Went striper fishing yesterday with Raith. 3rd time I've fished with Raith this year. We trolled various different lures all day and into the night. We caught limits and even tossed back the 15lber I caught. It started off slow but Raith continued to take us to all his spots. Until we started to get into the fish. OK. Just used RH for a salmon guide trip on 10/09/2016. He is well respected from other guides and is on TV a lot. However, I read this one review and was a little concern. First, the bad review was from a guy who has only put negative reviews on YELP. Nothing positive Here is my opinion. If you want to catch fish and get your limit RH is the best. Hands down. The other guides say the same thing. We had all 8 salmon in the boat in 2 hours and 28 minutes. Crazy!!!! If you want a full day on the water and maybe get a fish or two go with someone else. I loved catching the salmon but I would have liked to be on the boat a little long. It seems weird that I am complaining that we caught them too quickly. Also, I took my kids and RH and and his deck hand did well with them. No cursing. They helped them out. read more

RH Guide Service has gotten jaded when it comes to customers and following fish & game regulations, They had a good following so I assumed they were ok. I booked 4 trips, First one was in Feb on the Yuba River, my brother in law and myself, Raith had a deckhand on the boat for we didn't know why, We caught only 2 stippers, one decent one and a small one and a small bass, Raith did a lot of talking about himself and how good he is at fishing, tooting his own horn which is ok for awhile and how badly we were at fishing even though we have been fishing over 50 years,. Second trip 4 of us on the Sacramento River for Stripers in early May, no deckhand this time which was alot better with that many on a boat, fished from 4:00 PM to 1:30 in the morning and caught 2 barely legal stripers, all night all we heard was how bad we were at fishing, we were not supposed to pump while fish on, we didn't know how to cast and you name it Raith was the man and we didn't know anything, he heckled my brother so much that on the way home all we could talk about was how Raith had made our trip not good and then I knew I was going to dread the next 2 trips. The third trip was a week later in May and we met at 3:00 but Raith didn't show until 3:40, this trip the 4 of us included my other brother in law because my step son couldn't go and now Raith had a new deckhand named Todd who was his friend on the boat, 6 of us and on a 20ft boat, we started out bait fishing which didn't make sense for a guide to be doing instead of drifting minnows but that would have cost Raith money and the $1000 I paid each trip I guess wasn't enough to buy minnows, we bait fished for hours like a bunch little kids with nibbles here and there, again we had to hear how good Raith was and now we didn't know even how to hunt ducks, its was Raith this and Raith that, even his kids were excellent at everything, While we were bait fishing Todd & Raith were cutting up several packages of sardines in small pieces and I thought are we gonna use all that but nope they started chucking it in the water and I thought holy crap he is chumming for fish which is illegal, so I say Raith have you ever used cream corn to chum fish because I had heard of people doing that and he say no not cream corn just regular corn, then I knew it didn't matter to him if it was legal or illegal. Of the 3 trips now he only asked for our license on the second trip so he had no clue what my other brother in laws name was or license number which is also against guide regulations, nor were we ever given a written statement what to expect as required, we didn't even know if there were life jackets on the boat as he was flying down the river in the dark full speed, what was more amazing is his buddy pulls out a few marijuana joints proceeds to smoke them with my brother in laws , what guide services does that I thought to myself. Well Raith just couldn't control himself and after two line and lure hang ups he starts on my brother in law yelling at him, well that didn't set well and my brother in law says Raith and I done fishing, and its midnight by now and Raith good then sit down and that when I said screw this and told Raith take us back to the launch so he does, his buddy starts weighing in and I told him to shut up, we get back and Raith keeps the only striper we caught that night, next day I text him what an ass he was and he starts saying how f--- up were are, I demand that nights and the upcoming night refund which he did only after I explained all the illegal stuff he did, once I got the check and cashed it I text him and he calls me and starts saying what a loser I am and all of us and how much more money he has than me and I don't know s---- how he has 6 kids to feed and that he said he called guides I had fished with in the past and told him bad s--- about us and on and on. Honest to God he thinks he is the man and all he is one of those guys who belittles others, Him and Todd were fishing all night after I had told them out of the gate if they hooked a fish not one of us would reel it in because we didn't catch it, so we couldn't out they were fishing on my dime. Anyone who fishes with Raith you remember this story and you will wish you listened, they are some really good guide out there and I fish with alot of guides but NEVER have I fish with someone who acts like Raith read more
