Took an extended walk a few weeks ago to check this place out before getting groceries, as it's…read moresupposedly some of the best Thai in South Arlington and had to verify that. Was seated by a delightful young lady, and found the decor and layout to be quite pleasing; modest by elegant. As for the fare, it was indeed quite worth the walk. Ordered a bowl of Tom Yum and the Pad Thai Mun Goong. The Tom Yum was solid and quite flavorful, a flux of tangy lemongrass with the oniony sweetness of steeped scallions, and enoki mushrooms to provide some heartiness. The Pad Thai Mun Goong was a chef specialty pad Thai made with stir fried rice noodle, prawns shrimp tomalley oil (a crucial element for this version), egg and bean sprouts, naturally topped with green onions, peanuts and a lime for squeezing, and this also was quite phenomenal. Savory, sweet, a little tingle of sourness from the citrus in the mid-palate, and the juicy, briny shrimp balancing the dense carbs and rich flavorful sauce. All-in-all, I was well pleased this visit. As this is Padaek's second location, I hope they don't expand too much further/quickly and compromise on quality.

Authentic Thai food! I've been dying for some Tom Kha and was so glad that they had it here. I came…read morefor a late lunch so I was basically the only person in the restaurant besides staff, so everything I ordered came out very quickly. I wasn't too hungry when coming in for a late lunch so I didn't get big plates. But I can 100% vouch for everything I ate. The Tom Kha was some of the best I have ever had! A slightly mild soup with chicken and coconut flavors (yummmm). I also ordered the mussels (I did not expect them to come in a broth since the menu says they are steamed) but they were surprisingly spicy and delicious. It came with some housemade chili sauce that was even spicier! There were like 7 mussels. Even though it was so spicy, the flavors were delicious so I bared through the spicy sauce. I ordered jasmine tea and it came as a packet of the jasmine tea with hot water. I would've loved it to be brewed loose leaf but that's ok. Overall, this place was delicious, and it was so cute! The decor inside doesn't give "Thai" but it's absolutely gorgeous and relaxing. There is a lot of seating as well and a whole parking lot.

The whole vibe and setting of the place is welcoming, casual and chill with a really cool interior. I've been here three times now and I can say all the dishes I've tried have been consistently flavorful, seasoned, spiced right and delicious!! My favorites so far are the Grilled Squid, Drunken Noodles, Panang Curry, and Pad See Ew noodle dishes. They even have enticing Thai desserts like Mango with Pandan sticky rice and Coconut Custard with sweet sticky rice which I haven't tried but it next on my list to partake and try. In all, you can't go wrong with this place! The customer service is great, the vibe is chill, relaxing, and most of all the food is delicious!! I highly recommend.

The duck roll was on point - thin and crispy roti with a very good amount of duck inside, and so flavorful. The Pad-si-ew was also delicious with good amount of veggies and protein. Noodles were just right. Finished off with the crème brulee with ginger and omg it was the perfect dessert to finish off our meal. I will def be coming back to try more of their entrees and desserts! Service was decent and I like the colorful decor inside - nice and bright and welcoming.

However, that was the only fast service we got. We waited for 10-15 minutes and still no waiter came. I asked someone if he could get us water and he said our waiter will be right with us. When our waiter finally came, he did not apologize for the wait. All through the night, food was very slow in coming out. Entrees probably took 30 minutes to come out. The food was honestly not very good. The pad Thai was too sweet. However, I did appreciate that they put the large shrimp in the pad Thai. Their lychee dumplings sounded interesting but it was such a miss. The combination of sweet/tart lychee did not go well with savory meat. Their fish was just okay. It did not take on the flavor of the sauce at all. Ambiance was fine. It is a modern looking place with clean bathrooms
