Authentic Chinese restaurant specializing in Szechuan cuisine. It is absolutely one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Charlotte area. Keep in mind that most Chinese restaurants do NOT serve authentic Chinese food. The service has been great every time I have been. They have a really nice ambiance with a blossoming tree in the middle of the dining room.

I had a great dinner at Rice Blossom yesterday (formerly Taste of Shu) in Quail Corners Shopping Center off of Park Rd. Just wanted to share how delicious the food was in case you haven't been in awhile!!! Overall it was so good!! The portions are huge (hence the pricing). Each entree could've fed at least 2 people. Buttt i love trying a bunch of dishes so we ordered a lot hehe. Overall: 4.8/5 Food: 4.8/5 - We got the orange chicken with fried rice. The orange chicken was perfectly crispy and the fried rice was bomb with perfect umami flavor. We also got the dry sauteed green beans and mao's braised pork belly. The green beans were very similar to din tai fung's if you've had them before. Sauteed with garlic and it was prob my fav dish. The pork belly was also soooo good. On the fattier side but it melted in your mouth... it came with white rice and also clear thin noodles in the dish too. Service: 4.8/5 - super nice servers that will help you figure out what you want to eat. There may be a slight language barrier (broken english), you will still be able to understand everyone. I hold immigrant service folk close to my heart, they're just trying their best and trying to make a living for their families! Such sweet people. Vibe: 4.5/5 - nicer than a hole in the wall chinese place. Very clean and modern. Nothing super special but great place to grab a bite or to take your family here. Other: As of july 2023, there was no wait for a table and you should be fine walking in. Free surface lot parking. Quail hollow shopping center.

Visited Riceblossom this afternoon and had this entreé. It was okay. The chicken was fully cooked. The spices were a bit unusual for me. The service was good and ambiance was okay.

We have been going to this place for years and so happy to have this gem (only one of its kind left in Charlotte) that serves authentic Chinese. Our absolute favorite here is the shredded pork with bamboo shoots and the three pepper lamb. Kids love the dumplings and the Dan Dan noodles. Service is always friendly and food arrives in a reasonable time. The ambiance inside is very warm and inviting. I absolutely love the cherry blossom tree in the middle of the restaurant. They have a bar with a decent selection of wines and beers.

This place looks so cute with the tree and so I finally tried it. I ordered something different and tried an Authentic fish dish. Pretty presentation. The taste of the fish was excellent. Too much spice in the rest of the dish. I thought the Lotus root was some a specially cut pineapple/radish/bamboo. I later caught it in G-mart and educated myself. There also was an unknown type of veggie in there which may have been a cabbage stalk. Spring rolls met expectations but nothing special. Good quality chopsticks. Service was fine. I picked up my online order 5 mins early. I won't order this again so I'm just leaving my rating at 4 stars until I return to try something else.

Amazing food and great service! Came with one evening and got a table right away. Staff were immediately very accommodating with our dog. We tried a variety of dishes and liked every one. The eggplant was one of my favorite. The atmosphere is also nicely decorated with a darker, more intimate vibe. Overall great spot!

I actually loved the bright, comfy vibe of the place. Thought it could use a bit louder music to fill the space. I ordered the Dan Dan Noodles, Rainbow Dumplings and this Mango Jasmine Tea drink...and they were all pretty good. Still, I was surprised how my bill totaled about 35 bucks. Normally, I'm not too surprised by the pricing (even for lunch), but it felt a bit high...given that everything was served on paper and plastic wares. I did like how they have these DIY take-home plastic wares accessible and ready to go...so some points for that! Overall, it's just a casual eatery...not a full scale restaurant. I prefer full scale service, complete with nicely plated presentations, but this type of DIY eatery is just something that's becoming more common.

It was pushing 97 degrees outside, and after a long afternoon of computer work and errands, I finally stopped in for the crispy scallion chicken and pan-fried dumplings. Huge portions. Fair prices. Friendly people. Consistently solid food every single time. The best part today honestly might have been the air conditioning. They've got a cool, comfortable space to wait while your order is prepared, which felt amazing after baking outside all day. I forgot to take food photos because I was hungry and ready to get home, but trust me, they pack these takeout containers like a game of Jenga. Nothing spills. Nothing shifts. Everything is packed tight and thoughtfully. Only tiny downside: the dumpling sauce goes into the same container as the hot dumplings, so by the time I got home, it had softened the bottom a bit. Still, the dumpling wrappers are thick and crispy enough to survive the trip. Into the air fryer later they go. One warning: the parking lot can be chaotic since it sits right off busy Providence Road. Just be patient. Cars are constantly pulling in, backing out, blocking entrances, and today people were absolutely treating red lights like suggestions. Saw it multiple times, including a bus cutting across traffic when I had the right-of-way. Charlotte drivers... please relax a little. That said, the food made the trip worth it. Taipei Express is one of those dependable local spots that always comes through when you need a solid meal without spending a fortune. Life is too short to not eat well. I've been chasing good, authentic (or nostalgic?) Chinese food, and I finally found some while visiting the area. The space is bright, open, and comfortable. Unfortunately, the actual experience was nothing like the hype. First, parking is a nightmare. I would seriously add an extra 20-30 minutes just to find a spot. Once we finally made it inside, we waited another 30 minutes to be seated. After sitting down, it took close to another 30 minutes before anyone came to take our order, and then roughly another 30 minutes for the food to arrive. So you're potentially looking at well over an hour and a half of waiting and inconvenience before you really get to eat. And the dim sum cart that brought us there in the first place? We never saw one. They did have a dim sum menu that we could order from, but that was not the experience being promoted in the videos we had seen. The food itself was just okay. Nothing was terrible, but nothing justified the hype or the amount of time and hassle involved. If you've had good dim sum in places like New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, this isn't remotely in the same league. Between the parking, the long waits, slow service, missing dim sum cart, and average food, I genuinely don't understand the crowds. Hard pass for us. Once and done.

It is busy enough that plenty of other people had also called in for takeout. The price was higher than I thought it would be by a significant margin; I thought something was off but then rechecking their menu I saw it was indeed $20 for a vegetable entree. On the upside, they did offer brown rice at no extra charge. Still, I'll get three meals out of it and as someone who eats a lot of takeout, this was not a great value. In terms of quality, I was thrilled to find that they offered a stir-fried okra dish. This is a ubiquitous Indian dish, and of course okra is common throughout the tropics globally, but I'd never seen this offered at a Chinese restaurant before. And the rapid cooking technique typical of the cuisine produced a delightfully crisp vegetable, which went great with a black bean sauce and some very hot dried chilis. On the other hand, their interpretation of ma po tofu had some fermented broad beans but minimal vegetables (sometimes you get mushrooms or peas or at least some leeks or something) and no numbing sensation. They had a bean curd roll dish that I enjoyed, and some quality dumplings. Overall, not huge portions and a mix of okay to great quality.
