Wonderful dinner on Thanksgiving. Had the best prime rib I've had in decades. Will be going back

Everything but the crab was good. I got the 30 day filet mignon and added the crab with hollandaise to go on top. First bite tasted bad and so did the second. When I smelled the crab it smelled like it had gone rancid. The waiter got the "chef" not sure if it's who actually cooked it. The "chef" proceeded to gaslight me and say it was fresh crab from today. I've never had fresh crab that smelled so bad in my life. The "chef" then asks if he can just wash the steak off and give the same steak back. I said no so they did cook another one thankfully. That one was good. Fast forward to an hour after the meal my tummy started to become upset. All day to day I've had food poisoning that smells just like the nasty crab coming out both of ends of my body. I'm wondering if they are struggling to provide quality food. You would think with their expensive menu the price would reflect the quality. It did not. The mashed potatoes were nothing special and the seasonal veggies tasted like cheap stirfry. The steak was only saved because of the sauce. It had no salt or seasoning on the steak itself. I had to add salt to give it any flavor. I will say the kid's meal was way better than my 70 dollar meal. read more

Came here for our 10 year Anniversary dinner and 100% disappointed in our service. Host and person taking the reservation knew it was our anniversary, but that word apparently did not make it to our server. Our server greeted us and from the jump, no professional attitude. She asked us for starters and drinks, being it was our first time here, my wife asked what would she recommend. Our server then said, "What are your questions?" She went on to tell us your choices are personal preferences. Okay, for a high-end restaurant, I would have expected my server to suggest dishes, house specials, or SOMETHING! Not coming back here after they ruined a ten-year event! At this point, I don't care if the food is good or not, service bad, business is bad. Attitude reflects leadership! read more

Went for Thanksgiving this year. Martinis were hardly drinkable. Turkey was overdone, dry. Prime rib was about medium, ordered medium rare. Service was exceptional. For over $200.00/tip we expected alot more out of the most (only?) Steakhouse in town. Will most likely not return, as I can cook a perfect steak right at home. read more

This is a restaurant that charges fine dining prices but service falls well below what you would expect from a fine dining establishment. I will say the food is good---quite good, if you like steak (and the dessert assortment is lovely for those who like dessert). But they can't deliver a good service experience. They rush you through the entire meal, with salads and appetizers showing up at your table ten minutes before the waiter has delivered the expensive wine that you ordered. Before you've finished your salad, your entree is showing up. It's disappointing because Olympia/Lacey area is lacking in truly good dining experiences and the menu of Ricardo's could deliver a great experience if they just got the service thing figured out. read more

I can say with 100% confidence that Ricardo's is the best steak/lobster/beef carpaccio I've ever tasted. My partner and I started with the beef carpaccio; the beef literally melted in my mouth, and the texture was unbelievably silky and smooth. The waitress (awesome btw) mentioned that the 50 day aged filet mignon was in a brine for 48 hours -- the care and passion the chefs put into this delicate dish is impossible to replicate. The waitress mentioned that the carpaccio is part of a new menu, and I really hope they keep it on! Next, we shared a 45-day rib eye, and a side of whole lobster tail. Ok, firstly, the rib eye was AMAZING. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked medium. The beef's flavor was so delicate and rich. Secondly, you can tell that the lobster tail was fresh, and seasoned and cooked to perfection like it's steak counterpart. The lobster was soft, and almost had the melt in your mouth feel. Also, the steak had this brussels sprouts side that was so freaking good. Idk how they cooked it, but it had a rich umami flavor. Such a good veggie side to compliment the steak and lobster side. So freakin good. I can appreciate the time Ricardo's take to prepare their beef, and I can feel the care and respect the chefs put in their cooking. After eating steaks in Chicago, D.C., and San Francisco, I just love how Ricardo's offers arguably the best steak in WA State in a low-key and intimate place. read more

Reservations for 7:30 we stayed till close I got the Filet Mignon and my boyfriend got the Tomahawk Ribeye both very delicious also had the Ricardo platter I believe is what it's called our waiter was a very kind gentleman named Rob he was super knowledgeable about the menu and took time to help us decide our wine let me try 2 different kinds also got my boyfriend a complimentary birthday upside down pineapple cake! Horrible experience. Overrated and overpriced brought my girlfriend there for her birthday dinner, the dinner did not come as requested, the order was incorrect. The desert never showed up. I would expect a dining experience for the cost. It was extremely over priced and very disappointing. I would not return for a free meal. read more

Food is not as well as expected. Ordered sushi and it was not good. Far as 45 day aged meat ehh little disappointing. The vegetable that came with the dish was undercooked. I met my two dear friends at Ricardo's the other night for happy hour. I was so impressed with the service and food that I needed to give the waitress, chef, and dessert chef a shout out! We had the lobster bisque, ramen pork shan, filet mignon steak trio, lots of drinks (yummy), and the dessert tray. We shared our food and it was all fantastic! Also, I brought home the rib-eye to my very picky butcher/chef husband. He had the first bite and he said, "perfect"! Too. Die. For. Food!! I mean the food is ridiculously delicious. I had the squash ravioli that is on the winter menu and they were divine. I literally wanted to lick the plate. The slight sweetness of the squash paired with the bacon flavored sauce and the nuttiness of the walnuts works perfectly together. We stopped by for our 1st time and were immediately blown away by the friendliness and welcome feeling the staff gave! While I was distracted by the steaks displayed in the cooler as you walk in, we played it a little safe for our 1st visit. Chicken and lamb were both fantastic. I don't think Ricardo's is going to be able to handle my review. I have never left a restaurant as satisfied as I was last night. My fiancé's 40th birthday is a big deal to me and I wanted to give him the best of everything. Great present, great lovins, and a great meal. And Ricardo's did not disappoint. Not only were we seated instantly, we were greeted by the friendliest of folks. I am so in love with the food and drinks here that we have decided this is a perfect birthday spot to celebrate in the future. Our tomahawks were cooked to perfection, and so was the appetizer. The drinks we're phenomenally paired as we took the advice from Bradford. We knew what we wanted to drink, and he showed us new variations of what we asked for. Bradford, well done! The service was so amazing and the ambiance was perfect. We were there for three hours just talking and having a good time, and not once did we feel rushed to leave and the bill wasn't given immediately after ordering like other restaurants. Wow what a great dinner we had a party of 5 and got seat right away, we ordered the last two 14oz prime rib and started things off with Two different gin and tonics. This is our Go-To special occasion spot. Lunch happy hour, exquisite dinner, fine crafted cocktails, and just the BEST cuts of meat. My wife nearly dies every time she gets the chocolate souffle. I'm more of a carnivore. But the mint chocolate cake, I cannot pass up. Never had a bad bottle of wine. They are VERY good at recommending the perfect bottle for your palette. The cocktails we had were unique and exquisite. If you are there for lunch the burgers are rich in flavor and will raise your culinary joy meter with every. Single. Bite. Now the meat. The first thing you see when you walk in the door is the dry age meat locker. Which is filled with beautiful cuts of everything. My personal preference? If you want a visually shocking slap of meet that rivals the Flintstones steak, the Tomahawk is an impressive cut. Serves 2 if you feel like sharing. However a the Filet Mignon is one of the finest morsels I've ever consumed. So. For quantity that lacks not in flavor, go Tomahawk. But if the perfect dry aged cut is your desire, the Filet Mignon should not be overlooked. Perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, or even a work lunch. It's a must try. read more

Where do I begin. I had this reserved over a month ago dinner at Ricardo's for my husbands 40th Birthday just the two of us. We walked in and were seated. A guy came to pour us water with 1 black glove on (I found that to be just creepy). He then told us your server will be with you when they show up to work!!!. We were completely appalled and should have left right then and their. 20 minutes later our server comes up to us and asks us what we want to order. He never introduced himself as our waiter nor said Happy 40th Birthday to my husband. We ordered the food and it arrived pretty quick it was good, but not anything better then I could have cooked at home. I had the king salmon, and my husband had the rib eye. I was not full but satisfied with the portion. My poor husband walked out hungry! What a flop! We will never go back again! read more

Some days when you are living south of the Sound, or passing through the Olympia are, you may think to yourself, "I really wish I could get a good steak right now". Then you realize where you live and you don't want to battle traffic to Tacoma or Seattle, or visit one of those chain places. Folks, I'm here to tell you that you're in luck. Ricardo's is the hidden gem of Western Washington, and believe me, if I lived in Seattle or Tacoma, I'd drive here just for one of his in house aged and butchered steaks. I've lived in Europe and all over the states, I've dined in a Michelin Star restaurant, but Ricardo's is easily in the top 5 that I've ever had a steak at. Our evening started off with an amazing server suggesting a few wines to accompany our steak tartar. Let me say that this was the freshest and tastiest steak tartar that I've ever had in my life. I could have eaten that for my main course and been happy. After our app, our food came...a 40oz tomahawk ribeye for two. Talk about perfection! When served, I felt like Fred Flinstone, but while eating, I felt like a king or a head of state. One of the best flavored and perfectly cooked pieces of beef I've ever had. Unbelievably amazing experience. Very unexpected- it's in an office building lower floor. This place is fancy with a flair. Our waiter was Ben. The most personable and attentive in recent history. The menu was simple and god bless the chef. We had a party of 4 and ordered a variety. Everything I tasted was fantastic. Ordered a bottle of wine plus cocktails. The drinks were serious business.
