We were very disappointed in the Outback quality steaks. We had just been to Ruth Chris a week or so earlier and Ricardo's is closer to Outback than Ruth Chris. The wine selection was good and service was excellent. The food is not worth the money IMO. We won't go back for that reason. read more

We go to a lot of steakhouses up north (El Gaucho, Morton's, Daniels Broiler, The Metropolitan Grill, etc) and this is every bit as good. Great people, great new location and fantastic food. Even better happy hour if a $40+ steak isn't for you (and may not be more that a few times per year)......then again I didn't go to El Gaucho that often too. read more

We ordered carry out after the flu bug ruined a sit down Thanksgiving dinner. The meat was cooked well and the stuffing was amazing. The string beans were unevenly cooked and the mashed potatoes were a little lacking in flavor. It was overpriced for the portions and the quality but maybe it would do better with a steak? read more

This was an amazing surprise. We were visiting from Bellingham and our family shared their favorite restaurant with us. It is without exception the best steak dinner experience I've ever had. We were served two incredible cuts to share that we're perfectly prepared. For an appetizer we had scallops that were at the level of a high end sea food restaurant. I took a few of my new employees here for lunch last week. Our company planned a couple catering events here so we wanted to try out the menu. The hostess and waitress were amazing, friendly and made us feel so welcome. We told our waitress it was our first time in. She shared a bit about the chef and how most of their menu items and bread are made in house. Never once did she make us feel rushed and kept our drink glasses full. I had the clam chowder, caesar salad and bread. It also was served with a sweet herb butter that was exquisite!! My co-workers enjoyed the Jake jr. and the double prime dip which they raved about. The prices were well worth the quality and portions of food we received. The atmosphere was so pleasant and nicely decorated. Parking availability is awesome and can't wait to try the outdoor seating this summer. We will be back to explore other menu options!! I love this place, even if you have to pay damn near $200 for a meal for two. Totally worth it! Staff is nice and professional, the ambiance is wonderful and its in a great new location. Must go for lunch too! So yummy! The steak is PERFECT every time we go! Best not take the kids though, the atmosphere plus the menu is more for adults. Dress nice and enjoy feeling like you own the place when your seated because thats how they treat you. :) As soon as we can save enough money, we will go again, wine and steak selection is worth the trip alone. Just went here last minute for dinner with my boyfriend a few days ago. I have gone to the old location before but this was my first time at the new location. The new location is so unusual but impressive for a restaurant in thurston county. Never would I expect to be eating such a wonderful meal in the middle of industrial commercial building setting. But I remain impressed. The decor is absolutely beautiful and romantic. My waiter asked if this was out first time, and once we replied he stopped what he was doing to give us a tour and show us the lay out and lounge area. Once we were seated he was so friendly and polite. I ordered the prawn & crab bisque, the clams in wine sauce, calamari, and seafood ricardo. I highly recommend the bisque. It is so good I seriously want to bathe in it for the rest of my life. The clams are my second favorite. You don't even have to be a seafood fan (I am tho) to enjoy them! Seriously the sauce is just amazing. The calamari is also very tasty. The seafood Ricardo is very tasty and worth every penny because you seriously get a heaping amount of seafood variety on top of your noodles. Ultimately this restaurant is incredible. It is a little pricey, but worth every penny. You can tell that the food has been absolutely perfected. 10/10 would recommend for dates, business meetings, or just a fun friend get together if you're willing to pay for the quality! read more

Love the new location. It is casual but up scale. My salmon dinner was cooked beautifully, with fresh vegetables that were perfect. An added delight was to find that they offer delicious mini desserts. They are a perfect size....about 4-5 bites. It will now be my go to place for a consistently good meal. read more

The steak wasn't bad but I could used a little more seasoning. I really didn't care for our waiter he would disappear for long periods at a time and just didn't check on us. Yet another amazing visit to Ricardo's, the service was awesome, and Rob once again showed us why we continue to eat here. We couldn't have asked for a better night, with a party of six and three Tomahawks, it was definitely memorable. Rob was spot on with the menus and came by out table about ever 5 min to check on us, we were aware that 3 30oz steaks take time to cook so dont mine the elderly couple who were getting a little hangry, the steak spoke for itself and the service and food will be why we continue to come back. One of these days we will show up for just for cocktails but I'm afraid i'd end up eating another steak haha. PS love the new location, glad you kept the wine bottle ceiling rack. read more

My husband and I went here for our three year wedding anniversary. The service was great but the food was not the best. The steak was good, I will give them that. My sides however were so underwhelming. I got the Filet mignon with potatoes and the seasonal veggie. I ordered one type of potato but received another. They were also incredibly bland with nothing on them. Their seasonal veggie was a large piece of broccoli that was completely raw. It wasn't worth $44 dollars. read more

My husband and I dined at Ricardo's on Saturday to celebrate our anniversary. The ambience was inviting.The lit rack of wine bottles on the ceiling was a great idea we may copy. Our server, Rae, was Friendly and made us feel very comfortable. The Vesper cocktail was refreshing. The food, oh my, was Outstanding! We had the shrimp and beef diablo and 6 fried shrimp for our appetizers. Perfect starters to wet your appetite. We shared the Chateaubriand and it was cooked to medium rare perfection. It was succulent melt in your mouth tender and loaded with flavor! We brought our own Longshadow Feather Cab to accompany the dinner. It was a fabulous evening! We will be back soon for certain! This is a rare gem that you definitely need to put on your list of local restaurants to venture to. read more

Best steak ever! My husband and I both had the filet mignon tonight at Ricardo's and it was delicious. Cut's like butter, tastes like perfection...with a nice glaze drizzled over the top. We went for lunch on a 90 degree day; asked to be out of the sun, but we had to wait so long for service we were completely in the sun before we left. The food was just OK and we had to wait 15 minutes for the check after we asked for it. The restaurant was not busy....probably won't go again. read more

Good steakhouse in a really bizarre office park location in Lacey. Inside seating was smoky and dirty on Father's Day. Outside patio has great potential for summer nights. While our steak, lamb and seafood pasta were good, the service was really disappointing--especially for $45 steaks. Server seemed genuinely bothered that we were there--we asked about sides for the entree and she told us to read the menu; she seemed distracted and angry at her hand-held ordering device (just write it down next time and figure out the gadget on your time); we waited more than an hour for our food; we asked several times for forks and knives; we ordered dessert and waited thirty minutes, only to get the large size (we ordered the mini version). She seemed angry that she had to re-do the bill and she still over-charged us. Serious disconnect between her and the food runners. So disappointing, for a place that had it together before they moved to this strange new space with bored and apathetic servers. Skip it and try El Gaucho in Tacoma. read more

My daughter and I visited Ricardo's tonight. It was recommended to her by a friend, a chef in Olympia, as the best food in town. I'm visiting from Chicago, we both love Italian; so it was our splurge restuarant. We gave it 3 stars, the service was sweet but inept and rushed, the appetizer and dessert were awesome and the entrees were ok. We had the calmari appetizer which was very good, the sauce was so good, but the appetizer came before our drinks, and the entrees appeared before we finished the appetizer. My veal was average, my daughter's pasta was flavorful, but the chicken was dry. Both were a little short on sauce. The trilogy dessert was truly incredible, but the bill was presented before the dessert arrived and our serving person, checked the bill for payment at least three times in five minutes. There were no waiting parties and we both felt really rushed to leave. And, sin of sins, my martini came without olives after I had asked for them. Three requests later, I was told that no one had told the bar tender, that she didn't know I wanted them and it "wasn't her fault". Since at least half the reason I drink martinis is for the olives... this wasn't a good thing. All in all, the $$$ did not equal the quality of the meal and we agreed it's not worth a repeat visit for either of us. read more

A friend and I met in Lacey as a half-way point between Portland and Seattle, for a girls wine tasting day and overnight trip. We had both checked out the place online and thought it looked good. We sat in the bar area and ordered 2 appetizers: a proscuitto , olive and cheese dish, and the beef biablo. Both were very good! The house french bread with olive oil/vinegar dipping sauce was delicious as well. We each had one cocktail - both wonderful. The service was excellent and the ambiance warm. We went to Ricardo's for the Mexican food, and needless to say their burrito is amazing and while its not on the menu just ask and you will be amazed. THIS IS A STEAKHOUSE, THEY DONT ACTUALLY SERVE BURRITOS. (Super glad we stayed.) Our servers name was Rey, and she was by far the best server I have had ever, she made everything in the restaurant come together perfectly, made us feel comfortable while our kids played WWE Smack Down with the table. the food was amazing, perfecto, absolutely great, if I could I would give this restaurant a 10 star review because they deserve it. My family and I went to Ricardo's last night. I hadn't been here for almost six years. It has a much better atmosphere now than it did in my previous visit. It is a converted house which provides a cozy ambience. Wait staff are very knowledgeable on their menu. I must have had the perfect combination of appetizer, entree, and wine. Ordered a 6 oz glass of Fidelitas M100, a cab forward red blend. They have an interesting take on caprese salad. Instead of a layered preparation, the grape tomatoes and mozzarella are on small toothpick-like skewers, nestled in a small scotch glass with balsalmic greens. There were about 6 skewers. Sticking with the skewer theme, I ordered the surf and turf skewer, which combined large cubes of dry aged rib eye steak (prepared to medium rare) with U 15 shrimp with a bernaise sauce. The steak was amazingly tender... not over seasoned. Perfect. Sauteed green beans and a lobster fusilli and cheese were on the side. I commented to my wife that this was as good a meal I've had in a restaurant a long time... and I eat at excellent restaurants frequently. I give four stars but that's because I can't give four and a half stars. read more
