I'm extremely particular about services and have never taken the time to write a yelp review. However, the Rhino crew (Joseph and Eddie (?) [sorry, I'm bad with names]) more than exceeded my expectations. The men were extremely efficient and fast. They finished an hour early and even offered to help set up one of my daughter's items after completing their work. They were very polite and a breeze to work with. Made the move essentially stress free, which never happens. They were also substantially cheaper than any other movers who provided me with pre-move quotes. The owner was extremely patient and responsive to all of my pre-move questions, even contacting me after business hours to respond to my inquiries. I spoke with the owner Alexei prior to my move. At the time he quoted me a maximum of $500 for the move, but when I went to sign the paperwork I was billed nearly $700 because he said I had extra items that weren't discussed prior to the move. The movers worked very hard and as quickly as possible. However, they broke my bed frame when assembling it which I only discovered later that evening when the bed collapsed on me. My recliner was also broken, but I was able to fix it to the point where it's useful. I discussed all of these matters with Alexei over the phone twice, submitted photos to him as he asked, and now one month later have heard absolutely nothing. Beware of grossly inaccurate quotes. We were quoted 450 max. Went over 2hrs the estimated time because they only sent 2 people, when normally they send 3. Then ended up paying 1000 dollars. They got to our apartment, took all our stuff, got to our new apartment when refused to start unloading until we paid 1000 dollars (1400 if we paid with our card????). They tried to pressure us to pay in cash as well. Reviewing cameras to see why they took 4 hrs to load the truck (even though we had already packed everything up) and somehow it only took 2 hrs to unload it. The good: The movers busted their butts and worked quickly. Very flexible with everything that was thrown at them. Handled a move from a 3 floor townhome to a 17th floor apartment pretty well. The bad: I was given a quote online, with a required downpayment of $100. I paid the $100 online, on a Wednesday the 31st. The move was scheduled for the 9th. After I made the payment, I was expecting some sort of communication from the company confirming my move and the time of arrival for the move. On Monday, the 5th, I sent an email asking for verification that we were all set for the move on the 9th. It wasn't until Wednesday, after I sent another message asking for confirmation, that I was contacted by Alexei. It felt that he was put off with me asking for verification that everything was scheduled and lined up for Friday. Friday morning I received a phone call letting me know the movers would be arriving within an hour, at 9am. About 30 minutes later, I received another phone call - this time from the movers themselves - stating that they were on their way and would be there in an hour, at 9:30am. Okay, whatever - movers showed up and loaded up the truck. In the midst of the move, we had a framed photograph damaged by shattered glass. The movers stated they notified their supervisor and that he was already on it. Well, its been 4 days now with no word from the company. Granted, they'll only pay $0.60 per pound, so its really not going to be anything helpful. This move is less about the movers, but more about the company in general. My first time hiring pro movers was great with Rhino. In the past, I always used a UHaul and some general labor, which is time-intensive and difficult. The 3 movers (Masoud, Eric, and Tori) were all great and professional. They moved boxes, couches, a bed etc. and had it in the new place in only 2 hours. The couch didn't fit through the door in the new place so they moved it in through the 2nd story balcony window quickly. They made sure to not scratch anything and the new flooring. These guys are fast, efficient, and affordable. It would have taken me and 2 day workers 8 hours to do the job they did in 2 hours. Good: They rescheduled our move date from Friday to Saturday mid week. The Bad: Alexei said they had a crew ready for Saturday morning move to arrive between 8a-9a. At 9:15a Alexei said their crew had been calling me for 30 minutes with no answer, and so they left for another job. Alexei's call went through. The crew that finally showed up at 9:45a, their call went through. Assumption: Alexei scrambled to get a crew together for that Saturday morning because he never had a crew to begin with. Rhino Moving charges $145 an hour for 3 movers and a truck to come with moving supplies like blankets, dollies, runners, mattress bags, and wardrobe boxes. While the guys that came by that morning were nice, only two of them were healthy. The third was limping and groaning and could barely move things. So was it worth $145 an hour? Also, they only had one mattress bad for a two bedroom apartment. The conclusion: I don't blame the movers for this poor review of Rhino Moving. They're just coming in last second trying to bail somebody else out. They're just trying to make some bread during covid. Every wardrobe box they provided ended up with my hanging stuff on the floor. Moving is never easy, let's be real. I've done it a number of times and I'm past bribing my friends with pizzas and beer so it's essential to find professionals who can help you out and get you on your way with the important stuff. This is 100x more important now that we exist in a world with COVID-19. The movers I'd relied on for a few previous moves went out of business, to my dismay, so I was on the hunt for a new crew to help me with a move my one bedroom one bath life from a second story walk-up in Mission Valley to a 13th floor high rise apartment. I was pretty stressed because you can never anticipate everything. Thankfully I made the choice with Rhino based on their reviews and Alexei and his staff were exemplary. Vlad, Vladimir, and Francisco are pro's pros and couldn't be nicer. I had everything boxed up for them and ready to go and they arrived at 8:30 AM as promised in their 8-9 AM window which lined up perfectly with my elevator window of 10-12 at my destination. Everything was loaded quickly, furniture was disassembled, wrapped with care in shrink wrap and/or blankets, . They had me loaded and were underway right in time for my elevator. Once at my new home, everything was offloaded quickly and safely but we had a few challenges along the way. The fire doors had to be propped open manually because they were undergoing maintenance. No problem--my crew adapted and overcame that! You can imagine my horror when I found out that the couch I own (and love) would not fit into the doorway thanks to the narrow hallway. My movers had the brilliant idea of unscrewing the plastic feet using their tools they brought and then reattaching them once inside the unit--what an incredible relief! They were done and dusted by 11:45 AM and I could set about unpacking and running 1st day errands. Can't recommend them enough and I'll definitely be using them next time I have to make a big move! I called to get a quote and the response was quite quick Within an hour they called me back and discussed rates and everything was straight forward. I scheduled a move with Rhino moving and gave them a 100 dollar deposit. On the day of the move a driver arrived at our address and informed me that their truck was stuck. He said that he was contacting his boss and that they were getting a tow truck. He assured me that there would be another truck and that the move would happen. He called to say the truck was being towed away. That was the last I heard from Rhino movers. I called repeatedly that day, no answer and mailbox not set up so no voice mail. On a most stressful day this group totally let us down and did not even have the courtesy to tell us that they were not coming back. This company claims an A+ Better Business Bureau rating in their advertising, when in fact the A+ rating appears to be for a different company based in Van Nuys California. The only reference I could find to this moving company with BBB is an F rating. I hired Rhino to move our daughter in San Diego. Pre-move, Alexei was extremely responsive, replying to emails and messages immediately. It has now been over 4 weeks since the move, and he has not replied to any email, text, or a voice messages. I also reached out to our crew chief, who said he would pass along the message - still nothing. The two movers were very nice, though unprepared. I had made it clear when booking that our daughter had a lot of "stuff" for a one bedroom apartment. Here are our issues: (1) written contract says Rhino will provide 4-5 wardrobe boxes; they brought 2. We ended up moving most of her clothes in her vehicle - super inconvenient, time-consuming and avoidable, (2) At the start of the move, the girls pointed out which boxes were going and which boxes were staying (roommate to a different address later). Movers appeared to understand, but loaded up roommate's boxes (not noticed immediately because of the bed issue in item 6 below). When this error was discovered, crew was asked to leave those boxes on the truck to be returned, yet they carried them upstairs at the new location and left it to us to carry them back down to the truck. (3) A wooden stair tread was badly damaged at the move-out property, and a mirrored nightstand was destroyed during the move. The crew insisted on full cash payment and told us to file a claim for the damage, stating that it would be paid. Alexei has ghosted us and not replied to even a single post-move message. (4) The written contract says that all moving supplies are included; we were charged an additional $50 for a roll of plastic wrap. (5) prior to the move, I asked about removing wall-mounted TVs and brackets. Alexei told me that they would remove TVs and brackets, but they could not re-install due to liability issues. I understand. TVs were taken off the walls and brackets left in place for the customer to remove later. (6) The estimate was 3.5-6 hours to complete the move. Again, I made it clear that there was a LOT to move and I even listed possessions. Alexei made light of my concerns and assured me he was estimating comfortably. The actual move took over 8 hours (they did subtract time spent returning items to the original property that should not have been moved in the first place), and that included the customer doing full disassembly and reassembly of a king bed that had been discussed prior to contracting. I had felt so reassured during the process of setting up this move. Communication was excellent and immediate. Once things started going awry, it is so disappointing to not even have a single message returned. Rhino and I don't have to agree on every item and outcome, but it is unacceptable to not even engage in conversation. I have been trying to reach Alexei for more than four weeks with no success. read more

The movers were 1.5 hours late when driving to my new house. They said they needed a break and needed to fill up on gas. I ended up paying for all that time, and I ended up doing most of the heavy lifting. The entire move should have taken only 3 hours, but I got billed for 4.5 hours. read more

Unfortunately some of our items were damaged in the move. They did not use blankets on any of the pieces that were damaged so dressers and other furniture made of wood have lots of visible damage. The movers were nice and efficient but at the expense of my furniture. Do NOT book these movers!! I was only moving 15 minutes away from a 1 bedroom apartment but I still tried to find the best movers in the area. I'm assuming this company has movers that are better but book with extreme caution. Rasheed was absolutely wonderful and very helpful. But Matt broke several pieces of furniture, could not keep his mask on for more than 2 minutes, and stood around on his phone most of the day. This review is in no reflection of Rasheed because he truly was fantastic. Positives: - My stuff got from point A to point B (some of it broken) - They arrived on time Negatives: - I only had 3 pieces of furniture I cared about. The rest was getting donated. 2 of those 3 pieces ended up partially broken or damaged. - I was told there were no hidden fees but definitely feel as though I was overcharged. The second they arrived they started the clock even though they were just sitting in the car for 20 minutes. They took 2 breaks during a 3 hour shift (which apparently I was responsible for paying for?). Realistically it should have only taken 3 hours to move a 1 bedroom apartment a few miles down the road. But because only one mover was really working, they wanted to add on several additional hours. My husband and I ended up doing all the heavy lifting ourselves to avoid unnecessary costs. The whole point of hiring movers was to avoid that. - I labeled all the boxes clearly to show what room they go to. I also included a map and clear instructions. Everything ended up in the wrong room and it's been a pain trying to find boxes now. - I would tell them how to lift something like a sun-dried pot, they didn't listen and then spilled dirt everywhere and broke the pot. While we were waiting for the movers to show up at the new place with all our stuff, I called their supervisor, Alexei. I was told he'd call them and it seemed he was going to try and make it right. But then when it came time to pay, he didn't offer any kind of help or discount. Their company policy for broken items is $0.60/lb which is essentially nothing. They not only left my belongings in the hall so things got stolen but now as I account all the damage I can not even use my bedroom dressers because the drawers are wedged shut. Highly recommend these movers and this company. When I first contacted them on Yelp, they responded quickly with details and sent over the contract electronically. When it came to moving day, they came on time and worked efficiently. They had wardrobe boxes for all our clothes on hangers and mats on the floor and stairs. They also made sure to put padding on doors when moving items. They were also polite and made sure to double check which rooms items and boxes would go in. The movers were Kendell, Bradley, and someone with a V (I can't read the handwriting on the move form, so I may be butchering their names hahaha). We were moving from a 2 bedroom one story house to a 3 story 3 bedroom townhome and it took less than 4 hours. What is one of the most stressful things in life BESIDES deciding what to eat for dinner? MOVING! For over a month now, my husband and I have been wondering how we were going to do it and how we could get it done. My husband called them three days ago to schedule a move after out original movers tried to change prices on us and days and times! The scheduler on the phone was always professional and friendly. On moving day l, they called us about 20 minutes beforehand to let us know they were on their way. Kendall and Trey were friendly from the get go and settled our worries that were still there from the first moving company. They wrapped our furniture carefully but fast and I even think Kendall is a Tetris master. Trey also put our minds' at ease as we were worried about our son's anxiety over moving.
