A good place to eat mainstream Latin/Cuban food. Well cooked, nice seasonings, meat portion size tends to be too small. It is not an appetizer, it is the entrée! They use long grained rice instead of medium grain size which is the culturally and cuisine correct type to use. Price is reasonable to moderate! Place is kept clean! read more

Disappointed is an understatement!!!!!! We have been visiting since the old location and like it ( well used to like it) , even do some little things here and there but hey we understand things happen... however today we took the family of 6 and had a terrible experience. We waited hour and a half for the food, we order drinks and looking forward to enjoy the music and the company, it was not that pack, all orders came in but my husband's, we had to ask for it and for everyone surprise the waitress had no clue about my husband's order, the waitress asked my husband what he wants to place the order ... what?.... at this point we don't want to wait another 1 1/2 hr, no explanation, no apologies, not even water offered to our table. We requested water & the waitress even asked how many , hello, we should have had it since the beginning. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the assistance manager and then after more run around the assistant manager came to our table to make the waitress explain that he never put my husband's order & the waitress apologized but laughing .... two of the piña colada's were discounted . They are not consistent, one day good service , next day terrible. You guys lost the entire family as customers and no more referrals. Sorry we will never come back. I was born in Puerto Rico and have enjoyed A very wide variety of Cuban and Puerto Rican foods. This was a very disappointing experience overall. My wife and I and the kids walked into this uncomfortably hot restaurant and we kindly asked them if they'd be willing to turn the AC on. Instead they turned on 2 big squirell fans. But that was not the worst of it. The yellow rice was hard and cold. The stuffed potatoe did not taste authentic. Nothing was great nothing was good...the best thing was only mediocre at best. I have NEVER written a bad review, no matter my experience! But I need to express what happened to me, I'm still in shock, disappointed and to say the least I'm very disgusted by the owner treatment and customer service. I have been a long time customer. I did notice every time I visit them, there was always new employees but nothing that will let me think it was because management was horrible with their employees. Wao I was wrong!!!! Yesterday I called to order food, I always go with their signature rice and bean and chicken, but yesterday I order for the first time a sandwich. The young lady was extremely nice, super friendly. I asked her what types of sandwich they had, and asked her if they had any chicken sandwich because I don't eat read meat, I also mention her a picture I saw on the review, that look very appealing. She tells they they do custom Sandwiches putting everything the customer wanted, she said it was called : "make your own" something in those lines.. I then proceeded to tell her: that I wanted the bread called : " media luna" with chicken, cheese, lettuce and mustard. ------ Remember people I was going by the picture I was seeing in the google reviews----- So, I asked her about small fries that I see on the picture and she said they were included.. I said okay great. I went to pick up my order and also order something to drink, pay for my meal and left her a tip... " Even though I know management splits those tips for every worker, something I know from a previous girl who used to worked there, that she told me they don't get those tips to them instead they share them with everyone like I previously explained." I like the sandwich so much, I call back again to order it, when I called today a young lady picked up the phone and I said: " Hi, I called yesterday and order a chicken sandwich, are you the same girl who took my order? " She said no, but in her voice I noticed something was wrong, she puts me on hold and the manager takes the phone call. I'm a little surprised, but okay.. all I wanted was to order the sandwich. Then she starts to yell and asked what do I wanted, I said well I called yesterday and ordered I sandwich, I will like to order the same sandwich today please. She then very upset screaming tells me the girl from yesterday didn't charge me the correct amount. She then proceeds to take my order very rudely, I was really extremely calm, thinking maybe she is having a bad day, let me not take it personally. I said, I want chicken, lettuce.... trying to tell her my order from the day before. She then, keeps complaining about the fact that the other girl didn't charge me properly that for every ingredient is an extra. In my mind, I was trying to understand the issue, trying to order my sandwich and if anything I asked her: " for next time is this called: " make it your own or I say a chicken sandwich..." I was so confused and her attitude didn't help at all. Then she says the total is$7.99 and I say okay, then she goes back to the fact that the other girl didn't charge me properly and then she says: is actually $8.99 . That's when I said: " you just said 7.99???" She got more upset and said, well because I said 7.99 I will charge you that but that's not the correct amount either. So in my mind, I was like what the heck is going on??? She is clearly upset about the young lady charging me wrong, but there she goes and charge me wrong too??? At that point I didn't know if I should be upset or what!!! ??? I go to puck up the order. When she see me she says: " I knew it was you.... in my mind I was like yeah.. your long time customer... but anyway.. she starts to yell at me In front of the everyone that it was in the place, about how if you go to every restaurant they will charge for every ingredient.... That's when I had it, and told her: " when have a said anything about thattt????? Is not my fault you keep charging me the wrong amount!!!! She was so disrespectful, rude, and said because I hadn't visited her in a while that she didn't need to be nice to me.. OMG The worst customer service! so i am regular customer there at least once a week. Love the food alot. The past couple of times there i had a really bad experience. There can be noone online and you will still wait a good 10 minutes or so. Today i went there with my wife to grab some lunch. We were the only people there at the time we walked in and waited several minutes just for someone to come to the front. The young lady there who took our order had a tremendous terrible attitude. We ordered our food to go gave us more than half the normal size portion amount. Very inconsistent. I then asked for seperate bags for me and my wife she then threw the togo silverware with an attitude and charged us seperate transactions. This breaks my heart ! This restaurant is so delicious. I'm from Miami so we don't often get authentic food that tastes good. The only negative thing I can say is that it's really hot in this building and they keep the back door open so that grosses me out because of flies. Etc.. read more

If you're in a pinch for a delicious takeout dinner, this is a terrific place. They're always busy and that's one of the best signs of good food in the Spring Hill area. The prices and portions are great. The Cuban food is delicious. We especially love their yuca and their pork roast. I stopped in last night for take-out I was urged from a family member "try this place" being skeptical because everyone has different tastes I gave it a whirl and boy was I amazed. Take into effect I consider myself somewhat a Spanish Food connoisseur because I've lived next to A Puerto Rican family for the last 8 years, and they've been so kind enough to share their food and cooking style with me. I ordered a lot, because I wanted to try and see what really made this place so special. The signature "rice & beans" side was incredible, just enough soft moist black beans thoroughly mixed with fluffy rice, the whole side, wasn't dry and wasn't watery, it was perfect all around you could use a spoon or fork, (rice just sticky enough not to fall through fork) with such a pleasant taste black beans weren't overpowering allowing you to really enjoy the great taste of the quality rice. I got 3 meats to try, the shredded chicken made my mouth water through the glass, with a colorful array of peppers easily viewable in the chicken I was not disappointed, the chicken was soft, not dry, not oily and get this... Not soupy.. I have no clue how they did it, but they did, I truly did not expect the shredded chicken to be literally the perfectly cooked chicken breast shredded and seasoned to perfection. It wasn't too spicy, and it wasn't dull, the perfect heat to put on top of their yellow rice. Next I wanted to sample some of the ground beef, right off the bat, I saw some chopped olives and peppers in it with some spices, all I could imagine is how amazing it would be in a fajita or quesadilla, I figured it would be a bit oily, but to my surprise it was not in the least! It was moist not oily and was complemented well by the pepper and spice mixture used, I truly enjoyed it. The last and definitely the best was the beef/potatoes bear with me now, this could take a moment. I looked thru the glass, and it was calling my name, staring at me if you will, not being a fan of stew beef because of its dry nature after being soaked in sauce all day it was a moment of decision making. Do I try this? Skip something else? Can it be that good? I took a shot and I found what I will eat every time I go here till I'm burnt out from it. WOW! In the words of Billy Fucillo uuuuugggeeeee win here!! First off this isn't stew beef, no way, they started with a truly prime cut of beef, "0" fat and when bitten into it literally bursts into your mouth with the saucy flavor. They definitely cook this slow for a long time, would have to say the beef resides in a marinade as well before its stewed, the potatoes were perfect firmness, you could pick them up with a fork without them disappearing in the sauce from being too soft and breaking apart. Definitely better than expected! All in all I will come back, and often I did not eat anything here I Didn't like, you can tell the owner and her team take pride in the food, in the appearance, and in the business, I promise you, you will not be disappointed!! read more

A little gem in Spring hill. It does not look like much, but the food is GREAT. The owners are super friendly and the food is authentic and extremely fresh. Everything that I have eaten here has just been excellent. I continue to work my way through all of the food. They change up the specials every day, so you can always try something new. I can not recommend this place enough! I wish the place was a little bigger so it could handle larger parties. It feels very cramped in the restaurant. I had the pork and yellow rice and beans on Saturday. The pork was delicious and they gave you a lot but the rice and beans was HORRIBLE! It was the yellow rice with beans and it had no flavor at all. It was like eating yellow colored rice. I make better rice at home.
