I was recently visiting some friends in Salt Lake & they recommended this place. It did not disappoint. I did my research on the menu before I went in and it was thorough. I will say, the way the menu was laid out made it a little confusing to find what I needed but we got the sandwich I wanted! Also, side note -- I considered ordering delivery and it was 10 dollars for a 13 dollar sandwich & a 3 minute drive (I didn't have a car) so I recommend just walking or driving there). Anyways, the lady at the counter was so patient with me and kind. I ordered my sandwich and then she offered me a free sample of any bakery item on display. I let her choose and she gave me the cinnamon bread with raspberry butter & let's just say I will be dreaming of both. I'm pretty sensitive to cinnamon but it was not overpowering at all. I waited on a cute little couch for my sandwich to be done and it was so peaceful in there for a Monday lunch. Just some elderly couples eating and a few young families. Very nice. Now for the sandwich -- it was amazing. I ordered the Albuquerque Turkey and it was delicious. The green chile mayo put it over the top! It was a bit of spice and tang without being too much. This Great Harvest is particularly good, with friendly staff and quick service. They give generous samples and have new sandwich combinations regularly. I generally get the classic turkey and am always happy with it. Today we got a new menu item, the fruit and nut - Nutella, strawberries, almond slivers and powdered sugar all on their dense and delicious white bread. More of a dessert than lunch perhaps, but would def order again. Their baked goods are always delicious and you can't go wrong with any of their breads. read more

As soon as you walk in to Great Harvest, you will be enveloped with the fabulous smell of fresh-baked bread, plus cookies, scones, cinnamon rolls, and whatever other baked goodies they are making. Everything is incredibly fresh and delicious without all the added chemicals and preservatives of regular bakery items. Although bread is our primary reason to visit, we love their sandwiches, salads, and scones. I often stop by when I'm looking for a gift, and they'll happily package up a combo of bakery items and fun things from their gift selection. Been going to different great harvest locations for years but this Holladay location is by far our favorite! The staff is awesome and everything is always fresh I love the breads and sandwiches but our favorite thing about this location is the way they do their holiday sugar cookies! The other locations seem to do a thicker and richer frosting but this is the only one that seems to do a nice even glaze layer of frosting and they are so delicious. Great Harvest Bread is always a good choice for consistently quality bread, cookies, sandwiches and more. The smell literally lures you into the store... it's hard to resist. I personally only purchase bread from the Taylorsville store on Wednesdays because they offer loaves for $2.99/Each. The Holladay store has yet to offer such discounts. I'm a big fan of their sandwiches. I've tried at least a half dozen different sandwiches and all of them have been good. I used to frequent this location a lot from 2015-2018 because it was super close to my house and their bread was always five stars. After moving down the valley, i stopped visiting as often, but now I'll always make the drive! Their entire menu is delicious. My favorite is the hummus sandwich and white bread. So disappointed with their salads! I got a salad at a great harvest in idaho falls, a Cobb salad and it was phenomenal! I usually don't go to great harvest for salad but I was craving that salad I had, so I went to this great harvest to get a Cobb salad and it was so gross! There weren't even fresh avocados it was packaged guacamole smashed in the middle of the salad. They don't give you enough dressing and the chicken tasted weird. Nine dollars for a gross salad for sure won't be coming back. Sidenote, the staff was very friendly for two stars are not for the staff the two stars as for the food. read more

My mother used to get bread from Great Harvest when I was little. She'd always bring home some of her sample for us, usually bread with honey and butter, sometimes cookie. I just love their bread... even after switching to low carb, and trying to go keto, I very very occasionally get a loaf from Great Harvest because it's so good. Basically it's like cake. Better than most cake!!! My favorite thing is the cinnamon raisin bread. Toast it and butter, sprinkle a little cinnamon, yum. Their whole wheat breads are great too. Pumpkin and lemon cakes so good. The white bread is also delicious. I love that they always give you a sample. And it's a good sample too. Expect to get a BIG slice of bread, or a half a cookie. Enjoy their honey and butters with your sample. So nice. Their oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are delicious. Best ones aside from ones I make myself at home. I've tried their sandwiches. They are good, but just sandwiches. A little expensive. I'd rather drop by Harmon's to pick up some meat and stuff, then grab a full loaf from Great Harvest, and make my own sandwiches. The old building is gone, but Great Harvest is still here in Holladay, around the corner by Ace Hardware where "The Store" used to be. Great Harvest has been around for over 20 years and they continue to knock it out of the park. They have moved from a strictly whole wheat bakery back in the day, to a delightful eclectic bakery that features amazing French delicacies (the Holladay owner is a Francophile), sourdough, Cinnaburst and Farmhouse White bread in addition to our favorites High Fiber and Dakota whole wheat breads. Great offering of sandwiches- a little pricey, but great quality and you always get a huge sample of whatever you'd like from the sample board. The daily sugar cookies are a small piece of art and so good. (Although I prefer the classic with buttercream at Taylorsville and Draper, Peggy's cookies are always beautiful and it is fun to see the creativity). Still only 5 ingredients in the honey whole wheat bread and they mill the flour on site. The staff (almost) always seems like they are having fun together and even if it is busy, you are in and out really quickly. GHBC is a Holladay classic and it just keeps getting better and better. Overpriced. I have been here several times and anytime I get a half sandwich it costs at least five bucks for a barely-there sandwich. Also, there is no one there to actually help with pick up orders. I frequently wait and try to get an employee's attention for about 10 min. One time I gave up and got in the line for ordering. I Love Great Harvest bread, and always have. I worked at the st George location when I was younger, and I learned to double knead! What a great skill. However, I'm shocked about the steep price increase on a loaf of bread. A dollar is a huge markup, and pretty drastic, I'd say. $6.25 for a loaf a bread is pretty crazy.
