This place has amazing food. When I moved to Brooksville last fall for the winter, I looked to see if there were any Puerto Rican/Cuban restaurants. To my surprise, I found this place. I decided to give it a try. Boy I was not disappointed. I love the food! It is spiced just right, just like my mother used to make. They have some dishes that are not normally served in Latin restaurants. Dishes that stir up memories of home cooking. They also have the favorites: Pernil (Roast Pork), Bacalao, Rellenos de Papa, Pollo y carne guisada. I have tried many dishes and enjoyed each and every one. Why would anyone cook or go to a fast food place when they can have classic home style "cocina caribe" for less than a burger with fries! And a million times better for you. I wish they had Tostones. But, not a big deal. That's not a deal breaker. My hat off to the cook and management. Well run place, busy but quick paced and very friendly. I've eaten here and taken out. Either way it's a great portion. It's not fancy, but I'd rather have quality than ambience. I rate the food here 10 times better than the famous Columbia restaurant. After passing Rice and Beans a number of times we decided to check in to see what the place was like. To my wife and I we were very surprised! how could we not try this place? The seating is limited, But that don't matter at all. The food and the service was outstanding! While we were there the door was opened by customers consistently. We had our go to sandwich the cubano and a few side items. Really good! Not only was the food excellent and the prices good, but the staff treated us like family! My wife stated " I feel like I am eating with family". So we now have a place just a few minutes from home to go and have dinner with the family! Busy Busy Busy this place is!!! Owner of Rice and Beans wants to let you know if you see reviews with these names Teresa ,Connie , Ann or Chuck is the same person or related these are some of many in which I found with the same review or comment. They have been harassing and bashing me and my business with false accusations and defamation thru social media making up different profiles and using copy and paste on that same review comment of (funky food and live bug) She called the Health Department they visited my establishment and DID NOT FIND ANY LIVE BUGS , INSECTS OR RODENTS. The food is almost always on an open, non-protected steam table. The staff clean food and their hands in the same sink. They advertise false specials, then up-charge you without asking. I don't know why they do this, but maybe it's comprehension. When we tried to get our included side orders, they said they were extra. Yesterday (03/21/19) we ordered the Grilled Snapper, yellow rice, and fried plantains. Absolutely fabulous, so much food we only ate half the fish and a quarter of the rice.
