I am a DIYer on home improvement. Our house was having these crappy 50+ years aluminum windows and patio doors. I decided to replace all of them on my own. For these retrofit you can only order customized. I spent a while visited HomeDepot, Lowes,... then this Rich shop. The time paid off. Rich's quality is no different from these big brand names but cost is about 1/3 to 1/2. I spent many weekends (should be months :D as I did it slow) on removing old and installing new. Sometimes whole family work together as some big windows and patio doors are heavy. Patio doors are harder to deal with and I spent more time than windows. Now all of them are done. I saved huge on labor. Rich's sizing is very precise and their products are very similar to these at HD or Lowes. You try it and you will know. Staffs at Rich are nice and easy to talk with. Very enjoy Rich's products!

Just installed 6 windows all together at rich, what really stand out is the perfect seal and the quality of the window. I live in the area where air traffic are significant enough to disturb our life. With the new window closed, the airplane noise is hardly noticeable. The thickness of the window is also great as the frequency of the heater being turned on is drastically reduced. Installation process is very smooth. Workers are very professional and polite. Overall I'm extremely happy with my experience with Rich. Definitely will recommend them to my friends.

I changed the living room windows. Rich windows has had a great job! They were so nice! I will choose them in the future again.

They were professional, took the time to make the job professional, plumb, and they left the job site immaculate. The door fits tightly (in a very good way) and feels like it will last a long time. They reused my existing hardware (per plan) and installed all of that cleanly and fully functional. They even installed a door stop for me per request. Everything was rock solid and professional caliber. To save a few bucks in labor, R&M recommended I do the painting myself, I gladly accepted the idea since that's the easy part and time consuming when doing multiple coats. The owner(s) who walked and quoted the job were great at explaining the process and communication was excellent from all whom I interacted with at R&M. Rob had to come out the following week to replace a door gasket with a slight nick in it. Instead of complaining about how trivial that was, they had zero questions and it was clear they expected the job to be as perfect as I did. All payments (e.g. down payment, final payment) were performed via their digital online payment portal for convenience. If your door project simply has to be good, I'd definitely give these guys a try.

Chris did an excellent job guiding the project and making sure everything went smoothly throughout the process. The installation crew (Manny and Omar) were absolutely amazing, professional, efficient, detail-oriented, and incredibly clean. They worked hard, respected our home, and left everything spotless when the job was complete. If you're looking for a company that provides great communication, quality workmanship, and exceptional customer service, I highly recommend Cal Coast Window and Door.

We got an estimate from Andersen (less the storm door). Their products and installation method were top-notch, but so was their estimated price! So we wanted something more economical. After some research we heard Milgard windows using an "retrofit" installation would be more in our price range. We also wanted a window/door-installation company that gave us a good price estimate (1/3 the cost of Andersen), was in our locale (Tri-Valley) , and had 5-star rating already. So we were happy to find Cal Coast that met those criteria. The initial estimate process was straightforward. Our estimator was friendly and efficient. The format of the estimate came in digital PDF format. It was easy to print, and the details and layout were very helpful with diagrams of what the windows and door would look like with dimensions. One measurement for one window was slightly off. I mentioned that to my estimator. He assured me that was not a problem because if I accepted their estimate, then the next step was for another technician would come out to the house to re-measure the windows more accurately and in more detail. We did accept the estimate, and indeed another technician came out to do detailed measurements. Then we received a revised and more detailed contract in that same great layout! The estimator kindly set our expectations that our windows and door were going to take 5-6 weeks to custom manufacture and about 1 to 2 days to install. Those timings were right on target, which helped us in planning other events in our life. Installation only took 1 day! The crew was great - courteous, hard working, and efficient. They put foam insulation in the space between our window frames and the new windows. The caulking work was professional. I was pleased. And the crew cleaned up after themselves perfectly. Another thing I was pleased with was Cal Coast's production manager helped me apply and get my city building permit for the new windows. The day of installation, the foreman handed me a nice folder with the printed permit with other instructions. I really appreciated that. Also after installation she worked with my city building department to schedule a final inspection by a city inspector. When the inspector came out, because the product and installation were superb, it passed with no problem. Of course, I paid a little more to have this permit processing service, but it was well worth it. Finally, as you can tell from this rather long review, I'm very pleased with our experience with Cal Coast and the Milgard products. I add my 5-star review to others that have gone before me for Cal Coast!

The consultant comes at the agreed upon time- very much on time. We get into the construction site - and off the bat he says Renewal by Andersen is not for people using Home Depot or Lowe's windows or doors!! Not sure where he got that from- because we have no windows installed so far!! He went on to ask me my experience with costs of doors so far - I said I have quotes from $9k to $30k. He said the renewal costs were much higher. I said okay - how much would my French door cost? He asked if I was the owner- I said I was managing the project. Mind you this is a fenced site and I had access to the property. The moment I said I was managing the project- he said sorry I cannot give you a quote because I am not the owner!!! In setting up the appointment nobody asked for the owner to be there for the quote. If that was a requirement I would have not wasted my time with these folks!! I wasted an hour of my time with this company that talks about customer focus - but completely lacks it!! Will never recommend this company to owners who use me as project manager for their construction!! Response to Antonio: There is a very big difference in giving a quote and signing the contract. I completely agree that the home owner needs to sign the contract- whereas it is reasonable for the project manager to get the quotes. For this specific project I have so far got around 20 quotes from companies from around the USA. Yours was the first company that refused to give a quote to anyone other than the owner. Having said all this- I did have a very nice conversation with one of your leaders, that went over the process in detail and explained the situation to me. I am very appreciative of this conversation and thank you for your time and patience.

Instead, once the check was cleared, the integrity and customer service dropped to an all-time low. Here is what 8 months of "service" has looked like: Damaged Installation: We noticed cracks and gaps under our doors after installation. The company initially denied responsibility and only acknowledged it after I provided photo evidence proving the damage wasn't there previously. Poor Workmanship: The stucco repair attempts were disastrous. Contractors left stains on our patio, and the repair itself was craggy and sandy--nowhere near a professional finish. Total Lack of Reliability: We have dealt with multiple "no-shows," including a contractor missing an appointment during Memorial Day weekend. There is zero regard for the customer's time. Broken Communication: Management claims they enforce a 30-minute arrival notification policy, but this never happens. They cannot even agree with their own contractors on basic communication standards. Unfinished Work: The project remains incomplete 8 months later. After finally sending someone to correct the stucco, they flatly refused to paint the area, with a manager telling me, "we don't paint; you need to paint". It is entirely unreasonable to pay a premium price for new windows only to be left with an unfinished, sloppy exterior and told that finishing the job is "on you." We have one more set of windows to install, and you can guarantee we're not using Renewal by Andersen.
