Rib Crib is an Oklahoma based restaurant that first came to Sherman in 2014, currently there are 39 Rib Cribs with 33 being in Oklahoma and 6 in Texas. I have been a regular customer for the five years they've been in Sherman and I like to encourage others that want really good barbecue to give them a try. The menu has lot of choices and combinations, anyone that can't find something to their liking is probably too picky. We walked in and were greeted then seated that's fine. But we sat there looking at the menu waiting for someone to take our drink order and such but were never addressed. There were 2 other groups that were seated at least 5 mins after us and they had drinks instantly on their table while we were still waiting for the server to come check on us. Yes it's a chain. But the food was pretty good. The place looks like your average American restaurant with wooden seating and a nice liquor filled bar. The food is solid. I ordered the chicken and rib combo with mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. The meats were tasty. The ribs were tender, easy to pull off the bone, and the chicken moist. The sauces weren't my favorite but maybe that's because I've grown up eating Texas BBQ all my life. I wasn't a huge fan of the sides, as the mac & cheese was bland, tasting more of cream than cheese. read more

I've only had the BBQ sandwiches and salads. In a pinch they're good. The Carolina Mustard sauce and the spicy on the table add a little extra. Salads have some strange, tasteless onion rings on them. Other than that they're good as well. read more

First off, my wife and I are not from Sherman but we have a very large family here. For a big gathering for a grandsons wedding, we ordered a big order of ribs to serve. And since we have one of our other grandsons working there it seemed the likely choice. Everyone at the dinner raved about the ribs. They were absolutely delicious and extremely tender. I have never seen ribs fall completely off the bone. Amazing. My recommendation go there and enjoy. It's not a fast food trap. The meat is expertly prepared and the staff are very open to your needs. I cannot give enough superlatives to express just how good it is. I very glad my grandson is associated with you and giving him an excellent insight on how a good business is operated. The visit started well as we were seated relatively quick considering there was a few people ahead of us. Things quickly declined after we were seated. It took 15 minutes before we ever had a server come to our table. And the only reason that we got served when we did was because my daughter got up and told the host that everyone who had come in after us was already being served their dinners. Appetizers were good. One of orders was the chicken fried steak. The mash potatoes literally were cold enough in the middle to make you assume that they just came out of the refrigerator. Throughout dinner our server was not very good. Literally tried to bring us our bill within minutes of our food finally getting to our table only to realize that she came to the wrong table. Never offered desert to our table although the other groups around us all had the offer made. All in all, this was a very poor experience. It has a nice atmosphere. But whatever they put in their seasoning did not sit well with me and the food was overpriced.

Okay, first off, I am a BBQ junkie. I slow cook and grill meat, but it isn't BBQ. One day I will have a smoker, until then Rib Crib is my home. Oh hell, it will still be then. I am in the Sherman, TX area, which is a melting pot of BBQ styles, Rib Crib addresses each of them. To tell you how much I am there, even the back of the house recognizes me. The BBQ ribs, brisket, and sausage were very dry and expensive. Cheap toasted white bread instead of a hot roll. The food was not good but the waiter was very nice. Will not be returning to eat there again. read more

The ribs were really good. I liked the hot bbq sauce for the most part but it had a bit too much vinegar than I would prefer. I had the all you can eat ribs and I was full without getting another helping. The sweet n smoky beans were excellent. Service was somewhat slow but there was only one girl for the bar and 7 tables so I can let that slide. I wasn't in a hurry anyways. I don't live near a Rib Crib but I would definitely go back if I did. Next time though, I would probably get a different side than their fries. They reminded me of Long John Silver's fries with a little seasoned salt and onion powder. No offense to them. I just didn't enjoy them personally. read more

I should not be giving one star to begin with. Every time I call an order in to be picked up I have a problem with the condition of the food. Whom ever takes care of the Sherman Texas location needs to freshen up the kitchen staff on food handling. I know from being in the food and beverage business for most of my teen's and some 20's that the standards at this restaurant are less than average in most cases. I know when you take the food handlers class in Grayson County you are taught the proper handling of food. The condition in which I receive my salad every time I order one is atrocious. Lettuce is not supposed to be clear, mushy or just wilted. This is improper storage and handling of food. When the kitchen staff makes a salad you would think they would make sure it was fresh and when they have to remake that salad at least once a week for the same person/office they would try to get it right then. It's a salad!! Why is it so hard to get fresh lettuce. It has not been just a few times that this has happened but about ten consecutive times. Come on guys. read more

Pretty good bang for your buck as far as a chain BBQ joint goes. The pigman sandwich is great. Fried pickles are awesome. The food is always good and staff friendly and attentive. The only knock on the place is the cleanliness the two times I have been there were dirty tables and trash and food on the floors. read more

Absolutely wonderful ribs...melt in your mouth. A bit pricey but money well spent!

This is our go-to restaurant! My daughter is not a fan of bbq but they have plenty of smoked chicken options on their menu. Recently, I took a photo of their Sante Fe Spud and got tons of thanks from the ones that went that night and tried one. They are sooooo good!! read more
