I have been buying food from Pierre's for a while now. The food used to be really delicious and sometimes it's so bad I can't even eat it. When i have have a bad experience, i stop going there for a while...hoping that when i go back they get it together. This was one of the really bad occasions. The food tasted old. The goat was super tough and the pickliz, which use to be tasty....tasted salty and disgusting. Pierre's needs to STOP SERVING PEOPLE OLD FOOD!!! The prices are too expensive for that. I came in expecting a normal dining experience, but instead I waited over 35 minutes to get my food--and the restaurant wasn't even crowded--no updates, no apology, nothing. Every time I asked about my order, I was told it would be "just a few more minutes," which clearly wasn't true. By the time my meal finally arrived, I had completely lost my appetite and asked for my money back. For the price and the hype, I expected at least decent service. This lil carribean jem is a diamond in this lil Haitian neighborhood. My friend Jessica and I went on a Friday night and had the oxtails rice and peas and let's not forget the griot, my first time having it and I will be looking forward to my second encounter, with this yummy pork shoulder. When I order fried fish, I expect the skin to be crisp. The skin on this fish was so soggy and it wasn't due to the carry out platter it was placed in for the delivery. The fish didn't taste fresh at all!!!!! I know fresh fish!!! It tasted like it was about to spoil. It was just nasty!!!! The fish was also not well seasoned. If I'm going to pay $30 some dollars for a meal, I want to enjoy it. That snapper just didn't hit the spot for me. My partner ordered a goat stew. The sauce was overly salty. If you suffer from high blood pressure watch out! In addition, the amount of meat given was so small. The stew was also overly oily. The delivery service was fast. That's the one positive thing I can give them. However, that may be due to them not giving freshly cooked food. I'm Haitian and a home cook. I was highly disappointed. These Haitian restaurants ask more money for their plates than other common places. 7 out of 10 times they don't hit the mark. We spent over $50 on these meals and felt that the money was wasted!!!! My total was about $43 through Door Dash. I must've gotten the bottom of the pot. I got 1 piece of meat and the rest was ALL bones. I called the restaurant and spoke to management who offered me 10% off my future order. The cost for the conch in sauce is $24,75. This was absolutely too much for the amount of conch you gave me. I kmow conch is expensive but this was ridiculous. The red beans and rice was great and so was my side order of griot. ALSO, the flavor of the comch was not authentic. I've catered food from here before and it was great. I will definitely not ever order the conch in sauce again. I ordered my food via Uber Eats and was alerted my food was ready ay 7:53pm. It's was not ready when I arrived at 8:00 pm. We decided to try them while we were quarantining and of course since we lost our sense of smell and taste we decided to eat something spicy. We had the food delivered. The food was very hot and fresh and the black rice was very spicy! I felt the spice although I had no sense of taste. We also had girot, rice & red beans & chicken in brown sauce. Everytime I ordered on Uber Eats from this place my order is always messed up. I was missing a whole 25 dollar Snapper dinner and I was not reimbursed for it through uber. I got the plantain cups with chicken and they were AMAZING so flavorful and priced so low! The appetizer came with an amazing spicy cabbage and a hot sauce it was so delicious! To drink I got a Piña Colada and the presentation was so pretty and the flavor was excellent. For my main course I ordered the shrimp in sauce and again, it was delicious and came with two sides of my choosing. The server who also was the cook and maybe the manager? was so nice and attentive. People have been telling me to come here for a long time and I finally went. They didn't answer the phone so I just ordered online. I got the fried goat with a side of macaroni and cheese. I went to go pick it up and the restaurant space is rather tiny but they have a lounge next to it where it appears they host parties. They also offer outdoor seating. Although I ordered my food Togo i decided to eat it there. By the looks of the food it was promising. The only thing is that it was very oily. The black rice was phenomenal and the fried goat pieces were crispy and crunchy on the outside but moist and juicy on the inside. Extremely tender. You could tell that they made the plantains fresh because my plate was steaming when I opened the lid. Pikliz was spicy and sweet. The portion size of was rather small but other than that the food was great. They are definitely one of the best Haitian restaurants in Miami. read more

Today (7/30/23), after church I made my second visit to this restaurant. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt after my first bad experience. Nothing has changed. The pressed plantains were uncooked inside, the rice, sauce, and fried pork had TOO MUCH SALT, for my liking. My plate had more pork fat than meat, and they covered it with raw white onions as garnish. Maybe to hide the pork fat. As someone who lives within walking distance, I've supported Pierres since they first opened. At first it was a great but it has consistently gone downhill in both service and food quality. My last 3 recent orders were blatant disrespect. One order with burnt rice and more fat than actual meat (griot), 2nd order same thing but with their employees supporting another customer making racist Asian jokes on top of being shorted on the amount of food. Most recent order through Uber eats, included cold food and a small amount log meat and more fat and bones than actual meat (griot).
