we have frequented this Cheddars many times. other than minor things-haven't felt the need to bother with a revie. today we were there directly across from the aquarium. there was a dead fish floating in there. not terribly appetizing and you know kids like to watch the fish. ok. so I tell a bell hop. We had noticed that the MOD had walked by several times not giving us or the aquarium a second loo. We bring to our waitresses attention. she said she would pass it along. then the manager walked by again-so we call her over. she became very loud...(maybe to be sure everyone heard and didn't mention again?). there was a bigger fish nibbling at the dead one. she let us know that there was nothing the staff could do about it because a company maintains the aquarium. Stating she's heard it 20 times today. "ok, can you cover it up?". she laughs-continuing to talk loudly. she was very unprofessional and it was not a good experience. lots of kids around. read more

I've eaten here many times for years and always had a positive experience. I always sit at the bar. The food has always been great and the only issue I have dining here is the water. Order water and it comes out of an unfiltered tap. Tastes chlorinated... I'm stuck drinking beer on my late morning meal but I would rather have water. read more

Went to Cheddar's in Sherman tonight (2/7/26). Our server was AMAZING! I took a bite of my Buffalo Chicken Wrap and there was a...hair in it! Everyone at my table, especially me, was repulsed. My server alerted a manager to my situation. She came over and I explained what happened, her response was, "Strange, no cooks have gray hair". She shrugged and walked away. I do have some gray hair, but nor a full head, my hair is past my shoulders (the hair in my food was shorter), the hair was INSIDE the wrap and my hair is up in a bun. I felt her comment was unnecessary. I spoke softly, didn't bring any attention to the situation and I received a sparky comment with shrugging shoulders. I'd give negative stars if I could. I'll never go back. Be careful if you go here...not because we're all human and things happen, but because you'll be dismissed when sharing your experience. read more

Had dinner at Chedders in Sherman Saturday. And I haven't been there in quite a while. I was kind of disappointed in it actually. And Jerry was as well. I had a burger and it was just kind of plain and really tasted as if it had no seasoning to it. We got the onion ring appetizer so I could eat them with my burger because you cannot order them with a burger, you have to get the whole appetizer to go with it. And they brought them out but they didn't bring any plates to eat them on so we waited quite a while for someone to come by to bring us a plate to eat them on. By the time we got the plates the onion rings were cold. Jerry got the country fried steak and he said it was kind of bland also. And to me it was kind of pricey for what we got. And the quality of the food. The restraunt is getting older and from all I could see in it from the booths that forbid you to see anything from were you sit unless you stand up are kind of confinding. Especially if you are a person like me who likes to go out and look around while you are dining. Just not my kind of place. But others might like that sort of thing. read more

We like coming here but, we don't come often. The restaurant always has a weird smell?. We like to sit in the bar area and haven't had an issue with service because the bar tender is right there. Food was awful. We had the onion rings for an appetizer. They were very greasy tasting and most were just batter and no onion. I had the shrimp alfredo. Alfredo sauce was very grainy and had an aftertaste. Shrimp were good. Not overcooked. Garlic bread that came with the dish had no garlic. We were not given any extra plates for our appetizer. The service was ho-hum. We only saw here when she took our order and gave us the check. Someone else delivered our food. My husband had the chicken pot pie, which he said was good. Let's start backwards. The food has improved, it was OK. It has risen a level. Service has always been dicey but has improved as well. The croissants are brilliant when done right. Here are my thoughts on my last 2 visits. 10/25/2021 Food was really good! The roach we had on our table was really bad, kinda friendly in a buggy sort of way. Service was slow and remained slow the whole time. After delivering the roach ( alive ) to the manager he saw walked by the table and said " sorry bout that ". Thats all. No offer to take something off our 89 dollar bill, no offer of a desert or even just asking us to please return and try again. 5 stars for great food Minus 4 for the uninvited guest and the slow service. Edit: 10/30/2021 Returned to the same restaurant, sat 2 tables away from the same area. I sent a complaint to Cheddars corporate 2 days after the above incident and their response was swift and decisive, received personal email the same day, phone call and discussion over how training, cleaning and pest control was engaged immediately in correcting the problem. Quality company with outstanding upper management, very concerned and connected to making sure problems are addressed. Service was quick, no uninvited guest, food was outstanding. I am giving 5 stars just because management is very involved and concerned about every aspect of customer experience. Cellarmans needs to learn from these folks. read more

From the Ice Tea to Chicken Lunch and Chicken Strips.The most pathetic lunch ever tried to eat! The stench of sewer or filth was gross!

Waited 1/2 hour to get lukewarm chicken on the salad, and barely wRm, mushy fish and chips. When I saw the table get their food in just a few minutes the server said something about ours should be out soon. I sent mine back. Had to track someone down (mgr?) to get receipt. He questioned why the bill was low, I had already said three times the wait was ridiculous and the food bad, he hasn't responded. Finally he said it depends on what you order. A salad and fish and chips - really? I told him I didn't have another 1/2 hour to wait. He said they could have remade it in 4 minutes. (Hmmmm) and to remember that for next time. Stopped in for a quick dinner...it was dinner but certainly not quick. It took about 15 minutes to even get acknowledged after being seated. It was another 10 to 15 minutes before we received our drinks. The food was decent, but the service was terrible. My grilled chicken pecan salad was tasty, and the ranch was delicious. The honey butter croissants were yummy, too. The grilled chicken sandwich was good with delicious baby carrots. I'm not sure I'd return to this location because of the slow service. read more

Absolutely do not waste your time going to this location. Our first red flag should have been the fact that the building smelled like sewage. I ran to the restroom while the rest of my party was seated. There was an employee standing in the doorway of the women's restroom yapping to some lady inside the restroom. Never once did she say "excuse me" or make any effort to move so I could go in. The hostess asked "table or booth" and when we responded "table" she proceeded to ask "well... is a a booth okay?" Like why ask? When I met up with my party that same employee was taking their order. My party told them that they had one more coming and when the employee turned around and saw me she said "Oh, you actually do have someone else coming". When I sat down in the booth there was a dirty wad of napkins in the seat and there was stuff stuck all on the table. This made it apparent that this booth obviously hadn't been cleaned. We asked to move to another booth (which was also dirty and had to be wiped down). When the first employee walked up with our drinks, one of the cups had a huge wad of food or something stuck on the side. That is when we decided to leave and no employee apologized or seemed to care. If I could give zero stars I would. No one was polite or friendly and the restaurant was nasty. read more

I usually order the veggie plate to go and am consistently very happy with it. On my order last Sunday July 28, each side was about half the amount I normally receive. What a huge disappointment to order 4 sides that didn't even amount to two normal sides. Rice is cheap, beans are too. The only thing that was up to par was the Ceasar salad. And these were divine, warm, flaky, and drizzled with a perfect amount of something sweet. Chicken Alfredo with broccoli: 10/10 Great flavor, large serving's. Chicken buffalo wraps with fries: 8/10 Large serving and kid approved. Steak with coleslaw & salad: 10/10 Perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Salad with candied pecans: 8/10 the I think the salad could have been better off with feta cheese instead of cheddar. But still overall filling and delish! Appetizer sampler: 10/10 We loved this so much. Came with chicken tenders (toe best ever: crispy and moist) chips and salsa, spinach & queso dip! Never had this issue and will not put up with it again. Took a booth in the bar, after 10 minutes of waiting for iced teas, we got up and asked to be seated in another section. The front end people went to ask where they could seat us. We were brought to the far back end of the restaurant. We again waited for someone to take our drink order. A waitress, Lindsey, came by to check on us. Nobody was working our booth so she took over. Our server turned the mess around and was very nice. Went to dinner with a group of 5 people. Ordered sweet tea but the tea tasted really old so swapped for sodas. 3 of the 5 orders were missing something or not how they were ordered. No bourbon glaze with salmon (which was severely over cooked) but was remedied by the waitress and the mashed potatoes didn't come with the gravy that was ordered, the chicken fried chicken was ordered with gravy on the side but ended up being put on top of the chicken fried chicken, and another guest asked for mushrooms but didn't get them initially. The waitress did eventually fix all the errors, but service was really slow. While there another table left because they were ever serviced. Definitely not up to par on Sunday evening 6/2/24. Lots of open (clean) booths but had to wait for a booth to be cleaned. Were escorted to the table to find it wet, including the seats. I mentioned it to an associate and was given several napkins to dry it myself. Wife and I waited for about 10 minutes with no interaction from staff. We decided to give up and leave and noticed two servers sitting in a booth with cell phones in their hands. Were rudely talked to at the exit by the hostess, that seated us, indicating we just didn't wait long enough. Not sure what was going on that night, one whole seating section was not being used. Rude staff. I'd leave zero stars but it won't let me. Manager said we made him feel bad because we were waiting at the door for them to open at 11am on a Saturday. It was 10:57 so we didn't want to walk back to our car and didn't mind waiting. Then no one came to wait on us. They took everyone's order around us and when I flagged down someone, they said someone would be with us shortly. We waited a few more minutes and they took even more orders from others so I flagged down that same lady (with her name tag turned around backwards) asked to speak with the manager, Carl but she said he was on the phone so I'd have to wait. I asked if I could give her my number to have him call me instead of waiting on him. He did not call. Glad we left and went to Roadhouse, it was soooooo good! read more
