My first visit to this restaurant occurred on December 2, 2025. There is plenty of parking available. There's good signage. The restaurant is tucked away a bit from the road so it may be a little hard to see on your first visit. My dining companion and I arrived at 11:30 so we were a little ahead of the noon time rush. Friendly staff greeted us and seated us. Very interesting decor. If you lean toward the artistic side, you will see touches that will remind you of the infamous meow wolf. It's a focused menu. I went for the classic burger. They call their fries Spudnik and they have a very interesting cut. The potato shape is like a broad, curling wedge, but these are not curly fries. I asked for the smashed burger and it came out with a nice crispy touch. I enjoyed the blue cheese dressing. The brioche bun is very tasty. I would rate this Burger as tops. read more

The Kosmos is a cool spot, with a casual and chill vibe. I think we went on an off night, because they let us know the kitchen was backed up, so it took almost 30 mins to be seated when there were plenty of open tables. We started with the combo basket, which was a solid portion for the 4 of us. The pickles are super breaded, so we couldn't taste the pickles at all. The burgers aren't bad, but they don't come with fries, so the price doesn't feel worth it. Not a terrible experience, but not the best to draw us back either. read more

Really unique vibe, obviously the name Kosmos there's a lot of planetary decor, stars, and lights. Very cozy venue. Pretty decent happy hour on Friday-Saturday if you sit at the bar. All the beer is locally brewed and great options. The food was awesome we tried the Klassic kosmic burger and it did not miss. It was juicy and well seasoned; would recommend the kosmic sauce. We came here for the reviews, and will come back because the rating is spot on! All of us enjoyed our food--jammin Brie burger, Cajun prawns, and fish and chips. Also enjoyed our elote rib appetizer and cocktails. I had the burger and would get it again next time--combo of the Brie with the spicy jam was awesome! Couldn't decide between the cocktails which was better. They infused the liquors in house! Yum! Pricey cocktails, but worth it. Servers friendly. Atmosphere eclectic. Fun and unique spot, it is a very artsy place with a fun vibe, this restaurant is off of 5th street where the building used to be an industrial complex so the brick and mortar give it a great old fashioned vibe mixed with its modern style inside. The burger and fries were incredible, I'd say it's more of a gourmet style burger than your typical restaurant. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu as we were first timers. I was driving by with a friend when I noticed all the cars in the lot, from the road I wasn't sure and the sign on the building was super small. But I was curious so I drove around the block to access it again since it's on a one way street. I walked in expecting a very different vibe. Tables were full of patrons which was a good sign. I'm a person who likes to sit at the bar but it was messy and cluttered with half drank glassware and other items so I had to ask if it was available for sitting. The other thing was the table closest to it was super close which seemed odd and too close to the folks at the table. When we sat down, the nice guy behind the bar cleared some of the mess from the bar and handed me a paper brunch menu. I had to get the drink menu. I said we were just there for a drink and that didn't disappoint but I thought it was kinda expensive but then everything is these days. The beermosa was actually really good (beer, orange juice, champagne) great idea. They used a kolsch beer. The decor while kinda kosmic seemed cool in variation, it seemed unfinished and as if numerous people had different ideas and put it together. read more

The wait time at the door for a half empty restaurant was a drag. We were acknowledged when we walked in but waited 7 or 8 minutes to be seated (actually, to be told we could now sit wherever). The folks behind us easily waited 15. The ambiance is fun, but I kept getting one of the laser lights right in the eye and had to scoot over. It was very cold so I didn't take my coat off. It's clearly a "regulars" place, with some tables getting long convos with staff. I asked what was different about the fries that made them "Kosmos fries", but the waitress said she didn't know. So I didn't get them. They were also out of the first two dishes we ordered (at 6:30pm) The wait for the food was 40 minutes. We had barbacoa tacos, Afgani rice, and a salad with steak. We go here often and I realized it was time to update my review and praise The Kosmos again! We went to Kosmos after a day on the golf course! They had a special BBQ Bacon smash burger, which happens to be my favorite, so I of course had to get it! We also go fried pickles - so freaking good and I got a Kosmos cocktail. My gummy had his usual fish and chips, which we love. Then we got the special chocolate blackberry mousse! Amazing! I always love this place for its interesting and super tasty food, kind waitstaff and fun atmosphere! The patio is finished and hopefully they will have seating out there this year! The Enchanted Loungers visited this place last night after trying the Town and Ranch Lounge. There were 9 of us. Really enjoyed the place. First, I have gone to this place off and on for several years. I find it a nice change of pace from the rest of the world. Second, it is a little funky, even for Albuquerque. The owners seem to want to be "Austin like." In a funny sort of way, I think it gets there. It reminds me of the All-Good Cafe in Dallas. Maybe if there was some live music ala All Good, it would seal the deal. Food was good. It was served hot. Everyone got their orders around the same time. Two in the group are vegetarians. The menu had options for them to choose from. I had the Klasic Kosmic Burger with cheese and bacon and a side salad. The salad was big enough to share or have as an entrée. The burger was a little overcooked but good. Lots of bacon!! Next time I will split the order with my wife. My wife had the fish and chips. She could not eat the whole meal and brought some home. The spudnik fries were terrific - hot with a crunchy outside. Two in the group had the afghan rice. They thought the dish was good. Beer and wine is served. Parking is easy and plentiful. In Albuquerque on the way up to Sante Fe and needed to grab lunch. We had looked up good lunch spots and Kosmos turned up on several sites. Off we went to try the Kosmos dining experience. Kosmos appears to have been only recently opened in a strip mall under heavy construction. There are not many other businesses in the area. The inside shell looks like a very young project slapped together and called a restaurant. I asked the waiter, how long have you been open here and he replied five years. My jaw almost hit the floor. It has a catchy feel in design but needs to finish up the construction, please. We decided to stay and noted that they filled up quickly for the lunch crowd, encouraging. It appeared that many of the patrons were locals and frequent Kosmos routinely. Again, another encouraging sign. We ordered the buffalo dipped fried chicken sandwich and a red pulled pork sandwich. The Afghan rice was strongly suggested, sound different and interesting. The fried chicken in buffalo sauce was perfectly cooked and nicely seasoned. The red pulled pork sandwich was flavorful but was lacking in me wanting more. The Afghan rice had cardamon, cumin, raisins, sauteed carrots, clove, cinnamon and almond slivers. It was served with a side of chutney and was worth the try. The meal at Kosmos was good but the menu is not deep enough for me to investigate other menu selections. I feel like after 5 years the renovations should have been completed. If you are a local and haven't been here, give them a chance. The selections we chose were good. read more

We were in town for an event, and wanted to find a place that met criteria that some family members required. 1) cocktails 2) Mac & cheese 3) burgers. At first glance, the restaurant looks like a warehouse or some sort, but is completely different once you get inside. We chose outdoor seating as it was a nice day. Service was great. Overall I think the food was great, but some members of our family were recently getting over a stomach bug and didn't have much of an appetite, so a place with above average prices was probably not the best choice for us that day. I got the Banh Mi Burger with sweet potato fries. The fries were really delicious and crispy. The burger was great too, I added the additional patty to make it a double. My daughter had 2 sides for her meal. Mac and cheese and fried pickles. She loved both, but didn't care for the dipping sauce because it was spicy for her liking. Again she didn't have much of an appetite, so she only ate half of each. My son for the Diner Burger with fries (I don't remember the exact name of this style do fries). He loved the fries. His burger looked incredible with all the gooey cheese, but he didn't care for it because none of us (including him) realized he didn't like grilled onions. Their mother got the steak sandwich to go, which she ate later and liked. Nice little selection of cocktails and beers. We had an Old Fashioned and a local hazy IPA option. The food is delicious, the drinks are refreshing and they offer gluten free options for their sandwiches! I recommend their Cosmopolitan! There is an open patio for outdoor dining. A Yelp Elite friend turned me onto The Kosmos years ago for their green chile cheeseburgers, but _another_ foodie friend told me, "You're a fool if you miss out on the chicken sandwich; it's the best in town." Holy smokes, he was right. And I think the Afghan rice is the best lunch side you can find in Burque. Yum - I just went a few hours ago and (in all seriousness) writing this made me want to go back. Be aware that the restaurant is still open even during the massive remodel of the rest of the building. Once you're inside, you can't even tell there's construction going on out there, but obviously the cool arty patio The Kosmos once had is not there right now. One more thing - kinda weird, but it's noteworthy and it's not necessarily something you'd expect: restrooms here are ALWAYS clean. Clean, clean, clean! 100% of the time. I think the only other places I can say that about in town are the Seasons/Savoy sister restaurants. read more

I guess the honeymoon is over. The normally fabulous chicken sandwich was not good today...the chicken was overcooked, and the breading was not only falling off, but was greasy in a 'not drained before serving kind of way.' The lettuce was shredded, instead of a whole leaf, so the dressing and chicken made the bottom half of the brioche bun soggy. The tomatoes were mealy. My guest had the red chile pork sandwich. We visited last night with high expectations due to the great reviews. Apparently, so did the rest of Albuquerque. We showed up at 4:45 pm to a packed house with two 12+ person tables (birthdays?) and only 1-2 open tables. Our waiter advised that it might be a short wait to get food due to the aforementioned packed house and understandably backed up kitchen. All good. We were happy to order some drinks and wait for everything to level out. So while we waited, we soaked in the (very) unique decor. As everyone else has mentioned, it's very Meow Wolf. I appreciated the whimsical choices and offbeat decor almost as much as I loved the vaulted original wood ceiling. The chairs that someone mentioned were lawn chairs are actually pretty comfy and there's great people watching to be had. We ordered the Kosmopolitan and the margarita. I loved the very pink, very cold Kosmo, although my husband said the margarita was average. He gave perfect tens for his follow up round, the old fashioned. As we expected, the mostly-from-scratch kitchen did not disappoint. We got the pickles and Sputniks basket to start and the fried, homemade pickles are hand battered and DELICIOUS. tangy instead of salty with minimal grease and a homemade ranch to dip in made for a perfect experience. So much so that I took a few bites of dinner and declared myself stuffed. Not that the food was bad at all. I ordered the buffalo chicken with a side of afghan rice and Oh My Goodness. Heaven! Spicy and tangy and all of the things. The afghan rice was so unique and unexpected in the best way. Loved the handmade chimichurri that came with it too. The husband got the regular chicken sandwich with crinkle cut fries and picked his plate clean. I never mentioned the service, but our waiter Damian was fabulous. Low key but efficient, he had the perfect chill-yet-celebratory vibe for a Saturday night. The entire staff seemed to be a well-oiled machine, especially given the traffic they handled all night long.
