Went to get some tires installed and they wanted to rip me off with the typical lame excuses that "you need this and that". No, I have good knowledge and don't need that yet. I don't know what they did when they did the balancing and alignment but now my truck vibrates. I took it to another place and they told me one of the front tires didn't have the counterweight. Either they didn't install it or installed incorrectly and fell off. Although that helped a lot, it still vibrates some and am sure the technician didn't tighten a bolt or bolts properly. I don't recommend this place at all. read more

Two months ago I stopped in for a tire issue with low pressure. They were willing to stay to fix the tire the right way, by repairing the rim and resealing the tire. Called Rey's to get a tire repair because everybody in town told me it would be a day before I could get in. They not only got me in right away but found the tires had steel belts showing. I've been to other shops in the past where I was treated like I didn't know anything about cars because I'm female and the owners were very condescending. I work in the auto industry and know a thing or two about cars and what I don't know, I have plenty of mechanic friends with whom to run things by. Never once have I felt that Rey's has scammed me or attempted to scam me, nor are they condescending because of my gender. I've always been treated fairly and with respect. Hate giving reviews but if it's bad I need to share it, then you can decide if you want to go to this shop. Brought my car for the problem that my steering wheel "shakes" after putting my brakes on and the rear brakes need to be adjusted. Had fairly new rotor and pads, so maybe the rotors just need to be resurfaced to remedy the shakes. I'm no mechanic but if you ask any mechanic they can tell you the most likely problem which can be remedied by resurfacing the rotors. Then, I got a call after dropping off my car that I needed new calipers because it's not retracting and that's why it's pulling on the left. It's going to cost me $700+ to replace it but I don't have the money for the repairs, then I was offered that I can get a credit application. Which I gladly declined. Since I cannot afford the calipers and my credit is maxed out so I opted if they can resurface the rotors and adjust the rear brakes but the response was they cannot do it since it will be "unsafe" because the calipers are not retracting and they cannot guarantee the work. The option I have was either pay $49 for the brake check with nothing done or adjusting the rear brake which I will be charge for $99(‍). So, I paid the $99 instead. Rewind to reality. First did I mention that the brakes was pulling on the left when I was braking? I don't think so. Second, they were fixated in getting new calipers cause they were not retracting. Did I notice that when I was driving? I don't think so. Not retracting means low gas mileage cause my brakes are stuck and you could feel the engine is straining more starting from full stop or in passing, which I did not notice. They won't even resurface my rotor probably because it might solve the problem of my steering wheel from shaking and spending less. Quick to the draw to open a credit application is the solution to my problem, nah i don't think so. I am not a mechanic but I use to fix stuck calipers and adjust brakes, NOW I DON'T HAVE THE TIME. The car drove wonderfully, in spite of the fact that something significant went wrong with the engine at the last minute. Went in for a wheel alignment and it is usually $69.95, I've repeatedly gone to them for a wheel alignment and got my tires replaced by them twice. They charged me $99.95 when I left but only noticed when I got home. So I called and before i gave any information on myself or my car I asked how much a wheel alignment was and he stated $79.95, and I asked if he was sure and that it's usually $69.95 and he said yes "it's posted on the wall" inside of the building and that the price went up $10 in January. So i asked why I was just charged $99.95 and he did not know what to say so passed the phone to someone else and a gentleman stated that the previous person I was speaking to "doesn't know what he's talking about" and stated it's $99.95. I told him I've never been charged that much and have all of the previous receipts and attached today's and my most previous one as well. When I told him that Goodyear and Belletire charge no more than $60-$70 he stated "I know" and that was the end of the call. Will not be going back. read more

They made some terrible suggestions to me and probably do to everyone else too. Right after I had oil change service done, they wanted brakes changed and indicated a strange noise comes from my car when my car starts. Ok fine, what kind of brake pads can you put on? "Well the good ones start at over 80 dollars, if you go with cheap $40 ones you'll regret it. They won't last a year" Regret what exactly? I can buy a set of wagner thermoquiets for $35 from advanced auto parts and they are the best pads out there. Then I asked them to replace my starter if they think it's so bad, they wanted $89 for an "engine inspection". You kidding me? That's more than the cost of a starter itself! I walked out of there declining their suggestions, didn't give them another dime and never will again. It's no wonder these morons can't expand their business throughout Detroit, they think the motor city doesn't know anything about their own cars. When you go here and they list all the problems with your vehicle, buy the parts from the internet and then contact a mechanic off craigslist to do the job for a fraction of the cost. Give these auto scammers nothing, because they deserve nothing. read more

Gave me a great price for an oil change and tire rotation on my first visit but upon retuning and getting the same service I was charged $20 more than my initial visit. Had the regular price been posted this would be a different story. I was told when I came in the first time there was a "special" on an oil change/tire rotation. The sign I saw did not say anything about the price being a "special". was also told I needed a coolant flush which would cost an additional $240. A coolant flush generally costs between $90-$120 (at most); this place is a scam! read more

Very disappointed I toke my car there and asked for my brakes to be checked out they told me I needed a lot of work on the entire brake system that was going to cost over $1000.00 I was limited on what I could afford at the time and wanted to do it in 2 stages they told me they would NOT do the work unless i got it all done (they stated it was for safety reasons) I toke the vehicle to two other repair shops the next day and BOTH places told me that I did not need all that they stated I needed (I got two opinions to make sure) and they both told me the same the total cost to fix my vehicle was under $300.00 and the brakes work great I guess they did me a favor because I now have a new service shop it really felt like they where just trying to pad the job with unnecessary repairs read more

My mother used to bring her cars here all the time. Thought she was being treated fair on prices. Well after them having to replace a throttle body 3 times and being a "700$" part i started looking into all the repair forms they gave her. I then brought my own car there and they over charged on most of the repairs they did. They couldn't even align her car with the right suspension in it, which lead to replacing more stuff that would have been fine other wise. They would charge 2 hr of labor for a half an he job. Is it because shes a women and im some "kid" being 20 at the time Im not sure. Me being a mechanic my self im not going to screw people over like these people. Do not go here. Find another place. I have been working with Rey's for about a month now to get after market wheels put on my car. The first set of wheels did not fit and I had to have them test fit twice to satisfy the manufacturer that the front wheels were no good. Mike, Scott & Jerry were super cooperative on getting this done. I just got replacement wheels and Rey's installed them along with new tires and an alignment. They did a super job at a great price. Despite the necessary evil of car repair, my past experiences at Rey's have been very positive. The staff was very courteous and took the time to show me the actual parts on my car that had failed and explain specify what was wrong. The prices are very reasonable. After checking another shop for pricing I was told Rey's was giving me a good deal. On top of that, Rey's bettered their price when I had the work done, which was greatly appreciated.
