It's 7:30 on a Monday and the doors are locked all the chairs are up on the tables an employee is cleaning. The door says open until 9pm just like the website confirms. Drove over looking for dinner. Love the new Macaroni Bowls! Have tried the Chicken Bacon, Brisket and will have to try the Crispy Buffalo. Love the food and the people of the Sherman location. I have always ordered and picked up my food from Cowboy Chicken. I used to live a mile from the one on Greenville in Dallas and ordered there often, the one in Frisco is quite a drive from McKinney, I've been there once because my chiropractor is in Frisco but it's still a drive from his office. Hint, Hint you need one in McKinney. So this particular time my family all came after my granddaughters cheer leading game in Whiteboro for a sit down family meal. I love that I can completely stick to my carnivore way of life and get plenty to eat without cheating with a salad or steamed veggie to get enough to eat. I got a half chicken and a side of brisket both of which were delicious. Other family members got various sides with their chicken and enjoyed it. The Manager is a Very nice Person. She's Friendly and Very Knowledgeable about the Food. She Also Was Very Kind Enough to Help Me Locate An item Stolen from my Vehicle. She Found My Magnet Sign On Her Dumpster. Messaged me on my Facebook page. I Was So glad to hear that information. It's a Clean Establishment As well. We always enjoy the food and service when we go to Cowboy Chicken. We were so happy to find that they had one here in Sherman.

I may have written a prior review but this time I have to mention that the guy behind the counter needs to go to charm school. He's doesn't smile even though this time he verbally welcomed me while walking in. He just always seems a little grumpy when speaking and missed 2 parts to my order. The lovely cashier took care of me. The bread roll was from the night before. This sides and chicken are ok but not moist as it should be. Worst Burger King Employees ever. I show them my app with my offer on them and they say they don't accept it... they tell me I need to show them before it and I say how? Through the drive through? They say sorry can't accept it now... Nobody should come here and go eat elsewhere.. I spent like $20 here but will not be coming back here again... Also like other fast food places, other fast food places ask if we gonna use the app, this shithole didn't and won't accept it either at window... One of my all-time favorite places. I mean wood fire rotisserie chicken with sides that your mommy would make. No place is perfect, but give me some real chicken, a side of cream spinach, a roll and watermelon sweet tea and slap me silly. There are many other options, but that is all I need. Tacos, etc, but again if you have real chicken why would you need a taco. I've been to many around the Texas metroplex. As you can imagine the operation of a store is only as good as the local owner/management. No one is perfect, but this place beats any chicken place around for price, taste and quality. read more

We went to the Cowboy Chicken location in Sherman this evening for a quick and easy dinner- let's just say it did not disappoint! Their restaurant was very clean and casual. The staff were very friendly and helpful by answering our questions we had about their menu items. My mom and I both chose the "Kickin' Cobb" salad. It may look small at first glance, but the salad was filled with fresh toppings and it satisfied our hunger for the night! Can't wait to try more of their menu items soon! read more

Very disappointed wanted to stop in and try some chicken while visiting Sherman as the restaurant states it has patio tables for dogs to join with their people but when we drove by the concrete under the tables was very wet with water constantly flowing through the area making the area unacceptable to us so instead of stopping in June 2025 we drove on to a competitor for our lunch. Sorry Cowboys Chicken unless the area is improved we won't stop by when traveling in or around Sherman. read more

This place was phenomenal, we were not expecting such delicious and quality food. Nor were we expecting such kind service when we walked in 25 min to close. We tried many of their dishes: buffalo wings, chicken thighs, fries, Mac n cheese, beans, street corn, rolls... it was all good! Prices were great and the gal who helped us was incredibly kind and helpful (she may have been the manager). Our food was also finished in under 5 minutes! If you are looking for fresh rotisserie style chicken this is your place to be. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with the fabulous smell of the wood burning pit. The staff is friendly and helpful if it is your 1st time. On the table was Laredo bowel and the 3 Piece Dark plate. Nice people, Darn good food. Yummy. We go here regularly now and it's always nice and peaceful. The chopped beef on their rolls is awesome. The chicken strips are fantastic. The potato bake is absolutely superb and a huge chocolate chip cookie is $2. My youngest son raves about their barbeque sauce and he is a big bbq fan. My first time to visit. I was surprised that most menu items were above $10 but thatseems to be the going rate anymore. I ordered a chicken sandwich with bacon, avocado and cheese. It came with a side. I ordered the garden salad which was big enough to save for dinner that evening. The salad had a hint of cilantro, as well as the ranch dressing. Really tasty. I ordered 1/2 chicken breast, and it looks like they cut my half chicken breast in half, and the green beans I ordered as my side (b/c they were out of the sweet potatoes that I really wanted!) are way, way too greasy to actually eat. By far, the most dried out chicken I've ever eaten. When you eat the dark meat on the chicken and it's dry, you know that it was extremely overcooked. Rotisserie chicken was so dry, the chicken drumsticks were also so overcooked the chicken had split to the bone being so over fried. Then, to top it off, the Mac and cheese was sour, and the chicken tenders were so dry the chicken didn't even look like chicken it was almost stringy consistency with a terrible batter that was thick. Like a 1/4" of each tender was just coated in a very thick, not tasty batter. Absolutely a waste of money, and I'm shocked this place has decent reviews. This isn't the first state I've tried cowboy chicken, either. These staff members in all locations need to be retrained and maybe stop pre cooking a hundred rotisserie chickens throughout the day when you're not busy because you know damn well they are giving you the oldest one and not the ones fresh off the fire. Super disappointed and just another reason why we hardly ever eat out in denison/sherman. read more

I used to eat here regularly when I worked close by. I'd always get the southwest salad - no chicken. My salads were always fresh. I'm picky about my ranch dressing- but I love theirs! The employees were always friendly! I miss them. I think I'll revisit them in the near future! read more
