I thought about it for awhile and finally called them and asked if they actually weigh the meat or eyeball it. The response I received was yes they weight all of it and it had lost liquid. The loss of liquid is why it weighs less now. I have a hard time believing it evaporated a 1/2 pound in 30 minutes time.

And the food is now perfection. It's the perfect menu for the vibe. I love that they just kept tweaking it until they were happy with it. The best part is grill is open the entire time the bar is open. I ordered food at like 1am. And it was incredibly well priced and delicious. Fried pickles, fried mushrooms, and the jalapeno burger were SO tasty. The jalapeños were these candied delicious bites. Also, they now host karaoke on Saturday nights, and it was a blast! I was with the theatre crowd, and I can speak for the group and say we'll definitely make this an after show/cast party destination from now on for great food and drinks. The fried mushrooms are hand breaded and not just fried from frozen, and they are worth getting every single visit. The ranch is top notch. They offer a really delicious Saturday brunch menu, but I wish they would do Sunday brunch. They decorate big for Christmas every year, which is really fun. And they have a seasonal photo area that always has a cute backdrop. The only real struggle with Max's is consistent service. It seems like they are always short-handed and very slow. They take reservations for big groups, but don't actually use them, so you still have to wait, which defeats the purpose of reservations. But I'll continue to go for those fried mushrooms!
