Not good for business to have your store closed and only allow drive-through. Limits selection due to the pressure of the cars behind while you're sitting in the drive-through window. It takes longer to determine what you want. They are friendly enough at the window, showing you what they have on a tray. Donuts are good. Decent place to go if you don't mind the pressure at the window. There is no ambience or bathroom because you can't get inside to take your time to choose what you want. Pretty good donut shop. The lobby is CLOSED so you'll have to use the drive thru! I got an assorted dozen which was about $20. A little pricey but good quality donuts, my coworkers really liked them! It's right off the freeway so it's not a bad location. The service was really friendly but they didn't really have a menu to look off of. Super fresh and flavorful donuts. This is one of the first places I think of when I'm asked to get donuts or want to take donuts to something. Tons of different options and each is delicious! My family loves the fruity pebbles donut, the maple bar is a classic, I love the chocolate on chocolate, and the blueberry one is a must! You can only go through the drive-thru, as their inside is closed, which can be a little discouraging because the line can be long and it takes them a bit to get your order. As long as you're not in a rush, it's not a huge deal. read more

I went to Darla's Donuts the other day because I wanted a donut, but I also wanted to pick up donuts for my lab team because we've had a tough past few weeks. The lobby was closed at the time, and only the drive through was open, so there was a bit of a wait. There were a variety of donuts to choose from - from plain and old fashioned to a little more gourmet. I chose a variety baker's dozen, and I heard great things about the donuts. I've heard about Darlas donuts but have never had the chance to try them. I'm so glad that I did. I was recently tasked to find delicious donuts for my sister's wedding reception. I sampled several different local donuts including Darlas. And out of several high rated local donut places - we found Darlas to be the best. Delicious donuts, lots of variety and great service. Definitely a new favorite! Jenna was helpful in advising us and taking our order for 17 dozen donuts. If you don't live in the area, this place is located directly off the HWY 201 and Redwood exit. And so worth the drive!!! We went traditional with glazed, sugar and cinnamon topped glazed. I never really go down to SLC unless I need to. I finished up at a local clinic for a work physical, and was looking for some interesting food places in the area. Darla's Donuts was down the road from the clinic, and with rave reviews from both Yelp and Google, I figured why not? They open early but close in the early afternoon. I got here an hour before they closed and they still had donuts I had wanted to try. They were so helpful answering all my questions as to what donut was what and which ones were their popular ones. I wanted to try their croissant bars, and there was one left, and the lady behind the counter said she was going to get me a better looking one from the back. I appreciated her going the extra mile for me. I asked if there was any cream filled ones, and she offered to cream fill any donut of my choosing. Another extension of kindness from this amazing donut shop. I ended up trying the following donuts: Blueberry muffin: 10/10 - tasted exactly like a blueberry muffin! Fruity pebbles: 8/10 - simple, but good. Tastes like what you would expect. Croissant bar: 10/10 - basically a glazed donut but crispier because of the croissant aspect. I really loved the texture and taste of this one. It's one of their fan favorites for a reason. Chocolate covered cream filled - I didn't try this because I got it for my husband. He finished it quickly though so I assume it was delicious. Banana cream pie - 8/10 pretty good. The banana flavor isn't too strong, the whipped cream was like frosting. It was a good take on banana cream pie. Pumpkin pie - 8/10 very fall flavor type of donut. The cinnamon and pumpkin flavor goes off. I would 100% make the drive from Davis County to SLC to get these donuts. I would go here earlier though so you can get more selections. Also, I know this place is good because right before I walked in, a lady had ordered FOUR boxes of a dozen donuts. Darla's is fantastic. I wish it were closer! read more

Drop by to pick up a dozen donuts and I wasn't disappointed by the variety available at 600 AM! The vanilla custard filled donuts are hands down the very best! Apple fritters are what they are known for but I have to admit that I have had better and was a bit disappointed at how little apples were in them. But the good news is their raised sugar and glazed, old fashion and filled donuts are top shelf! So I'll leave the apple fritter behind and enjoy the rest! We visit SLC several times a year, and this was the first time Darla's was on our radar. There are many excellent donut and desert options in SLC, but Darla's wins our vote for best donuts! We sampled nearly 2 dozen, including the fritter, and they were all delicious. There is no store front, just the drive through. Not sure what to get? Ask them to see their menu and they flash a tray full of the days tasty options! Excellent service as well. Definitely recommend you make the trip to them out. read more

I was craving donuts! This is definitely satisfied it. Freshly made in the morning. We got maple bars, lemon filled, blueberry, chocolate coconut, apple cinnamon cluster. They were all amazing. The service here is excellent right when we walked in they greeted us and talked through what they had available and what was most popular. Get the blueberry doughnut it is the best. Out of the world! They were all so soft and had really great flavor. I would definitely come back here a whole box cost us $9! I hope they stay in business forever. This sweet unassuming shop is a shining gem! It was our first time going and I'm so glad we found it! I was in desperate need to find a croissant doughnut and this place popped up! So I grabbed my little brother and we were off! They only have the drive through open due to COVID, so when we saw the line we knew this was going to be good! When we pulled up the sweetest women in the world help us picked out doughnuts. Seriously guys, this woman belongs in Candyland! She was so kind and so helpful! We got the last two croissant bars and BOY IM GLAD WE DID! They are incredible! Fluffy and light without being greasy. My husband LOVED his blueberry doughnut. And my son loved his plan glazed! Special days call for special foods, and yesterday was a special day. It was Darla Day, so naturally you go to Darla's Donuts to celebrate. I was worried they wouldn't be open (have you guys heard about this pandemic thing?) but indeed, not only are they open but they have a drive-thru. Huzzah! I rolled up about 10am and drove to the side of the building. The drive-thru is really just a window in the side of the building. No menu, no speaker, just a window. I got a small box of four donuts, telling them what I wanted, and they were happy to fill it and oblige. Woohoo! This is a pretty straightforward donut shop, and without the glass cases in the lobby to look at, I can't say what they have as there isn't a menu. But from what I can deduce, there's your glazed, your frosted, your maples, your bars, and none of this precious or fancy stuff you find elsewhere. Darla Day was a success. I have been waiting months and months to try them and it was the right time. Timing is everything when it comes to Darlas, apparently. This place is POPPING first thing in the morning. I was introduced via one of the physicians that brought darla's donuts every Friday as a morale booster. Once I left that clinic, I started the same tradition at my own clinic. They are a crowd pleaser and have something that everyone will love! Friendly people behind the counter and solid coffee to boot. My favorites are the buttermilk and the cinnamon twist, but the banana and root beer were very interesting to try! Might be the perfect donut.. The quality of these donuts are exceptional - on top of being super fresh, the texture is perfectly soft and chewy and the taste is very clean, not too sweet, and no artificial after taste. We got the maple syrup, original, cinnamon crunch, coconut chocolate, banana, and blueberry. All 6 flavors were all so good but my favorite would be the cinnamon, original and blueberry. The staff is also super friendly. We got there around noon so there weren't many options left but the lady helping us offered to make more of the flavors we wanted in the back! We didn't take up her offer but it's definitely nice to have that option. Sad we don't live around here but next time we come back to SLC, definitely coming back here! read more

OMG! When I drove up to the window for "curbside" service and was shown a tray of the day's offerings, any thought of restraint disappeared. By the time I got to my son's house less than a mile away, I knew that fresh coffee paired with these exceptional treats would be the day's highlight for all of us. Turnovers were a perfected pastry; doughnuts were spot on and not mass produced. Flavor top notch. Oh, and 2 days later I returned as I totally support the small local businesses that make the large scale "competition" look like they need to learn how to bake!!! It was 615am and there was a line of cars, i see this as a good sign of things to come. Appearance:as far as appearances go, im a little shocked, looks like someone thru a drive thru window on the side of a strip mall. But leople keep pulling up for their donut fix, so im staying in line. Service:The car in front of me is either the pickiest person in the world or an old friend of the window cashier as i waited for 15-20 mins for their transaction to end so i could get my sugar carb fix. Once it was my turn i was done in like 3 mins tops. She was nice and friendly and may have even undercharged me for my bavarian creme i ordered on the side. Product: i come from california and i like my donuts a certain way, Darlas donuts hit home with me. I know people swear by some of the local favorites but you can keep them. I didnt take a picture but i got two dozen donuts, glazed and assorted. Price: Yikes!! I admit it has been awhile since i bought a large order of donuts and the sticker shock was audible on my part but at about 40$ i was a little shocked. We heard that this place gave Banbury Cross Donuts a run for its money. so of course we had to try them out. Are they better? That is debatable.... I have to give 5 stars for the apple fritters. They were perfect! I could taste apple with every bite and they were not greasy at all! It was awesome! Another 5 Star for the croissant sticks - what the world. So good! Strange yet so light and good and flat. We really liked that the donuts were not covered in glaze. That the flavor was on top so it left the donuts light and fluffy and not greasy. The jelly filled ones had great flavor with a punch and they were not skimpy on that filling either!! Some in every bite. The old fashion buttermilk was okay- a little dry. Still good.
