This place was a pleasant surprise. What a gem!! I almost don't want to tell anyone for fear it'll be overrun. Lol In a business complex which can be hit or miss but this was a definite hit. From start to finish the whole experience was amazing. There's a patio when you walk up with beautiful flowers and umbrellas over tables outside and music playing. Inside the decor was really unique and cozy and inviting. I came for lunch and it wasn't packed but there was a good-sized crowd. The staff was very friendly and very prompt. Our food came very quickly which is always nice and it was hot. And the best part... It was amazing. They also have a meat freezer or refrigerator that you can see and it's a walk-in which is really cool. They had a really nice drink selection and bar, even though we didn't drink that lunch. The only bummer was the mis-charged my card for someone else's meal and had to refund and then recharge my card for my meal. No big deal though mistakes happen. Definitely come try this place!! Food was delicious! I wouldn't fully recommend looking at the menu online prior to dinning. They may not have some of the dishes on the in-house menu. We both had medium rare steaks, which we both found delicious. The appetizer was also good and came out before the food. We ordered the main course after we we received the app. The main course came on time, despite the waitress notifying us that it might be late due to large party. Again, food was very well cooked and perfect temperature when it arrived. The dessert was not bad, from own my personal opinion and preferences. It was a German Chocolate Cake. My husband enjoyed it and it's his favorite cake, but I'm not into sweets. Service was okay. Nobody, from the hostess to the waitress was anyone memorable or worth praising. The establishment is bigger than the old Ricardo location. But seating is still slightly tight. Don't sit in the middle seating if you have the option. Again, my preference. Make reservations! All I can say is WOW! If you want a great steak this is the place to go. My wife and I decided to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary here. I made a somewhat last minute reservation and it was accepted. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked through the door. We started with Ricardo's platter as an appetizer. What a spread, three types of cheese, three types of prosciutto, olives, asparagus, and some other tasty vittles. My wife ordered the prime rib with veggies and mashed potatoes. I decided on the Tomahawk steak, rare, with veggies, and mashed potatoes. The food came rather quickly and everything was prepared perfectly. For dessert we had the chocolate "not" souffle. Kimberly was our server, and I have to say, you guys scored big time with having her on your team. She explained the menu items and the drink and dessert menu in detail. She was very patient and attentive. I'm so glad she she made our evening that much better. Overall, our experience was awesome, the food was excellent and the service was second to none. Tender. Tasty. But very salty so be thinking about that. It came with a few small potato's and one carrot and three string beans. My wife had the beat salad. Tastes great! But only had a few small beats. Pros: great service, warm and inviting atmosphere, and delicious food. Cons: pricey, no low budget menu items and small portions. Rob was our server and I will day was probably the best service and attention to detail I've received in a long time. I am born and raised Olympia, but have lived in California for the past 8 years. If you happen to park in the back, it can be hard to find as there weren't any signs that I quickly saw where the restaurant was located - luckily I was with my colleagues. Service: Exactly what you would expect from a steakhouse. Food/Taste: fair warning, I'm not the type of individual that eats at a steak house or knows how to judge what's good or bad. I ordered the special (believe it was the New York strip with coffee powder) which was full of flavor. Tip: I made a reservation on Open Table but they use Yelp to manage their reservation so it may be a bit confusing. Visited this restaurant for the dining experience and sushi seen in various posts on yelp. Found out that sushi is only served on Wednesdays. My visit was on a weekend. While having to find an alternative meal I found almost everything was smothered with or contained some sort of mushroom which I can not have. I found the menu rather limited and with the name of Ricardo's I assumed there was more of a Latin twist to the food but that was not the case. I ordered a drink which arrived wrong and poor tasting and dude to the other issues I found with the menu it was not worth complaining about. My server was great however. I ate here for a friend's 90th birthday dinner and honestly, the food was fantastic. I ended up getting the Lobster/Prawn soup, the Sockeye Salmon special, and then the Wild Berry Crisp 'mini' dessert. First up, the soup. No picture of that because once I took my first bite, I don't think I put my spoon down. It was incredible. Very fine, small lobster and prawn pieces mixed in, most likely due from being blended in the soup but it worked and each bite gave you that distinct lobster taste you crave with a hint of smoked paprika that was added on top which made for a great start to dinner. The fish special that night was a Sockeye Salmon on a bed of fried potatoes with various picked veges on top. Cooked absolutely perfectly. Soft and flakey, just how you want you salmon to be. There was this coconut sauce spread around the plate which I was honestly excited to taste with the salmon/potatoes but I couldn't taste even a tiny hint of the coconut flavor which was definitely the one sub-par moment of my meal. But once again, the salmon was immaculate. Already full from the soup and salmon, but wanting a little treat, I was glad to see they offered mini desserts so I got the Wild Berry Crisp. It was small but those looking to indulge their sweet tooth without going crazy will greatly appreciate the size. Delicious granola with huckleberries and blueberries beneath, served warmed. I loved it! Yes, this place is more expensive that other restaurants but you get what you pay for, and as a first timer at Ricardo's, I had a fantastic experience. Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable about the menu which helped the rest of my group when they were asking questions about the various dinner options. The food was phenomenal. As a salmon lover, I was so excited to see it on the specials menu and it did not disappoint. The only bit of criticism I have was the lack of any real coconut flavor in the coconut sauce but all things considered, it's still a 5/5 in my book and I plan on coming back. read more

Great steakhouses prioritize people over profit. On the most important night of the year, Feb. 14, Ricardo's dropped the ball in a big way. I had made reservations for Valentine's Day weeks in advance. My wife and I had been to Ricardo's a few times before, so we expected that while it'd be busy, the ambiance and the service would be good. We were wrong. We showed up at the restaurant and were promptly escorted past the main dining areas to the overflow room. Instead of dim mood lighting, this room was bathed in purple neon light. Instead of lovely paintings and decorations hanging on the walls, there was a service bay door to the right and a barn door straight ahead. Oh, and a window so you could see where you thought you'd be eating when you made the reservation. Not great. So we sat and waited. And waited. And waited some more. After nearly 10 minutes, the server finally said hello. She asked what she could get us to drink, and when I asked which beers were on tap, she could only remember three of the four. When it came time to take our order, she couldn't figure out how to work the handheld device she was given and simply stood at our table for five minutes while she figured it out. My wife and I simply stared at each other. Now, I have to believe the server was new. But that begs the question as to why you'd throw a new server into the fire on the most important day of the year. Maybe management thought, "Meh, it's just the overflow room." Over the next hour, we witnessed servers scrambling around, bringing the wrong orders to people, temporarily losing a woman's credit card... The entire night was a comedy of errors without actually being funny. The one saving grace was the food. The steaks were amazing, as usual. Had they not been, this would be a one-star review. We have been going to Ricardo's since they were in their old location, and have loved it! We were disappointed when we found out they discontinued chateaubriand. Recently, I discovered they had chateaubriand, and made a reservation for this weekend. We had such an amazing meal, and the waitress was amazing with our small children! We were even able to get the Dijon mustard crust on the chateaubriand, which was so delicious! From the cocktails and appetizers to the dessert, this was by far one of the best meals I've had! Came back here to give it another chance after posting a review recommending a few other places. My waitress was having an off night or just shouldn't be a waitress at a place like this. First off we sat for about 10-11 minutes with no greeting. Some other male waiter noticed we were sitting and came to take drink orders. Not what I expect at a fancy ish place. Female waiter eventually showed up and I asked what "seasonal vegetables" were in the garden salad and she started listing off the seasonal vegetables for entrees instead. I asked again and she told me. Apparently they ended up running out of said vegetables because my salad was full of PICKLED vegetables... broccoli, cauliflower and beans. This coupled with my blue cheese dressing did not taste good and was one of the weirdest salads I've ever had. The acidity of a pickled vegetable with blue cheese doesn't work. I didn't eat most of it. Then I ordered my steak and a baked potato, asked for "only butter and extra butter" she said "that's my kinda guy!" Cool, well I ended up getting a baked potato with bacon bits and extra sour cream, no butter. I attached a pic of said potato. Didn't touch the potato and she never asked why I didn't touch it. Overall the actual steaks here are good, they just seem to always fall short on everything else. I've been here 3 times now and 2-3 things have always been off each visit, it's like they're approaching being a good place but always fall short and after 3 times now over 1.5 years I haven't seen an improvement and I will go elsewhere such as El Gaucho. I expect a bit more for over $200 for 2 people. Having been to el Gaucho 8-10 times I have never had anything close to a poor experience. read more

We placed an order for a starter of 3 U-10 scallops with crispy prosciutto and parsnip purée. They were delightful!! Scallops were cooked amazingly. The only opportunity was the purée was not as hot as I'd like it. For our entrees we ordered the 45 day aged ribeye med-well and the hubby got the steak loaf. My steak was divine!! Mashed potatoes were good and the seasonal veggie was brussel sprouts. Now I love some brussel sprouts and would have devoured these however they were a little underdone. I'm not sure if they were roasted or blanched and then pan seared. Either way I was not able to eat them. However that will not deter me from coming back. We had an office celebration dinner down here a month ago and it overall was pretty pretty good. The restaurant is nice with a patio seating area and then some intimate rooms with low lighting for a private or romantic meal. There is some really beautiful art on the walls and I love the twinkle lights and ambiance. We had a room in the back for everyone and we were there for a late lunch, like around 2pm. Despite not being too busy we did seem to wait quite a bit for service. I asked our server a few questions about gluten free but he never came back to answer so I had to go search for someone up front who could tell me what was safe on the menu for someone with Celiac. After our order was put in though, our service did seem to improve and our food came out in a timely manner. We had some appetizers for the table and I was able to enjoy the sauteed calamari which was good and had a tasty sauce. I had the seafood ricardo which was topped with a lot of delicious and well prepared seafood. The sauce was also quite tasty. Their gluten free pasta was prepared on point and had a good texture. The other members of our party enjoyed some mouthwatering looking steaks that seemed to be cooked to perfection, so I'll definitely probably be going turf over surf next time to see how they tasted! Items are a little on the pricey side, but the quality and quantity of the meal made it all feel worthwhile. We'll definitely be checking this place out again in the future. read more

The drinks were solid. Ordered the crab cake tower appetizer, which was delicious and brought to us insanely fast. We both ordered the 45 day dry aged Ribeye, which was cooked perfectly for both of us. I make really good steak at home, so much so that I'm not a big fan of ordering steak when I go out. This has been the only place I have been to where the steak was definitely worth ordering. The vegetables were seasoned perfectly. The loaded mashers were amazing as well. We also ordered the 2oz crab on the size which was also incredible. The food, service, and how fast we got our orders were all things that make this a place I will definitely come back to. California roll.. amazing.. and a special roll they had today with lobster.. also amazing.. we ordered the happy hour shrimp Diablo.. very good.. only 4 shrimp but it's the happy hour so we get it... came with bread and olive oil... the place is beautiful.. you will see from the pics.. the service is awesome.. food from what we tried amazing.. my only complaint was I'm a Cabernet drinker.. and they only had one choice.. i didn't love it.. but I'm a picky girl.. I didn't hate it either... I got 2 glasses.. i did ask if they had any other cab's ... they didn't.. Peggy...
