I want to like Revolutions, I really do...location, location, location! But sadly, that's pretty much all they've got going for them. it's a decent set up, tho a total cave...and in a city like Seattle, and in an area like Greenlake, who wants to subject themselves to that for mediocre coffee?!- I'm being nice, the 4 times I've had it both my partner and I have noticed the absolute lack of skill on the part of the barista...she foamed the crap out of our milk and it still managed to be lukewarm, bitter most likely due to the machine not being cleaned, and bland tasting at the same time. The crowd felt and looked a little too suburban for my tastes as well, and there's a serious funk about the place- it smells like a locker room-kinda moist and moldy. Not to mention that the last (and final) time we went, the girl steamed our lattes to lukewarm, and then when I very nicely pointed it out, she OFFERED TO RESTEAM IT. Um, hello, health department? Hello, barista police? I was not expecting Vivace (or even Voxx, Cugini, Vita, etc) by any means...but we're talkin about the skill level of an espresso cart at a hospital here. No bueno. read more

This place still feels clean while maintaining a non- commercial vibe. I enjoy their coffee AND their pastries. It remains a little sterile however, and somehow I feel hasn't come into it's own entirely. Because not too many people go here the wireless is really fast. read more

Great coffee, better staff, amazing location-grab a cup to go and walk the path around the Lake for a perfect weekend morning. My boyfriend and I were in Seattle for a week staying nearby, and we only meant to try It one but ended up coming back every single day because of how welcoming Phil was and how community the atmosphere felt. He gave us great recommendations for things to do in the neighborhood and city, and remembered us each day! Genuinely cares about his customers. Also, my boyfriend was able to work remotely at the shop bc they have nice large flat tables in addition to smaller round tops if you need to spread out. Will go back next time we are in the city! read more

When I lay awake at night crying myself to sleep, I pray to a god whom no longer exists that in the morning this coffee shop will serve me as they have the day before. In my crippling depression after realizing that many of the coffee shops suck in Seattle to a greater degree in most cases than grandma Bean's drive threw eXpresso in bfe n.Dakota I found myself deep in the thralls of a Prozac induced drug haze searching late into the whore filled Roosevelt nights hungry for a fix. It wasn't until an angel smiled upon for a brief moment one fateful day that I found the haven that inspired me to give up my habits of stalking fit cougars running around the lake of emerald moss and riding duck tours around the city hoping to find the mythical cli... espresso bean of joy. I was following a runner around the lake and thought I would see if I could stand in line next to her when she went to get her daily frappuccino, but she ran passed the s.buck and ducked into the running store. Not wanting to be noticed I found a door nearby as some dirty hipsters were walking out with personalized coffee mugs and crossed the street to jobs where I can only assume that their only joy is found by the demoralization of inquisitive ignorant yuppies that come into their bike shop to look at hybrid bicycles. I took refuge, and upon entering I felt a wave of calmness wash over me. I no longer wanted follow women in short shorts home and hide in their bushes. I no longer needed to go back to the pipe and my failed attempts at freebasing anti-depressants mixed with speed. For a moment I felt as if Jesus was touching me in a very special way. It tickled, but I liked it. That was the first time that Phil lent me his nuts for the bathroom. I've been back every day since, even after having been asked to leave repeatedly by staff and customers alike. I really like it a lot here. Thank you for your delicious beverages. You made me the super hero I am today. read more

Great coffee, good wifi (you get your own WEP key from a small tin at the counter), good service, and usually pretty good music.

My favorite coffee place in Seattle. To clarify it is close to my house on my way to work, but every time I go there I leave in a better mood. Even when I'm happy I leave happier. Some of it due to the caffeine and some due to Phil and his staff. Excellent food and a really cool place to chill out for a minute. Every time I have someone from out of town come in, its a place that is always visited. With that being said I do believe that it does rate 5stars, but nothing is perfect and to not mention something that could make it better would be unfair. The only thing that could make it better would be the bathroom location. Its down a long hallway and its one of those bathrooms that is shared with multiple businesses. read more

Great little coffee shop with a few select baked goods available (muffins and I think there are breakfast sandwiches until 10am ). I had a muffin to eat with a coffee/espresso drink. Both were tasty. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced. read more

great pastries, good baristas, and a laid back place to study/work/meet friends. this is how coffee shops should be, and i only wish we had more of this type of cafe in seattle. like anywhere that's not a chain where corporate perkiness is required, the service varies on who is behind the counter (i've seen people walk out the door because the barista disappears to who knows where, but i've never encountered *bad* service). read more

Best cinnamon rolls in town (or any town) and the friendliest staff ever. They pull awesome shots so the lattes, Americanos, and espressos are all excellent. Go for the coffee, but definitely stay for the house baked pastries. Particularly the weekend cinnamon rolls. read more

Revolutions has been my go-to cafe for years. Their baked goods are made in house every morning and the coffee is strong and delicious. Plus the staff is super friendly and inviting and they have treats for my pup, which she always appreciates. Nice and spacious, not over crowded and warm atmosphere. SO, I have come to terms with the fact that I am a stroller mom. you know, the one that hauls her huge a** stroller into the coffee shops, grabs a coffee to place in her coffee holder..and then walks the lake? Before I had kids, I frequently was annoyed by the brigades of mommys blocking my way as I tried to run the lake. But, now, I get it. You need to get out of the house to spare your sanity, and going for a coffee feels like a little piece of your old self, right? well, I cant tell you how many times I have struggled with my stroller in the Greenlake Starbucks..bumping into everyone else and their big strollers...and I dont even like Starbucks coffee. Now, after I have discovered this place, I will never go to Starbucks again. Revolutions has GOOD coffee, good baked goods, a huge space, great stroller access and the reason for my writing this review, one of the best baristas ever. This guy is so so sweet and genuine. I wanted to tell him how much I appreciate his good natured self today when I was in there, but I thought I might embarass myself and flubber the words. It is so refreshing to come across people like him, especially in the coffee culture that is Seattle.
