We ordered our usual...the Spicy Fish Filet in a Flaming Pan to share. We also ordered the Chicken Kung Pao and the Wonton to share. Again, everything was delish. As usual, their Spicy Fish Filet is a gem. Not only do I love the crispy Spicy Fish Filets, but love the exotic veggies in this dish. However, we were both a bit disappointed with the presentation of their Kung Pao Chicken. For starters, I would have appreciated some greens in that dish...as pictured on their menu. One of my favorite Chinese restaurants. I've probably had more take out here than any other place. My absolute favorite is the Eggplant with tofu in clay pot. I crave this dish so often that it's becoming a problem. Spicy stir-fried wok on flaming pan has several veggies along with crispy fish. This is also another go to item-- tastes better if you eat this at the restaurant. Ambiance is clean and surprisingly large area. Service is average, nothing to write home about. Just wanted to share how delicious the food was in case you haven't been in awhile!!! Overall it was so good!! The portions are huge (hence the pricing). Each entree could've fed at least 2 people. Buttt i love trying a bunch of dishes so we ordered a lot hehe. Overall: 4.8/5 Food: 4.8/5 - We got the orange chicken with fried rice. The orange chicken was perfectly crispy and the fried rice was bomb with perfect umami flavor. We also got the dry sauteed green beans and mao's braised pork belly. The green beans were very similar to din tai fung's if you've had them before. Sauteed with garlic and it was prob my fav dish. The pork belly was also soooo good. On the fattier side but it melted in your mouth... it came with white rice and also clear thin noodles in the dish too. Service: 4.8/5 - super nice servers that will help you figure out what you want to eat. There may be a slight language barrier (broken english), you will still be able to understand everyone. I hold immigrant service folk close to my heart, they're just trying their best and trying to make a living for their families! Such sweet people. We have been going to this place for years and so happy to have this gem (only one of its kind left in Charlotte) that serves authentic Chinese. Too much spice in the rest of the dish. I thought the Lotus root was some a specially cut pineapple/radish/bamboo. I later caught it in G-mart and educated myself. There also was an unknown type of veggie in there which may have been a cabbage stalk. Spring rolls met expectations but nothing special. Good quality chopsticks. Service was fine. I went to this place for lunch on the road trip passing Charlotte. Because of the traffic jam, I arrived a few minutes before their lunch break at 3:00. The whole restaurant staff were all eating and resting. But I was able to order takeout, yet ate at the restaurant after telling the owner I'm on a road trip. The owner was very accommodating and make me feel relaxed from the anxiety of the traffic. He continued to check on me though it's their downtime. It's a wonderful restaurant. Great environment and the people are really nice. I will come again if I'm in the area. But hopefully I won't arrive at an inopportune time because of the traffic. read more

For the last few weeks, I have been craving szechuan food. I always try to find szechuan food when I am traveling (Houston, Vegas, Italy, Spain etc. but did not think we had a local spot here in Charlotte. A few weeks ago I saw a post about Riceblossom in the CLT Asian Eats facebook group and immediately knew I needed to check it out. I finally had the opportunity to check it out tonight, and the team at riceblossom did not disappoint. We enjoyed every dish we ordered and will definitely be back to try other items on their menu. I enjoy food with a spice kick but I don't have a high tolerance (you won't find me biting on any raw Asian chili) and found the dishes that were "spicy" had the perfect spice level for me. It was just enough that my tongue hadn't gone numb, and I wasn't having the spice sweats. Most places I have had szechuan food, while absolutely delicious, had been borderline too spicy for my preference. If you have a higher or lower tolerance, I am 100% sure the chef is happy to accommodate. If you love authentic Chinese and/or looking to expand your Asian pallette, definitely check them out! It took awhile for our order to be taken, but after 45 minutes, our meals did not arrive and we left. No one came to our table to explain the wait. If you are just looked ng for cheap fast Americanized food....got find The Panda....great sit down atmosphere which reminded me of my childhood. Sharing entrees and enjoying authentic ambience. You can expect to pay a little more here, but the food is top quality. You get what you pay for! They also have a wonderful Sushi menu, my Sushi-head son, said it rivaled what he gets in NYC. We dined here as a party of 5 on a fairly busy Friday evening but were seated after a 45 minute wait. At first glace, the atmosphere is quite interesting compared to most Asian restaurants with the addition of a "tree" in the center of the restaurant. However, it's hard to hear the people you are dining with and the tables are set very close together so you may end up getting involved in other people's conversations. The first server we had only took our drink orders and was very speedy. The second server we had seemed very distracted and was very slow. Also she didn't seem to understand English very well as one of our items never arrived, another of our ordered items was incorrect, and she forgot to enter one of our items until we asked her about it so it arrived at an inappropriate time. I will say that the item that never arrived might have been due to that fact that the food comes out as it's ready even if you order in waves. The food, itself, tasted quite authentic. The Schezwan spice level is not for the faint of heart so make sure you communicate your spice tolerance to your server when ordering. The seafood soup was typical but tasty. The clay pot eggplant with tofu was delicious and I highly recommend giving this dish a try. The dumplings were pretty well made. Overall, the food was good. If you are unsure of what to order, the suggested family meals in the back of the menu are a great way to try a little bit of everything. I would recommend giving this restaurant a try especially if you like authentic Schezwan food but you probably want to go at a less busy time for better service and ambiance. read more

My favorite Asian food restaurant in the area! I come here multiple times a month and the food is always so fresh and tasty. Service is great and the dishes come out fast. The green beans were probably the best of all, sautéed but still has the nice crunch. The sweet and sour spare ribs came with diced fried potatoes, a little odd and the ribs were over fried. They were too hard to bit into. I do not recommend this restaurant but it seems there isn't many Szechuan options in the area... Located in a local shopping plaza, so plenty of parking. This was our 2nd time here and I must say our first time was a very great experience, this time around it's the same. From both visits, here are our must haves: Cucumber Salad (compliments every dish well) Dumplings Wonton in Chili Oil Fried Chicken with dried chili peppers Beef Chow fun (simple but flavorful) Our 2nd visit for dinner, we wanted to top off with their fried fish Szechuan style and added fried tofu, Napa cabbage, vermicelli, and bamboo--it did not disappoint. The crispness of the fish was so good, and then you just dip into the spicy soup for more Szechuan flavors. This is one of my favorite Szechuan places in Charlotte compared to Lee Cafe & Sun's Kitchen. One of the biggest take away is that they care to cook everything to perfection.
