steak fajita (lunch menu)
Erfan Z.

Food was decent. I had the lunch steak fajita for lunch. it was good. They surcharge like 3% for all. Service was a bit slow I waited like 20min for them to make the food, and I waited 5 min to be asked my order. Guess they were low staff And it took a long time to come bring my check to pay Clean, Good music, Good ambiance for relaxing and nice paintings Would recommend for quick lunch or casual dining

My $3.50 "extra" cup of salsa.

The foods good. Everytime I order takeout: it's missing salsa Or the chips. Or both. The extra cup of salsa Togo $3.50. Gave us half filled cups of salsa? If I'm going to spend my money I'd like you to give a f*ck about my food too. It's happened the last 3 times we ordered take out. I'll be going to SoCal or taqueria el pastorcito from now on, it's a waste of time ordering out they never get it correct & STILL short you on something.

I've eaten in once and taken out once and both times I was truly delighted. Generous portions, reasonable prices, friendly service! I love their chips and salsa and will probably order extra on my next to go order. I've tried a variety of food items and not a single one disappointed. The street tacos were really good and the taquitos were exceptional as well. The dining room has gorgeous hand-made tables and comfy booths. It gets busy for dinner even during the week but if you go in during the slow times it's very peaceful. Looking forward to going back soon. The only problem will be deciding what to order!

This is a small chain of 3 restaurants. This location is nothing fancy on the exterior, but there is some over the top heroic Aztec themed art inside. The service is efficient, and they do a good business. The portions are good an everything tastes authentic, although a little bland. We ordered draft beers and they were huge. My vegetarian special was just $8 (one dollar off the menu price. This is a we'll run establish with a loyal following, i don't think you can go wrong here.

Almost finished Grande Burrito w/ verde sauce! Hubbies favorite!

Great prices and good food. One of the only Mexican places in Pittsburgh that I have enjoyed. You have to try the Mark Burrito.

TL;DR Hands down personal favorite Mexican restaurant AND hands down best nachos you can get in…read morePittsburgh. I logged into Yelp for the first time in ~10 years tonight to leave a review. An objectively biased review. The most positively biased review possible. "Oh no", you're thinking, "*Bias*? Not in MY 5-star rating system." It's true. I admit everything. I am biased by how genuinely great Tepache is. By how *good* their chips are--crispy and flaky and perfectly seasoned. By their price-to-portion ratio, which takes me back to The Before Times--before COVID and politics and 6 dollar gas prices. By the quality of everything they serve which I have tried. All of it is top-notch. And by the good people who keep the place running. This is the thing that is biasing my review the most. Tonight, after a Grubhub glitch dropped our order into a wormhole, they were incredibly gracious and kind and offered to make another *and then drove it out to us*. It made our night good and not-hungry instead of bad and hungry, and for that we are beyond grateful. 6/5 stars. No, wait: 7/5.

The champagne margarita (on special as the featured cocktail that day) was delicious. So was the burrito bowl with steak. The Baja California Brussels sprouts were good but they are spicy!!! Our server was attentive and food arrived quickly. Looking forward to trying more of their menu!

It is bright, cheerful and very clean. The menu has the typical Mexican restaurant options like tacos, fajitas, quesadillas, enchiladas and burritos and the also have a kids menu. I love their chorizo con huevo because not a lot of places have that kind of dish on their menu. It is chorizo (theirs has a great deal of flavor and isn't greasy like chorizo sometimes can be), onions, peppers and eggs. They serve it with tortillas and rice. Lots of food and packed with flavor. I have also tasted the enciladas and my husband loved the cowboy burrito. For drinks, especially during the summer they have awesome daily specials. I've tried the watermelon water and the cucumber lime. So very refreshing! Service is friendly and attentive and they are great about answering any questions that you might have about menu items. I highly recommend having lunch or dinner here and then heading next door to the creamery for delicious ice cream.

Service was slow, all of our dishes were served warm at best (mine was cold), only exception being the fajitas which were served steaming hot. I had enchiladas plus a taco. Not very flavorful and skimpy on the fillings. A lot of tortilla and sauce but very little meat. My wife had the chili rellenos and while deep fried on the outside the cheese inside wasn't melted. One friend had the dish that they serve flaming (can't recall its name and I didn't get a pic) and it was meh. The fish tacos also not a highlight. The steak fajitas were said to be pretty good. Also note, chips and salsa are not complimentary, they charge $3.50 for soda water and have a sign at the entrance notifying a 5% discount if paying cash (i.e. a 5% credit card fee). I'm not sure if this was just an off night for them or not but there are a few Mexican spots in the area that are consistently good (Plaza Azteca in White Oak and El Campesino in Monroeville). I likely won't try Madero again.
