Ripoff Alert!!! 4 tiny pieces of chicken.. how dare you? Is this a kids meal??? I just order through Ubereats and paid $22 for this?!? Thank goodness I paid like $2 for the mini avocado slices. They also charged me for extra sauce but only gave me 1 small container. I've never felt more violated! If you're hungry.. don't order from here. Don't ever come to this place. I am normally a big fan of the rice franchise, but as of late, they have not performed up to standard. They no longer have the fountain drinks, nor do they give good customer service. Don't waste your time or your money. It took more than 30 minutes to create a Mediterranean chicken plate. Seems Noone cares yo clean tables once patrons leave. Not a single person was inside yet I had yo closely look for a table that didn't have rice or a sauce on it. I am giving it 3 stars because the food was on point. Please tell your staff to get it together. One of the girls was cleaning, moving and making so much noise slamming things, she then decided to spray aerosol all over the restaurant. The smell made me gag, my food then tasted like the aerosol and I completely lost my appetite. I had to throw my food away, the only thing I kept was the baklava because it was closed packaging. It was such an unpleasant experience, especially wanting to dine in and chill because we were on the go and I didn't want to eat in the car I should've ate in the car, try another location. I stopped for lunch at Rice House of Kabob a few weeks ago while running errands near Aventura. My boyfriend had been here several times before and promised I'd like it. He wasn't wrong! Rice is a Persian restaurant and their menu consists of a fusion of Middle Eastern foods. I had a joojey wrap with chunks of boneless chicken breast marinated and charbroiled, and also ordered a small portion of their house-made hummus and fell in love with both. The hummus was fresh, flavorful and clearly made in house. The chicken in the joojey wrap was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My boyfriend had the chenheh wrap which contains chunks of tenderloin charbroiled & marinated in their special seasoning. It was spectacular! Their wraps are also served with special sauce that's got a particularly delightful flavor to it, unfortunately I don't remember what it's called. All in all, I couldn't believe how fresh the ingredients were!. I only wish we had a location in Downtown Miami so I'd have a healthy option for lunch. read more

Have a Rice Day! - is the slogan that never seems to get old to me as I always enjoy a good meal at Rice House of Kabob! The first time I tried Rice House I was hooked, and when I found out our new home in North Miami was almost walking distance to a location, I was all smiles. The dining area is clean and well kept, the food tastes great, and the service is prompt and friendly. What more could I ask for. I typically go for a falafel wrap ever since my fixation on Middle-Eastern and Mediterranean food has grown, but they also have wonderful chicken and veggie entrees and smaller plates. For you carnivorous red meat-eating folks, I see lots of great options as well. Pricing is very reasonable for all menu items, especially my go to falafel wrap! This location in mention really stands out for me as the layout is just nice and inside a strip mall where one would think space might be limited, is very well put together and easy to access. A huge mention also must go to the Baklava which of course is so good at all Rice House of Kabob spots! I've seen this place all around Miami but for some reason I thought it was Asian food. Today I decided to try it, but when I went in I was surprised to see the Menu. Too bad I've been missing this because I Love Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food! I started with a chicken, rice, & salad platter. The chicken was so fresh, and the rice was perfect! There is a reason this place is called rice. Nothing was too salty! By the way, I only like the Mediterranean/Middle Eastern pastries made with pistachios, and they had them! The best! My new lunch go to! A little update! The Sumac sauce is fantastic! But the salad dressing is basically just oil. Also, neither the website, nor the app seems to work properly! A little feedback is that I wish they gave a little more chicken because the rice portion outweighs the chicken , (I usually just order an extra chicken )and the fish is a little salty but the rice and salad balances it out. This place is a good option when I'm near work; it's fast food Persian, but it's decent compared to a lot of the options I've tasted. The hummus is okay, but I've had way better (and way fresher) elsewhere. The falafel are pretty good, and the salad is difficult to mess up. As usual, expect Miami prices for stuff that's okay but not great. My biggest mistake was when I ordered a yogurt soda and ignored the warning that it was "a little salty". It wasn't just "a little salty"; it was like they mixed a full cup of salt into a fermented milk soda. I tried bravely to finish it, but couldn't get past 1/5 of the way before my ability to handle more salt completely unraveled. read more

Esi Shabani is a triathlete, fervent Miami resident and one of four brothers who started Rice House of Kabob in 2004. With locations in Brickell, Miami Beach, North Miami, Kendall, Doral, and South Miami, Rice is on the cusp of some very exciting changes! For this particular dinner, we were also focused on finding a truly vegetarian friendly restaurant where we could take our dear friends. Kabobji was a wonderful choice for vegetarians, omnivores, and carnivores alike. It's a large restaurant with plenty of booths and large tables for gathering with friends and family. Someone I suspect to be an owner was working hard alongside his wait staff and displayed a sense of genuine hospitality. Above all, the restaurant has a rock solid kitchen. The falafel ($13.99 / 5 pieces) here were ****STELLAR****!!! They're shaped like Indian medu vada (fried with a hole in the middle), probably for the same reason: to allow as much of the surface to fry to that perfect golden crisp as possible. And Kabobji's falafel were, in fact, awesomely crisp and well textured, made from soaked chickpeas in the traditional style, perfectly sized, nuanced and subtle in flavor -- some of the best we can remember having. (For reference, we love Nish Nush and Tanoreen for falafel in NYC -- and I think our neighborhood must be one of the major international epicenters for falafel.) Also excellent: the baba ghannouj ($10.99 for the small size), just a bit chunky, enriched with a lot of tahini, a moderate amount of garlic, a touch of lemon. This is how we like to make it at home. The vegetable ghallaba platter ($20.99) was simply made with thinly sliced onions and bell peppers, a small amount of zucchini, I think, and a touch of tomato. I would've loved to have had a spritz of lemon or sprinkle of sumac for a more acidic component, perhaps a little less onion. Note that this dish works better as a main course when accompanied by something protein-y like hummus, but it was pleasant to eat alongside our other orders. A convive, who went with the mixed shawarma platter ($27.99), found it to be a generous portion size and enjoyed it, especially with a side of well composed fattoush salad (+$5.99 to upgrade). Beef shish kebab ($14.99) and lamb shawarma ($15.99) wraps were both excellent and moist, a good balance of protein and vegetable. I didn't try them, but the "cheese pies" ($12.99) turned out to be pitas covered with a large amount of melty white cheese that some young children might enjoy as pizza. (Mine probably would've found them to be "too cheesy," but they're mutants.) They came three to an order. When you dine in, they bring a big basket of warm pita / pida to the table -- quite a generous touch!! I think it's house made and of course went beautifully with our food. Bottom line: GREAT FALAFEL! Great, low-key, family-friendly vibe. Good for vegetarians and non-vegs. Go.

The deserts came out topped with a little bit of pistachio and they were also one of the best deserts I've ever had. They should be served together on the menu because our server was right they went perfectly together. The ice cream was special in of itself, I've never had ice cream made from goat milk, but it was so good, you have to try it as well. It had a thicker, more stretchy texture to it, than regular ice cream and wasn't as sweet which I loved and it was just absolutely amazing. We didn't even know it was made from goat milk till after we tried it, I'm so happy we did. The Kunefe was really good as well, it arrived warm, and the crispy shredded phyllo dough was coated in sweet syrup and went perfectly with the ice cream. Perfectly balancing each other. Highly recommend. Overall, I was really impressed with the food at Sumak Restaurant and I look forward to returning another day soon!

The worst - I miss the old Rice with quality workers We've been loyal customers of Rice Mediterranean since 2014, always appreciating the friendly service and quality food at their previous location. Sadly, our recent experience at the North Miami location was incredibly disappointing. The gentleman handling both the register and our order was rude, rushing us through as if we were an inconvenience. At first, we chalked it up to his personality, but that quickly changed when a white male customer entered; suddenly, his tone and demeanor softened, and he even managed a smile. The contrast was glaring, and it felt disrespectful. To make matters worse, the tables were dirty, my bowl came with blackened avocado, and my sister's wrap was practically falling apart. For the premium prices we're paying, this level of service and quality is unacceptable. It's disappointing to see how much the standards have slipped at this new location. We hope the management takes these issues seriously and restores the quality and hospitality that once made this place worth returning to. read more

I've been eating at this place since it opened. Today, I decided to order and have the food delivered to my place approximately 10 minutes away. I gave my order and was told 45min-1hr which sounds reasonable. 90 minutes later I called and the lady told me she will contact the driver who apparently doesn't just deliver exclusively for them to find out what happened to my order. She returned my call telling me he had to drop off another order before mine and he's 10 minute away. This was 20 minutes ago. If you can't get the delivery process right, DON'T PROVIDE THIS SERVICE!!! This is what happens when you hire people who don't care to manage your business. It goes down the drain... I predict it will take a bit longer because the food is decent. I am furious waiting for the delivery to arrive. Whoever is running the logistics behind the scenes should be fired immediately. Made my first visit to Rice House of Kabob this week. I was impressed! Ordered the "Lunch Box" with tenderloin, which comes with freshly cooked chunks of beef tenderloin (five or six pieces), basmati rice, a small piece of pita, a small scoop of hummus, and a green salad with a delicious, house-made dressing. The tenderloin was outstanding, with a nice grill char on the outside and meltingly tender on the inside. They have a nice selection of baklava for dessert, yum! The counter service was super friendly and speedy. You do have to wait a couple of minutes for your order, but that's because it's freshly prepared. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but it's perfectly pleasant and clean. The bathroom was clean, which always says a lot, in my opinion. Rice Mediterranean recently relocated, and the new space is a big improvement--it's clean, contemporary, and overall more inviting. Along with the refreshed design, they've updated the menu concept too. You can still order the classic platters and salads from the kitchen, but they've added a new feature that lets you build your own bowl or wrap, similar to how Chipotle does it. You get to choose your base, protein, and toppings, making it quick and easy to get exactly what you want. The prices are very fair and competitive, especially considering the excellent quality of the food and service. If you're a fan of Mediterranean cuisine, you'll definitely enjoy what they have to offer. Plus, it's a great alternative to less healthy fast-food options.
