We stopped by around noon on a Friday. Plenty of parking for the couple of businesses that share the lot. Nice clean seating area. Immediately got our menus and water. Our usual order when trying a Vietnamese restaurant for the first time is the pho with rare steak, brisket, tripe, and tendon, and an order of rice vermicelli combo with bbq pork and spring rolls. I tasted the pho broth without any condiments and found it to be one of the better ones I have had. It was light yet very flavorful. The and meat portions were impressive-especially the brisket, tendon, and tripe. We really enjoyed it. The vermicelli bowl was a winner. I think this is the first time there was a whole spring roll which was nice. Spring roll was crisp on the outside and lots of filling. We're going to order a side of it on our next visit. The bbq pork also was very flavorful with some grill marks. Price wise it's on par with other Vietnamese restaurants on the island but the care the owners put in their food probably makes this our #1 spot for pho and rice vermicelli bowls. I went and tried the special fried rice, which was made with Vietnamese sausage (similar to lup chong) and shrimp. It had a good flavor and was a good portion. Service was a little odd. They didn't really check on me after delivering the food. I had to flag them down to get a container to take my leftovers home. Check was never brought to the table. Was randomly out on the west side on a Saturday evening after tennis matches and decided to check out Sam Pho, because I'd recently read another review saying that this was the "best pho [he'd] had in his entire life." First off, I have to say that I love the decor of this place, and extra points because the building was so easy to find. Hard to miss a bright pink building :D. There are about 6-8 parking stalls outside the building, but I can imagine traversing this lot could be a bit hellish because the space between the stalls and the building out of the lot is a bit tight. Luckily, there weren't many patrons around the day we went, so parking was not challenging for us. I ordered the oxtail pho and my bf ordered the brisket/meatball pho. Both were delicious and I really liked how they added choy sum to the oxtail pho. Normally the pho don't come with too many different vegetables outside of the usual mint, basil, bean sprouts and green onions. So that was a really nice surprise. The brisket/meatball pho was ok- not the best I've had but definitely not the worst. I did like how both of the broths were not super oily, as common for some other pho broths. 1000/10 BEST pho ever in Wahiawa. Yes, I've tried them all, but something about their broth here & the noodles always taste so fresh. The spring rolls are also the best I've had, not greasy, has taro and pork, so amazing. My other half said his bahn mi bread was the best he has had, bread wasn't hard or too crunchy, it was just right and it was the length of his forearm!! LOL Their bbq mixed plate is also a favorite for us! The meats are great quality and portion is always perfect. We also tried the strawberry smoothie which was fresh berries, so good and refreshing! The workers here are so amazing and always take care of our family, they do have high chairs and they are always so kind. You won't regret it, but you just have to try it for yourself! read more

The last time I was in Wahiawa I noticed that a new Vietnamese restaurant opened and decided to try it. To my surprise the pork hot pot they made was very good, but on the sweeter side and the owner asked if something was wrong with the food? I mentioned that I was comparing the flavor of the original Vietnamese when they came to Hawaii the sauce tasted familiar, but this was a little sweeter. He mentioned that they made this to Hawaii customers taste and yes I can see that and it is very good, but I prefer the original flavor of how it was cooked from Vietnam, and he mentioned next time you come I make that style how we eat! Which I did and it was very good and delicious and reminded me when the Vietnamese came to Hawaii and open up restaurants and shops in Chinatown. My wife loves their Tendon Pho with thick and lots of slices and the broth is flavorful which you know it has been cooking for a while to get that flavor. My brother in law had the tripe and tendon and he enjoyed his Pho. read more

It's awesome that Sam Pho stays open till 9pm. I like to come here with a friend on Thursday nights after work. I have a weakness for seafood crispy noodles, and Sam Pho's one made my taste buds very happy (the gravy was ono!); the noodles were perfect size with the perfect crunch, and the medley of seafood, including the shrimp, was quite generous. Washed it all down with sugarcane juice. Last week Thursday, I wanted something light, so I ordered the summer rolls. They were flavorful, tightly rolled, perfect-sized and filling, accompanied by a creamy, delicious peanut sauce. For drink, I again ordered the sugarcane juice, this time with little ice. The reason why I love this drink here so much is because, growing up, I chewed on fresh sugarcane stalks (best natural candy ever!) and their sugarcane juice tastes EXACTLY like it. It has GOT to be the real deal! If not, that's ok. It still got me reminiscing about a simple but sweet memory of my childhood in Waialua when sugar was still king. Service at Sam Pho has been courteous and friendly every single time--wonderful people! The decor is wonderfully understated, and the place looks very clean overall. Easy to find! Look for the skinny pink building driving into Wahiawa. Friendly service, water and utensils brought right away. Three types of hot sauce! Of course big bottle of sriracha and two other smaller specialties (chili oil mix and garlic chili sauce) inside is clean and new. Air conditioning is just right and there is 2 ceiling fans in the middle to circulate. No noodle sweats! Fits about 48-50 comfortably. Nice padded wood chairs, clean interior, I chose the medium combo beef pho, it was amazing and I love the broth! Tons of tripe, my fave. Included tendon, brisket, meatball, and round steak. So good I ate it all! Hubby got the brisket and round steak only, he don't eat innards. Haha missing out. We also shared a chicken sandwich which pairs great with the soup, dip it in!!! Almost forgot to try the iced tea so had to order one, ooh yummy. Nice and strong with lots of condensed milk. Perfect late lunch for us and no crazy crowds. Get here 1pm ish, come eat! I've eaten my way through a lot of great food while traveling and easily the best pho I've ever had. The food at Sam Pho is next level! The spring rolls were also excellent (pictured), but the pho was so good, once i tasted the first sip of that broth, I dove straight in and completely forgot to take a picture. I love pho and this is my new favorite spot! The staff are so friendly and service is great! The food is delicious and comes out hot and fresh. Everything is well seasoned and made fresh to order, even the drinks! So far I've tried several different items and lobe them all! The chicken wings are one of my favorites. The pho broth is very aromatic without all the heavy oil. The sandwich bread is soft but still has that classic crisp outside. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity you receive. Hands down best tasting broth on the island. We will have to drive to Wahiawa instead of Mauka or Aiea from now on. I ordered the combination which had all cuts of 5 ingredients. Hubs just wanted the two choice pho with brisket and beef ball. He finished it all. The Vietnamese iced coffee was tiny but very rich and satisfying. First sip brought an eye opening smile. Service is fast and friendly. As many people dining in as ordering take out. Parking is on the left of a narrow-ish driveway just like parking by Shige's row. There's a new restaurant in town and I hope it stays put! I walked in with my 4 kids on a weekday summer afternoon. The interior is clean and spacious. We were seated right away. There were lots of items on the menu to choose from, but my kids and I were there for 1 thing: pho. We were not disappointed! Portions were generous enough that 2 bowls were enough to split between my 4 kids (all 10 and under.) All of us thought the broth was flavorful & the food was delicious. I thought I found a new decent place to get Vietnamese food. I really wanted to like this place despite the pho broth lacking flavor and slow service just because they carried one of my favorite spring rolls. It's really difficult to find minced (pounded) pork sausage spring rolls in Hawaii so I was super excited when I discovered Sam pho had it. On my second visit, I got some pork spring roll take out and while I was eating it at home, I realized the minced pork was completely raw in the center. I am 8 months pregnant and food poisoning can be extremely harmful for me and my baby. I'm so disappointed by the lack of quality control. This is a serious health risk and should not be taken lightly. I will not be returning to Sam Pho. read more

I'm a huge foodie and love trying new places, so it's nice to finally have a good spot in Wahiawa without having to drive so far. The restaurant was very clean, the food tasted amazing, and as a server myself, I really appreciated the hospitality and service. Everything was great from start to finish. Was looking for a new Vietnamese restaurant because the ones by where we live aren't that great. EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious!!!! Bun bo hue, brisket pho, bbq chicken, spring rolls, flan, and the fried banana with ice cream. The restaurant itself is clean and the owner is super nice. The service was also great. I wanted to try the taro tapioca but they were sold out...so I'm gonna assume it's good and hopefully they'll have it next time we come back. I am so glad we found this place.
