So I'll start off by saying the food is amazing, but I don't eat pork and I specifically asked them if their yellow rice was cooked with pork and they said no, so I got it with their chicken and some black beans.. needless to say I threw up for 12 hours straight and was 39 weeks pregnant, I had to go to the hospital bc I was so dehydrated I started having contractions and they had to stick me 5 times before they were able to get an IV in to rehydrate me. Idk why I have a reaction like this to pork specifically, but this has happened to me before years ago when I attempted to eat a pork chop after not eating meat for a few months. I now avoid pork for religious reasons, so kind of disappointing they told me there was no pork in their food for that reason alone, not to mention how sick it makes me for whatever reason. My oldest daughter called the place the NEXT day when I came home from the hospital to ask if they had pork in their yellow rice and they said YES, they ALWAYS DO???!!!!!! I was baffled! We have ate almost everything on the menu, the fresh chicharrones are the bomb, my wife can't get past the imperial rice. The empanadas are always fresh, the flan is awesome. And the people are always friendly and will make sure you are happy. You WILL have leftovers and not break the bank. I called and the woman who answered the phone was so sweet. The food was ready immediately and I walked over to pick it up. The portions are huge for the price. This place has such a great name. We are vegetarians so we wanted to give it a try. The people were very friendly. The meat looked amazing and I would recommend for the amazing meat selections for those who have not been enlightened. However, you guessed it, very little vegetarian choices. There are no cooked onions and peppers for vegetarians. Really no vegetables. Only rice and beans, yuca and plantains which were all great! The place also uses tons of styrofoam. We recycle but I am betting most people don't. There is no need for that. Even Chipolte uses paper. Sadly, we won't be going back. read more

I went to this restaurant because it's on my way home and my brother said it was pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it! Their food inspired my husband to cook several Cuban dishes because he liked the flavor profile so much. It is mainly a take it place but there is room to eat there if you choose. The ladies at the restaurant are really helpful and friendly and even know the regulars my name. This was my first visit and I could not even finish my lunch. Wow..in town to do kayaking and looking for somewhere to eat in town and found this gem. I had the ox tail rice and red beans and sweet plantains. Also ordered an order of tostones which took a second as they make those fresh and they were awesome as well. Wife had the pork which was also very tasty.
