I can't speak highly enough of Jim Thurber (project manager) and his entire team of subcontractors at helping my wife and I turn a very frustrating situation (pipe leak/water damage in kitchen) to something really awesome, a fully remodeled kitchen. Jim is a very friendly guy who is great to talk to and gets the job done. Firstly, I had a bad experience with a previous plumbing contractor, and Jim and his team have restored my faith in finding quality and honest contractors to work with. I will definitely be keeping his contact information for any future projects that my wife and I want to have done. I was referred to Restoration Solutions through my homeowner's insurance (AAA) when I started my water damage claim. Jim came out and performed his estimate and was very upfront and honest with me about everything. We were initially just going to repaint and replace the damaged cabinets and have them all painted. After a lot of thought and consideration, my wife and I wanted to seize the moment and just remodel the entire kitchen, especially since the remaining, undamaged cabinets would still be 30 years old on the inside and not match the rest of the new cabinets. It obviously cost more to remodel the whole kitchen, but this was just one of those situations where it was completely worth the extra money. Able and his team (demo, paint, and drywall) did an awesome job. Alex and his team (cabinets and trim) did an awesome job. Jaime and DJ (countertops) did an awesome job. They answered very promptly, and were able to get a tech out to inspect the same day (mold issue). Tech was very knowledgeable and upfront about what he saw, what he expected, worst case scenarios, and costs. He forwarded us to an asbestos testing company to make sure the area was safe to work, gave us questions to ask them and a good idea of what to expect from them as well. (The testing company was impressed by the questions, said we got a "superstar" tech!) I had a serious leak in my house and worked with Ely Rubin of Restoration Solutions to repair my kitchen and dining room. It was a surprisingly great experience! Ely is a great General Contractor and just knows what he is doing. We were relieved when he noticed an unrelated issue in another part of our kitchen where the cabinet was about to collapse. We would have never noticed this until it fell down destroying our granite. Ely is well-liked by both his clients and sub-contractors. All the workers he sent to our house were professional, fast, and on-time. First was the dry-wall person. He is definitely the best dry-wall person in California. So very fast and polite. The painters and cabinet repairmen were also very good and reliable. A special mention is Ivan Rada, the cabinet contractor. He worked tirelessly to repair a complicating 20+ year old kitchen cabinet. When he was done, our kitchen looked much better than it did before the water damage! He also went through our kitchen (at no cost) and tightened the hinges on the remaining kitchen cabinets giving our kitchen a much-needed facelift. Restoration projects are stressful; so, it is nice to have someone controlling the entire project who sincerely has your best interest in mind. I had a main line back up on 2/27. Sewage water poured out of my master bathroom toilet. The sewage got on my walls, baseboards and bedroom carpet. The plumber I hired recommended and called a mitigation company (I would rather not mention their name). After a couple days and further research I decided to stop with that company and found Restoration Solutions on Yelp. I looked thru all the reviews and knew that this was the company I wanted. I called and spoke to Jack whom said I would need to get a sign document of release of previous company. Jack explained the whole process and gave me an estimate of about 3 weeks. Jack immediately sent his mitigation team to take over the rest of the drying and demo. My insurance company (liberty Mutual) was not really easy to work with. My insurance adjuster was not readily available and would take days and or calling the main office just to speak with someone. Added that my Adjuster went on vacation a few days after we talked. Jack was still able to contact someone at my insurance company and was able to get a final estimate from them. I was able to change the look of my shower within budget. It was re-tiled, new shower hardware sink and vanity. All the walls was restored and even looks much better than it did before. Jack was able to do the job within budget and even saved us some money. It took a few more days (4/3) only because of the whole "Covid 19 stay at home" order. So we were all in an unfamiliar situation. Jack and his team was very professional and on time. The mitigation team, plumbers and restoration crew all were very friendly. They cleaned up after themselves and corrected anything I found that I thought was an issue. We recently needed to fix our cracked ceiling due to a leaking AC unit in the attic. We got estimates from Restoration Solutions and another company. The other company quoted a crazy high amount with seemingly unnecessary items in the estimate. WARNING, DO NOT HIRE. I never do reviews but I want this to be a clear warning to people. I just got off the phone with these people. They are the most rude and unprofessional people. I wanted to call to have them inspect a condo to see if it has mold just like they did for me just a few weeks ago at my own house. I was explaining that I want to check if there's mold and the guy on the phone was saying they don't to that and an industrial hygienist does that but I was explaining how can that be if they checked my house for mold just a few weeks ago. This company was even the company who did my mold remediation for me which included spraying the mold to kill it and removing the area around the mold. So are they trying to tell that they didn't even do what I paid them for and it's all a lie? I even received attitude when I said so I paid you $1000 for what and the guy has the audacity to say it was $600 and I was like ok rounded up and he was like $400 is a big difference. Like I don't need your attitude when I'm the customer who even hired you to do my mold remediation if they even did that in the first place. I was so sick with the conversation that I ended that call and never want to deal with them again. Do not hire them unless you want to experience unprofessionalism and a huge attitude problem. After being gone for 6 weeks for medical treatment, we ended our four day drive home by walking in on a nightmare: a sprung leak in our attic (seriously, people, stay away from PEX piping!) turned our hallway into a soggy moldy mess. These guys came in to do the dry out quickly right before the storm. the pm kevin lacks interpersonal communication skills. They didnt test for asbestos and my house is from the 50's, they didn't seal off the rest of the house so the dry out took 5 days instead of 2. they left the machines through the weekend while not working and charged me for it after confirming that they would not charge me for it. then they charged me for it anyway. my dry out what have been complete by the next day but it was their weekend. I asked them to update the bill and they told me they were too busy dealing with the new jobs from the flood to get back to me. fast forward 4 weeks they send an invoice and follow up a few days later and threaten to send me to collections. in reality they knew that my insurance is suppose to pay them anyway so threatening to send me collections was complete unnecessary and uncalled for. I was being ignored for a few weeks but when they want an answer it's top priority. btw i did not hire them for the build back because they NEVER got back to me and basically left my house torn up to work on other jobs. the floor's been left torn up for weeks and i even had another restoration company come by to tell me that my subfloor might have asbestos so i had to manage the testing myself to ensure the next company was not exposed to asbestos. read more

We chose Restoration Solutions (RS) after considering several other water damage mitigation specialists. We recently discovered a 20-yr continuous leak caused by a construction worker who drove a nail through one of our drain pipes which was never repaired at the time of the incident. RS's estimate was not the least expensive, nor was it the costliest; however, we felt RS would be the "best" company to help us get our kitchen back into working order. We were happy with most of the sub-contractors who came to do their portion of the overall job project. Rafael did a great job at scheduling the different work stages all the way through our job completion. If there were any issues with our kitchen remodel/restoration, Rafael took care of them and which made us feel comfortable that we chose RS for our major kitchen restoration. Whenever major costly home repairs are needed, it's almost always a very stressful time for any homeowner. RS was able to take away a lot of worry and anxiety from us since we felt assured the job would be done, and done right. In the end, we were very happy with the job that was done, as we were able to have full use of our kitchen prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. We had a very bad experience working with restoration solutions. The remediation piece of our job went very smooth however after that we had nothing but problems. Our project manager was fired in the middle of our project. The craftsmanship for the repairs we needed done (drywall repair, molding repair, cabinet replacement) was very poor - we had to have them come back after the initial round of work to redo several things because they were not done well the first time. We had to have a custom cabinet replaced, we were told they had a team who could rebuild custom cabinets - the cabinet that they build for us was horribly made, uneven, and made out of completely different materials then the rest of our kitchen. We had them remove and have to work with another vendor to complete it. Lastly, the billing process was ridiculous. They incorrectly billed our insurance and our final bill had work noted on it that was never completed. Would never use them again and would not recommend them. read more
