My girlfriend bought me a 45-minute massage from ReviTouch. There was some miscommunication, though, as I'd expected a Swedish massage and wound up with extreme deep tissue. Instead of 45-minutes of relaxing vacation massage, I got 45 minutes of white knuckle pain. To mark the level of pain--the masseuse noted during the massage that she was impressed/surprised by my very high pain tolerance. To be able to note that, she'd have to be doing very painful things. I did cry uncle and ask her to calm it down some here and there, but we weren't really connecting up on the relaxation idea. Afterwards, she warned that I would feel significantly sore for a day. That made date night that night and pretty much every moment of the rest of the vacation difficult to enjoy. I was recovering with some pretty noticeable pain. It's Thursday now--4 days later--and I still have sore spots on my shoulder and glute that are really achy. Vacation's over and I'm back home. I'm still sore and kind of bummed to have had the trip marred. I will say that I don't think it was intentional. Just a miscommunication on what we were trying to accomplish. She was really working on my trouble areas with deep tissue, and I just wanted those areas relaxed a bit so I could enjoy my vacation more not less. UPDATE: As it's been a week since the massage and my shoulder still has a sore spot, I thought I'd put in a quick update. If going to Revi, make sure to communicate thoroughly as I'm still recovering and experiencing acute pain in my left shoulder from the massage more than a week later. read more

I was a little apprehensive as this was my first time receiving a professional. I was fortunate enough to get my massage from Revi herself. It was deep tissue, and she promised torture and delivered. Revi is hands down the best masseuse I've ever been to. Let me explain why you should believe me: My mother is Korean and her good friend owned a high-end wellness salon on the UES for most of my younger life. That friend hired arguably the best masseuses one can find in the city since her clientele demanded such, so I have received many excellent massages throughout my life. When that friend retired and chose to close her business, I was left without a comparable experience. I tried all sorts of salons and businesses and spas around the city, expensive and inexpensive, and though I found some excellent therapists and spots, nothing matched the quality and relief I was used to. Then I went to Revi. After my first experience, I felt blood flowing through parts of my body that I didn't know had been cut off. I felt relaxed and HEALTHY in a way I hadn't realized I could feel in years. In subsequent visits, she has alleviated pain and tension in whatever problem area I have, and - most importantly - that relief LASTS. She is not just a masseuse who makes you feel good during the massage alone - her methods and technique actually alleviate issues in an enduring way. You don't walk away feeling like, "Ok, that was great. I could go for another massage tomorrow!" Well, ok, you do because the massage was wonderful haha! But you don't feel like you NEED another massage tomorrow in order to continue feeling good. Which is to me the sign of a truly skilled masseuse. Revi is also one of the kindest and sincerest people, let alone massage therapist, I've ever met. She can sense when maybe you're feeling like talking during the session just as well as when you're feeling strung out and in need of some quiet, internal time without talk. You can tell that she puts part of herself into each massage. She has such a positive energy about her that it feels like she is recharging your soul as well as your body. I'm so grateful to have found Revi! I've gone to her while holding an office job and dealing with the tensions of office life, as well as for the true physical pains of my current work (a dog trainer/walker/sitter). I know that in her hands I will always feel better after just one session, and that I can also go to her when I just want a little pick-me-up for self-care's sake too. So this was only my second massage (not counting PT massage) in my life so not a big N to compare to but this was so so so much better than the first and even better than PT though that is mostly about the exercise. Revi listened to the fact that I'd had knee replacement and 4 months later continuing hamstring pain (less knee to be honest). She totally focused on my high need area (the first massage I went to despite the same explanation barely touched my hamstrings and did a generic massage -- wont mention the FIDI folks # 1). My left hamstring is neither sore nor painful. Yes right hamstring still sore but so much better. And she gave good recommendations on follow up. Totally recommend them. read more

The ReviTouch does work. I threw my back out and it needed some attention. I had a huge knot in my lower back and was having trouble walking without a lean. The office was conveniently located across from my office and setting up an appointment was easy. The Yelp reviews were a big help in deciding who to trust.
