Having misjudged a turn and scraped the front of my car on the metal frame of a sign (though I prefer to say the sign jumped out and hit my car!), I took it to two body shops with 5-star Yelp ratings for estimates. At Hyperion Collision Center the man who helped me told me that my front fender and bumper had to be replaced, then called someone on the phone to get the prices for the new parts and labor. His estimate was more than the book value of my 15-year-old car. At Rick's Auto Body, Kevin examined the damage carefully and said both parts could be repaired--the fender would be removed to straighten out a dent and replaced, the bright yellow scrape marks could be buffed out, and the bumper would be repainted. Kevin explained in detail what would need to be done and warned me that the results might not be perfect but the car would look OK. The estimate he worked out for parts and labor was about 25% of the estimate from the other shop. I picked up my car from Rick's right on schedule, and the fender and bumper look perfect. I hope I won't need a body shop again, but if I ever do I'll go straight to Rick's Auto Body! read more

I can recommend this body shop and Kevin without hesitation. My beloved LC's front bumper suffered from a half-baked paint job from another highly rated body shop in the LA area, and I was ticked. White paint was smeared on adjacent trim. Layers were peeling and warping. Unacceptable! This is my dream car we're talking about. Thankfully, I found Rick's Auto Body on Hyperion. The front bumper on this particular car is fussier than the typical car bumper, as you can see from the picture, so I was demanding about the quality of work. So this review is long overdue! Rick's Auto Body is top notch service all the way. There's nothing quite like the feeling of waking up to see the entire left side of your car has been side swiped/scratched while it was parked overnight. Within 24 hours, these guys had completely removed and buffed away the scratches and my car was good as new, for a fair price. read more

it was on the day before New Year's eve last year, we were in a hurry to drive from LA to San Francisco. Unfortunately our BMW X5 bumped into a pole in the hotel garage and the car became almost un-drivable. We were desperately looking for a workshop to repair our car so that we could drive home as soon as possible. After a few attempts, we finally found Ricks's Auto Body. The owner was so kind and trying to help us in all the ways he could find. Although his shop was not able to repair our car before the end of the year, he was able to help us arrange a rental car and also a car delivery service with one of his friends. Although it did cost a few thousand dollars for us to get home the same day and have our car also delivered almost right after we arrived home, we were very happy to be home before the New Year's eve. I called here yesterday about my car turning off and was told by the man I spoke to that they would be able to look at the O2 sensor. He even set up an appointment for me. I go in today and the woman I speak to in the office needs repeated attempts for me to explain to her that I had an appointment about the O2 sensor. Finally a man sitting behind her starts whispering that he's the one I spoke to. Turns out, he had no idea what the shop actually specializes in but is taking appointments anyway! I asked the woman in the office why I wasn't told on the phone that the shop couldn't take the appointment, and she says she doesn't know. That's after she looks to a 3rd man in the offices about what to do. One hand doesn't know what the other's doing and they take no responsibility for misleading people and wasting our time. This business needs to train the people it employs. I had my time wasted and now I have to go through the weekend without knowing what's the matter with my car. Totally incompetent customer service here. If you need anything done to your car. Rick's is a disorganized, and uncaring business. Find help elsewhere. read more

The five star reviews are no joke! Alex is THE MAN. I hit a massive pot hole that caused my rear bumper some misalignment, and I feared I'd need to get a total replacement. Alex looked at it, grabbed a couple tools and with another worker, popped it back into place within 30 seconds to salvage as much as he could and now it looks as close to perfect as it can be. Incredibly satisfied ; rick went above and beyond my repairs. I had a minor fender bender and greedy Geico adjusted my accident; relegating parts strictly to an OEM -- or after market prices. These are third party , lesser parts than manufactured original parts. I didn't like this as I viewed it as a consumer would view the 99 cents store to Ralph's or Whole Foods. I wanted what the manufacturer authorized, not the knock-off brands -- and for safety reasons too! Kevin is great. He was honest and upfront about all my repair options, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the price and the work done. I got a couple dents on my fender and went around town getting quotes, which ranged from $650 to $1200 for the typical body work, repaint, and door blend. Kevin at Rick's is the only person who suggested paintless dent removal, which had a much lower price. As I was already resigned to spending at least $650 for the full gamut of body work and paint, I found myself arguing with Kevin to spend MORE money at his shop, while he was trying to convince me to spend LESS. (He was also sure to explain that paintless dent removal typically isn't the 100% perfect fix that the other option would be, but in my situation, I would likely be happy with the results.) I left the shop feeling it was too good to be true, but decided to do an exercise in trust, lol, and ended up going with the paintless dent removal at Rick's. My fender is good as new! read more

The guy here who fixed my door handle the first time was really nice. But, several months later, the door handle came off again. I told my boyfriend to take it back here because they did such a good job the first time. When he got there he was yelled at by an employee for parking the car in one of their available spots in their lot. So he moved the car. When he got back from moving the car, he was told by a different employee that he could help him in a few minutes and he should put his car back in the lot. So he goes back to the neighborhood he had to park it in and puts it back in the lot. Then he waits twenty minutes and that employee doesn't shows up. He went back into the lobby and the first employee screamed at him, "I thought I told you to move that car?" He then demanded he leave the keys with him so he can get to it "sometime later this week maybe." So yeah, we still have a broken door handle and now we need to find a new place to get our car fixed. read more

Went there twice for front fender body work. Both times the fender popped right off in a matter of weeks. They recommended and installed aftermarket fender. But that shouldn't mean "black market" ripoff. They said it was comparable in quality at a lower cost. Didn't leave a review the first time, instead went right to them and showed them and this first time they refused to give discount or do new fender for free. They said it was our fault. I'm not a reckless driver. I did not bump anything. It was just not on there correctly. The second time it popped right off again. Very dangerous, expensive and annoying. So today on August 9th 2019, I hit an infamous LA speed bump which absolutely destroyed my splash plate underneath my car (metal was scraping against the ground) and left me stranded in LA (I'm originally from Orange County). I first pulled into America's Tire Depot and they said they couldn't touch it but that they knew of an excellent repair shop and thus they gave me a referral card to Ricks. I pulled right in and Kevin greeted me and assured me that he could fix it right away and that it was not a big deal. I came in with some damage to my Fiat L on the right/back passenger doors and back quarter panel. I had hit a car while parking and was at-fault. As this was my first car accident, I wasn't sure of the ins and outs of dealing with the insurance company. Upon walking in and meeting with Alex, I felt instantly calmed. He walked out to my car and wrote an estimate for the damage. He also gave me the complete run-down on dealing with the insurance company vs. paying out of pocket. I felt...calm even in the midst of a frustrating situation. Alex is the man! The whole staff at Rick's is professional, attentive and friendly. Even the gentleman who prepped and cleaned my car before I picked up my car should be given 5 stars. Alex on the other hand, deserves 5+. I came in with a Honda Fit that was unfortunately the recipient of a hit and run. Fortunately I was not in it at the time, but my wallet was not smiling about that morning surprise with NO note. The craziness was subsided when I took my car to Alex who ran through the options available. Of course I only saw the situation as black and white. Needless to say, he went above and beyond my expectations, even to the point of asking the Hertz next door to let me drop off my rental from Burbank over there in Silver Lake. Just had another great experience here! I managed to chip the paint on my one-day old car opening the hatchback in my garage, and Kevin and his team fixed it for free! They matched the paint sample in front of me (even though it's a unique color) and touched it up in a few minutes while I stood there.
