Service was good, but if you were in a hurry, you probably are going to think they take too long, so keep in mind that you should probably have some extra time in your hands so that they can make a drink. I ordered the hot chocolate, it was ok. A little too thick for my tasting.

The perfect beverages to satisfy your chocolate craving! My husband and I made a stop here on the weekend on a cold and semi rainy day! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This spot was perfect! They have indoor seating and drinks are served in these really cute mugs![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the French chocolate drink - served hot and made with condensed milk and whole milk - omg this was so good! Texture is a little thicker than usual hot cocoa and not quite as thick as some drinking chocolates I've had. So it was the perfect in between for me! My husband got the megachoco which he said was good but liked my drink more. We also shared an order of churros with Dulce de leche dipping sauce and that was also very delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was friendly, drinks were great, and atmosphere was nice![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We'll definitely be back again!

    Love the decor!

Loved this place! We were looking for some drinking chocolate (not hot chocolate) most of the time we'd have to do this in Portland since they have SO MANY drinking places but not so much in Seattle so we were so happy when we found this place and yesssss chocolate so thick you need a spoon So yes we ordered the Swiss style chocolate after the server recommended it to us and it came with lots of whipped cream and a stick of their own chocolate decadently melting into it The chocolate which the server mentioned would be pudding like, they were 100% right! Was phenomenal. Not super sweet at all and my husband and I shared one and still had some left in the mug after. The churros were lovely, crisp and hot and perfectly done in the middle (I've had way too many churros that were raw in the middle) and we dipped it in the chocolate we ordered yummy yummy [[HIGHLIGHT]]Oh and the place itself is so cute, vibrant with a mix of chairs and stools and lots of gift items to take home as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]By the way, they have a few game boards if you wanna kill some times and chillax[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If your in the area absolutely try these guys out they are awesome

Steve and and I were just thrilled by the Aztec option for drinking chocolate at Rey!

Excellent place to get drinking chocolate, churros, chocolates and other wonderful items! I got the Aztec which was a drinking chocolate that had unique ingredients and some corn involved. It was so very memorable and a joy to kick back and relax and do a slow sip on these types of drinks. Even bringing a friend to share a cup of such a beverage is a great idea as well! The churros are a delight! So very fresh and something you can just sink your teeth into and feel sheer bliss. Steve and I purchased some chocolate to take home and that was great too! As soon as we had it we were thrilled by it. If you are into trying different varieties of drinking chocolates or have some upper scale coffee drinks this place is a great idea when out and about in the Capitol Hill neighborhood!

Went here at around 10 am on a Saturday morning and I was the only customer there and I ordered a regular mocha. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is rather quaint and might be nice for some solo work time and people watching but I don't think it would fit a group well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cashier was nice and lovely and made my drink quickly. I found the mocha to be good, however, I guess I expected it to be better or different since it is a chocolate shop. But maybe should've gotten one of their more unique flavors to see the difference. Overall, I'd come back and try the other drinks and try the other flavors. Mocha - 7.5/10

During my trip to Seattle, I am so glad I stumbled upon this cafe as I was walking since I had such a memorable experience. I frequented this place just for the Mexican hot chocolate with corn and cinnamon. It was so unique and was the perfect combination of all 3 flavors. Each time I ordered, it was carefully crafted and piping hot. The chocolate tasted so rich, and I loved the little bits at the bottom of my mug. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also loved the barista's pleasant attitude, and the playlist was top-notch![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I hope Rey Amargo expands so I can enjoy this amazing beverage outside my visit to Seattle!

I've been on the hunt for a truly amazing hot chocolate, and this place absolutely delivered! The hot chocolate was perfection--rich, creamy, with the ideal blend of cocoa and cinnamon that made every sip pure bliss. I also tried their churros, and wow--just wow. They were crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had just the right level of sweetness. The chocolate dip? Hands down the best I've ever had. It tied everything together so beautifully, I almost didn't want to share! Also want to special mention the champurrado, its life changing and I think this is the best thing on the menu. On another note, the two nice men that served us was super fast and kind as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're craving authentic flavors and a cozy, welcoming vibe, this coffee shop is a must-visit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll definitely be back for more!

Their hot drinks are good! I got the Aztec chocolate and it was just right - not too sweet and had real chocolate bits inside. A nice spot to try if you want to change it up instead of going to a bar or a coffee shop to hang out. I appreciate how you can sub for alt milks for no charge. But I got full fat this time, no regrets! Inside is quiet with nice music, not too many seats but we didn't find it to be an issue around 1:30.

This is such a magical place. My husband and children first discovered it during mid winter break and had a return visit this morning as a sweet surprise on our anniversary (churros and hot cocoa were the perfect way to start my day). They have a variety of different hot cocoas with a sweetness scale ranging from one to seven and I've never known hot chocolate to be as delectable. The service is also so kind. I can't wait to sample the Mexican chocolate box he picked up as well later!

If you like a clean cute café cozy interior to drink your rich hot or cold chocolate, then this is the place for you. Everything in Rey Amargo has to do with chocolates and their specialities here are hot cocoas. I would recommend any of the drinks depending on the richness you prefer and the sweetness. However you can't go wrong with the drink if you like a rich chocolate flavor. The service was fast and efficient. No complaints here about it. :)

A really unique cafe that specializes in Mexican and Latin American styles of hot chocolate. Given that Seattle has coffee shops around every corner, this is a nice change of pace. The drinks can taste a bit watered down at times but it still hits the spot when you're craving a hot drink on a cold day and don't feel like coffee or tea. I think the drinks with the flavor combination of chocolate and corn are really interesting since it's not something common around here. The bitterness of the cacao and the toastiness of the roasted corn complements each other well. I also like that the drinks aren't too sweet and you can really taste the cocoa. This is a great place to get gifts for people. There's so many different flavors of hot chocolate mixes and they also have a lot of pre-packed gift boxes. The chocolate boxes are quite nice and are filled with a variety of truffles, but they can be a bit pricey.

I am so happy I found this place now since the weather has gotten so cold! This place specializes in a lot of variations of hot chocolate, including ones with corn which I found very special. I personally tried the Aztec chocolate which has a very rich chocolate and roasted corn taste with seeds, which is quite interesting. The drink is sweet but not overbearing, and it is just the right, hot temperature. -1 star for now since they didn't ask whether I wanted the drink to be prepared to-go or dine-in, which led to a somewhat subpar experience. I would have much rather preferred dine-in as the cups look kind of nice and I can enjoy the home-like and colorful ambience of the place more. This is temporary as I do intend to come back here to try more of their drinks, and hope that my next visit will redeem itself as a 5 star establishment.

This was the one that I was going to buy, so I was glad to sample it before purchasing. Their salted caramel is what they're known for because their owner, Fran, created it. France was also the Obama's chocolatier while he was in the White House. The chocolate was so creamy. I loved the sea salt and that you could actually taste it, rather than it being more mellow compared to the chocolate. Love the caramel too. it was perfect consistency, not too thick or thin. I decided to purchase two pieces of the salted caramel as a sweet treat this evening.
