Suuuuuppper disappointed. I used to come here all the time it's my go to hungover place. However, this place cannot be run by teenagers. My partner went to pickup a bagel. An Asiago bagel, toasted, open face w/ veg cream cheese and cucumbers. He had to repeat every step of his order at least 3x and once I got home it was completely wrong. No cucumbers, not toasted, I'm not even sure it was veggie cream cheese. It's literally CHUNKS of green/red bell pepper/carrots in plain cream cheese. I eat at Rich's probably 3 times a week, and it is always a life changing experience but my bagel sandwich (egg, swiss, avocado) today was unbelievable. I've had both lunch and breakfast here, and I probably preferred the lunch. But the breakfast is a good deal, so it may be worth the trip. First off, the bagels are decent. They've got a homemade look about them, and I feel like they've been getting smaller lately. But in a world of chain bagels and horrible grocery store bagels, beggars can't be choosers. So they're fine. The lunch is a little spendy for the whole deal ($9 I wanna say?), especially considering most places give you a lunch deal for somewhere in the $5-7 range. But I can dig it. The breakfast sandwich was a little better. I opted for the egg-only, and the egg was piled high. I added spinach and tomato (you get two veggies) and spent less than a fiver. The whole thing was okay--the egg had a texture that made me wonder where the eggs came from (eggs? or a large canister?) but I think I know the answer. I ordered a sandwich today. I asked for no extra things. It came with ALL the extra things, dripping in hot sauce with the wrong protein. I asked them to fix it and he looked at me and opened the cash register we and started counting it. Counting all of it, and the tip jar BEFORE remaking my sandwich. Where the bagels are tiny, and the teenagers preparing the food are putting the smallest amount of cream cheese possible on each tiny bagel they prepare. And please, for the love of god, stop pretending to be able to make espresso drinks. I used to really love this place. The comments are true, the bagel size has shrunk some and it seems like they go bad faster. I used to be able to eat them for a few days, but by the next day, they were hard as rocks. I still enjoy the customer service and the egg sandwich though. They are very generous with the fillings and offer some delicious veggies along with the egg salad. It's generally what I always get when I'm in the mood for bagels! I've never had any bad experiences there, service always seems to be efficient. I'll visit again sometime and update. Hopefully my last visit was an off day. read more

I was happy to know Rich's was close to my new office because I remember it always being so good. I've gone three times in the past month and all three times weren't a good experience. Today I got a salad that was moldy so I won't be returning. Their bagels are also pretty small, and nothing to write home about. I'm okay with the customer service. I think people are just so use to overly friendly employees in Utah. I like that they are more low-key and they did refund my money on the moldy salad and thanked me for pointing it out. I almost didn't want to write this review because they're nice owners, but come on, mold? Someone is going to get sick and it needs to be taken care of by the owners. I'd heard about Rich's Bagels for a while, especially since I lived in Millcreek. I love a good bagel! But it seems like anything other than Einstein's is hard to find. But I finally went to Rich's and I was NOT disappointed. The first time I went to Rich's I got a Lox Sandwich on an Onion Dill bagel with plain Cream Cheese, Capers, sliced Red Onion, and sliced Tomato. I also got a Jalapeno Cheddar bagel with Scallion Herb Cream Cheese. The second time I went I got a Lox Sandwich on an Asiago bagel with Scallion Herb Cream Cheese, Capers, and sliced Tomato. I also got a Cinnamon Sugar bagel with Apricot Almond Cream Cheese. As well as a Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie and an Apricot Iced Tea. I have to say, I REALLY like the bagels here. Their bagels are slightly chewy on the outside, but soft and spongy inside. Their bagels and cream cheese flavors are strong and distinguishable, but still subtle and not overpowering. Their Cinnamon Sugar bagel was really balanced. The top had a light sugar coating, enough to taste it's presence, but not sickeningly sweet. The Apricot Almond Cream Cheese had a light sweetness, a clear apricot flavor, and slivered almonds that add great flavor and texture. I was really impressed. Their bagels are slightly smaller than Einstein's, but the texture is less bready (more like a true bagel), the flavors are more creative, and it's a local company! I'm a sucker for a good Lox sandwich, and this one is truly a choose your own adventure sandwich. Choose your bagel, your cream cheese, and your veggies. Everything tastes so fresh! Their Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie is huge, it's beyond yummy, freshly made, and just everything you want in a cookie, slightly crisp around the edges, but soft and chewy in the middle. Their iced tea was good, a little bitter for my taste, but a lemon and a couple sugar packets made it more my style. The staff was very friendly, kind, and professional. I could tell that they have a lot of regulars. Which only happens if the food and people are awesome. I also feel like cost wise everything is very reasonably priced. I got a Sandwich, Bagel with Cream Cheese, a huge Cookie, and a large Iced Tea for $17. Honestly, sometimes your first experience, good or bad, trying a new place can be a fluke. But both times I've been to Rich's Bagels I've had a great experience. I would recommend this place to anyone. Go get you a bagel or seven! read more

We've been coming here for years. I can't understand why the employees won't write down our order? Last week we went on lunch break and ordered 4 sandwiches and the man was struggling to remember the toppings on all of them. When we got them , every one had something wrong. I've never had a bad meal! I always struggle with what to order because I love everything. I drive 60 blocks to get Rich's bagels. They're some of the only "real" bagels in the valley (boiled then baked), excepting the Bagel Project at the Farmer's Market (and maybe a storefront coming soon), and Feldman's (but Feldman's doesn't allow you to get bagels by the dozen to go). They're known for their asiago bagel (it costs a few cents more per bagel) and it seems tasty, but they also have a pretty wide variety of the "usual suspects." Many of their bagels are baked a little less than I'd prefer, but a good double toasting and you're up to golden brown goodness. Short answer, without any parentheses: They're good, real bagels. Worth the drive. This weekend, I also had one of their breakfast bagel sandwiches. As Jeffrey suggested in his review, they don't crack and scramble their own eggs-- they use eggs from a carton. But they offer two veggies per sandwich, and will mix in spinach, hot sauce, and salt and pepper into the egg before cooking it. Yum! Service at this Rich's is interesting. Every time I've been in, I've been greeted in a very friendly manner; I chatted with the manager once about why there aren't more bagel places in town, and she tipped me off that, during the week, they send some of their bagels to Java Jo's. The younger employees seem well meaning, but they are a bit slow and aren't always accurate. (I ordered a bagel and cream cheese to go for my wife, and she gave me a bagel and a TUB of cream cheese. I thought the price was a bit high, but it wasn't until after I paid that I realized what happened. Who thinks you want one bagel and a tub of cream cheese?) Maybe when other bagel bakeries come on-line nearer to down town, the relative ranking of Rich's will fall. But for now, if it's Sunday, and you want a dozen bagels, this is the go-to place. read more

BAGELS? You betcha. These bagels are prime. These bagels are class A, perfect, toasty, warm, soft, delicate yet hardy, delicious bagels. ICED COFFEE? You literally will never have a better iced coffee than the elixir brewed here. I have been around the block in terms of drinking iced coffee, I know what I'm talking about here. And this coffee is so good you'll want to scream it from rooftops and jump on Oprah's couch, exuberantly shouting your love for it. Service is fast and quick. There's not as much selection as some franchised national branches, but they make up for it in quality of bagel. They also do sandwiches or just plain old spread. The atmosphere is friendly, and you can tell the people who frequent this joint have become family to the staff and owners. Lots of charm, comfort and delicious bagels. read more

This is such a gem of a find! I was expecting to walk into a bagel shop that's like every other.....but this is so much more! Darling, friendly, family run business. I was unsure about a certain bagel and without hesitation they offered me a sample. They were so friendly and personable, I ended up telling them my life story. I feel like I'm living in a small town going to the shop where everyone knows everyone. The price is perfect, and there's so many choices, even later in the morning. I had the onion dill and it was so delish! As I was looking over my bagel options I noticed cinnamon raisin and thought to myself, "why is cinnamon ALWAYS ruined with raisins??" Only to see they also have plain cinnamon sugar bagels as well. If you're not in the mood for a bagel they've also got sandwiches, salads, and soup. I can't wait to come back.
