Highlights The location offers a range of dim sum standards (har gow, siu mai, sticky rice, etc.) that you can order on demand. Around Autumn festival time, there are also mooncakes and other traditional pastries, with lotus, black bean, red bean, taro, egg custard, and other fillings. There is also a long specialty menu of sweet and savory "buns," including steamed and baked char siu bao, coconut pineapple, red bean, and chicken. I don't think I've ever seen so many options in one place, amazing! Turnaround time is pretty fast as well. Lowlights The dim sum prices are "boutique," and by that, I mean much more expensive than dim sum restaurants I've been to. Dim sum doesn't have that many offerings around here, and so you pay for the convenience. The buns are more reasonably priced, but the fillings are on the low side, and some aren't quite as fresh or tasty as I'm used to. The Wok is one of those places, and Sichuan/Chongqing food is one of those things that I'm jealous of people who get to experience it for the first time. Here's how to have an epic time at The Wok: Step 1. Get 4 to 8 people total that aren't afraid to try something a little different and maybe slightly spicy (seriously though it's not actually that spicy). If you need help with this step message me, I'd share a meal with some random people if it's at The Wok. Step 2. Flip to the back page of the menu, and order a few things that sound good to the group. Don't waste your time with the American Chinese menu (even though what I've had off of that menu is actually really good too). Make sure to get a decent mix of stuff like appetizers, veggies, noodle, soup, and meat dishes. Also don't be afraid to order multiple times. This gives you more time with the menu, and you can judge what sounds good in the moment. Step 3. Share the food family style with everyone until you are all full. I think at this point I've eaten everything on the Sichuan menu, and can say that if it sounds good to you, it is! Some of my favorite dishes are: Wontons in Chili oil, Bone in chicken wings, Spicy boiled fish fillet, Beef noodle soup, Green beans, Salt and Pepper tofu, Dan dan noodles, and Mapo Tofu.
