Got an estimate at a body shop a few minutes away. The first guy took five minutes to take a good look at my car, went inside and found the best deal on the part and printed me a copy of the estimate, which was $625. I wanted to get a comparison so I took it to Ricks next. The guy came out, looked at the car for about 30-40 seconds and told me that it'd be ballpark $1700-$1800. He didn't take the time to look up the parts or print anything. I went there because of the good reviews, but I can't see why it's rated so high. I got in a fender-bender that scrunched up one side of the hood of my car. I initially brought it to Rick's to just get an estimate on repair, or, failing that, a total replacement. Upon first look, they said if I wanted it fully without dings and with a clean paint job, I'd need the hood replaced. But if I just wanted it to be functional (ie. not have an air gap) they could see about bending it back. Well, I waited for them to inspect it and braced for the worst. Turned out, they were able to bend it back into serviceable shape in about 10 minutes. There's a ding where the paint will inevitably chip and probably start to rust, but that was all I wanted. They charged me NOTHING. They shook my hand and wished me a good weekend. A car accident is shitty, no matter how minor, and they made my whole month. I desperately hope I won't need their services again soon, but if I do, or if I decide to get the hood replaced when the paint does start to chip, I will be back. Thank you, guys. read more

I had an accident in March 2019 (More than a year Now) I did all the do's and don'ts paper work with the Insurance of the woman that damaged the car ... You know? Insurance companies work on their own with Estimates and all that stuff but Having RICKS on my side ... I just tell the insurance "Send the check to Ricks" LOL and that's it !! So continuing my story I couldn't take the car as soon I learned that the insurance company already issued a check to Ricks (Remember !! I'm talking about happened more than a year) Then in 2020 OMG THE PANDEMIC #COVID 19 And I was clueless with all restrictions .... FACE COVERING ... 6 FEET AWAY EACHOTHER ETC.. So !! I decided to take the car to RICKS not even calling before on July 6th ... On my arriving I ask Ricks staff if they still have the paper work from the insurance and they certainly have it.. Auto body shops in Los Angeles are shadier than a weeping willow in a Louisiana bayou at high noon. If you've ever had the misfortune of dealing with some of these villains, you know that they're all basically vampire phallus - they suck and you're going to get screwed in the end. So finding a good body shop is a good thing. Finding a great one KICKS MORE ASS than an eight-legged donkey. Clearly, I am given to hyperbole - with me, things are either amazing or awful when the reality is usually somewhere in between... but not in this case. This place is amazing and that is an understatement. From the staff to the facility to the work they do and turn around time that they do it in, the entire experience is so far above the competition it is unreal. Let me put it this way - I spent about ten minutes total at Rick's and that is the highest possible compliment I can pay to any business that deals with cars. Anyone who has ever gone to a mechanic only to find themselves standing around forever while the one guy who runs the office demonstrates his poor multi-tasking skills (or lack thereof) knows exactly why this says it all. I pull into their shop (a more accurate word would be facility - shops are the shitholes the multi-tasking vampires run) Kevin comes right out, greets me with a handshake and we're in his office doing business inside of a minute. From there, everything he said and did was informed, professional and above all... HONEST. (You wouldn't believe some of the scams auto body shops try to run when it comes to insurance work). We do the walk around on my vehicle as the courtesy car from Hertz arrives to pick me up - oh yeah, he called them the moment I got there. I'm out of there in six minutes yet felt like he gave me all the time in the world, patiently answering all of my questions and giving me a lot of helpful information. The car was fixed in record time and they even repaired a dent that wasn't covered by the insurance. Even better, they tried to correct a spot of shoddy work that another place had done years before at no extra charge. The car looked brand new and it was only when I saw the remarkably competitive cost that it occurerd to me that I needed to spend some time sharing my experience with all of you. I think it took about four minutes for me to get my car when it was all done. My car door was dented at work-so I searched for an auto body shop near my place. Rick's came up most well rated so I emailed them a photo of the dent and asked for a quote. I called a bit afterwards to make sure they received it, and was glad when a receptionist answered and assured me someone will reply by the end of the day. I spoke with Kevin a couple of hours later who gave me a verbal quote, which was reasonable. I took my car in the next day and was helped right away. Within 15 minutes, I walked away with an official quote, and an easy payment method via credit card over the phone (the film production company was paying for the damages since it was a work related damage). Thank you, Kevin, Liana, and the rest of the Rick's Auto Body staff for making what could have been a nerve-wracking experience into a smooth and pleasant one...and the work you did on my car is PERFECT. Spoke to Kevin. Kevin is extremely patient. I asked a zillion questions. I really did. Kevin answered all of them calmly. He has a soothing demeanor and had no problem putting me at ease by taking the time to explain everything to me. When a business cares about its customers, that usually means that they care about the quality of their work, too -- so I felt I could trust Kevin to do a great job. Kevin dealt directly with my insurance company and got everything taken care of, keeping me clearly informed along the way. I picked my car up today and it looks GREAT!!!! Kevin even had it washed and vacuumed. He also has my insurance company sending a check to me for an appearance allowance for a minor scuff to a mud guard, and both of these extras were totally unexpected nice surprises. Most of all, Rick's Auto Body did BEAUTIFUL, QUALITY WORK on my vehicle!!!! My silver car looks as if nothing had ever happened to it:) I would say that Kevin's Auto Body is the SPA OF CAR REPAIR SHOPS! Completely enjoyed my hassle free experience with these guys. They were so quick to give me an estimate and all of their employees are all so friendly. They were eager to help and actually gave me a few pointers about what the insurance provider is obligated to provide. I've never had anything car related be this easy. I also over head a conversation one of the sales people was having with a woman who didn't know the average price for tires. She had called him to see if her quote was reasonable. Guess what? Just when you think you'll never need a body shop again...a big truck plows into the back of your car! My poor Infiniti G37 had to be towed away. It was obliterated. The only good news?? It had only lived 5 days with me before I backed it down the insanely narrow chasm that the realtor called a "driveway" when he marketed this house. I was in an accident in which another driver rear-ended me, and I had to go through his insurance to get my car repaired. Alex at Rick's was super professional and absolutely in his element. I'm a repeat customer to Rick's Auto Body. I know you won't believe me when I tell you it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm an Asian driver. The most recent two incidents happened just months apart: 1) I was rear-ended and 2) my car was broken into. First off, Kevin runs an honest business - which can often be hard to find in the autobody business. But beyond that, Kevin is personally very nice, empathetic to unfortunate situations, and works as a great middleman between you and the insurance company to make sure that you get everything taken care of with the least cost and hassle. If I could give Rick's 6, 7 or even 10 stars, I would! They are that good! I recently brought my mangled RSX to this place after a portion of a chain linked fence fell on top of it, smashing my windshield and landing on the hood of my car. Never in a million years would I ever think that could happen to me. Apparently a commercial truck was backing up and crashed into the other side of the fence where my car was parked. The fence then fell on my car. Thank goodness those vehicles have great insurance! As soon as the tow truck dropped my car off at Rick's, the guys there were more than accommodating. They took the reins on everything and kept constant communication with the liable party's insurance company until my car was completely fixed the following week. They gave me a whole new windshield, replaced the hood, found numerous scratches on the driver side door that I had missed during the initial inspection, and repainted the entire front half of the car. The paint job was awesome! When I picked it up, my car looked good as new! I was so impressed that the following day, I took my weekend car, a 3 series bmw, back to Rick's to get a quote on some minor scratches and dent on the lower front bumper of the car. As a returning customer, they gave me a quote I can't refuse! I will be bringing my 3 series back to their shop next week. Rick's was not part of my Esurance network, but I decided to go with them anyway because of their great reviews on Yelp to repair damages to the front end of my Prius. I feel like a positive Yelp review is the least I can do in return for the great service I received here. Kevin, the owner, was extremely personable and kind when I came in. He told me it would take approximately a week to repair my car. When Rick's discovered additional scratches to my car that hadn't been documented by my insurance claims guy, Kevin handled all of the additional paperwork to get that approved. Due to my insurance company dragging their feet, the car took a few additional days to be repaired. When Rick's found out I was not covered by Esurance for a rental car, Kevin told me to rent a car and that it would be deducted from my final bill with them. He also gave me an additional discount for the inconvenience of being without my car for a few more days. I would recommend these guys to anyone needing auto body repairs. read more

Let me start by saying that they were very inviting and courteous the minute I walked in. Everyone greeted me nicely from the guys outside to the girls inside of the office who helped me with paperwork. The reason I went to these guys was because I was rear ended in the freeway and needed to get my rear bumper fixed. Not only did they do a great job fixing the bumper, but all the little details such as a scratch on the passenger side door, the unhinged side view mirror, and the flaky paint on the front bumper were fixed to perfection. ORIENTATION: Nobody wants to need auto body work. But when both of your kids total their cars within two weeks, you think about repairing instead of replacing. I've hired one other auto body shop in another city. I'm not a car enthusiast -- I'd say I'm an average consumer of this service. Right after the first accident, we took the car to a different shop. They said the car was totaled and sent us away. We checked yelp and found Rick's, and they gave us a lower estimate and prepared to jump in to do the work. When the second car was wrecked, we just added it to the task list at Rick's. ASSESSMENT - THE BEAUTY: The brothers who now own Rick's are conscientious, cooperative, fair and reasonable businessmen. They are courteous, provide thorough information, and allow you to come by and check progress up close and personal when you want to. When one of our damaged cars needed towing across town to get there, Rick's went above and beyond, making arrangements for a tow from their associate at a reduced price. RIck's prices are also fair and reasonable, and the finished car came out good as new. Posting my review to this location, as well: RICK'S IS THE BEST!!! After being treated absolutely horribly at another body shop I'd gone to to get a quote (check my reviews to see which one of you're shopping around so you can avoid it), I stopped by Rick's almost completely out of hope and on the verge of tears. Side note: I did not have comprehensive collision insurance (e.g. I had to pay for the damages to my car) and was jobless/virtually broke due to my move to LA less than two weeks prior. I'd been in an accident that bent my hood hinges - raising it about two inches off the frame - and cracked my front bumper. I pulled up to Rick's after the aforementioned experience. Some of the cars sitting on the lot were ritzy exotics so I kind of expected me and my decade-old Civic to be laughed out the door. To my delighted surprise, it was the total opposite: I was immediately treated with *genuine* kindness and compassion. I was totally frank about my financial situation and made it clear that I just needed the car to be roadworthy but that it'd be bare minimum and possibly salvaged parts. Even at that point I was still treated with the utmost respect and care. The guys had my car in and out in three days and made my budget work. It didn't get me everything I wanted (totally minor/cosmetic stuff like paint on the new bumper) but they were fair and honest and got me back into driving condition, and that makes them a million bucks in my book. There was even some work under the hood that had to be done once they pried it off that hadn't been visible and, knowing how strapped I was, gave me the family discount on. Words cannot express how grateful I am to the beyond respectable brothers who run the locations. Rick's is quite literally the only place I will ever recommend for body work. Yelpful tidbit #1: When you are not at-fault in an accident, you do not have to get your car fixed at the body shop that the insurance company is telling you about. You have the legal right to take your car to the body shop of your choice. Woohoo! So thanks to my fellow Yelpers and your kick-ass reviews, I exercised my legal right and chose Rick's. Many folks mentioned Alex and when I first met him, I felt at ease. He is very knowledgeable and his easy going attitude makes the post-accident body shop experience less intimidating and more manageable. Part of the appeal of Rick's is Hertz Rental right on the property. While Hertz wasn't perfect, overall, the convenience is really, well, super convenient. I have to mention Tyrone. He is responsive, as long as you are persistent. Tidbit #2: If you are not a smoker, demand a non-smoking car. Great service and great people! I found this place after someone in my apartment complex hit my parked car. Originally, I went to get a quote to show they the cost since they wanted to pay out of pocket. In the end, we went through insurance and I picked this location because of the service and help I received from getting the estimate. Honestly, I never felt like I was being ripped off.
