WORST dry cleaning experience I have ever had. There is a reason why they have horrible reviews on yelp. I took in my duvet to be cleaned, they give it back to me with large bleach like spots. The duvet was beige with stripes-- completely ruined. I tell them and they said it was like that when it was brought in which was a lie. They then provide a photo of "proof"...the photo is timestamped when I had brought it BACK in to complain. The entire time they insinuated I was lying and that they don't have any liquids that could have caused these large bleach like stains on my duvet. This back and forth went on for TWO MONTHS, they only apologized and agreed to refund me after I threatened legal action. Horrible customer service read more

Lately I have been having bad experiences with Rick cleaners losing my clothes. The alterations department is very unorganized. I had a pair of slacks alter and they misplaced my slacks. My slacks were missing for about 4 to 5 months and finally they were found after I had relentlessly pressed the issue. The last encounter was when my husband had prepaid for all dry cleaned items but when he gets there the clerk tells him he owes additional 17.00 because she had made an error. This last encounter was the icing on the cake. I will not do business with Rick's Cleaners again. read more

Horrible experience with even worse customer service. AVOID! They've LOST my clothing twice now. This second time they assured me they hadn't so after a few weeks of having to reach out, get their video of me dropping off my clothes and only after that admitting they had lost it, I finally got my clothes back. No "we're sorry for the inconvenience" or care at all. They were even annoyed that I was following up to try and get my clothing they lost. Suits still had markings and hair on them. None of the shorts were buttoned at top with anything at the collars. One shirt was half-a$$ out on hanger crooked and by time I got home it had pressed wrinkles in it. Worst end result from any dry cleaners I ever had. Will not go back with my business. read more

The great Austin ice storm knocked out power to this store about 2 hours after we dropped off our clothes needed for a wedding the next week. This wouldn't have been a problem except we were driving and only staying in Austin for the week. Multiple calls to rescue our clothes went unanswered and even a visit to the store resulted in a woman there doing pickups saying there was nobody there who could find our unwashed wedding wear. We ended up asking a local coworker to drive there three days later and FedEx our clothes to a safe location. So, unresponsive, unhelpful, and even in a bit of a desperate situation, unwavering in ineptitude. Ended up just buying more clothes along the way. read more

In the last year they've updated their system so that they can text you when your order is ready and easily look you up in the system to start your order. They also now are able to keep a record of you in their system so they can pull up up by phone when you come in for easy check in. Employees are efficient when you reach the counter, so be courteous to patrons in line and have your clothes ready for them. They have good COVID protections, with employees wearing masks and barriers between them and customers. read more

I like Rick's cleaners and have dropped off clothing for cleaning at several locations - just depending upon where I might be doing errands, etc. They are inexpensive & have a quick turn around. I found out the Cameron location does alterations & I had a couple of garments that needed hems -they're made of delicate fabrics I didn't want to mess with myself. The price was great. It took a few weeks, but that was fine. The problem: both garments (new, & as I said, made of delicate fabrics) were safety-pinned to the hangers with multiple pins, so they have holes poked through them now. Both have those little hanger straps sewn in, so this was absolutely not necessary. The garments' weight will pull from those locations & the holes will definitely grow. Not stoked. read more

Dropped shirt off last week. Shirt was clean (never worn), so I told the lady I didn't need it laundered but needed HEAVY STARCH. Of course, it has to be laundered/washed also, which is fine, but since this is for a wedding that I'm in this week I needed HEAVY STARCH. I was assured I would get heavy starch. Picked the shirt up today and guess what ... no starch whatsoever. I did NOT get what I was promised. Now I have a wrinkled shirt to wear to my sister-in-law's wedding. The store would NOT give a refund, so now we will be disputing the charge through our credit cards. read more

Updating: I received a call from Rick's cleaners the very next day, which I really appreciate. The ms. on the other line offered to further dry the jacket and provide tips on how to even out the clumped feathers in the jacket. In addition, I was offered some free cleaning credits for future needs. A+ for the quick follow up. Personally, I did not feel that it was worth the time to follow up and spend time at the cleaners. This was my first time using a dry cleaning service in Austin. I looked on Google maps for a cleaner nearby after an oil-based hair product exploded in my suitcase with my new, just-tailored suit. I ended up choosing Rick's because they are locally owned. I dropped off my suit Thursday evening and noted the area that was stained and they said they'd try their best. It was ready fairly quickly, Saturday afternoon and I was only charged $7.99. When I picked the suit up, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were able to completely remove the oil stains and didn't even ask for additional compensation (which I was expecting since I assume they had to do more work than usual to remove it). I'll definitely be back for any future dry cleaning needs and telling anyone I know who is looking for a cleaner to visit Rick's. Thank you!! read more

The first time I tried Rick's, I was impressed with their good quality of work for a very reasonable price. Well recently, I noticed a severe decline in their work. The collars and cuffs on my shirts looked as if they had not been touched. The other day, I was prepared for a knock out drag out and to be featured on the Five O'clock News as this was the third attempt to fix the issue with a shirt. What exactly do the folks at Rick's think customers pay them to do? Well, it certainly isn't clean and take care of their cloths. This one is my fault. I should have believed the sign. Oh, and just to top of an all around horrendous experience with Rick's, when I arrived at their store at 7:04 PM to pick up my garment after racing there after work, two girls inside shook their heads at me while I pleaded with them to let me get my jacket through the glass. You get what you pay for. Actually you get much, much less at Rick's Cleaners. After a few times of not getting my items back very fresh, I asked if they could give them a little more tlc. Attitude, but that's the usual. Fine, whatever. When I went to pick up this particular batch of clothes, I didn't have time to check them. When I got home, I noticed a key button was missing on a sweater dress. This button was distinctive and the dress can not be worn without it. I immediately called and asked if they had the button. Their response was that they throw all of them away. No sorry, no customer service. She then said I could come dig through a ratty box of buttons, which in desperation I did. Also important to note, my other sweaters looked as though they had been put through the ringer- peels galore that didn't exist before. Hey, things happen. Buttons go missing- no big deal. This place did NOTHING, not even apologize. At least keep buttons for a week before discarding them. I suppose this incident was the one that just put me over the edge. My advice: Pay a little more and go to a place that gives better overall service. read more

I took 11 items to Rick's, most of which were already washed and just needed pressing (was feeling too lazy to do a bunch of ironing, plus I'm pretty bad at it anyway). I was told they would be ready the following day by 5:00. Around 4:45 or so the next day, I called Rick's to verify that the clothes were ready so that I wouldn't drive all the way through bad traffic after work to find out that they weren't ready. The woman who answered the phone asked me to hold and set the phone down. No worries there. I had expected to have to wait 5 or 10 minutes. However, time dragged on; the noise on the other end waxed and waned, and it became clear that I had been forgotten. Usually, at this point, I would do one of two things: I would shout to get the employee's attention to remind her that she had left me on the line; or I would hang up and dial again. Instead, I put the phone on speaker and continued to work. I was curious how long it would take before the employee noticed or remembered. During this time, I took a couple of trips to my break room and took a slightly longer trip to the bathroom down the hall. However, after 45 minutes, there had been no change and I decided to abandon my experiment and just drive to the store and hope everything would be ready. Fortunately, my clothes were ready and everything seemed to be accounted for. I have not looked closely at each item, but the shirt I'm wearing today seems to be well pressed. read more

After posting my review on 8/4/2014 I was contacted by the manager of Rick's Cleaner, Ian. He apologized for the lack of response to my previous inquiries regarding my lost items. After I provided the invoice numbers that were possibly related to my lost items, he took some time to investigate whether those items had been lost or not released. While he did not locate my items, I graciously appreciate his time and effort to follow the invoice trail. I am still disappointed that my items were not located, however I am thankful for Ian's leadership and customer service. read more

I have been a customer of Ricks for a few years now. I appreciate their position in the marketplace as an affordable dry cleaning solution. I have used their services regularly for my business attire and have delt with the regular mishaps (creasing pants that i asked not to be creased, mysterious discoleration on shirts, occasional unknowledgable staff, long lines, etc) becuase I figure you get what you pay for. Recently I stopped by to have a pillow case dry cleaned and discovered that the usual affordable dry cleaners that I know was far from affordable. I brought a small pillow case from a pillow on my couch (size 12in X 12in) and was told that the cost to have it dry cleaned was twice the usual price. The cost for this small case was $6.00! Now, I know what your thinking $6.00...whats the big deal? The big deal is that If I am going to use a dry cleaner on Cameron Road and put up with the above stated regular issues, then I expect that the price is going to be affordable. When I got the pillow back not only were they not able to remove the stain (this was the whole reason why i brought it in) but they had ironed the pillow case in half. Why would anyone need a crease in the middle of the pillow case? When I called customer service they were unwilling to resolve the issue. There are a lot of dry cleaning options in this town and I would suggest trying a different one. read more

Been coming here for a decade. In the past year lines like the one in my photo have become routine. Don't come here if you hate waiting 30 minutes to pick up or drop off clothes. [Later edit: the owner phoned after he penned the comment to this review. I appreciate the concern, but it seems more about the review than actually responding to the problem. First, don't try to explain away the issue, acknowledge my experience, apologize, urge me to give you another chance. Second, as I explained on the phone, this 20-30 minutes of waiting has happened the last five times I've come to this location, on varying days and at varying times, always with only one person staffing the front. The manager that helped me only stepped in after I had been standing in line for 20 minutes. The waiting issue was not a problem I had just this week, but many times over the past six months to a year or so. I can think of times in the past two months in which I waiting for ten minutes, then left because the line didn't move. I've had some very long conversations with strangers -- enjoyable, but not something one should expect dropping off or picking up. I would have given Rick's another try had the owner said, "I'm sorry, yes, we're short staffed but we are going to address the issue, and please give us another chance." This is always the best way to go; it's a shame the owner continues to believe this is not a problem.] read more

I am highly frustrated and disappointed in both Rick's Cleaners services and customer service. I researched companies and looked at reviews, and trusted that "Austin's Best" would be clearly the best option. I sent in my designer wedding gown for cleaning and had my husband pick it up. They have you sign a disclosure about not being responsible for beading damage or loss... fine no big deal, totally understandable. They inspect the gown and take notes on any visible damage--this is awesome made us feel like they take care in valuable garments... this is where my good experience ended. My husband picked up the dress and brought it home-- the manager at the location handed the garment over without doing any inspection. That weekend I took the dress out of the bag to look at its beauty... turned it around and to my shock found a large tear through the back of my lace dress. Totally irreparable in my opinion! Devastated that my once beautiful 2 month old wedding dress is now ruined, my husband graciously decided to deal with this and contact Ricks Cleaners. He called the manager at the location who admitted to not inspecting the dress upon arrival! Unbelievable. She referred him to Barbara at corporate and said she will help. We spoke with Barbara who said that she will have to look at the gown to see if its repairable... no problem with this. Absolutely go ahead and look at the damage! We had to call her a few days later after not hearing from her when she promised to call to see the status of this issue. She informed us that she is going to have to send the dress to the third party who cleaned the dress to see if they can repair it. At this point frustration is building considering they've made no attempt to offer a refund of money or express any real remorse for the damage. I had to call Barbara again after a few more days passed after not hearing from her. She informed me that the "professionals" at the other cleaning company say they can fix the gown using nylon thread and that it wouldn't be noticeable unless someone was 6" away from the dress. Mind you these are the same people who carelessly ripped the gown wide open. How am I to have any confidence in these people considering they bagged and dress and sent it off for delivery knowing they had ruined someones cherished wedding gown? This solution doesn't work for me considering I have our States wedding reception in June and was planning on wearing the gown again. I asked Barbara what their policy is for refunding customers and she said 50% of the value. Interesting.... So my dress that was tailor made for me, less than 2 months old, worn for 4 hours is now worth 50% less? I then asked Barbara to please produce or let me know where they tell their customers about their 50% refund policy. She had no answer because it is not written anywhere! How convenient for them! Barbara then instructed me to go to the store location and pick up a copy of their claim form the following day. Showed up the next day, there was no copy of a claim form for us and the Manager had no idea that we were coming. Great communication again!! Quite frustrated at this point the manager calls our friend Barbara for help. Barbara instructs the manager to white out a copy of a claim another customer had filled out and give it to us. I can't even make this up!! How is this either professional or acceptable protocol for a corporate business? This is a legal document that you now have just discredited and voided but still asked us to fill out. ABSOLUTELY am I not filling a whited out copy. This is clearly an issue between Rick's Cleaners, their hired insurance company, and their hired third party cleaning company that they trust with their customers garments. Even after all of this, not once has Ricks Cleaners offered a refund for our paid "cleaning" service. Their legal disclosures should state that if they ruin a garment they'll pay half of the purchase price-- they might get a WHOLE lot of brides lined up for their "Austin's Best" services!!! Please take your business somewhere else. No bride or customer needs to go thru this. Its completely ridiculous and unfortunately not resolved yet. read more

Fast and affordable. I have used them to clean everything from suits to shirts. My wife has even had minor repairs to hems, dress straps, etc and they have always done a great job. Recently she dropped off a bridesmaid dress and they let us know ahead of time that it would probably need two cleanings because we "had such a good time" at the wedding. :) Which was at no additional charge. I'm not sure I would take leather or suede jackets etc, but for the day to day stuff I am very satisfied! read more

I pointed this out to the manager at the store and eventually the General Manger, Barbara. Neither were helpful!! They gave excuse after excuse for their poor quality of service. My recommendation is if you want to roll the dice and chance getting all your clothes back, then Rick's is your place. I brought in two new shirts to be cleaned -- I had worn each once -- picked them up the next day and both of the collars were mangled and torn?! I brought them back and was told to return the following day. I came back, was told that the damage was irreparable and that I would be compensated for them and was asked to fill out a form stating their value. When the manager Barbara saw the value stated, she told me that it was absurd and that it wasn't their fault, so my claim would be denied?! I showed her the actual price of the shirts, easily accessible on my phone, and she said that they were too expensive and that they refused compensate me at all. It was a very surprising and frustrating experience, more akin to fraud than bad customer service. I will most certainly never go to a Rick's again. read more

Recently put several women's church suit in this cleaners at this location. They ruined the Jacket on a 3 piece suit, refuses to return phone calls and pay for the Jacket. I have tried to work with them but no one is returning my phone calls. This is a very unprofessional cleaners run by employees who does not have good customer service back ground. I call them and they stated it's the corporate office, and if that's the case corporate office is worst than the employees. Please don't take your nice clothes to this cleaners. read more

I beg you to please, please do not go to this location. Feel free to, if you want your garments to be lost and not receive a refund on them. I have been the model for being sympathetic and understanding to human error in this process, but I truly believe this business is incompetent in doing the one thing they set out to do--dry clean. Here is my story. I took in a priceless, irreplaceable dress to get cleaned to this Rick's location. After not hearing back for 1 week after the expected pick up date, I went in and learned the dress had been lost. They explained "give it a few days, we'll let you know" and after 2 trips in just like this one over the next 2 weeks, I called the management office to make sure it was being searched for. I put in a message for the managers of the locations and didn't hear back from them for another week. They requested I return to the location to fill out a claim. I did so, and upon arrival, the location said they hadn't hear anything about a claim. Another week went by, and the location eventually had my claim and asked me to come in to fill it out. Meanwhile, days and days had gone by and my dress just kept getting more and more lost. I completed the claim for my dress and valued it at $300. It was in absolutely perfect condition, as I've only warn it a few times, for formal events for work. 3 weeks went by after filling out my claim, and I received a check in the mail. My refund was for $90. This will not come close to replacing the dress that was lost by Rick's Cleaners. Please do not support this business. read more

This is follow-up to my negative Yelp review of Rick's Cameron Road location on Monday, July 24, 2017 regarding an incident where a jacket was returned to me with all the buttons missing. Someone at Rick's responded to my complaint with a Yelp posting indicating the company would contact me and "fix" the situation. The company has my home phone number, its been over four days, and I've heard nothing from nobody at Ricks. So when you see all the Yelp postings from Ricks, don't assume the company is actually doing any other follow-up, because my experience indicates otherwise. I've purchased new jacket buttons, sewn them on, and still don't plan on patronizing this business in the future. read more
