The other night was my second time here. The first time was for a buddy's bachelor party. I'd never heard of the place before that, as I live an hour away. Location is not what you'd expect - it's tucked away inside a business complex - but it has a very modern and upscale aesthetic. You're immediately greeted by an outdoor fire which you can request to sit by, if you prefer to sit outside. The steak is great! My first visit, I had the 30-day aged filet, blue, and it came out perfect. This time, I opted for the summer steak salad, and the couple next to me talked me into the prawn/lobster bisque. It did not disappoint! Prominent flavor and super smooth. The salad comes with slices of juicy tenderloin and Gorgonzola crumbles. It's not a massive portion, but it's quality. Besides, you're ordering a salad. Isn't the goal to be healthy?! Enough with the food; let's talk about the drinks! They're what brought me back the second time. Their cocktail menu is very extensive and well thought out. I'm a huge gin and tonic fan, and they have an entire page of different takes on the classic cocktail, none of them boring. In this case, I had the Purple Rain, a grapefruit-themed g&t with a purple-hued gin. It may sound gimmicky, but the ingredients used are top notch and the flavor is perfect. They take things up a notch by adding a bitters-infused ice cube, allowing it to slowly release flavor as it melts. Having spent time in the beverage industry, I am a bit of a bar snob. I care about things like originality, consistency, and presentation. They nailed it. On this visit, I decided to sit at the bar and watch the magic happen. Jared and Bradford were manning the bar. Talking with them, you can tell there is a lot of passion there. A ton of thought goes into the drinks, right down to the glassware. Speaking of which, why is there so much hate about serving beer in a wine glass? Even the people next to me seemed irritated about it. Believe it or not, it actually serves a purpose. It allows for a larger head without sacrificing volume, and it allows you to agitate the beer to bring out the aroma. Cut these guys some slack. They really do know what they're doing. In the venue the space is small and the tables are very closely spaced. It is fairly noisy. The price was very high and the steaks were not properly cooked (I ordered rare and what I got was what I would call medium well). I ordered a lobster tail add on and got a tiny piece of lobster about the size of a small prawn. Everything is an add-on ( you don't even get a salad without paying extra. For the price I could have gone to a four star restaurant in Seattle. I won't be going back. read more

In any competitive market they would have been out of business years ago. 2 stars for friendly service. No stars for the quality of the meat. They were out of strip steaks!! The waiter informed me that it was an inferior cut of meat. Rib eye ordered black and blue had no sear at all. When steaks cost $65 and a baked potato is extra you expect much more. I asked for a decanter for the wine I brought from home. They produced a nice one and the waiter upended the bottle over it and actually tapped the punt, I suppose to be sure to pour out all of the sediment. Tonight my family and I were celebrating my son coming home from deployment, and wanting to take him out for a nice dinner before he leaves again. I made reservations on yelp, and then had to contact the restaurant to make an adjustment to how many guests we'd have, which was easy. When we arrived we were seated right away in the original spot I had requested, however being so warm out and the sun still high, I was concerned for some of my family getting too warm. We were sat at another table outside that had a shade umbrella over, and the staff were so accommodating. The food and service was top notch, and well worth the cost. We never felt rushed, and honestly were able to enjoy our dinner and time well spent together. We will definitely come back and would recommend Ricardo's to friends and family in the future. I will say, we did not try the steaks so we can't speak for those meats but if you're getting the seared black cod, mine was not seared, not flavorful, and the side was not for me. We ordered the scallops and lobster bisque for appetizers. The scallops were delicious and perfectly cooked. The lobster bisque was flavorful but had a kick to it which wasn't my favorite. For entree's we ordered the seafood pasta and tomahawk steak. The pasta was meh but the steak was absolutely amazing. I will be back for the steak and scallops. The other two I could live without. The other thing was all the food came out warm - not hot. I enjoy my food steaming when it comes out of the kitchen. Not sure if that's their style or it just took a while to get to us. If you are in the Lacey area, Ricardo's is a must visit! My husband and I went to check out their happy hour, M-F 230-6, and tried their poutine, eighty twenty burger, and beef diablo. All were delicious, but the beef diablo definitely has a little bit of a bite! I paired my meal with their house white wine, which was delicious! We sat at the bar, and Jared took great care of us. Just FYI, even for 4pm on a Wednesday the bar was packed! And it turns out you can also make reservations in the bar area. They seem to have seating for 2-8. The burger does not come with fries but boy does it stand by itself just fine. The poutine was a tad bit salty, and I wish it had more cheese curds. Ok so we went to Ricardo's to splurge on #sexybeef for My husband's Christmas gift. Wow. So good. Service was better after they realized I knew what I was talking about and wasn't just some young broke person orderinf the cheapest menu items. But... I know how I look. I've got a growing-out Mohawk and green hair. ‍ The vegan risotto was to die for, and I would go back to just eat that. The food was excellent (except the mashed potatoes were so salty they were inedible so we let them know and they comped us a dessert) but the meat was what we went for. And it delivered. Unfortunately they no longer have the wagyu beef as advertised on their website which was so disappointing because it is what I personally wanted, but their chateaubriand was like a classy version of Montana beef and the 50-day dry-aged tomahawk ribeye was to die for. 5-stars because the service improved and the steak was delicious. I will return but advise the restaurant not to judge their clients on looks and provide more prompt service when their customers are initially seated. So funny story, or not. The husband asked me to find a restaurant that had steak. It's been a while and he wanted one. I saw Ricardo's Kitchen had great reviews and they were new. We arrived and the place is in a great location. The restaurant was so nice and classy but it was very dark. We were seated and then we started browsing the menu. My eyes were wild cause the prices were just high. I am all for paying high-end prices for a good meal but the husband is more on the cheap end. The steak was between $64-67. He was not up for paying the price. So we actually ended up leaving. Hopefully, we will give them a try in the future. read more

It was hard to find a place where vegetarian me could take my opportunistic carnivore husband a get a good steak without being stuck with a side salad to munch while he ate dinner.
