecake for desert was fresh and creamy. Truly, this is the gem of the southern half of 30A. The first sign we were going to have an amazing experience, when we dined there last night, was the empty restaurant. That might sound like an odd signal that it was going to be a great dining experience, but the manager stopped by our table to check on us, and explained that they are restricting the number of diners they take in because they don't have enough support staff to provide a 5-star experience to a full restaurant. Seriously, what restaurant turns down $$$ over principles? Well, apparently Restaurant Paradis. Words cannot explain how fantastic the evening was. For starters, Chris W., our server, was excellent in all regards. He stopped by our table repeatedly to check in on us. And, he's such a personable guy, the frequent stop-ins never felt like an intrusion. In addition, standing in the wings (literally) was a team of 3 others that swooped in, almost unnoticed, to ensure every glass stayed full, plates were cleared, and there was always fresh bread and olive oil. For our starter, we ordered the flash-fried blue softshell crab. It was small, but DELICIOUS. For dinner, my wife ordered the grouper and I ordered the filet. The filet was excellent, cooked to perfection, and legitimately one of the best steaks I've have in the US (my G.O.A.T. steak is at my favorite restaurant in Buenos Aires). My wife's grouper was beyond word. If I've had a better fish dish in my life, I don't remember it. It was amazing!!! All in all, we loved Paradis so much, we ordered extra drinks and hung out a bit after we finished our meal (something we never do). They have a good wine selection and great bar. We had a crab appetizer of fried soft shell crab and crab meat - it was just outstanding. Party of four - three of us ordered the filet steak cooked in cast iron - this has to be one of the best filets I have had at any restaurant. The fourth person ordered a NY strip special that was excellent. We had drinks and a bottle of wine. I was not impressed at all. I came here with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. The food was good, but not great. I tried the beef & blue cheese tortellini and they were good, not mind blowing, and definitely not worth $12 in my opinion (especially for 4 little tortellini). Then for the entre I tried Shiso ahi tuna. The tuna was delicious, as for the rest of the meal could have done without it. The fried bok choy was ok and the fried rice was nothing to write home about, I have made better fried rice. Again, not worth the price for the meal ($36). We went to restaurant Paradis last night and it exceeded our expectations. We already really liked it as we had a great meal several months ago, but this time it was even better. The last time we had a wonderful scallop as well as a tuna tartare appetizer. They both needed salt, but once added, they both popped and were delicious. I was craving both of them (they both were still on the menu) this time, but couldn't pass up the carrot ginger soup special. OMG!!!!! This was no ordinary mundane soup. It was amazeballs!!!! Very ginger forward. It was so good that I got another one to go. My husband started with the crab cakes as they were out of scallops. I only had a bite, so I probably can't give the best assessment, but I found it kind of paté like instead of having nice chunks of crab meat. The taste was nice though. For our mains we had the Grouper and a Mahi Mahi special which came on a bed of pumpkin and goat cheese risotto, dried cherries and pecans with a sprinkling of haricots verts. They were both delicious. The Mahi was perfectly cooked being tender and juicy with just the right account of flake. This seems to be a rare occurrence to get a perfectly cooked piece of fish at most restaurants. The focaccia bread that they bring to the table is completely addictive. I found it hard to control myself as it was the perfect combination of chew and pillowy softness with just the right amount of salt. On top of having excellent food and plating aesthetics, the service was impeccable from hostess, wait staff and phone inquiries. The experience was only heightened by cool Halloween decorations for this Halloween lover. I highly recommend trying it for yourself. It was so good that we decided to return 2 days later. Update: we returned tonight for another spectacular meal. This time we ordered the tuna tartare with the yuzu infused sushi rice and avocado and the scallops with wild mushroom and sweet pea risotto. This time they both were seasoned perfectly from the get go. The scallops were beautiful, tender, sweet and had a wonderful glistening seared crust on the outside. The risotto was sublime. The tartare had just the right amount of acid from the yuzu. You could taste it's floral citrusy goodness without it overpowering the beautiful fish. I truly could have just ordered several of either appetizer and called it a day. For our mains, my husband ordered the snapper and I got the Mahi special which this time came with cilantro rice and a tikki masala veg./sauce. The snapper was a huge portion that was perfectly cooked. It was thick, juicy, flavourful and had a crispy skin. I think that it was even better than the mahi I ordered a couple of nights ago and that was spot on. My Mahi tonight was somewhat overcooked and dry, but the tikki masala was the bomb. It was complex in flavor and had just an essence of heat. If that piece of fish was cooked like either the snapper or my Mahi from the other night, it would have definitely been a 10 out of 10. I was there on August 19th and the food and service were great. We started at the bar with a cocktail and then moved to our table. We had the soft shell crab appetizer. It was good, but I'm not a fan of soft shell crab nut it was still good. Me and one friend had the surf and turf and it was delicious. My steak had a nice char on the outside and melted in my mouth. The service is outstanding, the food is delicious, and the drinks are refreshing and strong. There is a really great wine and bourbon selection. During our past 2 visits (I'm a little late with this review) we had divers scallops, tuna tartare, crab cakes and foist gras as appetizers. Out entrees included the lobster encrusted grouper, gulf coast snapper, a seasonal special of New York strip with a beet purée, and the filet. For dessert definitely get the orange creme brûlée. My first impression was it being a very high end restaurant but not snooty. The drinks were incredible! I got the Agave Maria which is essentially a very crafty watermelon margarita with freshly squeezed watermelon featured in the drink.
